Google Play critical issue - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

I can no longer download or update apps from Google Play any more. Does anyone with the AL00 model facing the same issue? Can anyone tell me does international version(L29/L09) work right now?

L29 working for me.

Delete the cache for it and try again

I can't comment for the Chinese AL00 firmware, as though I have an AL00, it was re-branded to L29 firmware before I got it, and I've had no issues with Google Play (and have actually successfully received an OTA firmware update too). Unless you have a need to continue using the AL00 firmware (for example, if you're in China?), I'd suggest re-branding it with L29 firmware.

I had a problem with it the night before. It started working after I woke up. Maybe there was a temporary problem with the play store itself.

Strange update please help

I need some help, I have a Mate 10 from China the Al00 version 6gb/128gb version. It came rebranded with AL29 115 (C636) flashed over it. Everything is working fine. When I check Firmware Finder app it shows there are updates available for C636 but these are not approved for installation. However when I check the (C185) update version of the L29 it is approved for my device. So I updated to this version which is L29 8.0.0.119(C185) everything worked fine and when my phone rebooted it was still on L29 8.0.0.115(C636) but the security patch was updated to the latest November one from October. I don't understand what has happened here? WHY HASN'T the build version changed? Why isn't any update version of the C636 not approved for my phone? I would appreciate any help thank you in advance
Interesting I thought about doing this myself, so you probably have the firmware files of .119 but still device details .115. Can you take a screen shot of your syatem/About Phone?
You would need to rebrand your phone I would have thought, currently only funky Huawei can do this from what I've read.
I'm in the same boat, all the C636 firmwares are not authorised currently for my device also. Update.app method doesn't work with out associated hw files and I'm not willing to fastboot the partitions to the device tho should work.

I have checked and I am positive that my phone is rebranded to C636, what I find strange is that others in this forum bought the same phone from the same vendor and it was rebranded by the vendor too. They are also in the UK and they have received an OTA to 119 from 115, I do not understand why this is the case.

Yeah I've the same device from Wandamobile.
I just received the .119 OTA update as of last night. You'll get it very shortly.
Seems to be in line with firmware finder when you check firmware access, as soon as my access was approved on the app I got the OTA.

Thank you very much my friend I appreciate that ?
i have the same problem.. my mate 10 rebrand by itself after i installed a full OTA via firmware finder. my mate 10 was 119(C636) then after i downloaded and installed a firmware 128(636) via firmware finder. it didnt change at all. my mate 10 was still on firmware 119 but the worst it became 119(185) when i try to download a firmware 128(C185) i cannot install it because it was not approved.. but when i try to download a 128(636) all is good but the problem is im still at 119(C185) after the installation..

[Q] Huawei Mate 10 Pro Update

Hi guys! It´s been a while since I posted last time...
Got myself a Mate 10 Pro and very happy with it. My phone has the latest OTA but I read somewhere that there are more previous firmware. I downloaded Firmware Finder from Play Store and it tells me there are several newer versions for my phone. Is it safe to use this?
My phone has the following firmware:
BLA-L29 8.0.0.142(C432)
Firmware Finder tells me that the latest firmware for my phone is
BLA-L29C432B115a (8.0.0.115a)
I find it a little strange but what is really the newest firmware for my phone?
I use the Swedish version, not locked to any operators.

Whatever is the newest one, you won't be able to force an update via FF. It doesn't work anymore. I have just the same firmware, and see the 115 as the newest as well. I also see 145 as approved for installation, but it doesn't work. You can't download firmware. Huawei changed something on servers. All we can do is waiting for official OTA, or for Team MT to fix it.
Someone tested the BLA-L29C432B115a and it's an old one so no need to apply it lol

Oppo Find X with CPH1871TW_11_A.12 Global Version or not?

Hi Guys,
I owned my Oppo Find X some months ago. Through a webshop in switzerland.
It was titled as Oppo Find X 128GB Global. I payed like 200$ more for that global version.
As I unpacked it, I saw that there was a transparent case inside, just like in the Chinese Versions. According to my information, i thought the global version has no case supplied.
And also the american standard of the charger was inside and a little adapter for europe.
I started the phone and saw the casual Google setup, same like every other Android. Everything was working, Google Assistant, Google Play so I didn't thought about global or not. There were just 2 chinese Apps installed (some Social Network), I deleted them.
Some days later I noticed, that I'm not receiving Notifications from all apps. So I wanted to add some apps more for background activity (as I had read the global version should support 9 apps at once) but after 5 it told me with a message that there could only be set 5 apps.
I started reading more threads about it and saw that there is an CPH1871EX version (europe?) which should be the global version and mine looks like to be the taiwan version. I was also stuck on ColorOS v5.1 and there was no update shown on v5.2 until yesterday where I used a VPN to connect to taiwan, then I received the v5.2.
So my question, have I been fooled? Did I got an chinese Version with installed google apps?
Do I have now to connect to taiwan, everytime I want to check for an OS update?
Is there a way to switch to EX, does it even matter?
What does the A.12 on the end mean, and why didn't I got directly the A29(which is the newest I think)
Oh and a total different question, do we know if every Find X will get ColorOS 6, or just chinese?
Thanks in advance for your support
You can check your device model from "Setting"=>"About Phone"=>"Model".

Every verson will get ColorOS 6, however Chinese model will get ColorOS 6 first than other model.

Hi. I have CPH1875, when we will have Pie?
I do think you got the global version but it was specific to Taiwan for some reason. I have the Australian version and it came with a case so I don't think that's an issue. I also have the 5 startup app limit. CPH1875EX.

On my version, with last update, the lockable apps in recent app are 7. Autostart app were already 9, idk now if the number is still 9 or more, can't try.

Update to EMUI 9 "Custom Version" in "About Phone"

Hi, I recently bought a (brand new) Honor 8X from an online store (I'm based in Belgium). It would not upgrade to the new Android 9. It has rolled out in Belgium, so I'm kinda stumped my device would not update. I checked the system information and saw a line "Custom Version CUSTC432D1". I'm a noob concerning technical Android details, and I was wondering:
1) What does it do
2) How did it get there
3) Is this custom version able to prevent an update?
Thanks so much for your information!

Hi there
1. Would not update: EMUI 9 is still not officially available to everyone, even sometimes within same country. Hard to say why.
2. "Custom version" - this is strange, maybe its a network operator based version. Vodafone for example will add some default apps to the firmware. Not necessarily a problem and should stop updates
3. Try downloading "huawei firmware finder" from Play store and see if you can update with this one
4. What is your exact device model? This is important to know. The model numbers starts with JSN-xxxxxxx

Hey. For point 2) just for the sake of it, I bought another device (from a physical store this time, in my country), and the same Customer Version was on there. So I assume that's normal.. (Afterwards, I returned it)
3. I found firmware, but for my 'code' (JSN-L21C432CUSTC432D1B136') it only goes to 8.2.0.136
4. My build number is JSN-L21 8.2.0.136 (C432)
It's probably just not available for my specific custom version..
Thanks for the info!
EDIT: was too fast on point 3 and did find some firmware
