I know there's a way to do this on Oreo, but don't know about Nougot. I've searched around and haven't gotten very far. I was wondering if there was maybe an ADB command I could run to elevate the apps privilages EX: Greenify and System UI Tuner. I'm on Android 7.0 (NOT 7.1.1) and am unrooted. Anybody know of any such method? If not, can I somehow utilize LG's theme options?
There is no way to do it.
Oreo has OMS by default from google so substratum team were able to make the Andromeda Plugin.
For nougat, The OMS commits has to be implemented into the custom rom(eg. Resurrection Remix)you are using but not just that you have to be rooted in able to use substratum because Andromeda is made for oreo only.

Oh well. There's nothing I could do with the LG theme utility? I'm assuming not; the only way of downloading themes for that is through the LG Smartworld app as far as I can tell and Substratum doesn't say anything about it.

Will substratum work on the Moto z with Android 7.0
some parts of the themes seems to be working with stock N. i have theme my navbar without any issues. but bootloops when i theme the whole system ui
Gesendet von meinem XT1650 mit Tapatalk
Likely no since it doesn't seem to have OMS built right in, evident by the user above having a bootloop after theming the entire UI
Most of the themes bootloops, only theme that worked for me is Swift dark and Swift black from playstore.
It would probably be best to wait for a ROM for the Z that bakes in OMS support just to ensure that all Substratum themes work.
I've also used it for Navbar only and works fine, wouldn't recommend trying much more than that unless you're prepared to fix a bootloop each time.
I got mine working with spectrum theme.
Nougat with turbo z kernel

Hello, I would like to edit some features to my comfort, I have done it very long ago, when android was in like 4.0, and I still remember how to do it sort of(need to read some more), the thing is, does theming for xiaomi redmi note 4 the same as other android versions? or because its miui its built differently? does general theming guides apply also to the redmi note 4? because from what I've tried doing before the system files looks kinda different. I am using aosp extended custom rom atm, so whatever I would like to theme should apply to those type of files(if it matters). Thanks for the help.
anyone? -.-
if you are using miui, then you are only limited to using mi themes, if you are using custom roms , then it depends on the rom devs, most nougat roms will support substratum either in legacy RRO or in OMS .

I looked every substratum theme available, nothing really gives me what I want, few years back, I remember you could edit systemui very easily, you simply had to look for an icon and replace it with whatever you want, but now, I can't even find it and Im quite lost..do you know anything about it?
Finally after Oreo 8.1 update for Moto G5S Plus you can install custom themes to your device using Substratum and Andromeda engine without root. You'll require to purchase Andromeda app from play store (no patches would work, should be installed from playstore only) and another app Substratum theme engine and a windows pc or mac. Just follow this thread on xda for instructions.
https://www.xda-developers.com/custom-themes-android-oreo-substratum/
Since I couldn't upload screenshots here due to some network error on Xda labs app, visit this link for screenshots. I'm using Android Pie theme

Could you walk me through the steps you did after installing all that, I mean the theme setup using substratum.
yeah i am also using this theme and it's awesome.

I had everything downloaded and it was all fine.. But when I was building the theme, it said 'now able to connect to the andromeda end' but it said it's connected on Andromeda how it's shown here on the screenshots. Please help

Did you buy Andromeda app from playstore or installed from some another website??
If you've bought from playstore then you'll also have to download windows or mac link (whatever you own) for Andromeda to run the commands while connecting your phone to PC
I did purchase the app.. And followed the procedure to be done on the PC.... It still didn't work

Can you actually tell me what went wrong??
I have tested several themes and just a few works fine for me. I recommend you to follow carefully the guide and to check out the free "Substratum Pixel Theme", which works for me just with the settings menu colors.

Pie dark and light themes also work fine. I'm using both.
Pie dark works nice but Pie light doesn't, in my phone. Do you do something special or just install as usual?

Hi, So i am new to the whole rooting thing i have a Samsung Galaxy J530F and i want to make the UI look better and i have looked everywhere online and tried downloading substratum but that is useless because you have to pay for it.
Can anyone please tell me how to get themes?
I recommended Substratum
They will use this
Nougat (RRO): Requires root, exposures unsupported, not all themes compatible
as the theme engine!
ALWAYS PREPARED SUBSTRATUM RECOVERY.ZIP Incase you got bootloop!
Just flash substratum recovery (aka remove overlay & etc).zip in TWRP!

Hi thanks for your reply,
Is there a way to get substratum for free? I have looked here on XDA and elsewhere on the internet but can't seem to find it, i install the normal substratum App from the playstore but it then asks me to pay for it.

No Substratum is free.
Hi!
I wanted to know what Custom ROM supports the substratum engine and swift installer?
I have unlocked my bootloader, however i'm not able to determine what custom ROM supports the above.
If any of you have tried or know of a working custom ROM i will surely appreciate your suggestions.
