I have the Canadian version H933.
Time format - I like the military format, from the settings you can choose whatever but after restart it goes back to AM/PM. Google didn't help much.
Any ideas?
No problem here it works and stays the same after reboot. US998 with default launcher.
No issues here either. I prefer military time as well and always set that when I first get a phone. T-Mobile V30+ H932

@Pesto_Alfanzo thanks for this! Ever since I flashed the new ZV6 firmware I could not run the Sprint Zone app no matter what I did, and Wifi Calling had disappeared from settings. I followed the directions and chose "Sprint" and now everything is back to normal! This also changes the boot and shutdown animations back to the Sprint defaults, but it's a quick fix to change them back.
Can anyone offer any suggestions here? I recently tried upgrading my wife's phone from stock LG to Illusion....and everything went great, except for the fact that no matter what I do, the cellular network name (Verizon Wireless in this case obviously) will never populate. For clarification - everything works, data, calls, etc. but no carrier name is ever seen in the quick settings tiles as shown, and in settings > about phone > status the network simply says "Unknown". I personally have the exact same phone, same 23B modem, same identical setup in every way, and yet mine for some reason shows Verizon Wireless all the time just perfectly fine.
I'm at my wits end...and my OCD is killing me on this one! I've tried dirty flashing, full clean flashing, with and without wiping the internal storage, flashing the 10B, 11C, and 12B modems back and forth as well, tried re-flashing the 23B modem obviously, tried adjusted the global vs. LTE settings, played with the APN's, normal and soft reboots, install of a CM12 nightly for comparison, let the initial phone setup go through solely on mobile data, even fully tot'ing back to 10B and repeating everything again in an attempt to fix! Can anyone offer any possible help or suggestions here? They would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!
Hello.
I recently purchased an unlocked AT&T model V10 and am using it on Metro PCS.
The phone is having a hard time making and receiving calls. It will take a long time for an outbound call to begin (or will not even go through after a lengthy wait), and many calls are not being received and going straight to voicemail.
The problem and severity is intermittent, sometimes it will work without issue and other times no calls can be made or received for some time.
The data connection appears to be solid whenever it is being used, it just appears there is a problem with the phone trying to negotiate from a data connection to a GSM cellular connection.
Any input would be greatly appreciated as I have been searching around and have not had any luck. I've tried reseating the SIM, factory resets, etc.
Thank you.
MAybe wrong rom on it? Did you try reinstall software with lg bridge?

I'm running the factory AT&T install, so no custom rom - I will try LG Bridge and see if there are any available updates.
Thanks for the tip, I haven't done much with LG phones before - I am certainly open to rooting the phone / trying a custom ROM to see if that will sort things out. It just seems like either a setting (I tried all different APN settings to no avail) or a software issue as it does work, just not consistently.

Thanks, I noticed that I was having trouble finding an update past H90021w online and the phone shows no update available (I was previously on H90020j).
So now Wi-Fi calling is an option, however it does not let me enable it, it just sits on "Processing" until eventually it gives me an error connecting with the network. I turned it on manually through the SVC menu and it shows it as enabled in the settings, but I don't think it is actually working as it doesn't give any indication as to whether or not it s on a Wi-Fi call.
Looks like I'm running out of options and may need to go with a different phone.

yea you had bad luck with this one, v10 is great phone, but no custom or anything. I am luchy i have 960a, so everything works haha
You needn't read this thread. There is nothing of any import here.
I was unable to learn how to delete it, or I would have.
As I mentioned below, I manually updated this phone to Nougat using the LG Bridge program. It complicates matters that I can't remember the exact time-frame for issues. I do remember getting real-time traffic updates using google maps even after I upgraded to Android 7. And I did stream Netflix once while on a 12 hour roadtrip, but I can't remember if that was before or after the road-trip. I have found and tried many APN's for the H2O service. Some are supposedly specifically for the G5, others just for mms or internet. Most recently, I did a factory reset after backing up my personal data and media. Twice now actually. The first time, I ran the backup software soon after resetting and when things hadn't changed, I surmised that maybe I was just importing the problem back onto the phone in my settings or something, so I reset again and this time only chose two of the settings categories near the top of the list since they seemed separate to the navigation programming.
I'm going to reset again now and see if the maps work with a stock setup, then see if I can slowly add things one at a time and continually monitor the data functionality.
If a moderator sees this and can delete this post, I would appreciate it since it doesn't seem like it could be helpful to anyone else the way it is. If I am successful in getting the data working and this thread still remains, I will post the process I had followed to achieve that in an "Issue Solved" heading at the bottom. Everything between the snowflakes (*****) is the older post and edits.
*****
History of Issue(s):
>This is my first smartphone and my first Android device
> Bought phone used off swappa running MM 6.?
>Have owned phone for around 8 months
>Volume down button wasn't working, figured I could live with pressing vol up and moving it down manually.
> Thought it would be good idea to upgrade manually to Nougat (10h update) Using LG bridge (about 5 months ago?)
> My carrier is H2Owireless, an AT&T MVNO
> Used to have internet, google maps real-time traffic used to work, Netfilx used to work (both without WiFi).
> Could make calls, send texts, listen to Pandora or Spotify and use my Maps for commuting to work.
> Couldn't send MMS pic msgs.
> Began to learn about APN's and what the different network settings did.
>Tried many APN's and fotzed around with Global, LTE/CDMA, LTE/GSM/UMTS and the submode settings
>Can get 4G and LTE , often have to switch back to Global setting to send SMS/MMS
> Had H2O set up APN as best they knew and network settings to what they felt would work best
> Can do anything and evrything when Wifi is enabled (that's never been an issue)
> I thought phone had bricked about 2 months ago while on a roadtrip.
> Discovered on forum that I could swap cam plus for chin and power on that way.
> Turned out power button was no longer functional
> Learned about vol up + charger to power on phone (use an app to power off and restart phone)
> took off cam plus so I could have phone in case.
And now, I'm standing at the edge of a very deep rabbit hole with a phone that can't use mobile data for most internet access (spotify works, Pandora never worked very well). I've discovered that the version of Nougat I'm running is problematic (update 10h Brightpoint) and that my forcing the update to Nougat might be largely responsible for these issues.
I see myself having a choice between learning how to flash the phone back to Marshmallow, or learning how to flash it up to update 21c... or live without mobile data for most of the functionality I wanted from the phone...
I seek advice from the the forum for which of these options people think I might best choose. Do I need to acquaint myself with these programs used to flash the ROM? Does it seem to you readers that my problems are symptomatic of those which are best rectified by flashing up? Or rolling back to Marshmallow...
I just want to be able to google something while I'm away from wifi.. to get traffic updates while I'm using the navigation.. to listen to spotify.. maybe even watch something on netflix... (calling, SMS and MMS functionality is a given, but I do still have them for the most part).
I can pick things up if I read tutorials / guides... I've flashed PC BIOS before... I could figure it out if I needed to...
But maybe I just need a new chin or clean it? Maybe I should factory reset? Maybe there's other potential causes I'm unaware of?
Any and all suggestions are welcome. It's late here and I won't be reading any responses until tomorrow at work.
Thanking you very much in advance. --Wayne
Edit: I was about to check LG Bridge to see if there was an update available for nougat.. thought I would get this out there first since I was pretty sure I wouldn't get both done tonight..
3rd edit: I checked for LG update, nothing available. I finally decided to factory reset before getting into flashing. That seemed to fix the google maps issue as it seemed to be working without WiFi enabled (I say 'seemed' because my office is slightly below grade and getting a good signal is tough. If it's not working, the address remains grayed out and the connection just buffers, the address filled in after the reset. Then I decided to move some of the things I had backed up from the SD card but neglected to deselect the settings box. After restoring much of what I had backed up, It seemed more like how it had been before the reset. I noticed a small icon next to the signal type and strength meter at the top which hadn't been there before the reset (a small white square with rounded edges that has a zig-zag line going through it that kind of looks like a jagged "N"). Instead of saying offline, the app says poor connection, so I will test it on my way home.. I am hopeful. It seems promising. If I have to reset again, I will deselect settings and set things up fresh; I think that will help. I am beginning to think this isn't so much about my OS or any hardware failure as it is the H2O at&t mvno being throttled or something similar. Even when I'm getting 4 bars of 4G, the maps loads very slowly.. nothing at all like it does on WiFi.
I'll post a final edit after I try it out on the ride home this evening.

I have just encountered a problem after performing the dial in this thread from XDA:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/help/us998-hidden-menu-lg-v30-v30-t3719219/page1
Just curious to find out all the band numbers my phone supports. But, After selecting one band it could not automatically switch to another.
And it has made the situation worse when i tried to do a factory reset from the SVC menu. Now i do not have the 4G network at all. No access to internet. Factory reset from the phone settings also failed to fix the problem.
Is there anything i can do do make my phone work normally again? Do i need to flash the KDZ file to restore to my default network settings? But i seem to be unavailable Now.
What can i do, guys, please help.
I did the steps in that thread this morning and the same thing happened to me. I was able to factory reset and the issue was fixed upon first boot.
You might try resetting again to see if it'll fix it.

I have tried several times and it did not work. thanks anyway.
contacted LG service, and they are talking nonsene:
quote:
"1 - Check your current settings. This is important to retain 3G data when moving out of 4G range. You can find this under Settings > Tethering & Networks > Mobile Network > Network Mode
2 - a menu will open automatically. Click on Phone Info and scroll down to where it says Pick Prefered Network Type.
3 - Press the drop down box and select the option that adds LTE along with your old options. (pick LTE/GSM/WCDMA to turn on 4G)
4 - your network will reconnect and you should now see a 4G icon appear in the top bar.
With android 5.0 you will find that 4G now appears correctly in the "preferred network mode" under Settings > Tethering & Networks > Mobile Network > Network Mode.
If by any chance that this did not work, then try this:
First go to the app *easy battery saver* then instead of super mode, Go back to *normal mode *. It will kick you back to your normal settings. If by any chance it doesn't work try this:
This method however is to fix and reset 4g in general, so it should work;
First of all download an app called "any cut" free from market. Then after it downloads and installs, go home screen and create a shortcut >then select > activities > and then select the "any cut" app. After that it'll send you to the app and from there you have to press on "activities" option and Scroll down until you see "LTE configuration" (its mostly the first one that starts with LTE). Then as you select that it will have created a shortcut action on the home screen. You then go to home screen and look for the shortcut you have created, it'll be called *lte configuration*. Open it and then press on setting initialization. Now, it will reset your lte settings and the phone will reboot. After that you should be able to be running 4g nice and clean.
If in case these didn't fix the issue, please contact your carrier. Typically frequencies and bands problems are network related. "

Your last option would be a restore through lg bridge. Its just going to reset everything back to normal. I accidentally did the same thing on my h932 and had to reset it. In my case LG bridge flashed the same software version but since the us998 is getting the 10c update it will update you to that version.

For me I had to add and select the T Mobile LTE APN via these instructions: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-36660
Then it worked
