Hello, I'm trying to find any resources for Alcatel A3(not the XL version), but I haven't been able to find any. I'm looking for a way to root the device, custom rom, anything. I've tried using KingoRoot and KingRoot, but with no success.
This phone is new to market and it's a budget phone. I would say there is very little chance, if any, to have custom ROM for this model.
I exchanged few emails with Alcatel technical support regarding upgrade to newer Android or potential improvments but never got straight answer. Usually same PR crap about listening to their customers.
I feel TCL will keep releasing more smartphones with more or less same specs as A3.

I can live without a custom ROM, the stock one isn't heavily modified, but is there any way to root this device?
I am not aware of any ways to achieve root on this phone.
As far I remember you could request your phone to be looked at by King Root developers.
Has anyone found a way to root an Alcatel A3(5046Y) yet?

I understand the G3 is fairly new to us markets, particularly Sprint. There isn't any root yet but I hear there should be soon. Is there any way to predict if the G3 will have similar amount of developer support compared to the M8 and GS5 within a few months? I'm not familiar with LG phones, so I don't have any idea if they are popular among developers.
Ughhh this again

It's a legitimate question. I have 0 experience with LG and how difficult / easy it is to root / load custom ROMs (once root is attained). I know Samsung phones are really temperamental and HTC's you have to purposely try to mess up in order to brick. I have the same question too, how easy/hard is it to put custom ROMs on LG phones? Are they easy to brick?

Perfectly legitimate questions, IMO.
I'm no pro and I only have experience with HTC phones, which are indeed pretty foolproof once you get a proper recovery installed - I've even borked a few flashes but you just start over and try again in that case. Never had a brick by any means. But I expect it will be a simple affair for the G3 once we (i.e. our talented devs) get the bootloader unlocked and port TWRP for our devices. Then it's just a matter of rebooting into recovery and following the instructions. TWRP is a touch interface, so no fiddling with hardware keys.
As far as actually getting root access and installing SU, I've been in and out of the two recovery boot modes I'm aware of and they're simple enough to navigate. I have a moderate familiarity with UNIX command line syntax and ADB, which helps, but by the time the methods are refined and released there will be plenty of step-by-step tutorials and probably even videos to follow.
I'm personally loving the LG UI, so I'm just looking forward to a rooted stock ROM with the bloat removed, maybe some kernel and build.prop tweaks to get the most out of the hardware, and the little goodies I really miss (LED torch via notification menu, for example, and I'd kill for a screen brightness slider in there as well!).
So I finally found new for sale a potentially rootable Tracfone with a decent sized screen at 5.5" and a user replaceable battery (it sounds possibly not meant for replacement, but replacements are sold and at least one video exists showing how involving disassembly) and now i'm trying to see if anything has apparently been done with it's rootability.
A couple searches for this model show multiple methods to root, but no custom ROMs I am aware of yet. I am wondering if there is anything "in the works" or coming up or if there is low interest in this phone unlikely to ever see anything? At minimum I was hoping to have it somehow update to at least 4.4 Kitkat because there is softwares specifically requiring that I would like to use on it. Possibly newer roms 5.0 or higher due to yet other things, but at least 4.4.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have looked a lot for solutions so we can add Arabic language to zte z797c phone and I can not find. I hope to solve the problem and get a way to add Arabic language. can you help me?

Hey all. So I'm picking up a brand new G4 in the morning. I've not owned a G4, and have been on the Galaxy 6 for about a year and a half. Buying that phone was the biggest mistake I've made, it got me so out of touch with the Android world because there never was a decent root method that I was able to obtain in my opinion. I see a ton of different threads on here about Tools, Themes, Apps, etc and of course ROMs for the G4. I won't have the G4 long, only until my contract is up in October, then I'm cutting ties with Big Red and going global. However, until then, I am hoping that maybe I can get root on this phone and unlock some of its potential. I have looked around a few times now, but really the only thing I can find is the KDZ images, is that correct? Is this simply because we can't unlock the bootloader? Or maybe there is something I'm completely overlooking? If I'm missing something, or if there's any info you can give me on what I'm in store for, please let me know. I really miss my custom Android devices so much, I'm just not a person that has the financial means to go out and get a new phone every time these talented developers can't find a good root.
Thanks for any responses, I've missed you XDA.
Trust me though, I'm saving up already and going to grab a Huawei more than likely when I finally divorce from this 15 year partner that to me is now, Big Dead.

T-Mobile H811 can also be unlocked.
How's software support from manufacturer? Will we be getting regular security patches OTA?
Will it be supported for at least 2 years?
Anybody owned an Oppo phone knows about their history with updates?
Also, is their OS smooth and battery efficient or just horrible?
Thanks for reading
I had the oppo find 7. The phone was very good in his time but the software was very buggy. Os updates were very bad and it tOok a very long time to see an update. At the end, oppo closed his website and community forums leaving europe. Fortunately, there was xda devs supporting the device like omnirom etc...
I like the oppo find x but i m very septical about the support and more about the camera mechanism durability. An other thing, viewing the camera mechanism, i douubt the phone have an ip certification.
Ps: i think oppo will leave the europe maket one more time because of their prices. They are not known in france for example and a basic configuration at 999€, peoples will prefer to buy an iphone or a samsung. Maybe a huawei or a xiaomi wich are more famous than oppo here.

I agree with you, you forgot The Lamborghini version At 1699 €. Huawei and recently Xiaomi are already well known and sold in France, paradoxically Oneplus too but not Oppo
I doubt Oppo will break into the European market. big company in Asia certainly but almost unknown in Europe and bad memories of their rotating camera on N1 and N3....
I'm from germany and i think nearly nobody here or in france/spain/italy/netherlands will ever buy this phone at a pricetag of 999€. Nobody knows Oppo so you can impress nobody with your "Noname Phone". If you want to spend that much money you simply buy an iPhone or a S9+.
The Huawei P20 Pro is only selling good at that high pricetag because of the telekom, o2 and vodafone with a contract. So you have to pay 1-300€ to get the device. An Oppo without contract is nearly impossible to sell.
Thanks guys for your replies.
ColorOS in Oppo Find 7 days were always a year behind. For instance, Android was at version 4.4 Kitkat and yet Find 7 was released with 4.3 Jelly Bean. It's true that Oppo had continued to support it for 3 years, but remember at that third year, Android was at 6.0.1 Marshmallow and yet Find 7's latest final release was Project Something OS which is 5.1 Lollipop.
For people that doesn't necessarily understand how to root, TWRP, or flash custom ROMs, something will go wrong during this process because none of those updates are OTA nor recommended by service centers.
Should something ever go wrong, Oppo official service centers will give you its original 4.3 Jellybean that does not even support unified partition of any kind.
Until this day, June 2018, people still asks me: "What kind a phone is that? The camera is amazing."
The camera is still amazing even for 2018. Unfortunately, Oppo is very bad at releasing software updates. For that department, Oneplus is the better sister company but its camera & audio is not as good as Oppo's.
I was told that if you want good audio, VIVO seems to be the better sister company but I haven't paid much attention to its camera & software update support. I hope this helps.
Anyone having an Oppo contact address? Marketing, developement section maybe. It looks like the support is bot driven. Asked them to forward my mail to the dev section, but well, lol.
To be honest Find 7 support was bad but also typical when considering it's contemporaries. At its introduction there was no monthly security update even for Nexus devices, it didn't exist. A whole bunch of OEMs were going to make you wait quite some time for updates and there would not be many. If they offer support similar to their contemporaries today as they did then it's going to be much better than it was for the Find 7.
Let's face it though; we're all going to have camera lift failure before the phone gets too antiquated.

I got money to spare and i really need a new phone (current daily driver is OP2 with official LOS 15.1).
How will the chinese version fare in Sweden/EU? I don't think localization will be an issue after setting it up, just wondering if there will be issues with 3G/4G etc.
I was looking for freqs but didn't see anything, have I missed it? I'd beware the Chinese model, those can be trouble with the play store everywhere else. That is usually overcome by development but there isn't any way to know how much development this thing will see just yet. I'd certainly wait till I knew what it's play status was and the freqs... Haven't seen anything concrete on bootloader locks if any just yet either when I think about it. You're going to need that to get where you want to go.

I have the Oppo Find 7; bought it in 2014. If I had to use one word to describe the official software support, its 'frustrating'. The software on the phone was always 2 versions behind the latest one every year. It was released with Jelly bean 4.3 and around that time 5.0 was just around the corner. It took them 2-2.5 years to release an Android 5.1 ROM. Every major update from Oppo required the users to factory reset the device and it was very difficult for a layman to perform these flashes every time a new ROM was released. All the official ROMs released were beta - Color OS 2.1 Beta, Spectrum 1.1 Beta etc. Usually you'll find tons of custom ROMs from third party developers from China devs but flashing them on the international version of the phone bricked the device. All of the oppo community was very active in reporting bugs and flashing ROMs, but the official supporters soon closed the community website and all other oppo forums as they couldn't keep up with the updates and bug fixes. Officially the Find 7 got 7 ColorOS ROMS (2.0.0, 2.0.4, 2.0.5, 2.0.7, 2.0.8, 2.1.0, 2.1.5 from 4.4 to 5.1) and all were Beta releases. All of them had at least one or more major bugs. ColorOS isn't user friendly and takes a lot of time to get used to, its a very bad attempt to copy iOS on iPhones. The only good part of the OS might be the camera.
I went to omni and never looked back; had no problems at all. You do bring up a good point though; a person should be prepared and willing to stay on the release software for some time. I myself will want to know who is going to be developing, or if there will be any at all. I'm fine with Oreo but I'm going to need an unlocked bootloader/magisk. As to their launcher, yeah, it's junk. Easily fixed at the play store however; I know I'll have my beloved Action Launcher on there in about 5 minutes. Assuming I buy of course, a lot of questions to be answered first.

completly agreed
So basically unless we get custom roms for this phone - stay away.
I wouldn't go that far, if the bootloader is unlocked and you're good hanging on the delivered firmware it might still be a go. I would be as long as it's possible to enable double tap to wake, I hate having to swipe. The software itself was not that bad with the find 7, it was the craptacular launcher that hurt the stock experience.
All that said if a good developer picks one up and starts development that would make a buy decision easier to make.

I've had a few Oppo phones, and like others have said here, the biggest problem is software update speed. Their issue is that they use ColorOS, which is a heavy skin on the phone. They tapered it back some recently, but it still ends up making them delay updates because they have to do so much on their end.
The phones are always solid, high-quality phones. They just care too much about how the phone looks, rather than how current it is.
I have a NEX from China, and it was pretty simple to add Google services working flawlessly.
I assume same will be for FIND X which i have pre-ordered already should get it by 18th July.
hii, I first want to apologize for my bad english, it isn't my native language. secondly i wanted to ask if anybody here knows if lineageos or anything like these custom (nearly stock) roms is going to be available for the oppo find x and how long it would take before they will be released. I'm considering buying a OPX and i am pretty new to buying chinese phones, I heard a lot of complaints about not getting a notification of whatsapp or anything like this, I really don't like the idea that I would have to open whatsapp every time to see if i got a notification or not.
thanks for your help.

No apologies needed, make yourself at home @maikonor ........... :good:
While I can't speak regarding Whatsapp, you can get timely notifications for email/other SMS/MMS messaging apps, but,a lot of digging around in the settings is involved. Nothing beyond most users expertise,it's just a lot of redundancy & repitition, but, once set-up,my notifications come through just fine.
As for development,it's not unheard of on Oppo devices, but,is it possible with this phone ? IDK if the current firmware/software will support it.
If the promise of root/ROMs is a must,it's probably gonna be a while before development takes grip,if it ever does.
I'm hoping once the phone becomes available in more markets (international release/ROM),we'll begin to see some hint of what the future holds.

Hey buddy, This is my second OPPO variant. From my previous experience on R11P, it was pretty nasty. Nothing was released from OPPO to support unlocking or Root the device. However, with Find X, OPPO has launched globally. It might change its perspectives regarding playing around with the systems. who knows. I hope they do, I love flashing ROMs, lolz!

Thanks for your reply, I hope they do change perspective and otherwise I will buy an oneplus 6.
The Find 7 was unlocked and they provided a rudimentary support for unlocking and rooting, this is the last vairiant that I'm aware of that saw wide release. Realistically that's all we need to obtain root, which is pretty easy via magisk. The Chinese launcher restrictions wont exist on the international handsets, those are for the Chinese market only and you'll be able to use the phone pretty much as normal in the Android world. It's all about whether or not the bootloader is unlocked. If yes we should be able to get root ourselves without special skills. From there it's just a matter of whether anyone with skills decides to pick up the phone and develop for it and then you've got TWRP and possibly a rom or two to play with.
I hope Oppo could release international version of the Find X rom
The chinese rom is pretty much unusable in North America
If it's like OPPO's other phones from the last few years, it will have a locked bootloader with fastboot removed and they won't release any kernel source.
Chinese OPPO fans tell you,It is very hard to request a root access or source code from OPPO,or just wait a loooong time:crying:,OPPO has always been like this, and sorry about my bad English,i want say more but i do not known how to
Explain in eglish(+_+)
Hard to do in China, there are rules there prohibiting that very thing and even when those don't apply Chinese companies are rightfully afraid to do something their dictator doesn't want because their executives would like to remain among the living. Chinese leaders are pragmatists however who enjoy the riches they deny the masses which means their products need to sell on a global market so they can keep enjoying all the things their populace is denied. The last product Oppo released in the world market was bootloader unlocked and they provided support for rooting. This does not mean the same will happen now but have no doubt they are well aware that their practices with Chinese phones will kill any hope at all of selling in the international market. Something to think about; One+ is owned by Oppo. They are unlocked and fully supported.
