Has anyone been able to successfully use and calibrate the correct distance in the indoor run activity on the international ROM version 1.3.5 ? I have tested it a number of times after the 1.3.5 update and it seems it is only allowing me to calibrate within a maximum of 0.7 - 1 miles. For example, I completed a 5k run indoors and the watch calculated that i had run 1.74miles. When i try to calibrate it at the end of the activity it is only allowing me to calibrate to a maximum of 2.44miles and not the 3.1miles (5k).
Just completed another 3.1mile run this morning and the watch estimated the distance as 1.94 miles. When I calibrated the run, the maximum I could calibrate to was 2.9 miles as there were no available values after this.
The calibration feature was working in the previous ROM version. I contacted amazfit support and they suggested to create additional runs and calibrate them to make up the distance but dont really want to have to do that and don`t really want to downgrade ROM.
Anyone else have this issue with the international ROM 1.3.5 ?
Many thanks

Thanks for the reply. Good to know that it is not just my watch.
Anyone know if there is an way to submit a bug report in order that a fix might be considered ?
Also anyone use a non stick ROM like pacified and can confirm if the issue exists in that ROM. ? Thanks
how to calibrate?
Same here
Same thing happening to me with stratos.
I gave up on it and I don't look at stats anymore because they are just gibberish.
This morning run, 6.3km on threadmill for 30 minutes, stratos says I was runing for 2.5km... and I can expand that to 3.5 or so...
I noticed that it works for me ONLY if I run at one specific speed (10kmph).. it doesn't correct itself at all and the faster I run the worse the results.

pretty much based on size and its waterproof feature. I do a lot of hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. I primarily plan to use this device for GPS and mapping and wondering if I can rely on it in favor of my Garmin Dakota 20. There's not much on the web that addresses its capabilities in this specific manner. Will I be disappointed? Are there specific ROMS available that might improve my experience in using the device in this manner? I'd obviously be interested in optimal battery life. I did order a couple of spare 1800mAh batteries and standalone charger in hopes of getting me through a solid day on the trail.

There are some roms, who improve battery life, don't know about gps. But if you install another rom, you will void your warranty and you won't be able to flash the specific original rom for your region, cause for most devices there's only the generic rom to flash (shouldn't be a problem if you have to take it to service, just that you know)...
If you want to use the active instead of your garmin, you will have to find a very good navigation app, because as I think, you need something for area where are no streets, too. And most navigation apps haven't got this feature...
I have an active myself. If you want to keep it down to it's basic functions (which is basically already set as an outdoors device) i would suggest that you don't upgrade to ics and keep the original gingerbread software which has far less battery draining than any ics based rom. About the GPS, i used it severalk times for travbelling and never for tracking so don't know how it works in deep thick woods, but always had speedy lock on and precise navigation. Unlike above user stated most navigation (one with offline maps would probably be best) apps are for trekking and offraod activities, what you can do is modify your gps.conf file to make it specific to your region or area so satellite lock time will be much improved. Just search the forum for gps speed fixes, there's also a patch for agps to help increase satellite locking time.
I own this phone and wanted to do the same as you.
All setups i tried were not stable. sometimes the external power cable got disconnected, sometimes just the app closed.
after months of testing, i reverted to gamin products as they offer a much more rugged and robust hardware. I never managed to track > 20 hours on my active-phone.

Thanks for all of your input folks.
I did receive the phone on Friday and had a chance to check it out over the weekend. My first impression is that it has a comfortable size and mass to it and I do not mind the screen size at all. It seems quite speedy and the (Gingerbread) OS operates like butter. I did have difficulty getting the GPS function to lock at first. After prolonged attempts, it wasn't until I installed an app called GPS Test did it finally lock - not quite sure what the difference was, perhaps AGPS may have been responsible. Since then however, I have been attempting to maintain GPS-only locating as I am certain that data would not be available in the majority of my usage areas. I looked at most of the GPS Mapping/Tracking apps and settled on the paid version of AlpineQuest - excellent app. I got my waypoints from my Garmin loaded onto my SD card and was quickly navigating the trails in the woods behind my house. Great stuff!
I got just over 8hrs of solid use out of the first charge on the stock battery, so the phone should keep up with a full day on the trails. I have also ordered a couple of spare batteries and standalone charger for backup. Since this first day of use, I have been using the GPS Test app exclusively to verify my satellite lock prior to using AlpineQuest. I did notice that after prolonged non-usage or following a charge cycle I did have some difficulty locking on to the satellites, however each time it was solved with a phone reboot - after which the GPS Test app would lock on within seconds (even inside the house). Each time I was in airplane mode with WiFi off. I will have to monitor the satellite locking for consistency before I am all in with this device but so far I am quite please with its (stock) performance.
the phone & the user may be active, but the battery is certainly not. the display is not that bright under bright sunlight situations :X
hi, i have the active as well and so far i am pretty satisfied.. not VERY satisfied due to Battery life.. but without that issue, I am satisfied...
I have dropped this baby 4 times already on concrete (2 waist level 2 chest level) and the phone just bounced without any cracked screen (it does have some dents on the silver lining around the screen though), but i can guarantee that this phone is shock proof because on those 4 times, the phone did not even turn-off or restart or even battery breaking out from its case...
I do not do trails but so far, the NavFree app has been very good to me with my driving direction needs... easy locking with GPS and pretty good directions...
Try also searching for build.prop tweaks in the development area of this forum because i think it can help in the phone's performance and a little bit of battery life.. i can do intermittent non-heavy image/flash website surfing and the battery could last more than 8 hours and if I just have my phone on stand by (just waiting for messages and calls and reply to them) battery could last more than 24 hours...
I have to ask you though, were those 1800 batteries better than the 1200 ? I was also thinking of buying spares...

I haven't got them yet, but these are the one's I ordered.
I'm on the .62 build so looks like I have to flash an earlier firmware just to get root. I'd really like to get rid of some of this extra crap and get link2sd going. If you are rooted, what firmware are you running? I just hope the GPS performs just as well on an earlier build.

you have to tell me if you notice some increase in battery life with those 1800's...
regarding rooting, i followed this procedure with no problem: http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/241059
just follow it step by step.. also, if you are not aware, you have to flash the kernel using the flashtool before you can flash the rom through CWM.... in anyway, you should not be afraid of bricking your phone because I was able to always restore my phone through that link's procedure.. however, pls do not take my word on it because what works for me might not work for you even if we have the same phone... we still might have a different stock.. so rooting your phone is always at your own risk (my disclaimer, hehehe)...
regarding rom, i find the free experia rom's quite good... after initial loading of the rom, i got more than 400mb free internal space.. so they did remove a lot of bloated apps that you dont really use...
just as side note: i installed cm10 fxp138 on my active and the battery lasts for 36hours and more. i really like 4.1 jb.
Update
OK, so I am rooted and remain locked. I ended up flashing stock 4.0.2.A.0.42 and then this ROM:
ROM][GB][ALL MDPI] HASA v5 [2.3.7][27/9/12]
My prayers have been answered! This ROM is fast and lean! Thanks very much to sandy7 for his work on this! I followed his instructions exactly as in his first post, however did not need to install the revised camera lib as I had no issues with the camera. I've had absolutely zero issues and love the speed.
Now for the battery life. I finally got the spare batteries I mentioned in the previous post (shipped from China). My initial observation is that these batteries smoke the stock one by a large margin. I still need to spend a little more time on this ROM to be certain. As mentioned before, my goal is to replace my standalone GPS unit with this phone. I am not using phone or data, so I am in airplane mode all the time. I am using wifi a bit. With the stock battery I got about 1 day and 12 hours of standby and light use on wifi and gps with 10% remaining. On the replacement battery I got 3 days and 16 hours with 35% remaining before I decided to try the stock battery again. The stock battery began to drain as soon as I put it in and was down to 85% within the first hour. I don't know, perhaps these stock batteries are junk? I am open to suggestions on how to properly do a test and comparison.
omg.. really? so those china batteries work for you? damn.. I want those.. i will buy those..
Anyone using this app a lot and have any opinions on it? Wondering what everyone's opinions are as far as accuracy. I'm thinking it's not too accurate so was thinking about disabling it but not sure. Don't have a pedometer to compared it to.
Haven't been able to tell since it starts automatically instead of when you want to start it. But I think like most pedometers, it gives a close approximate. As far as a calorie counter, it's not accurate
Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
I have been using it for a couple weeks, and it seems the tracker always running isn't too accurate (sometimes says im running because I walk fast) but I feel the measured run/walk works good. At least for walk. The gps tracking is great and the time/distance is nice too. Probably not the best app out there but it suits my needs and I feel it does a good enough job.
I tried walking around and counting my steps for a short time and it wasn't all that accurate. A better test might be if someone wants to used a good quality pedometer for an extended period and compare it to the LG.
Another problem is that many people put their phone down somewhere for part of the day and therefore the daily counts might miss a a significant number of steps.
I wound up deactivating mine.
Yeah I'll probably just end up deactivating mine as well.
Just tested
I just tested it, counted 369 steps, and 368 was added to the app, so in my opinion is really accurate!
I just wish some other apps that have more options would take advantage of the built in pedometer. I'm looking at you MyFitnessPal....
I used for a week. then froze the app. I was literally looking at the step count go up as I was sitting in a moving car lol

Try enabling location services. I had the same problem, but with location services it didn't count steps while on a bus.
I've did 2445 steps and counted around 2400(I did a few mistakes while counting). So I think is pretty accurate. I did those steps in urban environment. It actually uses the build in accelerometer for that although for tracking you'll need the location services but that is normal.
I've tested it also indoors and selected walk type exercise. I've made 10 steps and it counted 10 however you'll need to do it in normal pace. The app kicks in if detects certain acceleration so on slow walking(very slow) it doesn't work. I'll keep on testing it the next few days and will see what will happen.
I've tested it on my LG G3
LGE Accelerometer
InvenSense
Version 1
Accurate when counting steps
It's accurate when u walk but when u jog it records as running. How ever then runing calorie seems near to jogging. I just a little doubt about calorie counter.
I greet you all in the name of peace my fellow comrades.
4 days ago i joined you in the xiaomi smartphone race by buying xiaomi redmi note 3 pro. Everything was fine and nice till I found out the very first day that my phone suffers from huge battery drain overnight. I did my research about this matter already but was unable to find any clear and soul-soothing answer unfortunately, so I'd like to ask you if you could help me by sharing your experience and opinions with me.
I'm not going to pretend I'm not a hardcore noob in miui as it is my first xiaomi phone and generally flashing/rooting too since the last time i was flashing anything was like 4 years ago on my galaxy s1 i9000
So to make this post as short as possible:
I'm on stock OS - exactly as it came from the store - android v.: 5.1.1 LMY47V , security patch level 1.8.2016, miui v.:MIUI Global 8.0 | Stable 8.0.2.0(LHOMIDG) , CPU: hexa-core max 1,8GHz , no mi account yet, no unlocked bootloader, no root.
observation:
I downloaded cpu spy from google store. thanks to this app i came to know:
1- the phone never goes to deep sleep but stays on 691MHz or higher all the time.
2- after turning it off and on again, it can enter deep sleep for several hours. then I browse a little on wifi, check gmail and so on or whatever.. after some time, the phone usually doesn't get to deep sleep anymore.
- in battery use, android system and android are shown as the two major culprits (high percentage). When i click on the "android" process, high "keep awake" time is only present here. not in "android system"
cause?
D) Google Services? http://en.miui.com/thread-356299-5-1.html according to another guy, "they are working on a fix" -?
E) fingerprint wakelock? http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/kernel-t3414884 fix by flashing older modem - doesn't seem like my problem,. but what do i know right?
F) something else?
fix?
A) should i try to upgrade to 8.0.6.0.LHOMIDG | stable ? not sure, because miui forums are filled by users complaining about bad battery drain in this version.
B) Do i need to unlock it and get another ROM to solve this problem? According to this guy, changing ROM didn't help him https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/5af17d/battery_drain_on_xrn3_pro/ i try to avoid flashing as long as possible
C) is there even a fix?
I already went through this guide, but it didn't solve the problem http://en.miui.com/thread-339815-1-1.html
I bought a new phone and expected it to be working right out of the box, instead I've been just googling and googling for the past 4 days to no avail. I'm really confused and desperate in this matter and don't think I'd be able to continue looking and find a fix to this problem just by myself.
What should i do? I have time till next week's Wednesday to return it back to the store for full refund... or should I return it right away without any hesitation?
Thank you in advance for your reaction.
I've had this phone for some months now, and with normal daily usage and a custom rom, I can make it 4-5 days with 1 charge which is nearly impossible with MIUI ROMs; from personal experience at least. If you do not want to upgrade/change your rom, I would suggest you unlock your bootloader and root your phone. After that you could try installing "Greenify" from Play Store which really helps hibernate apps. I've been using it for over a year and it makes my battery life last at least 2-3 days more with normal everyday use. If that doesn't help either, you could try installing a custom rom which generally is "lighter" compared to MIUI roms. Hope I helped, good luck.

MIUI doesn't need Greenify because it kills apps automatically by default. I use it on all my devices except my RN3P.
My suggestion would be to go into the permission manager first and disable everything but the non-essential functions. Next go to background permissions in Additional Settings and do the same. It took me a few weeks to get things working properly and now I average about 6-7 hours of sot.
I still have some apps that keep occasionally have long keep awakes but force stopping them brings them back to normal. For example a 30 minute keep awake from bbm will show as only 5% on the stats but will account for a full 10% per hour on it's own. I've now removed it from the whitelist and allowed miui to control it. Hope this helps.
Hi all,
I am using Stratos for 2 months and very satisfied with its function, everything is fine.
Until last month (July18), I noticed that the distance is abnormal. I ran in the park which I know the distance, it is about 5 km per round but at that time, the GPS reached 5 km before I finished a round, estimately 300-400 metres per 5 kms error, that is too much !!!
I have done factory reset and try runnning again, unfortunately an error still occured.
Please kindly give me some advices, thank you in advance !

Had the same problems with my stratos and the firmware. Also the altitude measurement is not working properly. I switched to stratosfied 2.0.27. for me this was and is the only firmware with accepable tracking results.
If you read out the gpx file, and check the track on google maps, can you see the error on the map itself? Like the marking is not on the road, corners are cut or anything like that?
As it is with gps it works best in an open field. When running in a park below many trees or in between tall houses there might be some inaccurate readings....
Statos had the most accurate GPS of all smartwatches i have had so far. Only had inaccurate readings once when I was in a forest but they were still good enough for getting the idea of distance and soeed...

It happened the same to me. After last released the mileage on running started to be wrong.
When running I change the sport to trail and find it that the mileage is correct.

I have been having so many issues with different versions of stratosfied and even the latest official firmware's, but I agree that stratosfied 2.0.27 seems to have fixed them. Its a pity some of the translations are not fixed but it is still worth it. Thanks for sharing this.
I have the same issue. Sometimes the error is visible only on google maps. the problems is, that either at the beginning or and of the track the gps jumps a some 100 metres away and immediately back...

For me there have been several versions working since 2.0.27 (not all; can write them later when at home). Currently I'm on 2.0.37 and I'm quite happy with it. At this version the altitude is fine and also the heart rate seems to be pretty good. Sync with app is a bit slow but I don't care much about that. Never switched back to official.
Hi guys,
I'd like to know what is the latest update version tody? Is it 2.3.10.x?
My watch is 2.3.7.0. When I use Amazfit watch app to check the update, it always tells me 2.3.8.0.
I don't like 2.3.8.0 because it will change all the buttons.
Can I go directly to 2.3.10.x from 2.3.7.0? How?
Thank you very much.
Regards.
2.3.10.x has the same button layout, so what do you think you can archive?
And no, OTA is a cumulative update.

Hi fzelle,
Thank you very much for your response.
So I'll go like this: 2.3.7.0 -> 2.3.8.0 -> 2.3.9.0 -> 2.3.10.0
For each update, I'll reboot the watch to make sure.
Hope that I'll get the same buttons layout at the end and no widgets issue, no battery drain issue known from the forum.
Best regards.

Hi fzelle,
One more question. If I stay with 2.3.7.0 what are the features/corrections I'll miss if compare to 2.3.10.0
Thank you very much.
They updated the heart rate algorithm ; it seems to be much better. It also has "personal records/bests" for some sports. So far the latest update is good!

Finally I did the updates with success. No widgets issue, no battery drain. Yes, seems that HR works better and continous HR comes back.
I don't quite like the new buttons layout but I don't care now since the button functions are the same when doing workout activities. I will do more workouts to verify this.
One negative point about sleeping: If you wake up (in my case 30mn) and fall asleep later, then you will loose the first period of sleeping time. It isn't the 2.3.10.4 version issue, it occured also in my old 2.3.7.0 version.
Anyway good job to the developers.
Hello,
After doing some sport activities, everything works fine.
Finally, only sleeping issues left to resolve (my personal idea).
One issue was written in my above message. Another is sleeping time continues for more than 1 hr after waking up. It didn't appear everyday but several times 1 week.
Regards.

Hello,
I didn't notice that for the moment. I did have a big negative altitude value once after the update. But Later the GPS did his job accordingly.
It is not easy to see sudden changes when I do biking. I'll try and tell you if any
Do anyone have my sleeping issues?
Regards.
My Stratos 2s battery last for 1.5 days. Airplane mode all the time and with continuous HR. Is it normal or battery drain. I just got it for 10 days and don't know if previous firmware had better battery life.
Continuous HR is a battery killer
Am I missing a setting or? Is it possible to adjust the interval between HR measurements? Continuous seems to be like every minute, but that seems a bit too frequent. Every 10-20 minutes seems OK, and wouldn't eat throught the battery as quickly.
Not that I know of so far, no setting for continuous HR interval. Turn it off did save around 10-15% battery per 24 hours. Not much as I expected
since last firmware update, my altitude measurements are completely off. I'm normally running a circular circuit and when I'm done and I check the status there are 40-50 m difference in height from he start to the end point, when I'm actually on the same spot
