Battery issue - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, i'm new here, i've a problem.
I have a problem with my battery after many roms flashing, i describe you what i did
when i bought my mido, it arrived with miui 8 global stable, the same day i updated it to miui 9 global stable, the battery was perfect (10.30h screen time, wi-fi only usage).
many days after i flashed magic rom (found in snapdragon developement) based on miui 9 global weekly, i didn't like it, then i flashed lineage os 15 (found in the same place of magic rom) i didn't liked it and i flashed xiaomi.eu rom. with this rom my battery duration reduced (max 8.30h screen time, wi-fi only) but i decided to keep that rom. after this rom i flashed miui 9 global weekly, trying to recover my old battery life, but it is the same of xiaomi.eu
can anyone help me to recover my screen time?
sorry for my very bad english, hope you can help me.
thanks
-Matteo

Its not a issue man...los15 have governers set to performance so they take a little bit more battery. Using a custom kernel fixes it... But if you're still not satisfied then use battery calibration app. You can google it

Battery stats MIUI vs CM13 (RN3P)

Can someone tell me why on CM13 or any CM13 based rom is about 10h left of battery on 100% when on MIUI is about 3 days? People said that SOT is similar on both. (8-10h)
CM13 count it in different way?
Thank's

because battery stats on mobile are basically rubbish. Just gauge it based on your own usage. so many things will vary the stats, network strength, screen brightness, vibration strength etc.
Generally I find the battery lasts longer on debloated miui roms, but YMMV
Too big difference. 10h vs 3 days (72h), no way, need to be something more.
Sent from my Redmi Note 3p using Tapatalk
Well both are wild guess, on MIUI it is overestimation by OEM, while on CM it just a guess based on battery capacity and current draw. They'll get more accurate overtime, I'd say you need to use it for at least two weeks with normal usage, they'll be more similiar.

Same here for me.
about 2-3 days with stock miui
then only 10 hours with ResurrectionRemix which have issue with the processor.
I will try CM 12.1 by nahz if it's better or going back to stock rom

@DarthJabba9 Hey man , I got an RN4X too That SlimRom you recommend looks nice , I think that's the first ROM I will try after I finally unlock my bootloader... Let's say I wanna try MIUI too , do you have some recommendations too ? Some Custom MIUI ROMs or just stock Xiaomi.eu/MultiRom/MiuiPro.. ? Thanks.

Try Citrus Rom it's really smooth and awesome battery backup too even with stock kernel.
And if you want customizations then Flash DU or RR unofficial.
Hit thanks if i helped. :good:
MoKee works perfectly for me, supports Extended desktop and has root enabled by default.
I want a rom with beautiful UI , good battery life not like the miui 8.. which sucks... I could install a launcher but it consumes a lot of battery ..

its been asked over and over again...and there's only one correct ans...ITS YOU PREFERENCE
heavy customization = aex, rr viper etc
minimal = los slim etc
try and find the one you like it dosent cost money just some time
and better advice is to just wait for a while (If you want fp) for good stable oreo roms
i think tht should suffice

Hi @Gyovany96 If you want a skinny ROM, then Slim it must be. If you are interested in MIUI, then perhaps MultiPro. I tried it for a while, and it was reasonably good.
Slim is updated weekly, meaning that you will always have the latest Android security patch - and it already has a patch for KRACK (which for me, is absolutely crucial). When will MIUI have a patch for KRACK? Answers on a postcard ...

1. I thought we were discussing Slim?
2. Is 65% battery usage in nearly 12 hours of SOT good? (ie, about 5.41% per hour of SOT). I haven't come across a better one. The second image shows over 17 hours battery life (screen on and benchmarks running non-stop). Both are fairly consistent (about 17 hours SOT overall).
---------- Post added at 11:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:21 PM ----------
By the way, the first screenshot is from GSam Battery Monitor Pro, and the second one is from PCMark Work 2.0 battery life.

Indeed. But note that this relates to continuous (non-stop) SOT. If using the phone over several days, the SOT will be much lower. But the difference between this device and our old RN2 is almost unbelievable. By the way, even MIUI's SOT is pretty awesome, compared to the RN2.
PS: have a look at PC Mark works 2.0 battery benchmarks (the app itself will show show its results for a ton of other devices) - this device beats virtually every other device on the planet.
It is lineage OS 15.1 unofficial will be the best one for longest battery life..... Even better than slim Rom

[Guide] Best Battery Backup roms for MI5

Updated: 9/17/2019
After trying almost every roms from mm to pie.
i come to this conclusion.
For pie aosp rom i recommend mokee rom because its quite stable, good backup, and frequent updates, overall great for daily driver.
https://download.mokeedev.com/gemini.html
For miui, i recommended, miroom roms, latest stable (10.2.1.0) , good on battery, latest with loads of miui features.
http://portal.mi-room.ru/roms/
If you dont care for android versions and security update, i highly recommend, mui 8.1.4.0 mm global stable rom, its amazingly fast, stable and best of battery, its underclocked offical rom, so phone doesnt get heated much.
http://bigota.d.miui.com/V8.1.4.0.MAAMIDI/miui_MI5Global_V8.1.4.0.MAAMIDI_fc3bbcd638_6.0.zip
for aosp, i recommend JDC 7.1 older version you will get best battery on this rom. (sorry its not uploaded elsewhere, if someone can upload it, i am happy to update link of it)
https://pan.baidu.com/s/1i49CS4X?fid=129016299064932
if you looking for good battery balance with speed, i recommend AEX-Mod-v5.8-gemini oreo by dennyspb.
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262903982725
i needed such a post thx :d i will try.
its all about battery...difference in roms maybe 1 hour SOT with less optimized roms...android 9 get best SOT then miui 10..first of all try accubattery..5 charges and you will get an idea of your battery life overall..mine from 3000mAh default only has 2000mAh..wich gives me less 2 hours SOT than normal..so i will get 3 hours more or less..that usually we get 5-6 hours SOT on MI 5 without any tweaks..just stock settings..
get a new battery, its my answer..

It will be very hard to get a genuine Xiaomi battery in AliExpress or eBay despicte what they claim, most of them are counterfeit.
I bought a NOHON battery for 10~12 USD and it works very well. This brand is one of the most recommended in AliExpress.

Best battery optimized rom?

Hello, so far i have tried pixel experience rom and despite battery last is not bad i feel miui made a great job allowing to restrict app energy almost completely with greats battery times. What is your opinion in choosing a rom mainly based on battery time?
PE is the best. Stay on PE
PE is worst ...miui rocks
I think that its's not the rom, it's the kernel. And the daily usage.
And the amount of background-activity apps.
The roms differences are in the level of customization and how frequently they are updated.
Mine for example is AOSiP. But PE and Syberia Project are good too... Also Havoc and Arrow... There are many...
I've tried a few myself, but I keep coming back to RR. It has very decent battery consumption out the box and has an array of tweaks to improve things.
With moderate usage I get a little more than 3 days out of a charge.

For me RR is best. Had been using this Rom for years on many phones in my family.
Tested other roms in between but for me no Rom matched RR.

Battery Backup for POCO F1

Previously, I was using MIUI 11 which is the latest version for POCO F1. I was so surprised that the phone didn't last even a day with a full charge. I have to charge it again during mid-day.
Now, I've downgraded the ROM to MIUI 9 (9.6.25.0) which is giving pretty impressive battery backup I can spend my entire day with my phone in a single charge. (Pl. refer to Description of Battery Usage in MIUI 9. )
Initial Phone Battery: 74% Before Connecting Charger: 38%
Battery Usage: Screen ON: 30% 1010 mAh in 3h 49m, Screen OFF: 6% 206 mAh in 6h 9m
Discharging Speed: Screen ON: 7.8%/h 263.6mA, Screen OFF: 1.0%/h 33.4 mA, Combined use: 3.6%/h 121.7mA
(All stats are taken from AccuBattery)
But since, it is the older version. I want to know is there any version in MIUI 10? or any other custom ROM which gives pretty decent backup similar to MIUI 9. If yes, Pls. provide the screenshots for the same also if available so as to be sure.
Miui 11.0.5.0 gives best battery backup for me. Test it with arter kernel.
11,5 h SOT
Try disabling auto sync
try this custom kernel
LawRun-Kernelâ„¢

I think device is now more than 1 year old and all users get different battery backup. Like me i m only get 6-7 hour sot without gaming and with 1-2 hour gameplay i only get 4-5 hour sot. U can improve your battery life by using different kernels. By the way i m using sesh 69 hz latest version and this kernel is mainly for performance. For battery backup i suggest u franco, arter or optimus drunk kernel.
I use miui 10. Because battery backup ia better than miui 11 for me. I have use miui 11 global/ EU and many kernel, many trick and many option. But no have good result. So I back to miui 10 last version.
I need battery backup for traveling and play games. I fell good in Miui 10. Play Pubg medium setting in 4h++
But I like cast feature in miui 11.
