Hi folks, I'm trying to use Mi BOX 3 with dell touchscreen monitor P2418HT.
On windows it's necessary a driver installation.
Anyone have an ideia how to make it possible to reconize it on Android?
I also installed Android on a notebook, (normal android, not the android tv), and also does not work....
Maybe write a small driver?
Thanks in advance!
Conclusion: does not work with linux and android.
This dell is not compatible. Even on windows is necessary drivers.
Need to choose other brand.
Same problem as the original poster, anyone have an idea?

Hi all,
I am wondering if it it would be possible with a kind of light virtualization tool, to run some very simple Windows applications (a .exe file with no installation required, no registry, no .dll, etc.) within Android.
Of course it would'nt be to use it on a smartphone but on a tablet.
Does it already exist ?
Use Bosch (I think that's what it's called) and install windows 95/xp.

There are emulators like Bochs and DosBox that will emulate an x86 system. But its going to be pretty slow feeling. ARM and x86 use different instruction sets so everything has to basically be translated between the two which slows things down. If its a modern or big program you'll be better off running through a remote desktop program.
Thanks Guys,
In fact it is only simple .exe files which don't need powerful calculations.
But you mean that it will need to install a full Window OS ?
I'll have a look to these two softwares you mentionned.

Yeah, but you might be able to use a slimmed down version of the OS though.

Yes you would need to install a emulated OS which is probably limited to Windows 9x or older. I don't think there is anything out there that can emulate the newer non DOS based versions of Windows like 2000, XP, etc.
WINE works without installing an OS since its x86 on x86. Makes you wonder if it would be possible to build WINE for Android x86.
Well then, these solutions are too heavy for what I want to do.
I don't want to emulate a full OS.
Maybe later, if there are more and more needs like mine, some developpers (or Google itself) will create such a too to run some simple Windows apps on Android without installing Windows...
Hello everyone
I have recently bought the Navon Raptor 7 and now I'm having some issues.
The internal storage is a bit too small for the apps I want to install and I would like to make the SD-card the default install location.
I know there's ways to do it though ADB, but I just can't get any of the drivers for the rk3066 working.
Most of them say that they couldn't find the correct software for my device or that the driver was found but that there was an error during installation.
My operating system is Windows 8 64-bit
Thanks in advance
nobody here?
So there is nobody knowing something about that?
Hi to all Ubuntu Touch MOBiLE and Ubuntu PC users, testers...
I am hesitating to change to this OS on both upper listed devices , so phone and pc also...
I had also some experinences with Linux / Ubuntu OS in PC, but the touch version is new und untested for me. My mobile device is listed in compatibility list, so its all ,,open,, to test it and pair with Ubuntu PC.
Im moment im using Windows PC with Android Phone (work), so i need to reinstall both systems.
Has somebody experince to pair Mobile device and PC , both with Ubuntu OS and managed the mobile phone from PC ? I ,,saw,, this option on promo video of Ubuntu Phone. I think its shouold be something like ,,HandOff,, on Apple products... But i need to be 100% sure, and i need to know all information about this function.
The reason , why im asking my question is, that im using android Phone for work daily ! I NEED to READ / WRiTE SMS from PC, and sometimes editing the contacts in my phone. So this is the MAJOR function, that im using yet with combination of Windows PC and Android Phone , with MyPhoneExplorer software/client. This combination works without problems !
The only reason to try to change is my aversion of Android phone, the old not upgradable Android version and of course the costs by Windows PC. If its the a free option to make a change to better, modern, than why not.. I think all users here knows the advantages of free open source OS, so i doesnt need to extend this think...
First , sorry for my English , and then..
Thank you in advance for your repyes , comments !
Ron
Hi,
Sadly, that's not possible yet. There's nearly no advantage in connecting an Ubuntu phone to an Ubuntu PC at the moment.

Hey,
I'm interested in getting this tablet to run Windows, to my understanding you require a BIOS.
Seeing as how there is literally a counterpart tablet made with Windows (Dell Venue 8 Pro), wouldn't it be possible to figure out how to throw that BIOS onto here?

Hi
I recently installed Remix OS to my Asus X502C laptop and it all seemed really quick and easy so I decided to try it out on my old Linx 7 Windows Tablet and my iRulu Windows W1005 however I just cannot seem to get it to work.
I can get it installed to either the hdd or a bootable USB drive but when I choose the Android OS to boot from I get varying errors of missing things etc and then it hangs on a black screen.
I have also tried various other Android images listed to work on Windows tabs and other installers; Rufus, the Androidx86 installer 2.4 from a thread on this forum etc..
I can run MEmu no problem on my iRulu but I really would like a dual boot on it or just single boot on the Linx 7, I am a member on the Linx forum and Reddit but the Android discussion seems to be dead on there and guides/files are missing but people have said they have had Android running.
Can anyone point me to something that will work?
Thanks in advance for any help.
