I own three V30/V30+ phones. For SOME reason, my wife's V30 will not show the lock screen weather animation, even though I have it turned on. (Repeatedly, several times, even turning it off, rebooting, turning it back on, etc.)
I've been through all the settings between hers and my other two -- including LG Home app permissions, and I can see no differences. But yet, 2 of 3 phones show the lock screen animation and the other one does not. My daily V30+ and hers also have Nova launcher installed, but that has nothing to do with it (or shouldn't). My "spare" V30 is in basic factory re-set mode (using LG launcher), and I turned on the weather locks screen animation on that phone tonight.
The first time you turn it on (and ONLY the first time), it asks for location permission and for weather provider access. But NONE of those permissions show up in the LG Home app. I wouldn't have said NO to those permissions, but that's the only valid working theory I have...
Where else would that show up, and how can I re-set those permissions (or make it show those questions again) -- without doing a factory re-set (HOURS of work) on my wife's phone.
Obviously no one is going to die if my wife can't see lock screen weather animation, but it's just strange it's not on her phone. Anyone have any ideas, besides factory re-set?
And now suddenly it's working. Arghhh. After struggling with it all day, trying to figure out WHY it's not showing weather on the lockscreen, after I posted this, it's now blithely showing weather on her lockscreen. Go figure.
Where exactly is it located? I'm on Verizon, and don't see an option for lock screen animation.

And here are the Verizon instructions -- but they're exactly the same everyone else.

That's a screenshot of the animation. The actual animation moves and is very neat.
I rarely see it however, because my fingerprint sensor unlock is so fast.

It could be quite a while before I know if my lock screen weather animation is working: it never snows and barely even rains in Los Angeles haha. It hasn't rained since I got this phone and there is no rain currently in sight
Snowed the other day and it started animating!

Wow I'd gladly trade for that over my lockscreen-weather-animation-thing-definitely-working-100%-and-animating-snow-all-the-goddamn-time-up-in-canada phone
Funny, I didn't even know I had this enabled until it was snowing last night. I've had my phone for a month and this is the first time it's appeared.
We've had plenty of rain & snow in those 4 weeks. It seems so sporadic!
I would like to see ALL weather animations, not only rain and snow, there is also sun, cloudy and so on. But for a reason that only LG know they are deactivated.
Before the V30 I've had a G5 and a G3 and with some custom roms it was possible to see ALL weather animations.
I don't understand, why LG has made this, for what they have ALL animations, when it is not possible to see all of them.
On the G5 and G3 with stock roms it was also only possible to see rain and snow.
Perhaps in the future one of the devs. here in this wonderful forum will find a way to realize this.

Are you using the default weather app that came with the V30? I upgraded from a LG G3 where I could manually add a widget to the lock screen. I used the Digital Clock & Weather app from MACHAPP with no problems at all. I am unable to add a widget to the lock screen, and even with the Weather animation setting turned on, I never see the animation.
Maybe it only works with the default app?
I'm still searching for a way to activate all weather effects in the lockscreen. I trink it can't be difficult, but I don't know how.
Perhaps somebody can explain me how to do it. PLEASE...

Settings. In stock firmware Settings, use the search feature for "weather". I also have all my settings screenshots in Google Photos link at the bottom of post #1 of all my KDZ threads, WTF instructions and Frankenstein instructions.
Thanks for your answer but I think you didn't understand what I mean.
Surely I know where to activate the weather animations on lockscreen.
But in stock there is only an animation when it rains or snow falling but there are also animations for sun, cloudy weather, fog and thunderstorms.
For reasons that only LG know these animations are not active.
xpirt has made a flashable zip for nougat rom 11m where all this weather animations were active. The problem is, he has changed to Samsung and now I think he will not work anymore on LG stuff.
Now I would like to have this also on oreo 21o rom. That's all.

Then you know more about this than I do. I only see rain, snow using LG app. I didn't know there were unactivated LG weather animations.
I have Beautiful widgets that shows me lots of animations like you describe, but when I UNlock the screen, not on the lockscreen. I've had that for years, with non LG phones also.

You're right, in unchanged stock it is only rain and snow but with some changes in LGKeyguardEffect.apk and some things more it is possible to have also sun, cloudy, fog and thunderstorm.
The only thing is I don't know what are the changes.

Thx.
I'll look into porting the G7 keyguard app into my module. Problem is I'm not sure we'd know it's working or anything new until we have that weather for new animations?
I did a quick compare of the checksums of the keyguard apk from the latest G7 images I have and and the stock rom I'm running and they were different so there could be new stuff. IDK

I am having the same problem.
The hell of it is, I downloaded the free version and it was working fine. After I paid it worked fine as well, then it stopped.
I didn't notice the "it has problems with the Galaxy series" warning until after I paid - even then I didn't think it was a big deal because it was working at that point.
I have the Sprint GS3, Carbon 1.3, Nova Prime.
It would be great if it could work again.

I'm thinking you have to cut the image up and set the individual screens, which does still work. Just not the one piece wallpaper.
My problem is not scrolling.
It is that individual desktop areas display only one picture, despite having set individual pictures for each desktop.
I realize this is different than the original poster's problem of the loss of scrolling. I don't think MPW does scrolling on a single image, though. I thought the point was many images.

That is weird indeed. MPW allows me to set the individual pictures for each screen and that does work. However, it is also supposed to allow you to also do one single picture across all the screens which I know Samsung had disabled but I know certain ROMs have the wallpaper scrolling in effect.
It's possible it has something to do with Nova as well. When I first loaded the rom onto my Note 2, I had the wallpaper scroll and had turned it off because it was rather annoying me at the time, now it no longer works, no matter what I do or what options I choose.
Solved. Download Wallpaper Setter. Worked like a charm
I'm trying my darndesnt to change my lock screen wallpaper on nexus 4. Multipicture and Nova Launcher wallpaper function do not work the same when it comes to crops. So annoying.
If I could change my wallpaper via adb or something that would be awesome, or if at least Multipicture would crop the same way Nova or Wallpaper setter crops I'd at least be somewhat happy.
Don't want a replacement lock screen, just want to change a lock screen wallpaper!
If it makes you feel any better. I changed from multipicture to a static wallpaper, and the app stopped working for me completely. Can't get the screens to change or scroll.
[Edit] I was finally able to get it. I ended up having to remove the cache and then it started working like a charm.

Maybe I've deleted the .apk file for live wallpaper ? i dont know.. has any one experienced the same problem ?

hy.you use the go launcher and everything will work (SG note 2)
Meh.. I have the same problem with MP Live. I had it installed for a few weeks but just got around to trying it yesterday. I couldn't specify different wallpapers for each home page screen. gave up and uninstalled it.
But it left my main home screen animated wallpaper running across all 6 homescreens whereas before the other 5 screens had a static image.
hmmm..annoying..can't seem to fix it !
I had done a TWRP full system (all 7 partitions) backup 2 days previously so I thought why not restore the lot - that should guarantee a fix !
So I did, but no fix !!! Go figure !
Can anyone explain that ?
My problem with Multipicture Live Wallpaper was that it just couldn't apply. Since I have set Nova Launcher to Scrolling Wallpaper "enabled" everything is being buttery smooth =)
Hope it helps
P.S. Look at that video it helps understanding the options of the apk : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BUwpoDmvUe8#t=477
Yeah what I think would fix all of your guys problems is you have to have 'Wallpaper Scrolling' ENABLED (FORCED, IF NECESSARY) in your launcher application (Nova, Apex, Go, ETC) and make sure it is working on ONE wallpaper before trying it with the multi-picture live wallpaper app... ALSO i was having a similar issue where even after I did that, it never worked... So here's multiple solutions to try:
1. Make sure Wallpaper Scrolling is ENABLED and WORKING in launcher
2. Make sure you have NO COMMON PICTURE SETTINGS in multipicture live wallpaper, if you are not sure how to reset this, just go and FORCE STOP and CLEAR APP DATA in manage apps
3. Set options for however many screens you have... for example if you have 3 Home screens make sure in your M.P.L.W. app you have added 3 screen settings, and set them all seperately.
4. It might be the reolusition of the photo (or ONE of the photos) you are trying to apply... since this app does not come with any cropping, editing function, etc unfortunately, you need to make sure all wallpapers are compatible with your phones resolution.
5. last, but not least, make sure that the application is located on PHONE and not on your SD CARD in manage apps
If you have done ALL OF THESE and it is still not working... I dont know what else to tell you. Look for youtube videos/etc... ?? anyway, I HOPE THIS HELPS Happy androiding. :good:

Your app is great. Can you add a Google Search module? IT works through the window, but is not correctly sized or touch-friendly.
On the next version:
Been using this ever since day 2 with my G4
Very well done app, and I recommend it to all.
Minor issues:
1- The music module will not launch Play Music, but if Play Music is already running, then it will control playback.
2- Voice recorder stops and deletes the current recording if I lock the screen
Looking forward to that watchface update

1. The music module is pretty idiot. It doesn't know which music player do you use (unlike LG's music, which uses LG music...), so instead of guessing, it only support Android Media Controller API. Although, if you paused a track long time ago, it should be able to remember that thanks to that API.
2. Since the screen stays on all the time, I think that it should be like that. Do you turn off the screen with recorder a lot?

(Just for argument's sake, this is really not very important to me)
Turning the screen back on takes me to the same red screen in the app (within the Quickcircle).
I think I see what's happening. From the Quickcircle screen, once I start voice recording, if I lock the screen then unlock it using only the button in the back of the phone, that somehow stops the audio file from being created, even though it shows as if it's still recording After I press stop, I can't find any of my recordings.
If you're worried about people forgetting to stop the recording, maybe a file size limit can be put in place?
Again, I don't really need this, It's just to answer you / clarify what I said earlier.

No sir, THANK YOU!
I was going to make a post here today praising this app. Great job on this!
I don't know if it could even be possible, but what do you think about a Quick Radar app? You could input a zip or postal code into the app and quick radar will get the regional weather radar for that area.
EDIT: Something that surprised me today....I was swiping through the watch faces and saw the red X for the face that this app installs. I clicked the red X thinking it would just remove that watch face. It ended up uninstalling the entire app! I was so confused. Should that red X on the watch face really uninstall the whole app or is it meant to just remove that watch face from the list?
Nice app

Is there any chance for custom tweaks via substratum on lgv30 Oreo 8.0? I was hoping to move clock to center of status bar and hide battery bar.
With Oreo, you should be able to use any Substratum themes you want with rootless Andromeda plugin.
Really?? I thought I read somewhere here that LG doesn't have substratum support on oreo. Also read few play store reviews on substratum and individual themes that it's not working on the V30. Has anyone had success with it?

I was not able to apply a Substratum theme to Settings, which perhaps could be related to an LG theme I had previously installed? Also experienced the Andromeda disconnect when uplugging the phone from the computer, so I had to apply the themes while the phone was still connected to the computer.
So not as straightforward of a method to apply themes as is Substratum on Nougat, but at least we have more theme options now!

Ah good to know I'm not alone. Are you able to apply to most things other than settings? Most notable for me is the quick toggles and shade not changing. I'm doing the same thing as you to avoid the disconnection. Also having issues where applying themes hangs at times, but that's a relatively small gripe just have to disconnect and try again.
Just incase you guys didn't know, if your using a swift theme, you can join the telegram group and get help from the developers, you can also report things not working and they usually resolve it in the next update

I'll have something for us in a week or two with LG support. I've already started the process of making something. Sadly Bell is slow with the ota so I'm working blind until I get mine.
Center and left clock will be among features I will add too!
Lg theme system has been holding my creativity back let me tell ya! I'm very excited for this

Would you be able to include the two tweaks I mentioned at the beginning of this thread? Either in a theme or just as a tweaks package. I world gladly pay for them.

Well once I get Oreo on my phone I can work on adding clock tweaks but since right now I'm using testers I'm not going to try any because there is a strong likelihood of a systemui FC which means the only fix is a factory reset. I can't in good conscience expect people to test that for me.

Makes sense. No rush or anything. I mostly am concerned about hiding battery bar. I prefer to just see the battery percentage, but I also like when the clock is centered. I haven't had this since i had a rooted phone (on kit Kat) because I rocked a blackberry for awhile, but anything you can do whenever you could do it would be amazing. ?

Yeah idk about hiding the battery. I've never tried. We'll see. I have so much work to do to get this project ready.

It's not that we want to "hide" the battery status, it's the LG has TWO redundant icons in the status bar to represent the battery -- which takes up too much space. They have both a percentage icon (that 95%) to represent the battery status AND an old fashioned dry cell "D" battery icon to represent battery status. WHY?

I'll tell you why. Because the 95% by itself is confusing. 95% carrier signal, wifi, what? And the ugly battery bar by itself doesn't tell you exactly how much battery you have. But LG really messed it up.
We don't need to see both a huge battery bar AND a percentage, side by side. And that battery bar is ugly -- so, yes get rid of the battery bar. (My lithium ion phone battery doesn't even look like that in the first place. )
Put both those functions into ONE icon -- a percentage within a circle. Do you see how VISUALLY you see how much battery you have (a complete circle is 100%) AND you have the percentage too. You still have the BATTERY STATUS. But, takes up less space on the status bar and is more aesthetically pleasing.

It's not broken. It's likely that no one aside from me has added lg support! Current themes only support official Samsung, Oxygen OS, Pixel or custom ROMs. I would bet money that none of the themes you tried listed LG devices as being compatible. You need to read the app description before you make comments like this. It's like when someone downloads one of my V30 themes on their V20 and then rates me 1 star and complains that it either doesn't work or doesn't look right.
hello everyone
i have a few questions about notifications on Huawei mate 20 pro. First, i can't swipe notifications down on the lockscreen to see the full message. I only see the first line. That is very annoying! I had a s9+ before this one and i liked the swiping down of the notifications. Second I also don't see notifications on the always on display. I mean, what's the point of it if you only see the time, date and battery?
Are these things just in the EMUI or can i change it? And would it help if we send emails to them? Oneplus for example listens to their community. Is huawei like that or more like Apple who gives a **** about the community?
i hope you guys can help me!!!
PS: I know that my English isn't great, so i don't need comments on typos :silly:
Need to go into face unlock settings and can turn off the hide notifications before unlock option.

i don't think you understand me. I CAN see notifications and i CAN see what's in the message but i CAN'T expand the notification to see the FULL notification.
I was saying this since day 1 lol. found out if you tap precisely on the little arrow on the top line of the notification it expands them all. I would screenshot but returned my Mate 20 Pro this morning for a refund.

My first one had green screen which was annoying in itself. but I just didnt unbox the replacement so it was easier to return
but yeah:
Notification issues (missed calls just dont really show anywhere unless you open the dialer app too)
Issues unlocking the device - face unlock didnt work very well and I followed the advice to set it up with my face being lit from the front, fingerprint reader didnt work very well for me either and I had tried deleting and adding my fingerprint a few times too - would work fine for the first day. I would always end up having to enter the pin number to unlock it which also annoyed me that I could have a pattern unlock - would have been quicker to do a pattern than a 6 digit pin.
Silence from Huawei on updates, bugs and green screen issue.
I purchased simfree unlocked from a general store and not a network but it still relies on my network for updates.
Camera was great but it did take work to take a good pic - all this please hold still to sharpen and stuff. I never managed to take a quick snap that was in focus lol
Gone back to the Pixel 2 and saving my money for next year, if this gets root and stock android and maybe a hardware revision to elimiate all green screens then I'll come back to it though!

All your points are spot on, except that after a bit of work, i can get incredible camera shots, but I would also add:
Notifications appear and then disappear sometimes, or appear again after I've got rid of them
Swipe down from middle of the screen should be notifications, and not search
No swipe up from bottom of screen to access flashlight etc... like you can do on the lock screen...
Automatic brightness often switches down while I'm unlocking the phone, probably because i'm covering some light while reaching for it, and then doesn't ramp back up, so have turned this off
Native Email Client gets emails 15 - 30 mins after the gmail app...
Mine is a Vodafone UK Pre-Order, LG screen, current screen status:

I agree with both of you. The software is bad imho. I have a LG screen but no green screen problems. I am thinking to return it because of the bad software and the screenproblems. But what phone should i go with then? The only phone that has a lot incommon with the mate 20 pro is the note 9. Maybe pixel 3 xl but it has way less battery, less ram, no super charging...

I would have Huawei over Samsung any day of the week
I have Samsung S9, LG G7 and now this Mate 20 Pro.. honestly Huawei is amazing piece of HW, but the software side is way behind LG or Samsung.
You will just spot all the missing features during daily use. There are so much useful things that works on LG/Samsung, but are missing on Huawei.
Is there some official email, or developer forum, where we can post feature requests?

yep, that is what i mean. There are a lot of little things on samsung that makes it for me better. for me software > hardware. although samsung has both.
Hi guys, I want to use this Thread for share the bugs and the problems of android 11 update from sony.
In the end I'll can share all this bugs to Sony Developers and hope for a fix.
My device: Sony Xperia 5 ii [Firmware Vesrion: 58.1.A.1.178 Android 11]
Problems & Bugs:
1- When you get a notification with the always on display: the icons of apps that have a notification are no longer displayed example: instagram or telegram icon are not displayed in the always on display.
2- In multitasking the ability to copy text directly into any app has been removed (it was a new android 11 feature that sony apparently removed) .
3- The application drawer now (in android 11) has a completely black background in "dark mode", and not dark gray like the previous version. (there is no possibility to set dark gray) .
4- The shutdown screen is not adapted to the 21: 9 screen and is too far up and difficult to reach.
5- The flashlight when used makes very little light compared to any other smartphone. Problem also of the last android version.
6- There is no possibility to use android's original Theme and Backgrounds system to change interface color and icon shape.
7- [!NEW] Black screen when you make a screenshot on videos.
8- [!NEW] The notification light blink too slow and is not easy to see if you get a new notify.
If you find a bug or problem please reply
• Little update 02/03/21 (MM/DD/YY): I contacted sony from the chat in real time and I reported all this bugs to developers.

I'll add increased battery drain.
I had a random reboot about 3 hours after updating. Can't be sure it was anything to do with the new version as I wasn't using the phone at the time. Just saw it go off and the SONY boot screen appear.
i got two reboots, one during typing a whatsapp message and the other when i plugged it into a charger
Got another one this morning, only realized when i took the phone out of my pocket and it asked me to enter pin
Grr, another restart, so I did a backup, factory reset and a restore.
Fingers crossed that does the trick

That does sound like a lot of reboots! I've not had any since the one on the first day of update.
Struggling to see that much benefit or difference to Android 11 if I'm honest. I like the screenshot in task switcher but nothing much else new. More negatives if anything! Someone else posted about the black screen when holding the power button for example.
I've just noticed notifications history doesn't show. The 'Notification log' is empty.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue but my always on screen is showing out of date notification icons. The ones in the attached picture show notifications I've definitely swiped away previously!
My always on display is set to display on movement but I can't see changing that option will make any difference to the icons.
my sony 5ii XQ-AS52, is working in a very weird way
caler id- when im having one cal at the time, everything is a okay.
geting caller id of a waiting call while im all ready in another call isnt working. i can hear sound of another call but no caller id just black screen
ui- when you open app and return to home screen, the the apps that are pin to the uper spot of the screen are starching up in very weird and unatural way. its not consistent.
sudden mute- Microphone stops working intermittently during calls.
geekbench- 30 percent drop in performance tests
some thoughts:
i tried to get humen suport from google, regarding to stupid problem with chrom freezing sins the day of android 10, but they are only referring to useless articles.
this inst the first/second/fifth android version, this isnt the fisrt time this tsunami of bugs is raining on users affter major system update, so why the hell this procedure isnt improving??
its make me very angry to see how many people with different devices having so much troubles
pepole that spent a lot of hard erning money for their smartphones.
in time perspective, android is getting more and more restrictions (no call recording, lot of google blotware pre install and more) the opposite of what brought her to success
how come pepole pays for working devices and google is ruining them and taking the time(or just politely ignore it) to fix it?
why pepole should have to root their smartphones in order to be able to use basic functions like chosing their favorite browser, call recordings and god forgive me the option to delete fb, cod and booking com.
this is without mentioning the time, the brick/warranty risk by rooting.
if software updates are so good why we can roll back in all android smartphones? what is so scary?
i like android, but i dont like the way google is going and this is contrdict to the compony big promise, do not harm
i dont know how to rol back.

Just updating on this one as I don't think the issue is with the update as such. From what I have seen, the icons look to be legitimate notifications that are active, with the exception of the Facebook Messenger icons. Even if I have closed the chat bubbles these still appear. Maybe just an issue with how that app integrates with the lock screen?
EDIT: This is way worse than I initially realized.
The navigation bar/pill is buggy as hell.
First of all, I now have an ugly-ass black bar on the bottom of my screen in a lot of applications (maybe all of them actually, I'll have to check). I even have this bar in full screen/landscape apps which looks even more stupid.
Second, the bar sometimes gets stuck on one side of the screen. Meaning that when I switch from a landscape app to a portrait app, the pill will then be on the right side of the screen for no reason (and vice versa).
Finally, the gesture pill interferes with taps and gestures ALL THE DAMN TIME. Anything that is too close to the pill I cannot tap or swipe.
I open any app, there's a black bar at the bottom for no reason. I play a game in full screen, I can't tap tiny icons on the edge of the screen because the gesture bar interferes. I go back to Niagara launcher, I can't swipe through my app list because the gesture pill is stuck on the right side and, again, interferes.
This is plain unusable.
Battery drain on android 11.. A10 is better for battery life...
Maybe try a factory reset?
Lock screen updates seem to enter deep sleep and even the clock shows a time in the past for a moment when you double tap to wake it. Same with notification icons.
So, here's an update on lock screen mode vs icons/time inconsistencies and also notifications lag.
If you go to Ambient Display settings and then "When to show Ambient display", if you set it to "Smart activation" then the info in the lockscreen is refreshed properly and even more important, notifications when the phone is locked are showing up without delay.
the chat head is being replaced by buuble or something called like that, and it's causing restart when ever you try to tap the plus button
It seems that first A11 security/maintenance (not sure about this) patch has arrived, hope some issues are fixed.
New A11 update just arrived: 58.1.A.3.87 (Feb/1st Security Update)
I just got a new X 5II yesterday.
After i read about some problems with A11, i made a Geekbench 5 test between A10 and A11.
The results are ...
A10 - CPU - SC 898 / MC 2736
A11 - CPU - SC 719 / MC 1951
I reseted the phone and ran the benchmark again.
A11 (reset) - CPU SC 700 / MC 1811
I think there is a lot wrong with the A11 Update.
UPDATE 24 h AFTER THE UPDATE:
The results of geekbench are now a lot better:
SC 880 / MC 3132
Seems A11 is doing a lot of background stuff after the update
@infinity81 You might want to test again after a week or so. There have been multiple reports about this improving after a while. Somebody posted a screenshot with a score of 886/3148 on a different forum.
