Device: Lenovo P2
Rom: Lineage 7.1.2
I recently posted about touchscreen issues I had after installing this Rom. Seems I had to switch couple of things off to get rid of this bug. TBH it probably is a hardware issue, but this fixes it for now:
Turn off:
1. Settings, display, tap to wake
2. Settings, gestures, double-tap to sleep
Could come in handy for someone.
Thanks to @raiprasant62 for the tip!

Hi everyone!
Short question. I've got a galaxy s3, so far a great phone!
Vibrate and haptic feedback works when i press the back or menu button. But i cannot seem to get it to work when i touch the screen. i.e. touching an icon on the screen does not create the haptic feedback that i'm used to.
Is this a normal thing or an error/bug?
Uhm you can turn on this function
Yeah..you mean the haptic option under settings - sound?
It enables the haptic feedback for the back and menu button. But not the touches on the screen itself.
that function will be implemented into roms and anyways its not needed it just sucks battery
So, short answer is that it's not a default option on the galaxy?
It's been a long time since i've had a stock rom so i don't know any better

Same Issue(Resolved)
Well i had the same issue and the solution was pretty simple for me. Turn off power saving mode.
same problem but nothing seems to work
ok I have the same problem; haptic feedback not working and neither is vibrating on notifications, some vibrations working. The problem showed up like 1 week ago, without having installed anything special that day (can't remember if I installed anything at all that day).
My device (sgs3 I9300) was when the problem appeared on Paranoid android 3+, now it's on some cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly build.
what i've tried: going through all the settings, sound manager, turning off all vibrations the rebooting then turning them all on then rebooting again, changing rom (incl. factory reset of course), reading all kinds of threads about such problems.
Hi, yesterday I upgraded from Paranoidandroid 3.68 to the new project Paranoidandroid 3.99 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397762
But I have an annoying problem - The touch button backlight keeps randomly turning on and switches off only when i click on screen. This only happens when I use it, it seems to be some kind of response or something. I have gone in settings>buttons>backlight and disabled it yet this does not disable the random turning on of it. Anyone know how can I completely disable it without installing custom kernels? Or what is causing it to randomly turn on all the time.
That's due to the touch key backlights. On 4.2.2 (PA 3.68) there was an option to disable them. On 4.3 it was removed by CM so a lot of other ROMs don't have the option either. What I've done on other 4.3 ROMs is to install the device settings apk and use that to turn them off. I haven't tried it on PA though.
I'm on mobile so can't give you a link... Search through my past posts from a couple weeks back. I posted the apk and instructions a couple of times, once in the PACman thread, once in Q&A. I also saw the steps quoted in Q&A by someone else too, you might come across that thread.
Oh wait you could probably even go to my 'most thanked posts'. It might be one of those. See how you go.

Hmm, thanks! But I did that, installed whole custom settings apk and launched the custom settings and turned the backlight off in there too, but it's exactly the same. Also this rom already has backlight button setting in options, so it didn't do anything new as far as i can tell.
The key backlight turns on randomly after like 5-30sec of pressing on screen. It's not like the usual backlight turning on keypress but it turns on after some time instead.
Edit: Backlight keeps turning on even if i have the default 3sec deley. the backlight would turn off after 3 sec and then back on after like 10sec until screen turns off or i press again on screen. Weird, maybe rom bug? I cant post on rom thread because i don't have enough posts
Edit 2: OK I have linked it to screen brightness. Every time screen brightness changes (from adaptive lightning, screen timeout and app/game setting) the key backlight turns on. I have no idea how to force the key backlight to stay off though, so thats why im here
Oh wow. Good job narrowing it down to that, I imagine it wasn't easy to figure out what was causing it. Have you read the rom thread for the last 15 pages or so? See if someone else is having the same issue. Also read the OP and following posts, for known bugs /FAQ. You should have read OP before flashing anyway but read it again
If you don't find anything else, try to get a few extra posts and then post in the thread. You seem to know what you're doing, so try helping out a few other people on Q&A maybe.

The latest(todays) build fixed the issue. Thanks for help!
Hey,
a couple of days ago I updated my Honor 7 from Lollipop to Marshmallow.
All in all I'm quite happy with Android 6 so far, but a few things are way worse than before, I think.
The feature I am missing most is using the fingerprint sensor as back button by tapping it once, I can't find any option in the settings menu to enable that.
Did anyone find out, how to reenable it?
Thanks in advance,
iuxn
Same boat!
I miss the back functionality of the sensor so much!! Someone please find a solution to this. And honor, if ur listening, please bring back the option. It was anyway an option! If it irked anyone they could just disable it! But what about people like me who loved it!! We have no option, especially now that I was so used to it
I concur. Keep clicking it to go back and it doesn't work anymore! My biggest gripe with Marshmallow over the Lollipop build for sure.
I'm using a custom ROM with justback xposed module. It's a slide gesture to go back. Don't need the virtual keys at the bottom now to free up screen space again. Still would like them to bring the fingerprint back button mind.
Auto-rotate didn't work on a fresh install on LineageOS, though it works on stock.
The solution (found on the linked page) was to add the following lines to /system/build.prop
Code:
log.tag.launcher_force_rotate=VERBOSE
lockscreen.rot_override=true
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/how-to-enable-auto-rotate-lockscreen-t3245988
When I installed LineageOS and discovered the problem, I could never find a solution and eventually gave up—settling on manual rotation instead. But I managed to come across the solution recently while researching how to make the lock-screen rotation match the selected angle. That is, the lock-screen fix resolved the auto-rotation problem as a side-effect.
I was going to post this as a reply to one of the threads I previously found that mention the problem but now I can't find them... You'd think I'd be able to find the other threads just as easily now as before... Surely I didn't dream all that, right? Hehe.
Judging from what I read previously (and the fact that I experienced it), this appears to be an ongoing issue with no known solution. So, I made this thread. I hope that is acceptable.
Have the same issue on RedMi with LineageOS but this still doesn't solve the problem
Hi Folks,
at the Beginning i installed yalp Store, to download from playstore the App "Sensores Multitool". Its good to check if your Accelerometer work or is damaged.
Here it works but the linageos behaviour did not!
I had the issue the my Desktop, Main Screen did not turn.
Lets try to observe the issue and nail it down.
First step: Activate Auto Rotation in the Bar at the Top, do not know the right Notation for that. Its the Quick Navigation.
Then you have a Setting in your "Settings" -> "Display", like Screen rotating.
Play with Lock Screen Orientation (activate it and check if the Lock Screen (where you enter your Pin..) change Orientation if you activate and deactivate it!). Here it does.
Check if you have Settings open and your Settings twist if you rotate your phone physically... - here it works too!
Maybe you set, as i do your Desktop/Start Page/Main Screen/Trebuchet to keep an Orientation . Press and Hold your Desktop, like you would change the background image or install widgets. Now you check out its gear wheel Settings.. and check if there is another Setting to enable or disable Turns/rotation.
If that is set, your Start Page, Desktop or Main-Screen will force back to your choose Orientation, which seems that the auto rotation did not work.
Oh i think the Lineageos official Name of that Program is: Trebuchet.
Works a treat thanks a million!!
Thanks Silhalnor, this fixed the problem on a Note 3 using LineageOS where the auto rotation stops working after a day or so and requires the phone be rebooted.
Must be a bug in the lockscreen code that makes the orientation sensor go AWOL.
After two years i have the same issue on my Note 4 whit currently lineageos 17.1.
I have to reboot my phone to be return all works normally.
It's another lineageos bug ?!??!?!? Omg......
Hi I was facing issues with
1. Flesky Keyboard emojis cannot be touched.
2. UI Freeze*
3. Pubg
a. Joystick won't respond while parachuting.
b. Lags when another player is approaching me.
c. Some buttons usually the accelerate vehicle or the eye stops working or misbehaves.
d. Freezes completely* in front of the enemy player.
e. Freezes completely* at random places for a period of time and get back after I lock the screen and get back in.
*The application runs fine but none of my touch input gets registered.
On POCO F1 running MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 8.10.25.
What worked for me.
1. Turned off 3 finger screenshot.
2. Turned off full-screen gesture
3. Turned off one-handed mode
4. Switched to google keyboard and turned off glide typing and gestures.
5. Uninstalled all touchscreen tester, repair and calibrate apps.
6. Cleaned Junk and reboot.
Results
UI lag and keyboard issues fixed completely.
Pubg Freeze fixed
Using game booster for pubg no issues yet.
Very rarely it does stutter and I know its because I use multiple apps (Texting..) sometimes while on pubg so I use the game booster to free up ram and it works.
Hope these help someone else facing the same issue.
I guess its the gestures.
PS: This is my first thread Its not an in-depth fix, maybe a workaround but if it helps someone then why not.
Update: Switched to stable miui 10.1.3.0 via updater app after factory reset. (Flashed complete ROM)
All the touch issues are fixed for me (I believe for many others in beta 8.12.13 also have them fixed. As the number of post complaining touch has reduced a lot).
Dirty flashing or ota updates were the reason for screen freezing/touch unresponsive issue in my case.
If you face similar issues as above please factory reset and flash complete rom again and don't restore old apps.
This can be done via updater app alone. Root or bootloader unlocking is not required.
Disabling Gestures made Gboard much better, indeed. Looks like there's no problem at all. But c'mon, Xiaomi need to fix it. Infinite Screen is a must need on this smart.
I will try PUBG Mobile now.
EDIT
Same problem on PUBG. Aim often just jump when you touch the screen. But hell, the keyboard is fast now!
I will go back to Infinite Mode anyway, theres no way to use Pocophone without it.
Thanks for the reply sorry that it did not work for you.
And yes without gestures its not very handy.

Thanks man. After reboot and turned on Infinite Mode again, surprisingly Gboard is working much better now!!
I'm typing really fast even with Infinite Mode On!
