Hello guys, I'm looking for an Android version for my Dell Venue 8 Pro 3845 if possible, because Win10 is not really good on it
Thx
hi, sadly Dell Venue 8 Pro 3845 (dv8p) is hard on google.
mileage may vary. I'm now fiddling with it.
so far only "almost" out of the box was Android-x86 project.
simply write the ISO image to a usb device and boot from it.
remember to disable secure-boot of course.
I've tried android-x86_64-8.1-rc2.iso
http://www.android-x86.org/download
seems to be working:
wi-fi, auto-rotation, touch* (only when USB-OTG is connected in my case)
I haven't find a pre-built kernel designated directly for the venue 8 pro 3845 so it might be possible to improve behavior.
another thing that can make a change is boot flags.
I'm still figuring out what GRUB flags would be best.

Hey,
I'm interested in getting this tablet to run Windows, to my understanding you require a BIOS.
Seeing as how there is literally a counterpart tablet made with Windows (Dell Venue 8 Pro), wouldn't it be possible to figure out how to throw that BIOS onto here?

TL;DR: Can I install Linux on the Venue 8 7000?
Hello, I am new to this forum, so please correct me, if I do anything wrong. I would like to buy the Venue 8 7000, but Android is not enough for me, as I'd like to develop desktop apps. Installing Linux should not be that hard, if it is possible to choose the boot device, which could be blocked. I mean, do Tablets work as normal Computers? Do I just need to hit F8 or something like that? Also what Architechture is the Processor? It is Intel, so I'd suspect i686 or x86_x64. Would I need to install the OS on the Tablet's internal memory? If so, do apps themselves need internal memory? I have never owned a Tablet before, so I don't know. If all of this doesn't work, could you recommend me another small Tablet? I read somewhere on here, that someone got it working on an nVidia SHIELD, so this shouldn't be too much different.
Thanks!
I bought a Dell Venue 8 Pro 5830 second had, and it came preloaded with Windows 10. BIOS version is A16. I saw a bunch of videos on YouTube of this tablet running several PC games pretty well, as well as some emulators. When I try running some PC games, most run very sluggish.
I have done some reading on several forums, and it seems to be that having Windows 8.1 may resolve my issues. How can I install Windows 8.1 on this tablet? I can't find a recovery image anywhere.
Thanks!
Hello,
I just got as a present an Acer One S1003 and it's on Windows 10 and I don't like it. Cannot return it (don't ask why pls), but I managed to install Android 7.0 on it. Now the issue I have is that it doesn't find the driver for Wifi and G Sensor. Everything else works, sound and all, but I can't enable Wifi or Autorotate.
Tried to find the drivers on Google but I could only find the Windows 10 ones.
Please help me to find some drivers or let me know if I need to install a different version of Android.
Thank you,
Daniel
on android 8.1 and 9 wifi is working but don't work g sensor and i can only run android x86 8.1 with no hardware acceleration. Can't normal start android. I don't know what is with x64 because this s.h.i.t of tablet supports only UEFI 32 bit, NO 64 bit and NO legacy mode, but processor is 64 bit and have 4 gb memory. Someone in acer is very very creative processor x64 4 GB memory and only support UEFI 32 bit my mind can't understand it :/
Hi folks, I'm trying to use Mi BOX 3 with dell touchscreen monitor P2418HT.
On windows it's necessary a driver installation.
Anyone have an ideia how to make it possible to reconize it on Android?
I also installed Android on a notebook, (normal android, not the android tv), and also does not work....
Maybe write a small driver?
Thanks in advance!
Conclusion: does not work with linux and android.
This dell is not compatible. Even on windows is necessary drivers.
Need to choose other brand.
Same problem as the original poster, anyone have an idea?
