With this bohemoth. Pie Control is a must install.
Easy to find on the play store....this is the one I like.

Is there a way to permanently disable navigation bar and use swipe gestures instead? (I don't mean hide the navbar, because it appears when you try to use swipe gestures). I would greatly appreciate if anyone would suggest a way!

Not sure which swipe gestures you refer to - swipe up?
After reading this post, I tried Pie but didn't care for how fiddly it was trying to hit the back icon.
So then I found this and am very happy with it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.edgegestures. This, coupled with BX Actions' 'control mode' means Bixby is now my hardware back button (double tap is last app, long press is recents) and Edge Gestures gives me swipe for back.

Im talking about disabling navbar, like in immersive mode and using swipe gestures in the area where the bar was. I did that on my Pixel using Swipe Navigation (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.suphi.swipenavigation)
Swiping up from the bottom center acts as home; swiping up from left corner acts as back; swiping up from right corner up acts as recents
EDIT: Something like home gesture on the iPhone X

Hi Guys,
I had been using Samsung Note series since Note 2. Recently switching to Huawei Mare 20 Pro as Note 9 (Samsung) doesn't impress me with innovation anymore.
But i kind of miss the "Swipe Down Notification" gesture on Samsung phone, since i am new to EMUI, beside using 3rd party launcher, is there anyway to enable it. If not, i think Huawei should look into this as this is really useful for me and may be to others user too. The current swipe down gesture on home screen of Mate 20 Pro, it open up something like search function which not useful at all.
#Huawei #Mate 20 Pro #EMUI
In settings you can add a button to the navigation bar that is dedicated to opening the notifications.
I personally find this button much more comfortable and quick than a swipe.
I've gotten used to the gestures too. Really wish there was an gesture to swipe down the notification bar
Just found your thread.
I got my device yesterday and I'm using the gestures (although there is a learning curve), with my old phone (Mate 10 Pro) I used to use Nova and could swipe down anywhere on the home screen or use the fingerprint sensor to bring the notification bar down. Now with the issues with Nova not working with Huawei's gestures, I'm sticking with EMUI launcher, I just wish there were a few more tweaks we could change.
I am able to use Nova launcher and gestures fine, what issues do you mean?

When u swipe up to go home it brings up the recent tabs, or it'll bring up recent tabs for a second and then go to home screen, very glitchy but i can deal with it.

Using Nova here, no issues with gestures.

Hmm interesting, I've not tried Nova because I read there were issues! Will install and see if I get issues.
I read about the issues too, but decided to try it. I'm using Nova gestures and not system gestures (so still using 3 button system nav) and I think that's why I'm not having issues.

Yeah, that makes sense now, I'm still trying to get used to the system gestures, it's going to take some time.
Where's that option located in settings?

In the main settings menu search "navigation" in the search box at the top and you'll find the option there

Hey, you can use that feature by fingerprint scanner. Follow the below steps to enable the feature.
Go to Device Settings>Security & Privacy>Fingerprint ID>Now Enable the "Show Notification Panel" option.
Hope it would help.

That doesn't work on the mate 20 pro because it has an inscreen fingerprint scanner! I love my mate over my note 9 so much but literally this is the only thing I miss from my note, the ability to swipe down on the home screen in order to bring the notification panel down. And no I don't wanna use any third party launcher cause I like everything stock.
Any ideas anyone?
Im using Evie Lancher. In settings you have swipe down for notifications and it works very very good.
Evie Lancher is very fast and good. For now best for Mate 20 Pro. Try it

No. For now I didn't faind any bug for now.
I solved it using fluid gestures, set the quick gesture down to the right to open notifications, in addition to the infinite options of gestures on the sides, configure it to your liking, use another launcher unfortunately is not the solution, as there is always details that do not let you use multitasking well, even using fluid gestures ...
Using Nova, if you enable Swipe Down = Expand Notification then it works? It certainly does for me with Huawei Gestures enable or not.
System navigation gestures problem on other launcher.
On Poco or Nova launcher phone will vibrate and show multitasking after swipe up form bottom screen to back home.
how can i fix this?
I think that the latest nova beta works fine with gestures.
Give it a try.....

I'm on the current beta of Nova, but I tried this and it's even better than stock guestures (and doesn't have that silly overlay message I had with the xda guesture app)

Thats Fluid NG (and is nothing to do with nova), not system navigation. It works ok, but nothing like as good as proper built in gestures.

I'm using Fluid GN with Nova right now and am having some issues. First, if I close the Fluid GN app from task list, the gestures stop working. For some reason, the service doesn't seem to persist. I used Tasker to fix this, but it sporadically keeps stopping anyways. I have all the power saving etc features turned off for Fluid GN. Any idea how to get it working 100% on the M10P?

Did you disable the Android Battery Optimisations as well? That's separate from Huawei's app battery manager.
Where can we find the Android battery optimisations?

Open settings and search for Battery Optimisations. Then find Fluid NG and make sure its "Not Allowed". Generally you need to do this for any app you need in the background.

I also found you need to activate "home action compatibility" under "advanced"
Is this an issue only Huawei can fix or is it possible for Nova Launcher to eventually work around it? Fluid is a nice stopgap but it just isn't as good as the phones native gestures.
I find fluid a lot better, actually. Much more customisable and more actions to be set.
Agreed, I actually like the functionality fluid a lot more than the stock one. It's just a shame the animations aren't as good though. It's fine for now though.
maybe disable the huawei gestures and use the xda navigation gestures app or an other not native app
Did you guys use ADB with Fluid N.G. or did you just install it as is?
I had problems with fluid and action launcher... since 9.0.0.146... Working perfectly.
All options set off in advanced and both emui and android power management disabled
Still have the emui gestures on as I don't want the bar showing and it then allows back at the top of your screen too

No ADB needed. You can just switch on gesture navigation in phone settings and then run fluid ng
Cant use fluid Navigation gestures... The animation is nowherw near the stock ones...

Can you enlighten that step by step of disabling powermanagement features, cause my accessibility keeps turning off automatically. Altoug I already have battery optimizations off (System > Settings > Apps > Apps > [three dots menu] > Special Access > Battery optimization : Fluid N.G. - Not allowed.
Is there any mod or anyone who can develop oneplus gestures available for 5t or 6 for lg v30 instead of navbar?
Before anyone suggest xda gestures app i don't want that...! Purely gestures on lg stock firmware?
there is a small program - navigation gestures.
available at playstore. it simulates the gesture control with swipes, but has some drawbacks i couldn't fix, so decided to uninstall it. but you may try if it fits to you.
drawback?

I also tried Navigation Gestures (even bought it) but switched to Fluid Navigation, I feel it works better but still not as well as my former OP6 or iPhone but well enough to keep on my V30.
Theres a line at the bottom, when i type something often tapping on this line and phone goes to home screen
no other way

In this (Fluid NG) app you can set the lowest sensitivity. I think it might help.

Hey,
i got the One UI 2 update yesterday.
Since then there is a bar below many apps, that does not seem to support dark mode.+ and wastes a lot of space.
Has anyone found a way to make this bar black/disappear und keep the gesture hint?
Thank you
Is the gesture hint causing it or is it the keyboard button? ?
Why not just turn off Gesture Hints? Completely useless function really. Not needed once you've had the Tab for more than a few days.

Oh, so I guess they broke something in the newest update of One UI 2 on the Tab. Sorry, I haven't installed it on my Tab, but it's fine on my S10.
Looks like you were able to get Google Gesture Navigation working. But how? I installed the latest update with Android 10 and UI 2.1 but I'm still not able to activate it. I only can enable "Full Screen Gesture Navigation" but it's not fullscreen (see Screenshot). Any idea how I could enable the Google Gesture Navigation?

I use GoodLock. It allows you to swipe in from the sides to back out of an app and has just the home on the bottom of the screen. I see "other options" is greyed out - are you using a third party launcher? The Android nav implementation only works on Samsung's stock launcher. But with GoodLock, you can still implement the side swipe gestures.
