I flashed the clockworkmod for the first time. After that went back to menu by holding power + vol - but I can only see the usb icon and downloading icon. No recovery option. if I go into usb mode it just stucks there and on top bootloader: uknown. Anyone know what's up? I'm using the google IO tablet btw.

Have you flashed the recovery or just booted it.....anyways
If you have got a rom with extended power menu you can reboot in recovery that way...
If not, get your recover.img and put it in a folder on pc.
go into fastboot mode (vol. down. / Power then select USB) and type :
Fastboot boot recovery <path>recovery.img
you could also try ROM manager...
No USB-boot
I got the exact opposite/same issue on my 10.1v,
I can only see the recovery and Downloading... icons and not fastboot.
See attachment for a screenpicture of what I get when pressing VolDown + Power.
Recovery, adb, and rooted ROM all work great - but fastboot aint an option...
Can't test isimobile's ICS-rom without fastboot
edit:
attachment buggered up.

Thanks for the tips on using ROM manager. That solved my problem, finally able to try the CM9 Kangs rom
Hi all
I have used search and I can find results that pertain to other devices but not specifically Galaxy S3 (I9300).
I've been trying to flash a new ROM onto my phone.
To do this:
- I rooted the phone using Odin and installed CF Root + CWM package.
- After doing this, I did the 3 button reset to enter Recovery mode. However, the phone always entered into Download Mode (Odin Mode / "Downloading... Do not turn off target !!"). I was never able to enter Recovery mode.
- So I couldn't use the Recovery mode to install the ROM.
- Instead, I used ROM Manager to do the install (Cyanogen 9) but I did this without clearing the cache.
The result:
- Now if I leave the phone to boot, it enters Cyanogen 9 boot screen but stuck here looping.
- if I try to enter recovery mode to clear the cache, it only gives me download screen.
I've tried a few different uploads to get recovery mode (and it successfully uploads the files I send using Odin) however the phone still enters download mode after the flash.
I'm worried about doing the wrong steps if I follow advice from other sub-forums relating to other devices.
Any tips?
Many thanks.

The three button reset is power button + Home + Volume up to enter into recovery..
You are going to Download mode because you are pressing Power button + Home + Volume down key ...
Read this guide
Recovery mode is volume up while pressing home and then power.
Try this first and see if you can access recovery, if not then flash Philz recovery via odin and then boot into it to clear data, cache etc.
Make sure you read and understand how to use both odin and recovery before you start, otherwise you can brick your phone.

Thanks MoonBlade.
Funnily, I was pressing power + home + volume down to get download mode.
I tried pressing power + home + volume up, which successfully got me into recovery mode.
Strangely reversed.
This seems to have resolved the problem.

I´ve been showing the same problem as this guy.
After install room 5.0.2 I reboot the system and can´t get in again into recovery mode to install gapps.
I tried all combinations power and vol+, power and vol -, power and vol + and - than press repeatilly. Nothing works.
Any ideas?
Is there a possible way to root the g925fxxu3coi9 5.11 S6 Edge? I've heard some guys tried to and got stuck at the bootscreen. And if it is possible, could somebody please reffer me to a guide on how to do it safely? Thank you.
Hey rsnail_valy! I guess you are looking for this thread. I haven't rooted my one yet though TWRP Recovery 2.8.7.1 and Root for G925F Android 5.1.1 (unofficial)
Yeah I saw that thread but it's not really explicit at all, I can't really understand what I have to do reading what it says there, maybe someone could explain...
Hi, Yesterday i root my 925F through this method Just do it bro download all three files. TWRP, Kernel and Super User..
Copy Kernel and Super User file to your phone..
then power off and go in to recovery(Holding Vol Down + Home + Power) ...Flash TWRP through ODIN(Uncheck Auto Reboot in options) After Flashing Holding Vol down and Power to turn off mobile.
After that Go to recovery by Holding Vol up+ Home + Power .
You now in recovery Now Flash Kernel and Super User then you are Ready to go

Umm ... I'm in the same issue as the OP. How do you flash Kernel and SuperUser with TWRP ? You just flash them with ODIN while you are in the Recovery tab, or how ? Please explain, because I tried once to root my COI9 and I got stucked in the bootloop and I just don't want to repeat this again.
After I flash TWRP with Odin then I proceed to flashing Kernel and SuperSU (which I previously copied on my phone) with TWRP from the recovery menu shown on my phone's screen? And also, after this rooting method am I going to be able to use fingerprint scanner on the lock screen? I heard some guys lost this feature of the phone after rooting, is this true?
Hi,

Hi, thanks for the thread. I've been able to enter TWRP. But, after I reboot into the system. I'm having a bootloop, then I can still get into Odin mode and repeat this step. But, when flashing TWRP. Either I'm too quick to turn off my phone. Downloading is at 99%. What can I do to fix this? Then whether to install TWRP when it will reboot to the system? Thanks.
