Hello,
After rooting my Mediapad M3 I installed Greenify. However, it doesn't seem to work. There are no apps listed in the app which I could greenify? What is wrong?

The opening page of Greenify after installation will not list any apps. You have to tap the + sign at top right and then select the apps to be hibernated. After such selection, the opening page of Greenify will show a list of the apps hibernated.

How to remove whats app from greenify? the new update doesn't show any option or may be I am missing something obvious. I don't want whatsapp to be hibernated
Did you try to highlight Whatsapp in the hibernated list and click the menu button? You will see the option to degreenify the selected app. Click that and it is degreenified.

In teh latest version when I highlight it then shows 2 options one is X another is zzZ I clicked on X so whats app is no more in hibernated list but I am still not getting messages unless I open whatsapp
which means it still is hibernated.
I got the message saying
"Despite degreenified apps still stay in hibernation until you wake it up by explicitly launching it" so I have opened it its not in the app list but still remains hibernated.
Am I missing something? cant I get whatsapp back out working normally?
Those options are for hibernating (zzZ) and cutting off the wake up path (not X but a scissor). What you should have done is to click the menu button (three vertical dots). Then you would have got the option for degreenifying. What you seem to have done is to cut off the wake up path.
You can try to clear the cache and data of Greenify and see whether Whatsapp works. But it will involve selecting all the apps again to greenify. Otherwise I think that you may have to uninstall and reinstall Whatsapp.
I am not an expert on this so wait for some more comments before attempting to do anything.
Actually new version changed a bit so I could not find those option, anyway Just restarted the phone & seems what app is running now, I can see it in running apps will wait to get a message, hopefully its working now.

IF you are facing similar problem in the future, you could actually backup your WhatsApp conversations (TiB or other backup tools you admire) and uninstall WhatsApp. After uninstalling, reboot, and then reinstall WhatsApp. Launch WhatsApp first and then attempt backup restore for your WhatsApp app.
This is a known problem and proved to some people faced it. Unfortunately however, Greenify has no way to fix this, as this is much more in behalf of WhatsApp's fault. You can search in the old thread if you are interested.
Remove Apps from Auto-Hibernation
1. Open Greenify App
2. Look for the app you want to keep open under the "Pending Manual Hibernation" list.
3. Press AND HOLD the app for a few seconds.
4. When new menu appears across the top, press the "X" button to remove it from the auto-hibernate list.
This is for Greenify App v2.8.1 on Android (Galaxy Note 5 on AT&T Network).
Trying to de-greenify stopwatch/timer app
I have a stopwatch and timer app which does not sound its alert when Greenify is active. If I force stop Greenify I get the alerts. The app does not show on Greenify's list of hibernated apps , even when a timer is in progress, so I can't work out how to de-greenify it.
Any ideas?

- if on MM/Nougat remove app from optimize list using ROM interface
- avoid using aggressive/shallow doze (experimental features)
Seems to me like it's only possible to pick apps, to greenify with a tasker task, that has an icon in the launcher, otherwise you cannot find/select them.
Any workaround? I only wanna greenify the app per demand
Hi

i use one plus 5T rooted dit magisk

Same here, I cant select apps to hibernate from within the tasker plugin. The "wake up app" option also doesn't work on my phone. When i try it from my table i get a error message saying "Waking up xapp is not supported yet"
I have the donation package and have enabled the hibernation of system apps and I have root and Xposed, yet chrome is not available in the lists to be hibernated among the system and non system apps. Why is this?
I am on a Nexus 5X

I don't have such an issue. Which version of Greenify do you have? I have 2.8 beta9.
there is a checkbox "show all" on the top right when you are in the list to add new apps, then chrome will show up. This was on my SGS6....
Hi,
I'm running greenify (donation version) on a nexus 10 running CM13 release, and I can't get auto hibernation to work.
All i get from greenify are notifications listing apps that can be manually hibernated.
On my other devices (all rooted) auto hibernation works fine. Yes I do have root access turned on in CM13, and greenify has root access.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

no idea, how can I tell?
Right now I'm inclined to say "Whatever is the default", since I'm not conscious of making any changes to any settings about screen lock methods.
after some observation time I can see that it's always the amazon apps (amazon video, kindle, amazon app store, amazon music) that are not automatically hibernated.
...the strange part is that they go to sleep with greenify just fine on my other devices, none of which runs cyanogen.
edit: just saw several google apps from the gapps package in the list as well.
same problem as yours automated hibernation not work.

Are you absolutely sure they don't hibernate after awhile? You probably have the setting "Quick Action Notification" turned on and that is what you are seeing? I have both the Nexus 4 and 7 running CM13 and hibernation works on them just fine, however the notification does show the option of manual hibernation as well. I don't worry about it anymore and let Greenify deal with it.
On a side note, I noticed the beta update yesterday does keep my devices "dozing" better.

---------Update on 2017-12-10----------
I spent some time on this issue these days and made a little progress. Here is what I found:
I am using Island (com.oasisfeng.island), which is also an Oasis Feng's project, to manage some apps which ask too much permissions and do not use GCM as push serivce.
The progress listed in the quick action menu are actually installed in "island", but are also recognized as "mainland" apps. They were once installed in the "mainland" and added to the Greenify, but already been moved to "island". So Greenify could not stop an app that did not exist.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
1. Install Amap (com.autonavi.minimap) and Alipay (com.eg.android.AlipayGphone) into "mainland" and "island";
2. Add both of the four apps into Greenify;
3. Remove them from "mainland";
4. In Island app, freeze then unfreeze these two apps;
5. The quick action notification menu should look like this:
https://i.imgur.com/0weJIRj.png
As you can see, the apps that were installed in the "island" are tagged with "(in Island)", but there are also two apps, which should have already been removed from "mainland", listed in there. And "hibernate all" function would do nothing to them, because they were actually not exist.
I'm not sure it's a bug with Greenify or Island, or even both.
Temporary Fix:
1. Install the apps that can't be hibernated into "mainland";
2. Remove them from Greenify;
3. Uninstall these apps from "mainland".

Device: BlackBerry PRIV (STV100-1)
System: Adroid 6.0.1
Greenify: 3.8.5
Island: 2.5.0/2.5.2
Issue
All apps that were added to Greenify were listed in the quick action notification menu, even if they were already been hibernated.
When did this issue came out?
Recent update.
What do you expect?
Is there a way to set this function to list running apps only like before?

Not seeing this; QAN working as before. Might be config/device/rom specific. Greenify 3.8.5 on Android 7.1.2 w/Xposed (official).

Thanks for the additional details. Island is "Early Access" with clear notations around potential instability. It's up to the developer to take note of this thread and address any issues he feels are pertinent. It looks like you have identified a workaround; hopefully that will benefit others while things get sorted.
