Hi guys,
Running CM13 on mako (nex4)
I wanted to know if anyone knew of a lightweight way to do this... I could do it in tasker for instance, but maybe there is a better way.
(CM's profiles dont allow enabling rotation)
I want my phone to allow rotation / disable rotation lock when my car stereo is connected via bluetooth.
I cant find any simple option that will allow this.
Is there a lightweight way to do this nowadays? Or will I have to get some kind of tasker solution going?
Auto-rotate didn't work on a fresh install on LineageOS, though it works on stock.
The solution (found on the linked page) was to add the following lines to /system/build.prop
Code:
log.tag.launcher_force_rotate=VERBOSE
lockscreen.rot_override=true
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/how-to-enable-auto-rotate-lockscreen-t3245988
When I installed LineageOS and discovered the problem, I could never find a solution and eventually gave up—settling on manual rotation instead. But I managed to come across the solution recently while researching how to make the lock-screen rotation match the selected angle. That is, the lock-screen fix resolved the auto-rotation problem as a side-effect.
I was going to post this as a reply to one of the threads I previously found that mention the problem but now I can't find them... You'd think I'd be able to find the other threads just as easily now as before... Surely I didn't dream all that, right? Hehe.
Judging from what I read previously (and the fact that I experienced it), this appears to be an ongoing issue with no known solution. So, I made this thread. I hope that is acceptable.
Have the same issue on RedMi with LineageOS but this still doesn't solve the problem
Hi Folks,
at the Beginning i installed yalp Store, to download from playstore the App "Sensores Multitool". Its good to check if your Accelerometer work or is damaged.
Here it works but the linageos behaviour did not!
I had the issue the my Desktop, Main Screen did not turn.
Lets try to observe the issue and nail it down.
First step: Activate Auto Rotation in the Bar at the Top, do not know the right Notation for that. Its the Quick Navigation.
Then you have a Setting in your "Settings" -> "Display", like Screen rotating.
Play with Lock Screen Orientation (activate it and check if the Lock Screen (where you enter your Pin..) change Orientation if you activate and deactivate it!). Here it does.
Check if you have Settings open and your Settings twist if you rotate your phone physically... - here it works too!
Maybe you set, as i do your Desktop/Start Page/Main Screen/Trebuchet to keep an Orientation . Press and Hold your Desktop, like you would change the background image or install widgets. Now you check out its gear wheel Settings.. and check if there is another Setting to enable or disable Turns/rotation.
If that is set, your Start Page, Desktop or Main-Screen will force back to your choose Orientation, which seems that the auto rotation did not work.
Oh i think the Lineageos official Name of that Program is: Trebuchet.
Works a treat thanks a million!!
Thanks Silhalnor, this fixed the problem on a Note 3 using LineageOS where the auto rotation stops working after a day or so and requires the phone be rebooted.
Must be a bug in the lockscreen code that makes the orientation sensor go AWOL.
After two years i have the same issue on my Note 4 whit currently lineageos 17.1.
I have to reboot my phone to be return all works normally.
It's another lineageos bug ?!??!?!? Omg......
Device: Lenovo P2
Rom: Lineage 7.1.2
I recently posted about touchscreen issues I had after installing this Rom. Seems I had to switch couple of things off to get rid of this bug. TBH it probably is a hardware issue, but this fixes it for now:
Turn off:
1. Settings, display, tap to wake
2. Settings, gestures, double-tap to sleep
Could come in handy for someone.
Thanks to @raiprasant62 for the tip!
Hi,
I recently flashed OmniRom on my OnePlus 3T but the notification led gets disabled every time I switch to DND mode. There is currently no option in OmniRom to prevent this from happening. Is there any way to reenable it somehow?
I found out you can change the led brightness by changing the value inside the /sys/class/leds/red/brightness file for example. In this folder is another file 'trigger' which - to my understanding - lets you configure when the led should be turned on.
Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to completely enable or disable the led specifically for notifications.
I would like to use tasker to write to some file using root permissions to enable the notification light every time the phone switched to DND.
Could you help me find out how to do this? Maybe there is another way to achieve what I'm trying to do but this is how far I got.
Hi there,
I´m running in a problem with my Android 8 car stereo and the provider is not able to fix it...
This issue came first up with Oreo, I didn´t face this issue with any older Android version.
I asked in the Tasker Google group for a solution but I have still the same issue and it seems that the provider of the system does not use the Android API as it used to be.
Let´s get a bit deeper into the issue:
If I have a look at the trace files I always find an error message each time at changing the backlight (with or without Tasker)
05-07 13:45:54.415 292 292 E Lights Hal: write_int failed to open /sys/class/backlight/rk28_bl/brightness
The reason for this is, that the folder rk28_bl does not exist on my unit. The file "brightness" is stored in folder:
/sys/class/backlight/backlight/brightness
If I change the brightness manually out of the taskbar, the file /sys/class/backlight/backlight/brightness is changed and the brightness is changed.
To use the brightness with Tasker and Twilight to raise/reduce the brightness dependant on the daylight, me and of course other OREO car stereo user need a workaround to get this working.
Do you guys are able to find a workaround for that? Any hints? Ideas?
Ah edit: These units do not have any brightnes sensors, or Auto brightnes settings as we do have in any phone.
