Hey! I have galaxy s3 with dead screen and now I want to sell it to someone. But before that I want to remove all the data from it or maybe copy it to my pc if possible. My pyone turns on but only the screen is dead basically cant see anything. So whats the best way to copy/remove all the data from my phone? Lockscreen has pattern enabled too. Thanks in advance. I need urgent answer as ill be selling it in 1-2 days.
Flash it twice with a stock rom.

Flash rom via odin??
@Samir2298: try to get adb-access before flashing anything. Google for adb-mini-package. If your device is recogniced on PC, you can copy your data by 'pull', delete them on device and overwrite the free memory with dummi-data.
Afterwards, flash firmware with Odin.
Flashing the exact same firmware via odin will replace all the broken software without deleting your data. As to whether it'll remove the lockscreen is another issue but it is the 9nly way I know of without twrp, of which you'll need a working screen.
If you don't have USB debugging on then you're not going to get far with a pc and adb. If you DO have usb debugging enabled then do as the other member said.

Dead screen + lock pattern + USB debugging disabled = pay a local phone repair guy (or your buyer) to temporarily connect a S3 screen > unlock it > connect to his PC & copy data to thumb drive & factory reset.
Sales price - guy's fee = profit.
Or working S3 turned off side-by-side with broken one for temporary screen assistance as per more or less post #18 from which the photo in the attachment was taken from: https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...w-transfer-files-galaxy-s3-broken-screen.html
And please edit your thread's title & add some significant keywords like for example: Urgent help! Broken Screen & Lock Pattern
Otherwise XDA's forum would be filled with thousands of meaningless Help!!! threads.

I'd call it a day and lose the data...
What about connecting it up to a TV using an MHL lead? Theyre pretty cheap on ebay and can be used on other devices.

So yeah as the title states my internal screen is completely scattered, I can't use touch anymore nor see anything. But when my device is turned on and I connect it via Usb to my PC I hear the Usb connection sound. My Device is rooted and I think the debug mode is unfortunately deactivated.
Is there any way I can recover my Music and Pictures? Maybe through recovery mode? Or just a programm that bypasses the lockscreen?
I tried a lot hope someone can help me!
Thanks in advance!

Is there no way?
You should be able to use ADB to copy your stuff from your phone to your PC, and you won't need to guess what's on the phone's screen while you're doing it. Lots of tutorials on how to use it on here/elsewhere (search).

I searched about 2 hours for solutions. The problem is usb debug mode isn't activated on my phone so ADB doesn't recognize my device..
You're pretty much boned then & you're going to have to guess where you are in recovery (if you're someone who flashes roms & messes around with your phone I can't see why you wouldn't have USB debugging on by default).
No easy fixes. Unless you want to wait until you've replaced the screen.
Edit - What buttons you need to press to get to where you need to be in recovery in order to mount the card will depend on what version of recovery you have given many kernel builders modify it. Find someone using the same kernel as you & ask them to help you navigate your way thru.

It was a fresh install of RR and so it wasn't activated at the night I destroyed it. Bad Luck I guess ^^ The problem is I won't replace the screen because I got a Galaxy Nexus for the same amount of money the new screen would cost..
So the buttons are not the same in every RR recovery?
Depending on which version of CWRecovery the kernel has/how (if) the kernel dev has modified it will determine how many button presses & how you have to go up/down through menus.
Post in the RR discussion thread & ask someone to walk you through as I suggested yesterday.
Yeah I understand what you mean about the cost to replace the screen Vs cost of a new phone.

What do you want to do ? Recover data store on the phone or just use it ?
If you only want to clean the phone and use it, remove the battery to power-off the phone. Then reboot into Recovery mode (Hold Volume Up + Home + Power buttons) and perform a Wipe Data/Cache.

read the OP, the home button isn't working.
Sorry, I haven't understand that the home button isn't working.
If you have proof of ownership, contact service center to fix it. If not, try to fix the problem by disassembling the phone !

^^ This.
That is all that you'll need, i seriously doubt they will put any barriers if you take proof of ownership and some proof of your friend's passing.
Dear friends,
Need help immediately
I have a stock s3 (un rooted, standard) that was recently updated with an official android update , it suddenly won’t accept my screen lock pin pot the update,
How ever I am able to receive calls,
One more strange thing is , after removing the sim card the phone still shows signal in the screen locked mode , though obviously I am unable to receive any calls
Also the phone is ghosting, its screen is coming alive on its own (to the lock screen)
I feel that the phone has a corrupt update or summin
More importantly
1. The phone is not rooted and I’m not Shure if the USB debugging is on or not
2. The phone has data which I do not want to loose
3. Im unable to download the ADT bundle (iv red somewhere that this is the only way to bypass it)
4. I want to know how I can unlock my phone to make a backup of all the data
5. I don’t mind rooting my phone (provided the lock screen allows me to do so)
I have a fair knowledge of rooting and ROM flashing etc, but am no expert , hence an amateur guide to phone unlock shall be immensely helpful
PL HELP

So you proceeded? Your backup will be created before we start clearing/deleting storage. Thats means you ca use the phone in any case and have a got chance to restore all necessarry data once the rom wotks again.
SO AS YOU READ GUIDE I SUPPOSE YOU REMOVED KIES AND OTHER USB SERVICES????

As u seen during the update --> someting can go wrong, but whats the point of deleting your data by yourslf or have may be a minimal risk getting data lost during root? Have you found another option to keep your files????

you probably need to be rooted by the way, cause you cant acces all directories. And pls post the guide you read, i wanna get some more knowledge too
How about your SIII ??
Hi.
My screen cracked and now I cant access files etc.
When I connect the cable to the pc the phone only charging since chargins is default :/
Any way to retrieve pictures, sms etc? Or transfer everything to a new android phone.
Are you rooted?
No:/
Is your bootloader unlocked?
If yes I think there is a way to take a full backup as an .img file
If not did you have backup to your Google account enabled? If yes just add your Google account on a new Android phone and select restore from latest backup during the setup wizard.
Is it unlocked by default?
Can I access the phone using command line or something? So i can enable file transfer.

It is locked by default for security purposes. Otherwise anyone with the technical knowledge would be able to access the contents of your device without the need to unlock it.
In order to create a system dump you need unlocked bootloader and root so you can make the appropriate mount points.
Best thing you can do is get the screen fixed and sell the phone... I work in a mobiles store that offer services like that. We buy broken phones, fix them, transfer the clients data to their new phone and sell the phone as a second hand device.... They must exist in your country too...
Too bad :/
I can unlock the phone with fingerprint, but I cant press on the screen to enable file transfer when the window pops up. Only getting charging. I will try to connect a mouse to the phone.
Solved.
Connected a mouse and could start samsung switch to transfer everything to a new mobile.
I would really like to enter recovery mode to do a hard reset of the phone. But there is no way to enter it :/

Simply reset the phone through settings, it will boot to recovery and wipe everything for you

My friend's mom has been declared brain dead today. She needs to access the phone of her mom, but she doesn't know the pin. Is there any other way we could access the phone without resetting it? There are some important memories on that phone. She doesn't know the google account or the samsung account of her mom. The only choice we have is pure bypass without losing any data. Please help us. Thank you.
PS. I had to state the situation for legality purposes.

Yes there is but do at your own risk !
1. You need PC with internet connection
2. Download Odin latest version is better : )
https://odindownload.com/download/
3. Original usb cable
4. Download CF autoroot
https://download.chainfire.eu/397/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.zip
Example how to flash :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soyOSl7eHQM
5. Download TWRP recovery
https://mega.nz/#!zJZ2jbZY!vqzkPGeP2GeFd3t8li2_p4DUOdnsRbezo30m06tC8yw
Steps is the same for flashing : ) .
6. Now make sure your phone is off!
Press Vol - , Home button and power button at the same time once you feel vibration release just power button until you see TWRP Recovery menu release all buttons . Now go to Advanced /File manager /Data / system now search and delete the following files: password.key and gesture.key . Now go to Reboot to System .
Good luck
