Can someone please tell me why is it that when I open a photo from a file Manger such as ES File Explorer or countless others that I've tries the only thing you can do is view the photo and if you're lucky maybe you get a share option but never and edit option. Even if you select OPEN WITH option and choose your favorite photo viewer such as Google Photos or GALLERY you get no edit options. This seems kind of stupid.

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to add a bookmark to the quicklinks but have it open with a browser different to the default one.
I have opera, skyfire and ie installed and would like to have the bookmarks open in the most suitable one.
Thanks
easy, create a normal shortcut to the program, (tested this with opera and iexp,) don't have sky installed but probably works, i think its a browser standard, it works on the pc too.) then copy the shortcut to your pc (or i used notepad for win mobile)
open the .lnk file in notepad, you will see
22#"\Windows\opera9.exe"
then just add a space followed by your url
22#"\Windows\opera9.exe" http://samsamuel.co.uk
or
24#"\Windows\iexplore.exe" http://samsamuel.co.uk
save it, copy back to phone and drop into windows/start menu/programs to be able to assign to quicklinks, or wherever you want to store them.
cool, thanks!!
Hey guys,
I'm using a rooted stock ROM. Whenever I click a picture from a text message, I get the error "cold not load image" and a black screen. How do I fix this??
Thanks,
Try clearing the data on the msg app. Then boot to recovery and wipe cache & davlik cache. Then reboot and see if that helps.

I solved the issue. I removed ES file explorer. If anybody has the same issues as me, uninstall any apps that handle files or pictures and then reinstall them.

Thanks g2nightmare. Removing ES file explorer fixed it. Don't know why- ESSFE was not a recent addition (but , and when I added it back the issue did not return.
Thanks!
Same here. ES File Explorer was the culprit.
ES File Explorer definitely (with Handcent in my case but I am sure it is with any text messaging app) has issues viewing photos from within a text messaging app.
I uninstalled ES File Explorer and after I reinstalled it, I tested my text messaging app again.
The default to view images had been set to use ES File Explorer. I now selected 'one time' and viewed a picture with 'Gallery' app (which worked fine) and then tried the same image with ES File Explorer, also within my text messaging app, and it failed.
Once I confirmed which app worked to view photos from within the text messaging app and which didn't, I set the default to the 'Gallery' app and all is well now.
THANKS A LOT g2nightmare!

ES Image Browser cannot open picture in text messaging on many devices, that's true. Because ES doesn't ask for read_SMS pemission due to user privacy consideration.
I don't know why the rom selects ES as the only gallery app automatically, it might be a system bug, ES cannot do that. You can set the system app "Gallery" to open pictures in text messaging.
Just received a picture in my email that I would like to save. I download the picture and can view it, but then there's no way to access it or save it to my device. Not even a method for copying. Has anybody figured out a way to save or copy an email attachment?

I'll just go ahead and reply to my own thread. You have to go to your gallery, then switch the view to "albums", then all downloads. You'll find them in there.
Derp.
There's also a Downloads shortcut/app in the tools folder in the app drawer. Downloaded Astro file manager before I finally found that, but probably would have anyway.

When I use the remote camera app, take a photo, where does the phone/tablet store my photo?
It is not in "Photos" > Gallery, or on my Google Drive and where ever it stores the photo, can I change the file location and rename the photo? Regards, D
I discovered the path is The storage path is /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/RemoteCamera/
The files are named like P_DATE_TIME.jpg DATE = JJJJMMDD TIME = HHMMSS
Now I just need to know how to change the path/folder to something else? Any thoughts? Doug
