As above, is there anyway to download the above firmware other than funkyHuawei? I dont think its right i should have to pay $35 for 5 credits when Huawei should release the OTA update to fix several problems with there device, especially a phone that doesn't work over WiFi!
I guess you could email Huawei, or your operator. It doesn't exist outside of FH, not sure how he got his hand on it.
Or you could rebrand to C432 or C636.
No way to do this unfortunately. You could contact Huawei but they will ask for your IMEI, then tell you the update is being rolled out.
Luckily I don't have the WiFi problem, but a few other smaller problems which could do with an update.
Maybe the phone doesn't like certain routers. Not sure.
I emailed Huawei last week but doubt anything good will come out of it. So is the firmware over at FH unofficial?

A select few have said they got it as an OTA so I don't think so, unless they used FH
I talked to Huawei live chat and they confirmed that this update is rolling out to UK users, just a waiting game.
I'd use funkyhuawei if it was a one time purchase but having to buy 'credits' every time I want to flash an update just doesn't justify value to me.
Guess I'll wait for the OTA

Exactly, why should we pay for a official ota update !!!! What is really bugging me is the fact im having to use my data plan as the WiFi doesn't work. If i dont get a ota very soon im going to return my handset as i dont get long to return anyway.

Let me know how you get on, im still waiting on an email reply as the chat was down. I bought mine sim free from amazon so i dont see why im waiting for a OTA unless its because i stuck a Vodafone sim card in it?
Hi, I got the BLA-L09 8.0.0.124 update about a fortnight ago (bought unlocked from CPW in Nov.) and did receive the update OTA..... did NOT buy anything from FH. So, can confirm it is a UK OTA update, so, should roll-out eventually...bit of a pain though for anybody playing the IMEI waiting game...
When checking for ota, sometimes you have to click the 3 dots in the upper right and click install full package.
Another thing sometimes i was getting ota update on Huawei's phones after a factory reset directly,i would do it from the stock recovery, but don't feel bad if this doesn't work for you, it's up to you if you can't wait and want to try.

Think I am going to send it back. Apart from having a bit better battery and brighter screen than my U11+, the software is a mess and the audio via every dongle is worse.
Don't think the sim card you used has anything to do with it really. Just IMEI lottery which is stupid tbh lol
What is in this update? In the Change Log it says, "No information". Google search doesn't return much except a reddit thread where someone said, "I purchased a sim free mate 10 pro from CPW which was running 115 (c782) flashed this fine but since I always get an EE app even after a factory reset, help?" I too bought Sim Free from Carphone Warehouse and am worried I'll get EE spam on my phone (I'm an EE subscriber), so need to know if it is worth updating.

If you pay the money and update via FunkyHuawei you will likely get some EE branding. If you wait for the official OTA update, it will stay with the carrier branding you have at the moment.
It appears that FunkyHuawei has managed to get hold of the EE version of the latest firmware.

Still no reply from Huawei, they have till the end of the week to reply back to me otherwise im sending it back for a one plus 5T. The more i use the phone the more faults i find, Today i used google maps to navigate me to an address, is so jerky and not smooth at all, really bad.
I spoke with Huawei regarding the bugs I have with this phone on firmware 115 and the update to fix them.
They took my imei . They told me there was an update that is approved for ota waiting for me.
I told them both ota and hi suite say there is no update for my phone.
They then tell me the update is automated and rolled out in batches and I must then wait for the update notification....

Long story short, I am using a UK Xperia S however I'm in Canada.
I installed the Sony PC companion but it's not detecting any updates. I even tried changing my location to UK on the program but does not make a difference.
Is there any way to get this update without having to use the flashtool in the android development section?
Anybody else have this problem using the phone in a country that officially does not have it yet?

Negri electronics online.
Roughly came to $679 including overnight delivery. (plus US customs taxes of around $37)
There are cheaper places to order the phone but I am extremely happy with Negri's service. Phone was delivered to my door less than 24 hours of placing the order online.

Edit: as for updating the phone, why don't you just flash the file posted by bin4ry, and i don't think sony pc companion works like that, when it updates, it just checks ur build.prop for the firmware you have and releases the update based on that

My build version is 6.0.A.3.62 so it's the older version, so why isn't Sony companion updating my phone?

so what's causing the singapore version to block the update?
will this affect future updates?
maybe its a good time to flash to the generic .67 firmware.

Hi
I wanted to know in which countries the release 5 update has been rolled out...?
I have not got in india...?
Any idea plz reply..
Thanks
In the US and some say it has been rolled out in India
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using xda app-developers app
still not in the netherlands
A few received OTA in India last week - Europe normal gets the rollout about a week - 10 after the US, atleast going by past updates.
Changed region to India and no action at all. India is in ST006 so NZ AUS Hong Kong etc would get at the same time.... Going by past updates anyway. ICS original came through at 11pm local time for me which was 2pm Hong Kong (I think).
My guess is that the people in India had changed theirs to US or had US tabs....
Also could not find a URL for this, hence changing to India region.
I agree with the roll out, everyone had ICS within the end of the next month (May). So wasn't too bad

sony support
I contacted sony support and they confused the hell out of me. Made me format my tab.
I contacted them through a contact on phone and they actually said that it is a global update and i should be able to update it so thought that my tab was abandoned because some kind of lack of contact to Indian servers. This thread told confirmed my suspicion that it was not not a global launch.
Thank you for that. The support is bad to say the least.

This morning I realized that my phone had not received any OTAs yet, so I sideloaded the MDA89D to MDB08K zip (find it here) and then got the MDB08L OTA notification as soon as the phone booted up.
In talking with friends with a 6P and looking at other threads, there seem to be a lot of users that are still on the factory MDA89D build, so I'm wondering if the delay is carrier specific.
FWIW, I activated my 6P without a SIM card and then have been using it with T-Mobile. Checking available updates always showed nothing was available.
It seems like Verizon users are not getting OTAs yet, as expected from an existing thread. T-Mobile users *should* be getting one since they are turning Band 12 off with it.

OTA got nothing to do with carrier you are on.
Sent from my Nexus 6P
I did not receive the OTA, but I did flash the new factory image as soon as I unlocked the bootloader.
yes just received phone in the mail today after setting everything up I got the OTA update installed with no problem
I simply just change the date few weeks forward. I didn't receive both updates soon so I just fast forwarded date a little. Then updates pop up on both times. Should give it a try before going on a manual flash route.
Didn't have to do anything, it just arrived while I was updating my S5 to 5.1.1.
Was reading an article recently where a Google engineer explained how updates go.
1% get the update first, if no problems
25% get the update, if no problems
50% get the update, if no problems
Etc etc
No mention of a time frame between percentages though.
I got the device Friday, on k version, got the l update earlier today.
Expect to see them monthly as Google is releasing security updates on a monthly basis now.
Need one for carrier less. Updated before putting sim in.
Got an OTA this AM on Fi Sittin on MDB08L. I have an unlocked bootloader as well.
I got my 6P today and turned it on. As soon as I signed into my Google account it told me that I required a software update. Didn't even finish the setup wizard before it downloaded and installed.
I ordered through Project Fi as soon as I got my invite. They sent the sim with it and I put it in and turned it on. Boom, update.
Yep got one today.

It's interesting to see that, so far, most voters who have not received an update are on another carrier (or carrier-less), or Verizon. I was interested in seeing what Sprint users are experiencing, but there has only been one Sprint user voting so far (a friend on Sprint has not received any).

Already flashed the update through mskip's toolkit. No wiping of data required though it flashes the whole ROM, not just the update (900mb).
I'm on AT&T. I got the first OTA when I turned the phone on for the first time, but where the hell is the November security patch? I thought it was supposed to start rolling out on November 1, yet it is November 10 and I still don't have it? What the hell Google? I understand a slow rollout of a major update, but security patches should be available to everyone on day 1, if not automatically, then sure as hell if they press the damn update button in settings. This is why companies don't take Google seriously when they talk about security.
I click "Check for Update" and nothing happens, says last time it was checked was November 30th. Tried rebooting, rebooting with no sim card . . . any ideas??
Just got one. Taking FOREVER to optimize apps. Painfully slow.
Just got my update through Telus in Canada. Installing right now.
just got 128gb 6P and got it activated on Sprint .. OTA about 15-20min after
I'm really starting to get annoyed. I was expecting a beta as the samsung support members claimed there would be a beta for the canadian (w) variant IN DECEMBER. And when you ask Samsung support, they just say soon. However in many countries in Europe already have the OFFICAL pie update. Samsung seriously? Super frustrated, and I feel like samsung really doesn't care about it's canadian users. I'm still on a November 2018 Security Patch. I've checked samsung members and have also tried it on members+, but still nothing. Just a little rant/experience i'd share with you all.
Got it here today in the UK. We typically get everything last when it comes to Samsung. And Huawei.
I just got it yesterday through the smart switch program (window). But then had problems. My phone would not boot up, and was going in recovery mode all the time. I had to erace the data configuration to be able to use my phone. Then it when in safe mode so I could back up my data, then I had to factory reset my phone. Kinda suck but now I have the pie update.
When I text my husband Chris , I get delivery report says Chris. Delivered. Ok then I'll get a delivery report for some text that I didnt send and it also has my name on it Mary . Like I sent myself text. Immediately after that I get a text from my husband. I've sent 2 pics both are my phone ,Mary

UPDATE: I just checked Samsung Members and they're confirming a Feb 2019 release date. Guess I have to wait another like month
I've got an unlocked S23 Ultra, S918U1, currently running on Google Fi. Will probably be switching to US Mobile's Verizon plan soon tho. I'm wondering what my best options are for keeping the device updated. It's still on May but maybe too early to worry about the June update? But I can get a little impatient sometimes and I'm not sure how updates tend to go with MNVOs.
So I guess I'm wondering about: Smart Switch, changing CSC, and Odin. Any tips for keeping this device promptly updated?
Use Odin. Changing CSC shouldn't matter too much although it might cause problems if you don't wipe data. It's been a while since I've dealt with Samsung.
As far as getting ahold of the firmware in the first place I believe Frija is your best option, although I don't know whether Samsung makes their updates publicly available at the same time they push OTAs.

Just make sure that you pay attention to which CSC file you use. The HOME_CSC.tar is for an update preserving user data. The CSC.tar will wipe data.

If you bought it as an unlocked phone...and it isn't network (carrier) branded...you'll get the updates more quickly anyway.
The U1 version usually gets the updates about two weeks after Korea does...and only one week after we in Europe do.
FYI....if you device is unbranded...it doesn't matter what carrier your SIM is. The updates are independent of the carrier.

Oh, thanks for the information, I do have an unbranded US U1 model, so maybe I'll be able to just wait for the updates to come OTA. That would be the easiest of course. And thanks for the info about the timeline, I see that the June updates for many models seem to be up on Sam Mobile as of today, so hopefully another week or two for me
