LG V30+ H930DS regional restrictions - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Fellow V30+ users and anyone else that has experience with recent LG devices, I have a H930DS from India that I use in HK now. It's the exact same model that's sold here in HK (I got it from India because of the lower price, which a first!).
Now, my problem is with VoLTE here. My carrier, CSL, supports this device and they even confirmed the same on call. It's duly listed on their website too. But, I do not get the toggle to activate it on my unit.
My software version says v10d-IND-XX, which clearly means it's meant for India. That could be the reason HK specific carrier information is missing on my device? This is my first LG device after almost 5 years, so I have no clue how LG does things firmware-wise. Samsung CSC stuff makes it possible to change regions, I know nothing about how LG devices work in that regard.
Does anyone have any information how I could go about fixing this situation? Can I change my region to HK? It's the exact same device, exact same software otherwise.
Thanks in advance!

I have exact problem in reverse, I have an h930ds from HK, using it in India. My carrier Airtel supports Volte but I can't see the volte toggle in my setting.
Any suggestions?

I'm planning to call up LG service on Monday and ask them directly. Normally, it's supposed to check the SIM and region on every boot and get carrier specific information accordingly (if that particular model is supported by the particular carrier of course). That's what Sony devices do.

So I reached out to LG support and after 3 days of back and forth, they came back with nothing. They have no idea if the region can be changed. They asked me to contact LG India, I'm not going to bother with that because I'm more than certain they would be of no help either.

Great news!!
Okay.. I bring good news! You can definitely flash any KDZ as long as the model number is exactly the same. I flashed the HK Reginal kdz on my H930DS from India and I now have working VoLTE and VoWiFi.
In short, get the CORRECT kdz of the desired region for your model number, use LGUP, Upgrade option, and let it do its thing. Simple. This keeps the device official and under warranty.
PS - Please backup all data before doing this. Even though it is just an upgrade, play it safe. Just in case!

Great news, where can I download the software and kdz? Thanks

Here's the link: LG H930DS Firmware Downloads
Please double check your region code (link to code list is at the bottom of that page).
To find the LGUP, necessary DLL file and instructions, check here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75293530&postcount=1
IGNORE the driver linked in that post, see below for driver installation.
PS - BEFORE doing any of the above, make sure you install LGMobile Support Tool on your desktop. Get it from LG's website.
- choose language and region in the program
- select LGH930DS and let it install the correct drivers (do NOT have the device connected while doing this).
- Right after driver installation, it'll pop up two archive windows, install both the files from those windows (one window is right under another, don't be too quick to close out the windows!).
- Restart Windows, then open up the program again and connect your device to USB and let it recognise the device. You need to select MTP (file transfer) mode on your device from USB options.
Now close everything and follow this:
- Connect your device (make sure battery is above 60%)
- Launch LGUP
- Let LGUP recognise your device.
- Select UPGRADE
- Click on the blank space next to the BIN File box and select your KDZ
- Click Start
- Let it finish (You can see progress on LGUP and your device)
- Device will restart
- Profit!

Hello,
I wanted to ask about the warranty of the device. For instance, I get a V30+ imported from HongKong to my country INDIA & if unfortunately the device needs some kind of service or repair, will LG India accept the device under warranty or will I need to get the service done from LG HK?

Hi,
Does your device come with B&O earphones? & can you please brief me about the warranty of the device since it is from HK.

I am kinda confused, I am planning to buy V30+ and I have two options H930DS and V300S, not sure which one should I buy, I don't see enough development for any of these, V300S is Korean version which will definitely have Korean bloat, on the other hand the H930DS is dual sim and I have a very bad bootloop experience with LG G4 dual sim variant, here in UAE the price of V30+ is almost equal to Pixel 2 XL 64Gb variant.

[Q] Possible to change Lumia 800 firmware to another region?

Hi guyz,
I have a Nokia Lumia 800 with me of UK region and I dont mean just software wise. The actual phone was shipped from UK and the product code is 059J3G0
Now I reside in India and due to this region differences many of the features dont work especially USSD which is proving problematic since its difficult to even check my balance.
So is it possible to change my firmware to Indian version?
Thanks.
Possible very much, infact I have updated to the latest UK firmware, but will flash it back to the original White Lumia 800 firmware

Yes you can
1) goto seidea[dot]com and start off by downloading the Nokia Care Suit and Data Package Manager.
2) After installation of both also install the WinUSB driver from C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers or C:\Program Files(x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers
3) Connect your phone with the Nokia Support Tool for Store open, this programme will have a launcher in the main Nokia Care Suite, and should have detected your phone, disconnect cable, this might restart your phone, this is normal.
4) Next fire up the Data Package Manager and search for RM-801 in product type, this will return a bunch of different variations of the firmware. In the cell below Name type India and download any of the firmwares you want, possibly to match the colour of your phone as well.
5) After download fire up the Nokia Support Tool for Store, change it to offline mode at bottom right, or simply disconnect from the Internet, from the file menu, select Open Product and select product RM-801
6) From the bottom left pane, select Programming and then Recovery and select the new firmware you just finished downloading.
7) Flashing should take 5-7 minutes and leave the phone un-attended. Voila
Again I take no responsibility for any dammage to your phone, and you may download and flash any firmware from the entire list under RM-801 should not be a problem.
Additionally you may also want to take a backup from WP7 Easy Backup, google it or search the forums for it.

Prateek
mohib.sheth,
no problems at all, i´m from Brazil and i updated to test Tango one from Mexico and another from UK, both worked like a charm.

Another query is If I do flash to India firmware, will I get update from regular Zune or I will need to keep flashing to the latest firmware manually?
Zune should prompt the update ideally..

USSD is not supported (fully) in Windows Phone so as far as that goes changing to an Indian FW will not make any difference.

Current version is not available for user. can't find matched cust for NT-code mcc/mn

hello. on vodafone firmware 10d, i try to flash firmware kdz ver. 10e from wind or 10g from tim italy, but that is the advertisement i have after flashing and second reboot. i reset already but at every reboot the same advertisement. when i click on OK, the phone boots, but i want remove this error. can anyone tell me if is possible??
i use lg up
thanks
That's been covered plenty of times in the G5 (and even G3) forums, for example here:

If you use the search you'll find even more threads with it.
doesn't work the hidden menu access
with TWRP or root file explorer, navigate to root/cust and delete all folder content then reboot
you'll see message will no longer show up after reboot
i am not rooted
with no root there is no way as far as I know
hi, can you tell me where you found the v10g kdz? i only managed to find the wind v10e (and doesn't solve the direct sunlight issue)
thank you (anche in pm se vuoi)
v10g KDZ is only for some carriers
note: the base is kind of the same for lets say v10d OPEN EUR kdz and v10g carrier kdz, so thinking that installing v10g carrier branded version does not mean you are more updated then v10d OPEN EUR
Thank you!
I went to sell my G5 today, and the shop refused to buy it because of that pop-up on boot.
Just curious though, now I have erased the folder, what would happen if I -
a) Unroot
b) Relock the bootloader
I am on a global stock rom V-20v I believe.
I want my Virgin Moble UK G5 to think it's H3G in order to get WiFi calling to work. So instead of deleting all the files in '/cust' I updated op_list.cfg & cust_path_mapping.cfg by adding the missing MCC/MNC code from the error message and pointing them to the same place as the H3G entries, in my case
'23430,FF=/OP/H3G_COM'.
The phone now boots up without the 2 error messages (OP name by Buyer Code & Current version is not available) but I get the 'Buyer Code' message a few minutes after booting.
I'm not sure if changing the files, or deleting them is best. But with the files updated, looking at the Global Settings via ADB shows that wfc_ims_enabled=1

Piggybacking VoLTE and Wifi calling from XZ1 Compact USA firmware?

I have T-Mobile in the US, and they recently got rid of one of the bands my phone was relying heavily on, so I want to be able to do calls over wi-fi and VoLTE which is not currently a feature with the international firmware I have. Since the Z5 Compact hardware technically has the capability to do this with other carriers using the EE firmware, and the XZ1 Compact is specifically able to do this with T-Mobile with the US firmware, is there a way to either flash just the bits I need or root and install the whole XZ1 Compact ROM on my Z5 Compact?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, I've been reading about how folks buying the XZ1 Compact are flashing bits and pieces to get wi-fi calling and VoLTE working with the fingerprint reader (normally disabled in the US version), and thought if there's a trick I can do with my existing phone it might save me $500.
Z5 Compact stock rom already have VoLTE and VoWiFi function, but the option only appear if the network supports it, but probably not on the us firmware?

I have Hong Kong firmware that came with the phone. T-Mobile doesn't support the phone here in the US, but I did notice that there are firmware versions (Czech, Austrian, a couple others) that are T-Mobile branded. Is it worth a try to flash one of those (assuming it does include VoLTE), or for this purpose, would T-Mobile in another country be considered another carrier?
T-Mobile here in the US seems to be heading toward 100% VoLTE with only one 2G band left in my area. However, at least in the US, T-Mobile has not certified the Z5 Compact for VoLTE. I think the only Sony phone they've certified is the new XZ1 Compact. Does that mean I'm out of luck, or is there some kind of work-around?
I also have this issue, but I'm more of a noob to this than most people here, including the OP. I have a few fundamental (probably stupid) questions:

2.) How can I check exactly what firmware I have? I got an international version when I ordered it from Amazon, so I didn't even have to flash anything to enable the fingerprint sensor. I also know it was from a Spanish country because everything was in Spanish when I booted it for the first time. But how do I know verify which version it is exactly?
Also, OP, did you ever resolve this?
I don't use forums too much, so I have a feeling I'm going to be commenting here within the quote. Sorry about that. I hope this is helpful.

I called T-mobile, and this is what they told me. In fact, it was so bad for their customers in my area that they were offering a special deal on new phones just to people in my service area.
How do you track what band(s) your phone is using?
I can't remember the code I used, but google "hidden codes xz1 compact" and you'll find a service code to see the settings. Be careful not to use one that will reset the phone.

Both through speaking with their tech support and reading their press releases online.

I ended up buying an XZ1 Compact and flashed the firmware for the international version with one portion using the US firmware. What I originally wanted to do couldn't be done with the old phone.
I made myself a file of notes back the first time I was taking care of all of this. These are not my words, but direct quotes from various forums, but I didn't keep all the sources so I'm afraid I'm unable to cite them properly. However, before embarking on this process, I should tell you that I haven't had any push updates since I did this over a year ago, and I haven't figured out how to repeat the process to update with new firmware. Good luck!
You can probably try googling some phrases from these in quotes to find the original sources:
I tried just those two files and didn't have any luck.
ETA - man, am I dumb! I accidentally was flashing the system_X-FLASH-ALL-C93B.sin and vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-C93B.sin files from the US firmware instead of the CE firmware! Once I used the correct files, it worked perfectly.
So to summarize (and definitely do at your own risk!)
0) I backed everything up.
1) I didn't load drivers because I had them.
2) I followed the directions at the link below to get xperifirm and newflasher, then used xperifirm to download the Xperia XZ1 poplar roms for G8432 Central Europe 1
3) I copied the two files listed above to my newflasher directory.
4) I shut down the phone, waited 5 seconds, then held down the volume down key and plugged it into my PC using a USB A to C cord.
5) I ran newflasher as administrator, and chose N when it asked if I wanted to load a driver
6) When newflasher told me I was done, I unplugged the phone and started it up.
The fingerprint scanner works, group texting works, and my system is showing the same signal strength!
See my screens in the prior 2 posts. It's really much easier than what you are describing. Download the Customized UK firmware from Xperifirm. Download the Customized US firmware from Xperifirm. Copy the system sin file and vendor sin file from UK firmware and replace the files in US firmware with the copied files. Flash the modified US firmware using newflasher tool. Bingo!
So I decided to take the plunge on this with the XZ1 Compact at least. Not only do I have the fingerprint sensor working, but also WiFi Calling and VoLTE on T-Mobile US.
I took the oem_X-FLASH-ALL-C93B.sin from the US Customized version, and overwrote the one included with the UK (Device is UK Model) version, and then proceeded to flash with Newflasher.
Everything seems to be working without issue. I couldn't possibly enjoy this phone more now.
I am being a bit lazy and will refer you to XZ1 Compact thread. pbarrette has done amazing job with figuring out all the bits and writing out how stuff works
Start reading from this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...9&postcount=35
Most informative post is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...&postcount=105
In summary, oem.sin from XZ1 Compact "Customized US" should be used to flash XZ1. All other *.sin etc files should be from XZ1 firmware (can use other region for fingerprint reader support).
Create folder caled 'partition', extract partition.zip into that folder and it will get flashed.
To put the phone in flash mode, you need to:
1] Power the phone off.
2] Press and hold the Volume Down Button.
3] While doing #2, plug the phone into your computer.
Device Manager should show an Unknown or Other device. Quite possibly the one above what you think is the right one.
It will have a device descriptor like this USB\VID_0FCE&PID_B00B in the "Details" tab.
Run newflasher and answer Y to the GordonGate driver.
It will exit after having dumped a zip file into the newflasher directory.
Unzip and install that driver for the device described above.
---
I know userdata.sin and fota-reset.ta is responsible for wiping userdata so its safe to delete these two files in case you need to keep userdata, but cust-reset.ta and master-reset.ta somebody need to try and let us know if these two files is also responsible for wiping userdata. The rest of ta files is ALWAYS recommended for flashing, don't skip it! Simlock.ta is by default skipped so you no need to delete it.

A quick update since my last reply:
I mentioned not being able to repeat the process. Turns out, it's because I didn't have the driver installed, which is basically step one. So user error, not related to any risk or issue with having flashed the custom rom to the phone.

Two G5s, one has OTA updated to Oreo, the other hasn't

I'm puzzled ...
I have two G5s (the wife uses one), both are UK, carrier-free, and seem to be identical. One has OTA updated to Oreo, the other hasn't and shows no inclination to do so. There is one difference though, they run/ran slightly different versions of Nougat:
The one that updated was previously running v20v-EUR-XX. The one that won't runs v20r-234-10. I don't know what that build is. It has previously received incremental updates to Nougat with no problem. Is it somehow an invalid region to receive an Oreo update?
Both phones were bought used, so I don't know their exact history.
If it's not going to update OTA then I will try flashing the update. TBH there's almost too much information here about flashing ROMs - I'd like to know the simplest way to flash a stock ROM, I don't want a rooted phone (been there, done that, fun, but banking apps etc. I depend on won't run). My desktop & laptop run Linux, so Windows-based tools won't help (unless they'll run under Wine ).
TIA to anyone who can help me out here.
LG H850 Oreo Update
ONLY LG H850(GBR) and H850 (VDF) received the Oreo Update.
Thanks, so what region is 234-10? Doesn't seem to correspond to any listed ROMs.
Any pointers to the best simple no-frills flash guide?
Looks like yours have branding, check which operator folder you got in "cust" folder.
Thanks for the hint.
The cust folder contains stuff on all UK operators. I don't entirely understand how this info works, but in op_list.cfg is the line 23410,O2=/OP/TLF_COM, which I guess means it was originally O2 branded. There's no trace of anything O2 on it now, but it would have originally shipped with AOS 6, and had already received 7 when I got it. That upgrade probably dropped anything specific to O2.
Is there any way to hack this so it appears to be running generic EUR software, or do I have to manually flash it to get 8?
Thks
There is GB euro open version but when I tried on my EE g5 it install french orange "jeus" app plus crap from Vodafone Romania, on the top of that you will get pop up error every time you restart your mobile about wrong customisation or something like that , other than that I loved oreo. Because of above I revert back to original ee software and just checking for update. G5 is not my primary phone so I don't have pressure about. EE was always slow on updates so this is normal in that case, not sure about other UK operators.
The EUR-XX build runs OK on my other G5, it updated OTA. This phone with O2 region code is not on O2 any more - I don't think it was ever carrier locked, but must have been bought from O2 originally. So even if O2 builds do update OTA, presumably it will only happen if they've got O2 SIMs in - I don't really follow how all this stuff works!
How did you install the ROM you tried out? I'm still trying to understand what the various tools being touted actually do.
I have the same problem.
I have an H850 with an unlocked bootloader and rooted.
There is no OTA update.
When I check on https://imei.guru/ I get:
Model: LGABCD
Region: ABC
When I check on https://proimei.info/en/checker/lg I get:
SUFFIX AO2UTN
BUYER O2U
BUYERNAME O2
I can try LG Bridge but I don't want to cause any issues since I'm rooted and the bootloader is unlocked.
Do I ned to use LG UP instead? And will I lose my data?
Any suggestions very welcome.
Thanks
As you're already unlocked and rooted, it should be a simple matter to flash a new system ROM. AFAIK you won't have to lose data. It's when you unlock the boot loader that it wipes all data.
In my case I don't have root, and I don't want a rooted phone after an upgrade. I'd prefer not to have to wipe and restore if possible too, but I can't work out how to do that.
I downloaded kdz and flashed with lg up, you can try if you really want oreo before O2 release. In worse case you can wait, and it doesn't matter what sim is in the mobile, when update is ready you will receive notification, I got different sim in my old g5 and previous updates was downloaded and installed without any problems.
Ah, thanks for that, maybe I'll just wait for O2 to get their act together! I can't use LGUP as I don't run any Windows machines, I'm all Linux. The closest I can get is XP running in a VM, but even though I can map a USB port into the VM it still doesn't recognize either of my devices. Uppercut doesn't help either .

Which LG UP did you use?
Because this thread recommends not using LG UP and using UPPERCUT instead.
However, VirusTotal shows lots of issues:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/d...366b6643a5922cd3b09a3b1a9296b8c0a8f/detection
and so I would prefer to use LG UP instead, if it's compatible with H850.
Thanks
I can't remember exactly which LGUP I used, I tried a couple. A bit worrying about the virus reports in uppercut, one advantage of running in a VM, I can always just trash the image and go back to the previous state.
As I understand uppercut, it doesn't replace LGUP, just tries to fix some device detection issues then launches LGUP to do the actual update. But that still didn't work

Hi,
I used version 1.14.3 (apparently this is the latest).
I flashed my g5 H850 several times as I wasn't sure if this bloatware from VDF Romania and french operator Jeux wasn't a issue of incorrect files. After all exercises i back to original EE soft.
All that with LG UP. I tried to use uppercut but my antivirus report as well on this so I don't bother and just use LG up.

Did you use the LG UP from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295
Because I that's the version I used but unfortunately on my PC it cannot detect my phone.
I'm not sure from where I downloaded, when I was looking for latest version I just search through google. Are you sure you have all drivers installed? Did you plug in your phone in download mode?

Ah - helpful tip! Because of the other messing around I'd been doing, it was in debug mode, D'oh I've got further, but still baulking.
From other threads re. XP and VMs, I found I needed to install an XP USB 3 driver, and switch to a USB virtual port in the VM. With all that, launching LGUP 1.14 via Uppercut the phone is detected and I can start an upgrade process.
It reboots the phone, which then displays the Firmware Update screen, but stays resolutely on 0%. LGUP shows "Build : U" as the step with progress at 4%. After 11 minutes it times out with a popup saying "Error: 0x2000 [ERROR] RX Timeout : 3.0". The barely readable little console window on the phone starts off with some info about the phone, then changes to simply "633E 1B00" after a couple of minutes.
I've tried using both physical USB 2 & USB 3 ports on the PC.
Any ideas?
Thks
Try to use lg up without uppercut, maybe your pc is a bit slow on vm. Once i startet flashing with lg up the whole process take about 5 min. Do you have hdd or ssd on your pc? Also check if there is no restriction for vm regarding size, make sure drive space is big enough. Also try to assign at least 2gb of ram for vm and if you have multi core cpu try to assign at least two cores. I believe if you will tweak settings on your vm it should be good to go. Check for vm tools update if needed update to latest.
LGUP without Uppercut doesn't work, it won't recognise the device. That's the only reason I downloaded Uppercut to start with.
I'm pretty convinced it's a USB connectivity problem. When the phone reboots there's no USB, then the USB interface comes up again, and LGUP has to continue talking to it in firmware-update mode. There are issues with the way the USB device is being captured by the VM. For some reason the MTP interface is still exposed to the host even though VBox says it's captured by the guest. In VBox terms this shouldn't happen, an interface is either accessible to the host, or is mapped to the guest and invisible to the host.
MTP is a bit of a weird beast though, and I think there's some black magic going on with the way this Linux (Ubuntu 18.04) is grabbing MTP devices. I've been trying to turn off every rule relating to Vendor 1004, Device 633e, as well as defaults, but it still has some magic default that means it spots an MTP device. I'm sure this is blocking proper communication through to the XP guest OS.
I shall keep tinkering ...
Well, I got it to work! I could not stop the host from seeing the USB interface, no mater how much of MTP I disabled, but the solution was to disconnect and re-connect the USB device to the VM, after the phone rebooted into flashing mode and LGUP was waiting to re-connect. I did it a couple of times, second time the connection to LGUP succeeded, and flashing completed in 3 - 4 mins.
Well that's it done on my spare slightly-broken test phone - I collect these things! - (took it from AOS 6 to 8), now to take a deep breath and do it on my real device I depend on. Time to back everything up again

Thank you so much for offering your help.
Actually, it is not a difficult process to extract that file.
First thing needed is to install QPST and enable the phone serial port.
After that, you need to open a program called EFS Explorer and then extract the files.
You can find a video that explains the process here

After installing the Qualcomm drivers, you will see LG Diagnostic Port, and LG Serial Port in device manager. Manually update/replace the serial port driver with Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9025. Then in the phone hidden menu you have to turn off the diag port under SVC, Port Check Test as shown in the video above. Then it should show up in QPST and EFS explorer

I have all the carrier_policy.xml files, TM VM EA. But I have some questions first. In which country and what is the name of the Carrier? The only reason I'm asking is: As far as I know, nobody in the US has crossflashed (most have been crossflashing the lmv600am) and really been able to get a 5G signal. Yes, I know it may have the 5G moniker on the taskbar but using Netmonster tells a different story, as do other tools. It's 4g masquerading as 5g. For example, on the v50/v60 on tmob network, using b66 shows it's 5g when it really isn't. When you crossflash with a KDZ the efs partition is not overwritten nor should it be because it contains imei info. Any file (carrier_policy.xml as an example) in the efs to be change has to be DL from the efs partition using Qspt, edit, and then reloaded. Show are you really getting a 5g band on your phone??????

I've been trying forever to get this to work with my ATT with stock FW and when crossflashed to EA, and you're right, I think it just doesn't, regardless of fw version installed. I've pulled the EA EFS policy files as well as the ATT ones, modified them, reuploaded and 5G just will not turn on. I've persisted so long because this method worked fine on my V50, however that one is a V500N (korean variant) whereas this is a V600AM (US/ATT variant), so I think that may have something to do with it. Have tried adding MCC-MNC, editing the rf_band lists, all sorts of combinations. I have a feeling that when the sim is inserted the phone doesn't even look at the modified xml files in the EFS partition and just generates it's own with the american models, but this is just speculation.
The other thing I noticed is that when I edit my ftm file to regain my serial number and remove the NT code error, the outer screen on the dual screen attachment works again, but then I lose 4G altogether and revert to 3G without data.
On my V50 all I had to do was add '5G' to some band lists and it worked, however, that unit is not crossflashed and still has stock korean firmware.
I'm in UK on Hutchison 3 network

Well I can tell you that there's a running discussion on a lot of the points you just made not the least of which is whether or not the modem is being provisioned at activation and if so what exactly and how much.
I have 2 lmv600am which I got off Ebay. Both had been crossed to EA fw when I got them. Since I'm on Google Fi, I went to the AT&T unlocking site and Sim unlocked. I then put my G-Fi sim into 1 of my v60 and sure enough I get a 5G moniker on my taskbar. Now during this time period Tmob is changing their policies on LG phones, mainly since LG is no longer in business. For example, lmv450 no longer actives on Tmob nor any of it's mvno's and I believe the same is happening for all Sprint phones plus all LG non-tmob phones. They're checking by imei.
So it didn't take long and bam, I wasn't even getting a 5g moniker. I call G-Fi and asked, WTF. I was told that G-Fi is now only allowing Google and Samsung phones to activate with 5G services, only 4g for V600am. Once again imei strikes. BTW you can page thru modem protocols here; *#546368#*600#>field test>modem settings>engineering mode to see if you even have the 5g protocol loaded. I use to but now I only have 2g, 3g, hspa and lte.
The only reason I'm bringing all this up is because Carrier Policies are changing with LG phones so It's worth a tech support call/chat with your carrier to see what's what on their side.
The next step would be to use a serious network app to verify what really going on. I think in your area the G-Mon app is being used a lot. I use Netmonster in the US. I saw a screen shot from a guy in Poland, I believe, that thought he was getting 5g only to find out that it was really lte+ 3xCA. He was getting 727.3 Mbps on the DL which is absolutely screaming. That’s faster than 99.9 % of the phones in the US.

Forgot to mention that I noticed that after a fresh flash, the xml files present in the EFS are different before and after inserting my sim.
Interesting but also disappointing to hear about the IMEI checking :/
I've been through hidden menu settings, and depending on which firmware I have installed I can see different bands and modem protocols available/activated, but can still never turn 5G on with my american V60's.
I had so much hope for this handset since firehose was made available!
Which reminds me, I even bootloader unlocked and rooted my crossflashed at&t unit. Successfully install Magisk etc, but couldn't enable r/w on system partition, even after generating and flashing a modified super partition. Something else going on here.
YOU need to check out the v60 group over on Discord.
