Hi guys! So, today I bought a "barely used" LG G6 at what seemed like a pretty good price at the time. I was pretty happy with it until I realized it won't install some of the apps and claims they're incompatible with my device. Well, then I realized that I've been ****ed over big time and that the bootloader has been unlocked. I probably don't have a valid warranty now, do I?
Since I never poked around Android phones, all of the information I found on re-locking the bootloader seem pretty vague and incomprehensible to me. And the only video I found of a guy re-locking the phone just shows the phone in front of him and him mumbling stuff that's he's just doing on his computer, not actually showing the computer screen so I can at least begin to figure out what he's talking about. In short, I need "re-locking the bootloader on LG G6 for dummies". I really don't have a clue how it goes or what I'm supposed to to, so I would appreciate any help you may provide.
Anyone?

First of all: Never re-lock your boot loader if you have a custom recovery installed!
When flashing the stock rom (KDZ) to your LG device you will loose all your data, so make a backup to a computer!
After flashing your stock rom, you first re-lock the bootloader because it will delete all user data (again)
And guides can be found here in this tread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/help/how-to-properly-flash-kdz-t3707861
When you have downloaded the proper KDZ for your phone and installed LG usb drivers and LG up visit this tread to install uppercut: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295
Goodluck, read carefully and you will manage it!:good:

i recently broke my last phone, so i had it replaced and this one is running 2.3.6, i tried using that black white screen (cmd?) with the options ex: 1. unlock root etc.
2. CWM install/root etc etc. x. debugging etc
but no luck ._. is there some guide somewhere?
when i reach the rsd lite portion of the first section, my phone just boots up into the os and rsd lite gets cancelled, any ideas? ( i chose 2.3.4)when i first got it, i could do everything fine, but i couldnt boot after installing 3 different roms.
but when i install clean software it works just as it should
and when i press apply fix for "failure to boot" etc. it unlocks fine, but i cant install roms without it freezing at the dual core screen
Sounds like you got a replacement that motorola locked down the bootloader on. Everything will go as planned but you wont get unlocked. Been happening more and more to people getting replacement phones. Until a different way of unlocking is found (other the sbf flashing or fastboot flashing the unlock files) youre stuck with stock, but you can root. Bad luck.

how do i fastboot flash the unlock files? and since this phone is older, would anyone even try unlocking the newer models?
and im VERY disapointed in these new models, mabye its just mine, but on mine, the screen is litterally popping out, and theres a faint white square that borders the actual lcd, and the on/off/fingerprint scanner barely has any click so its hard sometime to know if u pressed it or not .... damn you moto, im not buying another one of your phones after this one, HELLO GS3 :d

If youre already seeing those type problems, you might want to notify warranty department again. Sounds like a dud replacement. As for the fastboot thing, check out the stockier noob guide first then search for those files. I dont have them anymore or I'd pass em to you.
Sticky, not stockier
I can help you using the same process I went through with my phone, but I have to warn you I won't be responsible for anything that happens to your phone. If interested PM me

Hey, so I've looked through these forums, as well as google search, with every combination of words i could think of to address my issue, and so far nothing has worked. So im posting here, hoping y'all can help me.
My phone is the Lg optimus L9 p769 running FW v20h. I had it rooted, bootstrapped cwm recovery is installed and still accessible. Unfortunately for me, i had disabled usb debugging off. Cant remember why, but I did.
I was browsing around for build.prop tweaks, found a good list, and implemented a few. After reboot, everything was going smoothly, hell, faster and smoother than before, which i assume came from tweaking the build.prop. At that point, i chose to implement 1 more and be done. So i added the line and rebooted my phone. SOFT BRICK!!!!!
Now, as i said, ive done quite a bit of searching for a fix, including the offline fix and basic LG Support Tool restoration, but nothing is working. Offline fix says my phone is not connected. Online recovery says im already at the most recent FW available. Ive tried fastboot, but installing the u boot and x loader wont work. CMD doesnt recognize my phone when i try anything adb related (obviously, because usb debugging isnt enabled), nor does it recognize my phone as a fastboot device even with the phone displaying the mirrored logo and says fastboot v0.5 in the top right corner. Also, the bootstrap CWM wont mount my external SD, which has my build.prop backup on it.
So, basically, that what I've read into. A wall, so to speak. As a side note, my wife has the same phone with an unmodified build.prop. in fact, the only thing that i have done to hers is root it with the LGpwn app.
Now, is there anything i can do with this, other than throwing it against the pavement outside? While i think I'd get a sick satisfaction from that, it hardly solves my problem. Also, i called LG directly, but they won't help me at all without payment. Even with their CS rep saying it was their fault (because, of course, I'm not dumb enough to tell them I broke it by messing with the build.prop). However, the slight bit they did do remotely through the laptop had them going through the LG Service Tool.
Anyway, that's about it. It really is a great phone and i really would like to repair, rather than replace, it, but im stuck. Anyone got any ideas?
Hello,
I had a similar problem, offline method didnt worked for me saying that my device is not connected. Then I faund this tool on forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
Use it with described tutorial (use 3GQCT and DIAG) and you are going to unbrick your phone.
Ok, I'll give it a try when i have access to the neighbors laptop again. I'll post the results here. Fingers crossed, my phone is up and running again soon and I'll be able to post my results from my unbricked phone.
IT WORKED!!!!!
Holy hell, it worked! A week of searching and trying with no success, now my phone is up and running again! Thank you sooooooooooooo much! Can i get a solved tag?
You're welcome. I'm glad I could help
UPDATE: Read this!
TLDR: Don't flash 20j update and try to revert....== HARD BRICK
Long version:
The new 20j update has the Anti-Rollback feature tag set that you can NOT revert back to 20e.......You will HARD BRICK your V10 if you do so. I have...and a few others have.
I was on Eliminater74 20e rom, which is excellent. But he released a P1 .zip for the new 20j update. This contains new bootloader etc. (no P2 which is the actual rom for 20j yet.)
This will boot on 20e, but users (myself included) noticed video issues with YouTube and soon after, others reporting that video recording is broken now.
Naturally, we thought to revert and flash back to the 20e bootloader P1. zip.......and that caused HARD BRICK. Phone gets stuck in Qualcomm Emergency Bootloader mode that is not recoverable.
FIX: Contact " tungkick" http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4965298
He helped me un-brick phone. No data was lost! Was quite easy actually. ( I don't see his methods or files he used released here on XDA publicly) (if it is i'm blind.) So don't ask me...contact "" tungkick" .
See post here for instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development/debrick-phone-h901-qualcomm-9008-t3440359
I did the same thing, flash tool isnt picking up phone either, I think we are hard bricked at this point...

I flashed V10_H901_V20J_Stock_BootStock_Part1_20160810.zip ...that booted fine. But then I used pheon for a while and noticed YouTube was having issues of videos freezing but audio playin...a few others posted they had the same thing.
So I booted to TWRP and flashed the olde rP1 .zip for the orginal bootstock and hit reboot system and no...Nothing!
Black screen. No vibrate when I try vol down + power. When i try Vol up and connect usb to my computer...It shows "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM8). LG Up says it cant find anything.
Usb device descriptor failed in Device manager when I do vol down and plug in.
I have no idea what do? Help? I have been searching a few forums, but not really sure what is happening.

I was just about to start a new thread asking if I could flash back to previous marshmallow. Anti rollback may be in effect. If you have all the correct drivers installed it sounds to me like a hard brick. Hopefully I'm wrong and someone can help you

And....I assume a hard brick is very bad...not easy to fix? I messed up my G3 once, but at least it would show some sign of life.
I am not at all experienced with adb or fastboot..and how to get all that to work...I have tried, but with no success. Don't suppose there is someone I can send my phone to have it unbricked?
Same predicament here
Sent from my SM-T337T using XDA-Developers mobile app
Oh guys.... I am pretty sure that I've read around here and there that when you get that Qualcomm message you're not recoverable. I surely hope I'm wrong!
Sent from my pretty nifty brand new LG V10
Yea....it sucks. I have literally been up all night trying every method I can to recover from the Qualcomm Emergency Bootloader mode I'm stuck in. There are some LG programing tools that seem to be fake/scam by some user...but those were for the G3 and G4 anyway. Nothing I tried worked.
Just bought the V10 2 months ago used off swappa, already rooted, twrp etc..about $300. Just got the thing all setup the way I wanted it too...sigh. THis is what I get for not being patient and seeing what others experience before flashing something so new.
I was slightly aware of an "Anti-rollback" thing,,,but had no idea it would apply to same and inter-version version of OS. I still don't get why flashing the 20j bootstack on top of the current 20e rom would have caused the video freezing of youtube issue. Standard troubleshooting measures dictated to flash back to the 20e Bootstack to see if the issue went away(I have flashed back and forth bootstack etc on my G3 before with no issues).
Whelp......I guess myself and the other user (SIGMAxB) the 2 confirmed hard bricks served as the community warning........and my very first hard brick and loss of a device in such a fashion. THankfully, I was able to find last night another used V10 on Swappa that is already root and TWRP...for slightly less money that what I paid for my now bricked device. Least I had made an LG backup last week, and all my data is on the External SD card...but still gonna be annoying to have to start over......
Any mad scientist or master flasher who knows how to recover such a bricked device... I would be interested in sending it to them to fix....(I doubt T Mobile will give me a new one, nor wil LG Service the device. It's still under LG warranty, but their site requires u upload a copy of the receipt, and their terms state only covers original owner. So used phone off Swappa.....does not qualify. )
Dropped off my phone at a place called CPR (Cell Phone Repair). Thier location near me is more advanced than most others in that they can do data recovery and software kind of things. They said they may be able to fix phone, but he isn't very sure. Said there will be some techs in tomorrow that are more advanced that may be bale to help. I personally don't have much hope, but worth a shot at this point.
Until then...using my Moto X Pure for now...while I wait for the replacement V10 i bought off Swappa to arrive.
That really bites man.....I'm sorry.
I'm a prepay customer....they have different policies for us vs post paid customers.
I called 611 and got transferred around a bit. But finally got them to process a warranty exchange. I have to ship them the phone and they will send me a new one....hopefully. They didn't mention anything about a charge.
So at least I have that option to pursue should CPR place fail to reflash phone.

I did the same thing. It really sucks because I been doing this for over 5 years and this is my first brick. I guess thats what we get for having faith in a developer that should of known or properly tested this before putting a rom out.

While I agree that things should be tested...or otherwise noted that it has or hasn't been so.... (OP does have Status: Testing posted)
It wasn't the rom, his 20e rom runs great. But the updated P1 20j(bootloader)zip....it was the act of reverting and flashing the previous Bootloader version that caused the Hard Brick.
Until this point, I (and many others here) had not seen anything about the Anti-Rollback feature being an issue while on the same Android OS version (LP or MM builds). Now we know it is.
Additionally, the other posts on Eliminater74, rom forum....are indeed users reporting issues with the 20j zip...(mainly Video recording and YouTube streaming). However, the phone is not bricked.
Unfortunately, it's on us folks who flashed it right after it was released and then tried to revert who got screwed. It is definitely a good idea to wait a few days after something is posted to be sure others, mainly early adopters, don't report issues. If your phone is mission critical and you can not be without it or risk having a issue, then modding is not what you should be doing. Or at the very least, once you do get something flashed and stable.....stick with it (that voice in the back of my head was telling me this when i decided to try the update).
I am not sure as to how Eliminater74, had tested the P1 20j bootstack flashed to his 20e rom....but yes,,,,it does suck that this happened...but I am kicking myself in the head...not the dev. At least mine and the 2 others gave him waring and he was able to post a big red warning on the OP. Though I would suggest he remove the 20j part.....but that is up to him.
Least i had a backup phone to make use of until i can get a new V10...very annoying to have do so...but its something.
PS: I am actually starting to like my Moto X Pure more. Dual front facing speakers really nice. ON stock rom now, but used Bliss or while....that's is very nice and super tweakable. Screen isnt has sharp as the v10....and camera is just super basic. I also miss tap to unlock and the other LG specific features...but stock android is growing on me. The BT toggle has a dropdown to select devices to connect to right there, very convenient.
I'm definitely buying LG phones
this latest LG phone

left my phone with a place called CPR, Cell Phone Repair. I doubt they will be able to do anything with it. But once i get it back...probably tomorrow if they don't get back to me. I will see about that. Although, I did get t-mobile to approve an exchange, but i have to ship them my phone back first.
Just got a replacement V10 used off of Swappa. It already has Eliminator rom on it, though not sure what build. Attempting to restore my backup file to it.

I also am assuming you don't want me or others spreading this to others.

This phone was purchased from Walmart and obviously they are no help. Went to a Boost Mobile and a Verizon store and neither one could do anything either (BTW huge props to Verizon on their customer service). I need to know how to clear this phone of all prior information (which is seems that a factory reset from within the OS does not do) and also how to get into the bootloader. Normal physical button methods like power+volume down or up or all 3 just make it say "official" on the screen and then it boots anyway. How do I hack this thing? I've gotten into literally hundreds of Android phones that were bricked and this is the first time I have had this new problem and I don't know where the blame lies. Even if there is a halfway legit custom ROM I could put on the thing, I don't know, I've tried everything I can think of. Can anyone help?
Thank you in advance!

You can get to fastboot via adb. I can't get the bootloader to unlock tho.
@adrenatek, I know this is a belated reply, but I just got one of these devices myself and wanted to chime in. Let me see if I understand correctly: are you stating that, after performing a factory data reset, your userdata remains intact on your device? Or, did you get it figured out by now? Also, as to fastboot mode, adb reboot bootloader will get you there, but this device is not supported for OEM unlocking.
can anyone tell me if i can unlock the BL of C3505L..
Hello! So awhile ago, I decided to try to root my new phone, ensuring model and etc was correct (CPH2459, this should be the usa unlocked variant right?) annddddd... it did not turn out so well. I had a friend recommend I reset- (which I mean I don't see what that would do but I have bootloader already unlocked so..) which just led me to being stuck on the setup screen where i cant get past wifi without my phone restarting- without fail to that as well. Also like touchscreen didnt work half the time and physical keys (Power, Volume) didn't seem to respond when the device was on either (excluding for a hard restart).
I followed this guide step by step (in no way blaming those individuals) https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...guide-from-fastboot-obtain-root-more.4495801/ and my phone is now stuck in a fastboot loop.
I do wish to clarify that I am sure I followed step by step, I didn't make a backup though as the initial guide didn't present how to do so.
I'm honestly afraid to do anything more to my phone, and I really do need this to work as it just happens my other phone broke recently. Would appreciate any help so, very much, I have no idea what I'm doing and I haven't the slightest clue as to what may be wrong.
I do understand this question has been asked a bit with this phone and there are other threads, but I couldn't find my answer. So I'm hoping for some direct help.

I'm guessing you noticed that the link they posted for the downloaded ota is the gn22000 model correct? yours is CPH (as i saw you stated) so i was just double-checking to make sure you didn't download the wrong variant's ota..
