Hello
Do you know if we can have the Vo2 max measurment like Stratos on a Pace ROM?
Thanks
Sorry to necro, but this is something I wanted to know too.
I believe that Pace lacks the correct sensor for VO2 max measurement.
It is just the algorithm licensed from Firstbeat. It just compares the pace and heart rate while running to other runners. Not so useful metric. If you want a useful metric use your resting heart rate or recovery heart rate. The recovery heart rate is the difference between last HR in activity and HR 2 minutes after activity. How higher how better.

Is the stratos heart rate monitor really better than pace HR?
I think the pace HR is really bad.
Hello everyone
Has anyone done vo2 max testing with STRATOS with results?
When I do an exercise and I will consult the vo2 I always get the message in the app "the current device can not provide this data"
I also never had any results in the graphic "performance condition"
Can anyone help? Obigado

That is because you are using a PACE.
I tried to measure the vo2max with the stratos but I did not do it even though I had put it in a running program and I had to do it for continuous cardiac measurements and while I was running for 20 minutes it did not take me measurement . What did I do wrong?

73. The maximum oxygen uptake (VO2max)
Maximum oxygen uptake refers to the human body in the maximum intensity of exercise can intake of oxygen content is an important indicator of human aerobic exercise capacity. As one of the important reference data of endurance athletes, high level maximum oxygen uptake is the basis of high level aerobic exercise ability.
The maximum oxygen uptake is relatively personal, with different reference standards for different genders and age groups. The watch evaluates your athletic ability based on your personal information, heart rate and speed during exercise, and changes as your athletic ability changes. Of course, everyone will have their own maximum oxygen uptake limit, which is determined by the individual.
74. How to get the maximum oxygen uptake?
1) Enter accurate personal information in AMAZFIT Watch App;
2) wear a watch for successful positioning and record at least 10 minutes of outdoor running track, and to produce heart rate and reach the maximum heart rate of 75%;
3) After running, you can view your current maximum oxygen uptake level in the watch’s motion recording function or the personal status page in the AMAZFIT Watch App;
Note: At present, only the outdoor run to assess the maximum oxygen uptake, and other sports are not.

no VO2 max on Stratos
Hi! I have followed the instruction from the Stratos manual, took a running session for more than 20 mins with the HR above 75% of the maximum heart rate. I have used Polar H10 as external sensor, connected to the watch and I also had bluetooth headphones connected. GPS was on and recorded precisely the trajectory. Unfortunately VO2max still shows „no data”. Should I enable Huami Lab or any other feature in order to compute VO2? Thanks!
Hi
VO2/Max does work well on the Stratos and gives pretty much identical results to Garmin Fenix 5 Plus, as long as you use external HRM on both.
Firstly, you only get a VO/2 max score on running - no other activities provide a VO2/Max score, even cycling.
To get a VO2/Max score you must do multiple runs to be given your first score- you will know when VO2/Max is starting to get enough data for a score as you will start to get an alert during the first 10 minutes of a run for example: a green alert if improving ie +3 Good or a red alert -1 etc if worse then usual. When you start to see these alerts the device and learnt enought about you to get a VO2/Max score.
Make sure you are using an external HRM - the internal heart rate monitor is not fit for purpose so any VO2/Max score is less than worthless if using internal HRM.
So - to summaries, at first do at least 2 runs a week, at least 20 minutes a time, and try to keep in zone 3 or above and you will be finally given a VO2/Max score, you should see a score after about 6 runs I estimate.
Thank you very much for the useful reply, cumbrianrunner!
After the 4th running session something new happened, I was asked if I want to save the running session in my training day and now appears as a Fartlek running. Before this 4th session I have also activated the Huami Lab - most probably not related to VO2max calculation though. Anyway now the VO2 max is displayed. :fingers-crossed:

Hi im new user of the watch xiaomi amazefit pace i tested and i think when im doing an activity it counts wrong the kcal i ve burned it shows for example i ve done bicycle for 1 hour with endomondo i ve burned aboout 750 kcal and with xiaomi amazefit about 250kcal i set the same settings to both of them and im confused the only diffent thing in endomondo is that it cannot count heart rate the other hardware is the same
Hello,
I'm wondering why the calories burned during an elliptical session monitered by the Pace vary so much. It's crazy. I did the exact same program for all these sessions, a 30-minute with 30-35 seconds at high intensity every 2 minutes, with maximum incline.
Heart rate was pretty much the same every time, but the calories count make no sense. My Schwinn 470 is way too optimistic I think, giving me always 420-440 calories burned for 30 minutes, but the Pace values are out of this world (from 68 to 316)... I'm thinking a realistic value would be around 250 so the Pace was right only once out of 6 sessions?
Anyone noticed these variations while doing elliptical?

Check the HR graph, it's where the problem is. Calories burned calculation is heavily based on HR, but optical PPG used in Pace/Stratos (only one sensor) isn't reliable when you move your arm a lot, for better results use a chest or arm strap.
Ok, but how can you explain then that there is a session where the HR was higher and still showed way less calories burned than an another one with a lower HR?
Average value doesn't matter, without the graphs I can't say anything about the results...
Well, it seems that the last software upgrade changed things a lot. My last 2 elliptical sessions, same routine as before when my Schwinn machine always gave me around 420-430 calories burned while my Pace gave only around 100-130, now, the Pace gives almost the same as the Schwinn, around 420-450 calories burned. Anyone noticed that much of a change in other activities? I read that the last upgrade improved the heart rate detection. Must be the explanation.
Both were improved: HR algorithm (more stable when recording activities) and calories burned estimation (finally they are not underestimated anymore, they are now closer to the values from other sources).
Hi All,
I just replaced my stratos 2 with a strstos3 (the old one died). The watch is what I expected but my surprise is that with the strstos2 the vo2 data was correct but with this one I always see the same value 27 and performance very poor. In addition, the heart rate was ok but when I check my activities and the breakdown for the heart zone, I don't have any time on V2 max or anaerobic. The weird thing is that I do see these values on the watch screen when I'm running or cycling and when I check the heart rate in the app, the values seem to be correct. Anyone facing the same issue and with a solution?
Thank you very much for your help
I use a bluetooth belt since all devices (no exception) do not deliver accurate optical sensor HR data - If you do the same you will have more accurate resutls - My Stratos is giving 54 Vo2 which is almost accurate (my best when I was an athlete was 69
Thanks for your response but I always get the same constant value which is incorrect... On top of it, I have updated the watch to the next version of the firmware and now after 2 min recording the activity it crashes.... A disaster.... Very unhappy about it
