Hi,
I have a redmi note 4( snapdragon version), rooted and have installed resurrection remix 5.8.4. I have an issue with deleting a particular obb file. I had sideloaded gta vc. After completing the game, I uninstalled the game but the obb file did not get deleted. I tried deleting it but it shows an error message that the file cannot be deleted. Tried deleting it using a pc but it still did not work. Even tried using twrp file manager but the obb folder contents were not even shown.
Any help is appreciated
Have you tried deleting it with root rights given to your file explorer? What error are you getting?

Try deleting the file using TWRP
I tried deleting it with root rights but it still does not work. With some explorers, it says that file cannot be deleted. With other explorers, it just doesn't say anything. In TWRP, the contents of the obb folder inside android folder is not shown. It is shown blank.

So potentially you have a corrupted file. I guess the simplest solution will be format data, but also you can try deleting it using the terminal
rm /path/to/file
rm -r /path/to/folder
Try running the command with su
It says permission is denied

Are you able to move the file using a file manager? If so then just move it to some media and format it
When I move the file, it just copies to the new location. Cut and paste don't work. But the copied file gets deleted.

Format your data from twrp. That's the only thing

Format your data only if you feel bugged about the folder. If you don't care about it's present, you can leave data formating for some other day

Bro , i see that you have used dualboot patcher. When you dual boot 2 nougat roms, the. Obb gets corrupt.
Onlyvway to fix is by formatting DATA by twrp ..
Make sure to backup everything and make twrp backup to sd card as your internal memory will be cobpletely erased.
Dont dual boot same android versions. You can dual boot an nougat and oreo .
I didn't use dual boot patcher. I got only 1 nougat rom running.

Problem solved
I booted TWRP and deleted the files from /data/media/obb (instead of /sdcard/media/obb).
I got back 5 GB of space I was about to format data and lose everything then I deleted the empty folders from any file explorer
This is a MIUI bug. Enable Mock SD card optimization from Developers Options when you want to delete obbs. But disable it later because it decreases performance.
I fixed it by formatting my internal storage.

Hi:
Have successfully re-rooted my NT, and am now trying to block OTA using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405418
But cannot get files to move to Titanium Backup Folder. No matter what I do, I get the below error message. I have tried moving files via USB, rebooting and trying to move via USB, and shutting down Nook and removing MicroSD card and attaching directly to my computer.
What gives? Can anyone tell me what's wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks!

thats weird... hve you tried with drop box or es eplorer?
I just installed it.
I moved zip file to folder on SDCard then extracted using ES - that worked.
However, when I restored backup, I still have 1.4.0 .
What did I do wrong?
I tried redownloading the unzipme file but when I try to extract the contents, it tells me it is a null file.
That must be a hint of some sort!
I had the same problem. The root cause was that I couldn't copy directly from within the windows "virtual zip folder" to the sdcard. I had to first extract the files to another directory on the computer and then copy from there to the sdcard.

I tried that, but it didn't work. I was able to shift the files into the folder using ES (as noted above), but the version didn't change.
Just looked in my Titanium folder and there are 5 files, btw.

Are you sure you restored the right one? Perhaps you should move them all out of the TB folder and try again.

It's a good question-- I did indeed restore the wrong one! Went back and restored the 12/22 version rather than the 12/26 (today's) and voila! I have version 9.9.9.
thank you SO much! So obvious, but....

Hi, I'm using an LG Optimus L9 and running 4.3 bassed PAC-man rom.
The internal memory is 4GB and after installing a few apps, I started getting "Not enough storage space" warnings.
So, I checked the /data folder and found that there's directory called lost+found which is taking up a lot of space (Above 1.5GB).
I tried deleting files using ES Explorer with the data folder mounted as R+W, but it says "error deleting files"
Is it safe to delete the lost+found folder?
And if yes, how can I delete it since I'm unable to delete it with a file explorer app.
It would be really great if could recover thelost internal memory

The output was "rm failed for lost+found. Operation not permitted"
Also tried this mounting /data as rw but no luck.
Tried chmod 775 on lost+found but no luck either.

Using TWRP.
If I backup first, it will also back up the lost+found data
And restoring data will bring it back.
I did format data and system before flashing the rom. So I don't know why the lost+found has so large size.
What should I do?

hmm, i'll try flashing CWM and then do a format of every partition and freshly flash the rom.
Will report back if there's the same problem.
UPDATE:
Formatted all the partitions including /data/media using CWM
Did a fresh install of rom.
I've got my internal memory back
Thanks!
my 2 cents...
my 2 cents... I've opened the lost+found folder with the file manager (this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm), after enabling the root explorer functionality, and deleted a bunch of the biggest files, just checking they were at least 2-3 months old. Rebooted to make sure everything is fine and dandy, and now I've got enough free space, sun is chirping, birds are shining, life is beautiful :silly: :victory:

I was having the same problem. My phone is Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-i9100). I was on stock Jellybean. But it was starting to feel sluggish and slow. So, having heard about the new Android Kitkat's lower memory requirements and smoother performance, i decided to install Cyanogenmod 11 on it.
Installation was not without problems. At first i flashed Clockworkmod Recovery 6.0.2.9. The phone bricked into a bootloop with a yellow triangle on it. Flashing the Cyanogenmod 11 resulted an error of "Status 7". So i searched for the latest Clockworkmod Recovery, which was at 6.0.4.5. After flashing the 6.0.4.5, Cyanogenmod 11 installed successfully. Performance was really smooth. No lags, no jitter, and everything worked like a charm.
The problem started when i re-installed my applications. Suddenly i got a message of "insufficient storage". This has never happened before. Note, that i previously had large games on my phone like Real Racing 3 and Bard's Tale. This time, i haven't even installed those large games. So i looked at my Storage, and found out that i only had 141mb of free space. But the weird thing is, my reported Apps was only 353mb, from 1.97GB internal storage. So there was over 1GB of storage just vanished.
I browsed for a solution to this problem, and landed on this thread. After reading reply from fabiosirigu, i decided to brave myself, and deleted the content of the lost+found folder (but not the folder itself). I accessed the folder with the built-in File Manager from Cyanogenmod, and set it to "Root Access Mode", and select all folder in the folder, and deleted it. The deletion took quite a few minutes, which felt like ages. Just sat on my bed, crossed my fingers, hoped that nothing will go wrong.
After the deletion, i rebooted my phone. the cyanogenmod logo appeared, and the system booted as usual. I just exhaled a massive sigh of relieve. I went straight to the internal storage, and now it is showing the correct report, 1.67GB of free space.
Thank you for your reply fabiosirigu. Really solved my problem.
lost+found genesis
Let somebody correct me if I'am wrong.
lost+found directory is standard for some unix/linux filesystems. All ext(s) 2, 3 and 4 contains it by default.
The operating system collects unidentified, broken files and its parts inside of l+f dir.
No one of these junks is used by running system.
So - you can look in l+f for some lost, missing files. If you don't miss for any (who knows it better?) then you don't need l+f content.

Compress your TWRP backup using archiver into a single zip (or split it into several zips if the compressed archive bigger than 4 GB to avoid later problems). Transfer the zipped file into your computer. There are many archiver tools found on Play Store.

1. try deleting with solid file explorer. move the file somewhere else then delete. if the filename is too large, then rename it to anything small, then delete.
2. if no success, backup everything to pc, then wipe dalvik+cache+data+system+internal storage via twrp.
then "format data" in twrp.
copy rom and other stuffs to a usb otg drive or microsd and flash what you need.
hope this will help.
U must hava root for this and a root explorer. Go to the device/data/media/obb, here u will see a copy of obb data files exactly like your internal storage. Just delete it and you are good to go. Try it and thank me later if u want.

Hello,
I have the same problem. It took me all day to finally install twrp recovery since I hadn't turn USB debugging on. I finally was able to do it and i deleted the 5 password files - but now my phone is in a bootloop. I wiped the usual data like Dalvik and cache, but it didn't change a thing.
Also, after I deleted this and took a lot on my File Storage, and navigate to /data/system, where i deleted the password files, there is NOTHING but one thing called "storage.xml".
What am I supposed to do now? I dont know what to do anymore, I have so many things already.

Flash a new Rom . Or you can ask for files in data/system from anyone to upload it on cloud from there you can download and copy those files into system folder it might work without losing a byte of data.

Just flash this file with the TWRP and you're done!
