Hello all,
I´m sorry Administrators but not sure about which forum to create the post, once the issue affects my HTC One X but also several other brands like Motorolas, Samsungs, etc. mobiles.
I already search on several other forums and also here on XDA Dev (https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/m7-mute-calls-please-help-t2921985), but with no success for a real/final solution for the issue.
All of these mobiles can´t make/receive a phone call. Both sides can´t hear voice.
Looks like it is a Google problem.
In my case, I using Resurrection Remix but it happens with Stock roms also.
Solutions like wipe cash/data, diseable Google Store, Google Service and Google Framework, diseable WiFi, diseable 3G or 4G are just temporary solutions which doesn´t fix defenitively the issue.
According my searches, it is a problem that exists since mid of 2013 and I can´t believe there is no solution since then, so please help me at least just indicating where is the final solution (thread), ´cause I can´t find it and I believe XDA Dev is the TOP forum for that.

If this problem is across multiple phones then it's not a phone or rom problem. How did you handle those calls. Which app did you use? Cellphone and dialer? Wifi and dialer(vowi) chat app or whatever?

This problem happens with multiple phones from lots of people, based on several forums I already looked for solution and not only with me at more than one phone.
I have just my HOX with RR rom as mentioned.
Just looking for a real and final solution.
I can´t believe there is no solution for this issue !
I´m reading about this problem since october 2017, of course not every day and ound several people looking for solution, but all treads/topics I found and read til the end, had no final solution !
I´m using an old LG that alows me phone calls, but I want a solution for my HOX !

Maybe you have warranty? If you can't use your phone like a phone you should give it back or repair it. Otherwise I don't have good ideas... Maybe baseband/modem updates can help, but I'm sure you tried that too, right?
No warranty. It is a 5 years mobile, and I´m sure it isn´t a hardware problem so no reason to repair.
Still think it is a conflict between Google apps or WiFi/Network and some software at ROM (not specificaly my RR).

You can try installing the ressurection remix rom without Gapps and test. And what I don't know yet: which way you did the call(wifi, cellphone, volte, others?). As I wrote: could be modem/baseband issue...
That´s a good idea Strongst. I´ll wipe all after back up and re-install RR only for some tests.
Regarding calls, I´m using cellphone calls, so nothing related to WiFi or 3G/4G which I believe also not related to modem/baseband.
Is that right ?

Modem/baseband are the drivers for cellphone and wifi, not on every device. But maybe on yours. Good luck :good:

I wiped (Dalvik, System, Cache and Data) and installed again RR without Gapps.
On the first call I made, after few minutes sound stoped I mean, the other person coudln´t hear. I realize the screen locked.
I hang up the phone and tryed again avoiding screen to be locked.
Everything was fine.
After that made some calls turning WiFi on and off and also Network (3G/4G) on and off.
Everything was fine again.
On the last test I allowed the screen was locked and calls kept 100% OK.
Now I´m don´t know if I have problems with lock screen also, but without Gapps, calls were OK.
You mentioned modem/baseband. Can it also be a problem ? How can I check it (if necessary) ?
Would be the next step re-install Gapps and check the malfunction ?
I almost trying Red-X methodology as I used at GM during Hummer H3T launch on Shreveport plant...LOL...

Settings - about - baseband. Here you can see the version. Then look at your device forum if it's latest baseband.
And yes, now you should try with gapps the same tests

I found one thread on Searching in One X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum that mentioned Baseband 5.1204.168.31 and my baseband version is 5.1204.167.31.
As far as I understood, Baseband is related to signal, same as Radio (I´m not an Android expert, so please correct me if I´m wrong) and I´m not facing problems with signal during phone calls. Do I need to proceed with some specific test ?

Yeah, without Gapps it's not smart anymore Pico gapps are always my choice in terms of minimal Google functionality:good:
I don't know if it's possible to flash another baseband/modem to the HOX like on other devices to check whether it's better or not.
Maybe you can check the HOX forum if there's a problem tread with modems and if they can be up/downgraded without bricking your device.
New version of Gapps 5.1 pico installed.
All apps (non Google) instaled also.
No issues until now.
I don´t believe modem/baseband is the real problem.
Let me try some calls (make/receive) for some days and then I´m going to feedback on forum.

Maybe it was a dialer problem of the gapps you used

Extremely frustrating and desapointing !!!
Mobile worked just for no more than 4 or 5 phone calls.
After that, only after deleting all data from Google Play Services, Play Store, Services Framework and re-starting mobile for 2 or 3 phone calls with poor sound quality and than problem comes again.
For sure it is not a dialer problem of the gapps once I´m using the basic dialer from mobile and not any other app for phone calls.
There is one interesting point that make phone calls with Whatsapp works 100%., even without deleting Google apps "buffer" as mentioned.
Sounds like some conflict between Gapps and internaal memory or some phone management app.

at first - BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU ACTIVE CUSTOM ROM GUYS!!
With all your FAQs, Videos and postings, you made it possible - and easy - for me, to get rid of the annoying Sony ROM by rooting and installing a custom rom.
Currently I am running CM10 FXP230 on my Xperia U. I know it is not a stable version, but still a great improvement in speed for me and also the first ROM i discovered during my internet research for an alternative to the slow stock sony stuff.
However, i am facing some problems during the daily usage of my phone, perhaps one of you can support me during finding a solution for some of them.
1. Updating ROM
Pretty basic question, just need a confirmaton that i understood it the right way. I download the new Version of the custom rom (e.g.fxp232), copy the zip onto the smartphone and reboot into recovery mode. There i use CMW to first wipe cache and delvik cache, then select and install new version from zip.
Correct way so far?
What about the Google Apps? Do i have to reinstall them too?
Do i have to backup the SD card data and my apps,?
2. The Camera Fix
At the beginning i thought that i could live with an inverted camera due to the fact, that i am not taking many of them with my phone. but during the last weeks i had to face the facts - its important from time to time :cyclops:
During my search in this forum i found a user linking to a file called "FXP231_CM10_CamReverse_Fix".
Does this work only with FXP231, or also earlier and later versions?
How do I install it, like gApps in CMW?
3. Alarm Clock
I am using my phone as an alarm clock almost every day. Its plugged in to recharge during the night. Sometimes the phone crashes during the night time and the alarm is not going off. The display turns dark, no reaction to any button i plress, only the little signal light at the top right is glowing constantly. I have to take out the battery every time and make the same changes in settings over and over again.
Is this the "deepsleep" problem everyone is talking about? Is it connected to the cpu settings - I did select "conservative" there. Whats causing the problem?
4. Dial Pad
Every time i am dialing an unknown number the touchpad is hardly responding. It can take up to 5 minutes to enter all numbers and dial. I already deactivated the T9 contact search, still no improvement. Anyone any similar expieriences?
5.General Custom ROM Question
During my journey through this Community I found out, that there are a lot of different roms available. Some - with only minor changes - based on other custom roms, some based on sony.....whatever. Right now i am totally confused that ROM to use (if the above mentioned problems cant be solved!!)
I just need a quiet fast and reliable ROM to use in daily life - well this is everyones wish i guess......
So what am I doing with my phone? Basically I am just using my phone to call people, use whatsapp, check mails, manage my appointments and take a spontaneus picture from time to time. No Video, Twitter, Facebook, Games and what else is out there...........and no big experiments and time to backup, upgrade and reset my phone stuff every week.
Should I go back to CM9?
Cant I install a "normal google android" rom? Might sound stupid, but isnt there some kind of "pure" rom for all phones, that gives you the same comfort as the sony stock rom (-> update and functionality) ?
Even if there is not THE correct answert to this question, maybe some of you can at least suggest some interesting ROMs, that might fit

First of all, this is a long question and you must donate me for answering. Haha. Just joking but you need to consider yourself and get experiences.
1. Reboot CWM and install the ROm amd Gapps needs to be reinstalled.
Wipe dalvik cache and cache then reboot. You're updated.
2. It is for FXP231 and so you must install 231 in order to have fixed
3. Go to deepsleep so much in CM10. Some said pretty awesome because it saves battery but it is in deep sleep so you can't really control your phone no more. Like you can't awake in the morning because you are in deep sleep.so hard to wake up. And yes your problem is deep sleep.
4. Use Go Dialer or Touchpal Dialer. Download from Play Store. It will make you better. Stock is still laggy and under development.
5. I run SlimCM which is CM9 and everything works except sound bug and FM Radio. Sound bug can be fix with Viper4Android. Run CM9 which is great, fast and stable.
And I really want to advice you is find out more yourself. It's more getting trouble but you will become more awesome I answer your question short so don't mind me about that but if you need anything, just quote and ask. Bye.

Sorry for asking again, but most times i just dont have the needed phrase to search for - combines with 50+ pages of results it really drives me crazy sometimes. After making a, lets say really stupid mistake, installing the rom in the beginning, it took me almost ages to find the threat to return to the beginning and reinstall it properly.

Okay, so now i know that "my deepsleep problem" is kind of a reversed version of almost everyone eleses deepsleep problem. Everyone wants his phone to enter deepsleep, i want to prevent that.
Will this app solve the problem? Deep Sleep Battery Saver
I mean, if I can set the phone to "wake up" short before my alarm time it might work, right?
I read something about Apps causing the problem, especially messenger apps. Can anyone verify that information, or is it some random guess?

Also I found out, that the Phone should not enter deepsleep while being charged. Unfortunately this seems to happen to mine over and over again.

DS battery saver is the one for some phones that cannot go into deepsleep. It force the phone to Deep Sleep with some profiles to make your phone not deaf. Good app and I'm using it.
Blah blah blah, anyway, it's the ROM problem I think but you can simply reply FXP's CM10 about the fix No worries. I think you can fix nothing at this stage. And also I thought Alarm app crashing amd screen not waking up is not only the Deep Sleep issues but also the rom bug of excessive Deep Sleep or alarm app not fully functional. Please reply to the rom thread and wait for answer! High Five!!

You have no idea how happy I am this ROM exists!! But I cannot get SMS working. I get FC's on every SMS app I try including Hangouts. Anybody else getting this and/or have a remedy? Thanks
I was about to post the same error here, I have an Amaze with Videotron, S-Off, Super CID, HBOOT-1.93.2222 (JuopunutBear), TWRP as a recovery.
I tried everything, I tried different Gapps, I also tried without installing Gapps, I tried sms apps from the Play Store and Hangouts too. The only thing I haven't tried is formatting my internal SD card. (it was a clean install, all formatted and cache cleared). I also tried switching to ART but I had the same problems.
Everytime I try to just open the sms apps, the app crashes. I managed to see the error once and it was something about SQL but it might be a misinterpretation from my part.
Calls, 4G and WiFi were all working perfectly too.
After some research on Google, I tried installing busybox, xposed framework and uninstalling Voice+, but nothing works. The basic messaging app just closes without any kind of message and other apps show that it stopped working.
(I tried the Evervolv rom 4.4 and SMS were working on that one, maybe it's a setting with my network type as I am on Videotron in Canada and it is using AWS, maybe a setting under *#*#4636*#*# ??)
I want to contribute and sen some log of that error, how can I do that? I am familiar with roms, kernels, etc but not that much with logs... I tried many roms before and never got that specific problem...

It's not just you SMS simply doesn't work on this rom and I was surprised to see that no one else pointed this out in the original thread. The default Messaging app closes immediately when you try and open it. Other SMS apps also crash either immediately upon opening them, or when you try to send a message (hangouts & SMS Pro for example). This is the only thing keeping me from using this amazing rom as my DD.
I have the same exact problem with SMS- will try the evervolv 4.4 though was really looking forward to CM11
Edit: also didnt have any other problems with the rom except for the black boxes and the camera

In olden days there were some issues with some google things not working, and people uninstalling the ones that came in gapps and downloading them fresh from the play store.
Have you gone into recovery and fixed permissions?
Again, in days of yore, this might straighten some things out.
Is it possible that black-boxing has something to do with CPU frequency, and is it possible to tweak up the speed through developer options and lose the boxes?
I haven't tried this rom yet, as I'm currently sticking with the stable(r) cm10.

The black box issue has nothing to do with GPU or CPU speeds. There are discussions on the dev threads. The issue affects other legacy devices on various KK based source builds, not just Amaze and CM. The consensus is this seems to be related to the default browser which has changed in KK. This would also explain why it effects other gapps too.

Not that I'm aware of.
Media Issues
The ROM is pretty good for the most part.
I just have this problem where Play Music gives this error, "Cannot play the music track you requested"
I clear my media storage and try to rescan my SD card but none of the apps work. They all crash.
Is there anyway to fix this?

May i ask what is the current status for bugs/not working and other issues and what has been fixed and any other stuff we should flash over the ROM like driver, may it be upoaded to the OP for ease as its reall hard to search for those things on mobile app. thank you and good luck.
Anyone else have issue disabling their microphone while in a call? I tried with both the speaker phone and regular handset mode, the "no mic" icon enables but my caller can still hear me. The Hold button seems to work fine though.
FYI, it took a while for the battery to figure itself out. I wiped the battery stats before flashing everything and the first few days I got a lot of jumping battery levels. I let it charge all the way down as much as I could then rebooted and did a full charge and rebooted again and then full charge again. That seemed to reset the battery level to the correct state.
I also , enabled Device/GPS only for the location detection other wise the google services at 50% or more battery.
I'm running the 2014-02-16 build, with the updated video drivers.
Camera is not working
I have also installed this pacman rom 4.4.2. all is well instead of camera.
Any updates for the camera isssue??

Since PAC uses the CM device tree for its source any issues with CM will also be evident in PAC. Until the CM devs are able to resolve the camera exposure issue it will exist in both ROMs.

Think about your question for a minute. Have you seen any recent posts in the CM dev thread indicating an update which solves this issue? If you had just taken a moment to look at the dev thread instead of posting this you would have answered your own question. It's not like the CM-11 thread is incredibly long, it's only 28 pages total. This post is just laziness on your part and an unnecessary waste of bandwidth.

I have a Nexus 5, unmodified and unrooted on 4.4.4
I disabled background data recently because I was running out.
I noticed that the Google Now Launcher had a "No Internet Connection" box even when connected to home Wi-Fi.
I re-enabled background data and pulled down to refresh.
I now have no cards at all, when there were previously some old ones.
I have cleared data and cache of both Google Now Launcher and Google Search.
I have rebooted multiple times.
I have uninstalled updates and reinstalled updates for both Google Now Launcher and Google Search.
I don't know what to do at this point, other than a full device reset.

You can try deleting the home network and then reconnecting to it.

I know its not a wrong thread to ask but I am facing this issue whenever I recieve call and using the phone, no option comes up to accept or reject plus navigation bar also hides. Can anyone please suggest me whats the issue. Have searched other threads but no luck.

Has anyone tried a full device reset?
I got some cards. When I pull to reset, I get "no internet connection again."

I installed the L preview and played with it for a few hours and enabled the "Google Now Everywhere" option, which I assume toggles some setting at Google, so that's probably how it happened for me.

I used the hack, but Google Now Everywhere is supposedly rolling out to KitKat devices too with the latest update. But with the above person seeing an issue on an iPad tells me it's on Google's end.

I haven't used any hacks at all. I think the Google Now Everywhere thing might be it. Can someone link to what it's about? I haven't found anything specific by googling.

The latest version of Google Search, 3.5.14, has the OK Google Everywhere thing. If you're not on that version, I don't think it'd be what's causing the connection issue.

I was on that version. Downgrading Google Search has fixed my issue. Thanks for the workaround! Also, I was not able to get OK Google hotword detection to on the lock screen, despite being on 3.5.14...

I have a device suffering this same. But by having installed CM11/12 all the time never experienced until go back to stock Motorola. Just to sold it and see the new owner told me about the problem, wanting to have his money back.
Version 4.2.x and lowers are working. Once the phone installs last 4.3.x or 4.4.x the problem starts.

Been using that rom for some time now, but still no luck with my Pebble. I realy use it, and get used to it. Now it almost 75% of the time is disconected. I tried everything. Previously on 4.4.2 I had no issues. But I wanted the new 5.0
I tried to write there in the gooh topic, but nonone seemed to care about it. and with the speed of 20 posts per hour, my question was fast lost in the conversation. Maybe someone else from the comunity had simmilar issue? Any advice will be greatly apriciated.

I have been having pebble connectivity issues, and I believe it's just rom compatibility because it's been an issue with all lollipop roms for me. This is what I did to fix the issues.
1. Uninstall the pebble app
2. Unpair the watch on both the phone and the watch
3. Install the app
4. Login and follow the instructions, pairing the watch using the app.
5. Make sure that notifications are turned on for it and that it is not greenfield.
6. Go in to settings, device, accessibility, make sure it's on
7. Go in to settings, sounds and notifications, notification access, enable it.
8. If a watch face is not updating (weather), switch to another face and then switch back.
I have found that restoring the app via Titanium Backup/Rom Toolbox, creates some issues too. Installing the app fresh from the market seems to be the most reliable.

Acctually I had it installed from TitBack!, also I'm not sure about Accessibility option (if it was or not) for now it works, but I'll see for how long.
Another issue is (was before too) that any notification are coming always doubled. That's sick

This not a ROM, but a kernel issue. Had a similar problem with my Xiaomi Mi Fitness Band. It would only connect reliably after I flashed Civato 3.5 kernel.

Hi everyone, Im a bit desperate right now, since Ive searched all the internet (or I tried) and all of xda, but couldnt find a solution to my problem. Also Im unsure what causes it (ROM, device, some app,...?), which is why Im posting in the general section. So on to my problem:
I have a Oneplus 6, with the most current official LOS release. Sometimes when I unlock my phone, some random app will start. I said semi-random, because its mostly Instagram or Authy, probably depending on which of the two I had opened most recently (actually sometimes both will open; I see Authy for a split-second and then instagram will appear and stay), but never (as far as I remember) other apps, even if I had antoher one open before it happens.
Now, I recently discovered that I can reproduce the behavior if I go to developer settings and change the display cutout setting to something different. It will reliably happen. So the screen goes black for a second, (probably re-drawing the UI) come back and Instagram will open. This led me to the idea that the UI crashes in a way. When it happens after unlocking the device, its always black for a second as well, while usually the screen is just there.
I only found evidence of the problem online regarding Samsung phones, mostly using Nova. Im using Nova as well, so that may be the cause. But I dont know for sure.
Does anyone know this problem? Why is it always one of those two apps, that appear? Can a log help me find the issue?
Things I already tried: factory resetting and setting up Nova from the ground.
Help very much appreciated
EDIT: I dug through the log file a bit and found something interesting (as far as I can say, Im far from an expert). I attached the relevant part, may be someone can tell me what happens?

You said factory restore not reflash buddy use the appporiate wording you have a expensive phone you want to modify it and when issues happen you come here if you stood on stock with no modifications or custom rom you wouldn't have this issue I would suggest simply using an alternative launcher

look, if you do not want to help me, thats perfectly fine, then please just dont post. I reflashed the ROM when factory resetting and flashed OOS in between.
If I wanted advice on which ROM or launcher to use, I would have asked for it.
