Plasmalite - SwipeUp, SideSwipe, Bixit, AOD, SideSqueeze & more! (1.015 - Feb 26) - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Overview
Plasmalite is a suite of handy things for Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+/Note8 devices, designed to make life easier. Originally started as a simple project to input the corresponding navbar button via swiping up, it has grown exponentially since then. Plasmalite is a hybrid design; consisting of both an app, and a shell backend dubbed the “PlasmaCore.” The app’s user-interface is divided into modules. Each module has its own screen that is accessible via the pullout-menu that runs along the left side of the app.
Features
Root not required
Designed exclusively for the S8, S8+, and Note8
Some features may work better with a bigger (wider) screen
Adds a total of over 105 customizable triggers (SwipeUp: 35 + SideSwipe: 10 + SideSqueeze: 9 + TopTap: 12 + Bixit: 11 + HardPress: 10 + AOD: 6 + General: 12)
Individual vibration control for almost all triggers
Can operate without accessibility services (back and recents will take longer to press, so this is not recommended - see FAQ question below for more details)
If enabled, only the bare minimum accessibility services are requested. Plasmalite only needs this to issue the command to “press” Back, and Recents because unlike the Home button, they have no hardware equivalent. This means it doesn't cause lag.
Works in Secure Folder (when auto-grant accessibility services is enabled)
Designed to reduce false positives by detecting the acceleration of your swipe. This means a slow swipe up won’t do anything, thus allowing you to open a hidden navbar, etc.
A multitude of shortcuts to make life easier (more detail in the following sections)
Works best with the navbar hidden or removed (via 0px mods found elsewhere)
Make better use of your screen - gives you added screen real-estate, since toggling the status bar can be done with one easy gesture. As a result, it also helps prevent AMOLED burn-in in those areas.
No ads. Ugh, I hate ads.
REQUIRES your ability to run a command via ADB
What can it do?
SwipeUp (left, center, right, left-left (diagonal), left-right (diagonal), center-left (diagonal), center-right (diagonal), right-left (diagonal), right-right (diagonal), center wide-press, 2-fingers up left side, 2-fingers up home, 2-fingers up right side, 1-finger up both sides, left corner (either corner can be set to automatically switch to Input Method Chooser while the keyboard is open), right corner, both corners, corner horizontal swipe left, corner horizontal swipe right, 3-fingers up, double-tap bottom edge when screen is on to power off)
SwipeUp & Hold adds more functionality (long-hold – left, center, right; longer-hold – left, center, right; longest-hold – left, center, right; bump swipes – left, center, right)
SwipeUp High adds even more (swipe up to at least the middle of the screen – left, center, right)
SideSwipe adds swipe-in gestures to the right side of the screen (Swipe Up - fast, slow; Diagonal Swipe Up Left - fast, slow; Straight Out Swipe Left - fast, slow; Diagonal Swipe Down Left - fast, slow; Swipe Down - fast, slow)
SideSqueeze adds the ability to squeeze the sides (Normal Squeeze - While Screen On, While Homescreen Open, While Camera Open, While Lockscreen Open, While Screen Off; Long Squeeze - While Screen On, While Homescreen Open, While Camera Open, While Lockscreen Open)
TopTap offers functionality to the top of the screen (double tap status bar – left, center, right; long-press status bar – left, center, right; swipe down a side – left, right; swipe across radius – left, right; swipe across top – left, right; 3-finger swipe down turns screen off)
Bixit remaps the bixby button (normal press, long-press, longer-press, longest-press, panic press, double-tap, triple-tap, instant press, and camera mode)
HardPress is only for users without navbars, who therefore have lost the stock ability to use the hard press area while the screen is on. (hardpress, hardpress & swipe (left, left-up (diagonal), swipe up, swipe right-up (diagonal), swipe right), hard press & hold (long, longer, longest), hard double-press)
Always-On Display customization (left of AOD widget, right of widget, above widget, on widget, below widget, home button area)
Double-tap to wake via the AOD features just mentioned
Automatic Autorotation
Low Battery Shutdown
HoldDown actions – These special actions can do something when first triggered, and then reverse it when you release. Eg. turn on the flashlight when 4-fingers are down, then turn it off when you let go. Or, open the status bar and close it when you release.
A variety of other gestures, as found on the [General] tab, such as: power button long-press; power button double-press; home button long-press; power button + volume down; 4-finger tap anywhere; wide-tap anywhere; open the hidden status bar with one swipe; 3-finger swipe down from the top of the screen will turn it off (works best when the status bar is hidden); automatic autorotation; double-tap on the lockscreen; 3-finger tap on the lock screen; automatically start an app (and optionally press “play”) when headphones are plugged in; passive fingerprint sensor gestures; rolling the volume buttons with your thumb will input tracknext/trackprev.
Where do I get it?
Plasmalite is available via direct download from pocketdevelopers.com. It is not available at this time on the Play store due to uncertainty over Google’s restrictions on apps that use accessibility services, and specifically the violations that could arise from that. There is also concern that it would be inundated with bad reviews from people who do not understand that ADB is REQUIRED. However, should it end up on the Play store at some point, anyone who purchased it via PayPal will be entitled to a free code to redeem towards the store version.
Plasmalite comes with a 7-day trial, during which time all features are unlocked. This allows you to thoroughly test and see if it suits your needs. Once the trial has ended, all features will be locked except for the following:
3 basic SwipeUp zones (left, center, right)
Low battery shutdown
SwipeOff
Fingerprint gestures
Full licenses may be instantly purchased for $5 USD via PayPal. In addition to unlocking all features, you will also be entitled to all future updates of Plasmalite for your device series (as explained in the FAQ). Once the transaction has completed, you will be emailed a license key that can be used on any compatible devices of that series. The key is in the form on a text file that can be saved in your default download directory, or the root of internal storage. From that point Plasmalite will find it and apply it as soon as the app is opened. You can then delete the key - but save the email in case you need it again.
How do I install it?
Currently Plasmalite only officially supports Android 7.x (Nougat). However with this version stable, work on Oreo compatibility will promptly begin.
Install the APK as usual, once that is done the app will provide instructions on how to start the backend (aka "PlasmaCore") via ADB. If you don't have ADB installed on your computer, or don't know how to use it, that is beyond the scope of this guide. There are many, many tutorials on various forums and YouTube with instructions on how to do this - it's very easy!
Due to its powerful design, the core must be started via ADB once PER BOOT of your device. This is because it needs to run at the ADB user-level, which cannot be ascended to via an unrooted device by itself. It can only be started with a computer using the ADB command. However once started, this “spark” can be maintained for as long as your device is running – Plasmalite (both core and/or app) can be fully updated without needing ADB again. But once your device reboots for whatever reason, the PlasmaCore will be unable to start until you issue that ADB command again. This may be a deal-breaker for some, but for others (like myself) who only reboot once every few weeks, it is only a minor inconvenience - especially compared to how helpful Plasmalite is.
Is there anything I should know?
The PlasmaCore is a separate ~2 MB file that is downloaded when you first run the command via ADB.
The core is updated separately from the app. In the future it may become part of the apk.
Starting the core will also automatically grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS and READ_LOGS to the app. These are needed for the app to function. There is no need for you to grant these manually.
What if I have a 0px navbar mod installed, and the PlasmaCore isn’t running because I rebooted or my battery died?
Plasmalite was originally only intended as a way to make the buttons on the navigation bar easier and quicker to access, but it is also ideal for use in situations where you have no navbar at all (eg. 0px mods, or other apks you can install to remove the navbar completely). Unfortunately, this presented a very bad scenario: what if you rebooted away from a computer, and now had no way to input back, home, or recents? Fear not!
Since Plasmalite normally needs the PlasmaCore to be running, special consideration and development has gone into providing a simple fail-safe should you need to reboot your device while away from ADB. Should the PlasmaCore not be running, Plasmalite will seamlessly switch over to a rudimentary set of 3 actions along the bottom – Recents | Home | Back (or whatever you have the three main zones set to on the [SwipeUp] tab). By default Plasmalite starts on boot, so this will ensure that don’t end up without a way to navigate. During this time a notification will be displayed reminding you to start the core via a computer to enable normal functionality. To be clear, almost no other functions will work until the core is started.
Upcoming features (in no particular order)
Make daily update check optional
Make a better action chooser (it’s just a list now, the ability to assign a custom app is coming)
Oreo support
Where can I get help? Or report a bug?
You can reply to this thread, use the official Google group, or paid users may send an email. If you would like to report a bug, or request a feature, click here and create an issue in the system.
What if I am rooted?
You can still use Plasmalite, however for some there still may be no way for you to start it without a computer. Results have been varied - so far an Exynos S8+ user rooted via Magisk has had success with the button the [Extras] tab.
Can I disable all Bixby-related packages and still use Bixit?
Yes. Bixit does not need any Bixby packages or services to be running in order function.
Tell me more about Accessibility Services
It is common knowledge that granting accessibility privileges to some apps will introduce lag throughout an Android system. However, not many people realize that apps can request varying levels of feedback. For example, an app can request to be notified when window content changes, or when lists are scrolled, or when things are tapped. Depending upon what is requested, a LOT of data can be generated, and that is what causes the lag.
Plasmalite requests nothing. This is because Plasmalite needs nothing. In this case, declaring the accessibility service is just a formality for being able to “press” recents, back, appswitch, and screen split. This can be confirmed when you grant accessibility privileges and Android shows you what Plasmalite has requested. As a result of not asking for anything other than the bare minimum, there is no lag or stutter. It is recommended to enable and use accessibility services (Command Mode: 3) to enjoy near-instantaneous “presses.” Otherwise, “Direct” mode takes about 1 second.
Hopefully future versions of Android will provide a way for apps to request only the ability to press virtual buttons, and then Google won’t have to accuse developers of abusing the entire Accessibility Services system.
What is the future of Plasmalite?
I have devoted many months of time into the development, testing, and dog-fooding of Plasmalite. Spending over 1,000 hours and countless all-nighters thinking of new features, teaching myself Java, implementing them, using them for long periods of time, then tracking down and fixing the inevitable bugs. It is my first app, and has been my passion-project for quite some time. I have every intention of maintaining Plasmalite. I do not anticipate losing any functionality, but however unlikely it may be, it is a possibility if Samsung changes certain things.
One of my primary goals is to earn enough money to finance the purchase of more devices for development, such as an S9+, and eventually other devices such as a Pixel 2, etc.
Should Plasmalite evolve beyond the S8 line, current plans are to license per device model/series. Eg. S8 series (S8, S8+, Note8), S9 series (S9, S9+, Note9), Pixel 2 series (Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL), etc. Given the broad spectrum of capabilities Plasmalite offers, the technical overhead to adapt between devices is quite substantial. It is not as simple as just tweaking an APK to add support for more devices. For example, various gesture apps go months, or even years, without updates. By comparison, Plasmalite requires work nearly every week. I have been internally developing Plasmalite for months now, with work being done almost every single day. But I find development to be satisfying, so thinking of and implementing new features is something I gravitate towards when I have any free time.
Given how late into the S8 series’ lifetime it now is, anyone who purchases a license for the S8 series will be entitled to a free license of their choosing in the future. To clarify: if you support me today and in a few months you upgrade to an S9 (or Pixel) device, as soon as there is an S9 (or Pixel) version of Plasmalite you will be entitled to it for free.

I think so. I am not familiar with those gestures, but from what I read it should be possible.

I'm not sure what you're asking. As for your license, PM me your "Support code" from the About tab.

Seems promising!
Do you propose a swipe up from the middle then back down like for example for the notification tray to appear?

Hey, I'm on he note 8, is there anyway to have the plasma core, to stay installed after reboots?
Thank you ?

oh my god awesome program thanks big man

That should be possible using SwipeUp & Hold's "Bump Swipe" feature.

Unfortunately the core stays running in the background, so it must be started each time, unless you are rooted.

Great to see this released

You didn't post a link in your beta thread linking to this one. Many people should be interested.

I'm rooted and I've donated for the full version as well, I'm rooted with magisk, but it seems that the "Force start plasma core (root)" doesn't work for me. I check the status afterwards and nothing has changed...
And do would it be better to instead have the installation in a magisk module? Just a thought ?

Question if i buy the full version. When this app gets released on play store do i need to purchase it again? Also is this app for the s8 or note 8 only? Can i use it for other phone that uses a navbar?

Where can i download this app

This is explained in the first post. You can use it on as many S8/S8+/Note8 devices as you want. If I put it in the Play store, you will be entitled to a free version of it.

Thank you very much for your support! Last I heard someone with Magisk was able to successfully start the core. I'll ask them if there was anything special they did. I am unrooted, so I can't test myself.

Wait just to make it clear... I can use the "Start plasma core (root)" as a substitute for adb yeh?
And also I don't know if this should work or not buuut...
If I use terminal emulator to run the 'p' file (with root perms) it also doesn't do anything....
I don't know if that should be possible or not, but it isn't ?
Thank you, you've changed the way I use my device and I love it ??

You should be able to use it instead of adb, yes. And it should also be possible via p. I'll PM you something to test. And thank you so much for the compliment! I'm so glad what I've been working so hard on has proved useful for others!

[Q] Is there a good thumbwheel UI I can use with one hand?

I've been using my HOX+ for almost six months now, fairly light use but I'm mostly happy with it. I'm still running unrooted stock, just installed the official 4.2.2 update. This is my first real smartphone, I had an unsubsidized $100 3.14" Android smartphone last year that I don't think really qualifies.
The big complaint I have with the jump to a 4.7" screen is that one-handed use is uncomfortable and requires me to stretch to reach the corners, where the buttons are often stupidly located, or sometimes even to slide the phone up and down in my hand to make the buttons accessible, not exactly easy to do with one hand without dropping the phone. I would really like a phone that is comfortable to use one-handed, but I don't want to compromise by buying a smaller screen phone, say 4.3" or god forbid the 4" size of the iPhone, as I'm not exactly thrilled with the "looking through a keyhole" quality of 4.7" either.
I think the right solution would be a thumbwheel UI in the bottom right corner, placed in the arc right where my thumb is, so I can use it one-handed with my thumb and not have to reach with my fingers. As long as it let me virtually hit all the buttons on the screen, even native app buttons like the menu button at the top or the tab switcher button at the top in Chrome, I could even buy a phablet if there was something like this, maybe a 5.5+ inch screen that I could use comfortably one-handed with just my thumb in the bottom-right corner.
The closest thing I've been able to find like this is the Splay launcher, but I don't think such launchers actually let me control menus within apps, only launch apps. This guy wrote a small app earlier this year to do something similar, seems to be a great article talking about the idea but I don't think that effort went anywhere.
Is there any effort within the xda community to integrate a one-handed control interface like this? This is a feature that would actually make me root and install a ROM, as I haven't had the need to go to the trouble yet. I'd love to see an effort like this on Android, wonder what everyone else thinks.

A "Whole" UI made especially for one hand usage? Well I know the second best solution.
Install "Pie Controls" and assign it to any corner/side of the screen, it will allow you to launch apps but for the function that you want, you will need to root. Once you are rooted PIE has extra features like "Back, Home, Sleep, Menu, Recent Apps" ..etc.
A Second best is "LMT" launcher ALSO requires root. Once you have it, you will be able to have PIE Controls as well, PLUS a unique feature to have gestures working in all screens. You can swipe down to bring up the notification bar or swipe up for recent apps. The reason i put it as second best was because I don't really like it ..
Ofcourse there are normal launchers , like nova launcher ..etc. that allows you to swipe down to bring up the notifications but sadly that only works on the home screen.
There are also ROMS like AOKP (For us Carbon rom or something similar) which has a stock feeling but extra buttons in the Power menu. When you hold down the power menu , under the normal "Power off, restart, screenshot, airplane" you will also find "Back, Home, Recent apps"
I honestly think that PIE Controls is the best app to have out of them all since it works on all ROMs . Though for full features you should buy the Pro version.
P.S: All apps that you are looking for will require ROOT access.

Thanks for all the info. I tried the Pie Control app by coolace based on your recommendation, but it didn't seem to do anything on my unrooted HOX+. I'll look into the other stuff you talked about.

How didn't it function?
Well here is a good video that will help you install it : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBud1hk27Rw
Although to have full features you will require to BUY the pro version and root, the free version on an unrooted version should have some functions that will work like launching apps and other stuff. Try to clarify what you meant

I installed the app and set it to work on the left, right, and bottom, then configured two short-click apps in level 1. I would then long-press at those edges and nothing happened with pie control: HTC Sense would send me to widget configuration instead.
I just watched your video and he does a slight swipe from the edge, instead of the long-press I was trying. I just installed the app again and tried that on the home screen and within a couple other apps, again no pie controls. If I do it on the home screen, it starts to scroll to the next home screen, as it always did.
There may be something about HTC Sense that it's not giving control to the pie app for gestures, or maybe there's some other switch I have to hit somewhere to actually enable the pie gestures?

Oh yeah I forgot to tell you. Although HOX+ and S3 have the same screen size, for the PIE to activate you just need to increase the activation area width. Just thought of installing Pie again after a while of not using it and just remembered. Now it's working fine
I remember there was a small bug of the activation area width being reset everytime you open the app if I can remember correctly. That or everytime you press on the activation width area. Can't really remember but my point is, while using the app if it suddenly doesnt appear anymore just increase the width again and it will work.
Sorry it took me a while to reply since I couldn't really remember

[MOD][XPOSED] Niwatori - One Handed Mode

**** THIS PROJECT IS NO LONGER MAINTAINED ****
Niwatori changes the display position of apps. The target device is a smartphone that has about 5-inch display because the purpose is one-handed operation.
Thanks to rovo89, I can use this on Lollipop!
Niwatori provides three one-handed modes:
- Movable Screen
- Slide Down
- Small Screen.
They work temporary, NOT permanent.
**
Niwatori was my local version of Flying Android. I released Niwatori since Xposed framework supports Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Differences:
- Abolished FA Toggle, pin, flying dialog and notification shortcut features.
- Control the window only from shortcuts.
- Move the status bar and the dialogs in the same way as the apps.
**
Compatibility
NIWATORI CONFLICTS WITH OTHER MULTIWINDOW AND ONE-HANDED SYSTEM.
I test on Nexus 4 with Stock ROM. Niwatori should work on Nexus devices running Stock. And I support CyanogenMod if Niwatori works with small special code for CM.
Usage
Create shortcut for one-handed mode by Niwatori on sub-launcher , such as Pie control.
[MY USAGE 1] Navigation Bar and Gravity Box
Use shortcuts:
Movable Screen
Pin
[MY USAGE 2] LMT Launcher's Pie
Use shortcuts:
Small Screen
Swap Left/Right
Expand notifications with extra action (Small Screen)
Testing (v0.4.5)

Turn on "Log Actions" in niwatori's settings and call a shortcut for one-handed mode. Then Xposed framework logs as follow.
Code:
04-21 08:25:47.553 24125-24125/? I/Xposed﹕ jp.tkgktyk.xposed.niwatori.intent.action.SMALL_SCREEN
04-21 08:25:47.556 24125-24125/? I/Xposed﹕ NFW(ModActivity$20#onReceive): jp.tkgktyk.xposed.niwatori consumed: jp.tkgktyk.xposed.niwatori.intent.action.SMALL_SCREEN
The first line is shortcut (action) name, above case is Small Screen, and the second line logged who consumed the action by package name, above is niwatori settings. If the consumer isn't expected package, add the package into blacklist in niwatori settings.

Niwatori was my local version of Flying Android. I released Niwatori since Xposed framework supports Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Differences:
- Abolished FA Toggle, pin, flying dialog and notification shortcut features.
- Control the window only by shortcuts.
- Fly the status bar in the same way as the apps.

Good Job!
It seems to be the first module which has updated to adapt for new Xposed on Lollipop!
But i'm new to FlyingAndroid/Niwatori. My Device has no virtual navigation buttons and can't call the app as you shown on Youtube. is it now possible to call the app and scale the screen out by setting some kind of triggers???
Thanks in advance!

I got it, finnaly. You can add a gesture to every setting. But I see no use to it fi I can't put 2 window in the same screen.
@GalaxyS4_Lollipop;
 @Demonbane_x;
Trigger for Niwatori is shortcut. The "shortcut" is the same as ordinary shortcuts of any apps. So you can fire "shortcut" from home app, launcher app, GravityBox's action (works on lollipop?) , etc.
This mod moves the display position of foreground app, but not show multiple apps. In the screenshots, I only show one app (Niwatori UI) and expanded statusbar.
This module not working on MIUI 6.

I like the idea of making floating apps, but if you can't put two apps in one window , I don't know for what to use it.
You are a good developer , I hope you will make an app like XHaloFloatingWindow for lollipop in future.
doesn't fly the window
I associate the "toggle" NFW action with a gesture via GMD Gesture Control. When I execute the gesture, it doesn't fly the window. Instead, it opens the Niwatori settings app.
I should add that most of the time it does nothing at all. I know I'm executing the gesture correctly because I get the correct haptic feedback. I'm using the paid app.
Seems promising, gonna try it out
Amazing app!
One problem I saw that came up was that I was no longer able to perform the second pull-down of the notification bar from the middle of the screen; instead, I now have to reach my thumb upwards far more.
I think the module changes the trigger area. Can you check this out? It would make life easier!
And by second pull-down, I mean the method to get from notifications to toggles (bt, wifi, etc.)

XHaloFloatingWindow is one of the best modules. I cannot make such app.
But I cannot use halo window efficiently because my phone doesn't have enough display size for multi window. On the other hand, I don't reach thumb at the top of the screen. I need to pull down the screen.

Please check these points:
If you fire the "toggle" action from the other launcher (e.g. home app), does the "toggle" work fine?
Close Niwatori settings app before you use its actions.
If you need a refund, please tell me your order number by email or private message on XDA.
EDITED: I tried GMD Gesture Control, however it says "no supported device". (because of lollipop?)

Right, GMD currently doesn't work on Lollipop.
I tried closing Niwatori settings before using its actions, but it still doesn't work.
I put the NFW actions widget on my home screen (selecting "toggle"), but when I press the widget, nothing happens.
Thanks, but I won't bother with the refund: I'm glad to throw you the support, and I'll keep re-testing the app every time you update. I hope you can try some things to make it work on my S4.

@Jimmy34742;
Thank you for your cooperation.
I found a fatal error in the settings. Depending on the combination of settings, it is not possible to change the window mode and move the app.
Please disable "Reset automatically" option basically. It is useful only when to fire actions from recents button.

I have "reset automatically" switched off, but it still doesn't work. If I don't back out of Niwatori's before going to another app, then the shortcut will re-enter Niwator at the same point. But if I exit Niwatori by backing out of it, then my shortcut just does nothing.

You're mistaken on both points! It does work quite well, and it has been updated for lollipop. I've been using it since lollipop Xposed was released (even before it was 'officially' supported, it worked on version 2.38... It's now been updated to version 2.41)
I would ask to add double-click on a recent. In CM12 like as long press is already taken - switch between the last two applications.
The ability to run the application down to the user is in the Donut version?

[MOD][XPOSED]X Screen Stabilizer[23/10/2017][V1.5]

X Screen Stabilizer
ROOT REQUIRED
XPOSED FRAMEWORK REQUIRED
If You don't know What is XPOSED Framework then do not try this application (it wont work)
Have you tried to read a book or an article like this while on a bus or walking down the street? I bet you tried! In this case you should notice that reading text in a such way is not a good idea since the screen constantly shakes. It seems that screen shaking is a big enough issue and eliminating it can promise a good UX. This application uses the device accelerometer sensors to compensate for and smooth out screen content shaking in the same way as DSLR camera stabilizes its sensors/lenses
It uses the concept defined in the below link
no-shake-screen-stabilization-android
but uses a different approach using Xposed Framework
Free : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vivek.xscreenstabilizer
Pro : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vivek.xscreenstabilizer.pro
Xposed repository : http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.vivek.xscreenstabilizer
Parameter Details
Velocity Friction : It is used to adjust the friction of the movement of the screen when walking. If the value is greater, the screen translation will be slower.
Position Friction : It is used to adjust the speed at which the screen tries to adjust to the normal position. If the value is greater, it takes more time to adjust to normal position
Low pass filter alpha : It is used to filter the acceleration force values from the sensor for the smooth positioning of the screen
Velocity Amplification : It is used to amplify the calculated velocity and use it to translate the screen
please try it out and provide your valuable comments
Oww Great ! Thank You Bro
after setting the velocity friction to 0 something it doesn't allow you to slide the switch, also how much would this increase battery drain?

Hi, nice idea for a module!
What differentiates the pro version? Ad removal / extra features, or just dev support?
Can you offer any extra information on exactly what each of the tweakable parameters do?

Thanks.
Now the pro version is just Ad Free.
The extra parameters are used to adjust the movement according to your walking speed.
I don' t know if I did something wrong, but it didn't worked for me. The device has AOSP 5.1 and I'm also using GravityBox and Android N'ify.
Very fun idea. You may want to hardcode some safe minimum and maximums on each setting and give it some sort of tendency to return to normal once movement subsides.
I lowered the velocity friction to zero and moved my phone around. The screen went off screen enough, I guess, that it couldn't return to center and the button to disable the module was not responding.
Also, maybe add a whitelist so you can pick to only have it activate while certain apps are in the foreground (browser, e-book readers). While it's neat for testing, having it constantly adjusting your screen when using your phone can be awkward.
Bravo for doing something new and creative!

Nice one! Congrats and thanks!
Simple and immediate feature request that I believe will improve your app:
1. Widget to toggle on/off
2. Activity to toggle on/off (to trigger from other automation, gesture, button... apps)
3. Persistent notification to toggle on/off
4. Notification only when on, to turn off
5. Reset default setting values
And also these:
6. Blacklist apps (for instance to exclude launcher,...)
7. Floating panel with main adjustments slides (thick! cause will be moving) for real time fine tune. Can use to show/hide it a button on the ongoing notification. Or to hide a 2 fingers tap on panel.
One bug I experimented already:
It was on. Using Nova Launcher here. I went to app drawer and them home.... Them turned off stability. Nova Launcher screens got frozen partially out of screen. Only solution was to force reload all launcher.
Thanks!
Very great idea man. Thx. Hoping for the stablest final version
Great concept and great app!
It slowed down my system quite a bit though, so I had to uninstall it. A lot of apps (the foreground app I was using) would freeze and the Android System prompt would appear saying " xxx app is not responding, would you like to: wait, force close and reopen, or send bug report". Anybody else seeing this performance problem?
Really nice. Now if the entire ui could shift, instead of only the foreground activity, that would even be better.
For example, the keyboard is not moving, neither is a second app when open in split screen.

I thought about that.....if I'm de developer I'd patent the implementation worldwide. It is a simple concept, somehow already available out there for other uses, but as far as I know not for portable devices screens. And....AR, VR, glass,....
This is the typical thing Apple, Samsung, Google, LG would build a proof of concept (this app is one) and patent it. And sell rights for millions.
By the way, another fantastic module that has this potential is AllTrans. Real time translation of any app from any language to any other language....probably Google would love to have that under Google Tanslator label (and spy a bit more on you).

The keyboard movement will make it difficult to type if moving. As our fingers and actual device is at the same position, only screen movement is required I guess. Anyway I will try to provide and option to enable keyboard movement also if possible

gaming, screen brightness, etc

Like the title states. I'm just wondering how well the v 60 does with gaming etc. Specifically cod mobile and pubg. Looking to upgrade my 7t pro McLaren and wondering if it's worth it to go to this phone. Is the screen easily viewed I'm bright sunlight? I read somewhere the screen is only a little more then 500 nits which compared to my McLaren isn't very good. How does the resolution look? Is it noticable that it's only 1080p? Is the 60hz refresh rate noticably slower or more laggy then 90 hz?

The screen will be plenty bright enough compared to the McLaren, but other than being able to use the dual screen as a gamepad, I don't think you'd be gaining anything performance wise with this upgrade other than audio and battery life.

I only used the McLaren for a couple of days, so I may not be the best judge. But I prefer the V60 because of the gamepad on the dual screen, and the flat screen. I didn't really use it long enough to judge whether you will notice the difference in refresh rate. I'm a OnePlus fan coming from a 6t, but the battery life, and dramatic curved screen bothered me. The battery life in the V60 when not using the dual screen is shockingly good. The other day, without gaming, I pulled 30hrs and 9.5 hrs of SOT. But the performance increase from an SD855+ to the 865 is going to be unnoticeable.

I don't really notice the difference between 1080 and the QHD in my wife's Note10. I also had the V20 and the software is miles better than it was back then, but it's still not anywhere as clean and nice as OnePlus. Overall I'm very happy with the device as it's a big improvement over my 2yr old 6t in every way. Screen, camera, performance, battery, multitasking and audio are all better, but depending on the deal you get, and how much you value the dual screen, and superior audio, it may not be much of an upgrade over a much newer McLaren 7t pro.

Would you mind sharing some screenshots of the settings app, phone app, quick pulldown and message apps?
I've never used a OnePlus device, so I can't speak to a direct comparison between the MacLaren 7T Pro and the LG 60.
But I am coming from an open-market LG V30+ (which I rooted but kept on highly customized stock firmware). Even without root, I was able to adapt most of those customizations to the V60 without serious issue.
Heavily tweaked third-party launcher, icon pack, third-party gestures, beautiful live wallpaper, dark/black mode everywhere. You get the idea.
The LG V30+ had a smaller and higher resolution screen compared to the V60; so the combination of a significantly larger screen running at a lower resolution results in a fairly obvious DPI difference.
That said, we're not talking about a 65-inch TV here. These are largely devices with 4- to 7-inch screens, and the resolution change actually doesn't bother me (though it is noticeable). For these sizes, I find that 1080P suffices. YMMV.
And I have to say, the side benefits of having a 1080P screen running at a standard 60 Hz may well be worth the trade-off.
I've had this phone for a little over a month now, and I noticed last night when I went to plug the phone in before turning in to bed myself, that after around 15 hours of being unplugged, I still had 96% of my battery life.
Granted, I didn't use the phone heavily yesterday (I tend to disconnect a bit on weekends). But my aging V30+ never pushed numbers like. Not during its prime, and certainly not after 2.5+ years of daily use.

Not at all, mostly. I've got a batch of screens for you to examine, but I left out the one with my messaging app because it's full of personally identifiable information.
It also appears that XDA is somewhat compressing the PNGs that the phone produces. I guess to avoid hitting filesize limitations.
I'll include Google Play Store links to everything I'm using below.
Note: I did not produce nor am I affiliated with any of the apps I link to below. I use (and if applicable, bought) them because I like them. That's all. I'm not shilling.
I've named the screenshots in a way that I think makes sense, but I'll go into more detail below.
Screenshot: LG V60 5G - Home Screen
Lots of things going on here (and I'll try to break it all down), but I've got a lot of software and tweaks powering a VERY minimalist desktop/home screen.
I'm using Nova Launcher Prime:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
To replace LG Home, together with Whicons Icon Pack:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whicons.iconpack
And Fluid Navigation Gestures:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid
To replace Stock Android 10's gestures. My live wallpaper is Fluid Simulation - Trippy Stress Reliever:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=games.paveldogreat.fluidsim
I like this one because by default it's pure black (great for OLED displays and contrasts perfectly with Whicons) but can be configured to display beautifully and brightly colored "fluids" as you tap and drag your finger(s) across the screen. When unlocking and/or returning to the home screen from an app, it'll also pop four or five random "fake taps" on the screen which quickly disperse. This first screenshot has captured the tail end of that dispersion (It's actually a lot prettier in motion than in this screen cap). I have it configured as my live wallpaper for Nova's home screen as well as my lock screen (which uses LG's stock Always On Display and Sidelight feature for notifications). Fluid Simulation has a ton of configuration options, including an option to constantly autoplay. But I would imagine that's a pretty big battery drain. Fluid Simulation's Google Play Store page probably has a video to check out, if you're interested. There's a free version too, but I'm not sure if that one can be configured as a live wallpaper.
And here's the best video I could find of this phone's Sidelight brief notifications feature in action, timestamped to show off the effect. You may watch the whole video to see how to configure it, if you wish.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFNH6_mbCPk&feature=youtu.be&t=173
Back to the Home Screen for a second. You've got a standard dock with 4 icons on the bottom, and a fifth button to pull up all apps. (Swiping up from anywhere will also pull up all apps. I can also swipe down from anywhere to pull down the Notifications Shade. Great for one-handed use on a device with such a large screen!) Above that, in a vaguely pyramid shape, there are four folders called Google, Social, Fun, and Apps that contain my most commonly used apps within those four general categories. The folder icon is showing the first app in each category. If you tap on the folder, it'll launch that first app. If you swipe up from the icon, it'll open the folder and show you the rest of the folder's contents. This is Nova's version of Action Launcher's "Covers" feature, which I used to love before making the jump from Action to Nova.
Above that is my time/date/weather widget, provided by Chronus Information Widget:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dvtonder.chronus
And above that is the Google Search/Assistant bar as provided by Nova Launcher.
Edit - And above THAT, right at the bottom of the status bar, I have Energy Bar - A Pulsating Battery Indicator set up to, well, display my battery level as a percentage-based bar. Sadly, it's a hold-over from my LG V30 days, and this version of the app doesn't support the V60's front-camera notch. Not much we can do about that, but I still like the thing too much to eliminate it. It supports up to four colors/gradients at every 25% breakpoint IIRC, but I have the whole set up to be a straight white bar. I'm thinking of perhaps making the 75%, 50% and 25% breakpoints change to increasingly dimmer shades of gray, but I haven't managed to work up the energy (heh) to do so yet. That's funny. The Home Screen screen cap actually shows the full Energy Bar as if the notch wasn't there. On my actual device, in front of my face, the part of the Energy Bar that overlaps with the camera notch is simply sliced off. There's a gap right in the middle of it, representing perhaps 15% of the battery bar, give or take.

NOTE: Nova Launcher, Fluid Simulation, and Fluid Navigation Gestures will NOT work on the dual-screen accessory. For now, it appears that the second screen is stuck using default LG software designed to match LG Home and other LG default software. If you plan on heavily customizing your home screen AND using the dual-screen accessory, just know that there will be a pretty significant disconnect between your experiences across the two screens commensurate with just how much you decide to customize your phone. Considering I've replaced the default launcher, navigation gestures system, and live wallpaper, the two screens clash horribly for me, and until/unless we can somehow manage to span these phone customizations across to the second screen, I've essentially retired my dual-screen accessory and just use the phone alone in a clear TPU case.

Not much to say here. In Settings, LG comes with two default themes that you can select from, "LG" and "White." I'm using the darker "LG" theme.

Just an extension of the previous screenshot. Pull down the Notification Shade further to see additional Quick Tiles. There are plenty more available that I have hidden away due to lack of use.

I replaced the LG Phone app with Google's Dialer app. I prefer it, even though LG and/or AT&T block me from using Google's stock Visual Voicemail app. I have AT&T's VVM app sideloaded, since it shows up on the Google Play Store as "not compatible" with my device. lol. It was a problem with when the V30+ was new as well, and it took a few months for AT&T to update their app to support the V30. Weird. And I didn't snap a photo of it, but I've also replaced the default SMS app with Google's Messages app.

Just showing the current software version and security patch. The phone shipped with the Feb. 2020 security patch and received the Apr. 2020 security patch around two weeks later. Much faster than I would have expected for an LG phone. If they plan on matching last month's accomplishment, we should be getting the May 2020 security patch later this week. But I'm not holding my breath!
Some final notes. This is more or less a recreation of the final software environment I had on my beloved LG V30+ before I retired it. It was also using a custom dark/Material Design theme I purchased from the Google Play Store created specifically for that phone. I don't yet know if there are any available for the V60, nor do I recall if they require root. (My V30 was rooted, but running the stock LG OS). You need root (not available on this device) or know how to use Fastboot and ADB commands to grant Fluid Navigation Gestures the ability to hide the Navigation Bar. I do not believe that the phone will allow you to both disable Android 10's gestures AND hide the Nav Bar. It's either/or, unless you grant Fluid Navigation Gestures extra permissions via ADB.
For Nova Launcher Prime, I use two special integrations to add additional functionality. I use Sesame Shortcuts to create new shortcuts on the menu that shows up when you long-press on an app. This is available on the Google Play Store (link below). I also use Nova's Google Companion App to let the launcher display the Google Now/Discover/News Feed (whatever they call the thing now) when swiping right from the home screen. I believe this is a Pixel-like feature, and it requires downloading the integration straight from Nova's webpage, since they aren't allowed to offer it up on the Google Play Store.

Thank you. And you're welcome. I'm pretty fond of the look, and it does wonders for battery life. I wish I had an easy way of making a quick 30 (or so) second video of my software environment in action.

Great write up! One question, doesn't Nova break multiwindow and pop out window functionality? When I used Nova, if I use the multiwindow feature, then exit out of it, it completely breaks the recent apps functionality

Thanks! And nope! I tested this out a few weeks ago in another thread and had no issues with it.
But I'll test it again. Give me a minute...
...

...
Still with me?
I just set up Chrome as a Pop-Up window, and Youtube as a Multi-Window, then made Chrome as a second Multi-Window.
Then I used Fluid Navigation Gestures to pull up Recents (swipe up from the bottom/middle of the screen and hold it for a second, before releasing), and had no issues closing everything out.
Now, when I repeat the gesture to pull up Recents again, it just says "No recent items" as it should.
Edit - I should probably clarify that I use FNG as my main replacement for Android 10's stock gestures. I've been using FNG since my Android 8-equipped V30+, fell in love with it, prefer it to Google's gestures, and made sure I could continue to use it on this phone. I only use two of Nova's gestures. Swipe down from anywhere to pull down the Notification Shade (great for one-handed use where I can't reach the status bar with one hand) and swipe up from anywhere to pull up the All Apps screen. But for everything else, I use FNG.

I figured out that it only does it if you use the stock gestures. Once I installed fluid gestures and ran the adb command the problem went away. Now I can use Nova again. Thank you

Fantastic. I love Nova. And my desire to play with navigation gestures on my V30 (when I knew we'd never get them officially) led me to research some third-party options.
FNG impressed me the most, and I've been using it, I don't know, probably close to two years now? To be honest, I never even gave the stock Android 10 gestures a try.
I immediately disabled them, installed FNG, did the ADB thing to hide the Nav Bar, and never looked back.
The little I've read of the stock gesture system that was introduced with Android 10... well, let's just say I wasn't exactly climbing out of my chair in anticipation of trying them out.
Not after having grown used to FNG over the years. I just love the LOOK of FNG, too. I've got the visual effect maxed out in Settings.
Is there much bloatware on the TMobile variant? Of so can you disable it?

There were quite a few preinstalled games and crap. Almost all of which can be uninstalled or disabled

Question Navigation bar

Is there anyway to move the navigation buttons to the right?
My thumb just can't reach the back button
Thanks
it grinds my gears too!, here we are at the most advanced android 13, many years of it on smartphones and yet still so many things baked into oems, like navigation customisation
to me pixel phones must solve these issues since its stock, and not just root everything all the time, to me its meant to solve the android problem of baked in oem features, like one ui or else samsung just wins androids, and pixels are done, i wont keep it that long lol

They did. It's called "gesture navigation".
Get rid of nav bar, use XPosed Edge Pro, you can setup custom stuff

Xposed is the Android equivalent of cancer. The Fullscreen Immersive Gestures module for Magisk and a launcher that has custom gestures, e.g. Nova Launcher, is more than sufficient.
"Xposed is the Android equivalent of cancer"
Lol okay
Well I've tried Fullscreen Immersive Gestures on Magisk, it didn't work, so I have my solution which does work. I have zero space taken up at the top of the screen, and zero space taken up at the bottom of the screen.
I have an invisible app-switch, home, and back button at the bottom of the screen, and the ability to add dozens more should I care to.

Use Xposed Edge Pro, it allows you to designate your own invisible buttons. My setup is:
Lower left, swipe up to go into multi, long-press to bring up in-app menu
Lower center, swipe up to open Bottom Quick Settings, long press to go home
Lower right, swipe up to go back
But you don't have to use swipe up, you can tap, double-tap, long press, swipe up, swipe down, swipe left, or swipe right. You also have different areas, 3x per side (left/center/right, top/middle/bottom) for each of those, and each can be assigned to do a number of incredibly useful things.
If you have trouble reaching with your thumb, you can assign lots to the lower-right (near your thumb), long press to do one thing, swipe up to do another, swipe to the left to do something, etc.
Don't let anybody tell you it's bad, test it for yourself and make your own decision.
If you do use that setup, you can disable the nav bar entirely by:
Installing "MagiskHide Props Config", and a terminal emulator
Restart
Run the term emulator, give it superuser by typing su and granting, then run command props
Go to code 5 (add your own prop), type n for a new prop, call the new prop qemu.hw.mainkeys, give it a value of 1, press y to continue with defaults, press y to reboot again.
NavBar is now gone (like in my image).
If you want to bring the NavBar back, just run props again on the terminal, and delete the prop you made above.

If it didn't work you're doing it wrong. But then again I really only use it to ditch the hint at the bottom of the screen, so my use case may not be typical.
There is a reason why custom ROM developers don't accept bug reports with that crap you use in play, and that's because 9 out of 10 times the issue is Xposed itself. So Xposed and its derivatives needed to be put out to pasture years ago and just die already. Anything they can do can a root app can do just as effectively, and without the system instability penalty of the cancer that is Xposed.
At this point we are getting a little off topic, as the OP I do think was trying to avoid rooting to solve his problem. Of course, root may be the only solution to the problem.
I have my Back-Button on the bottom right, just old-school without rooting.
Sry for my english, Germany here.

Are you running android 13 or 12
I'm running 13 and I don't think it's compatible with 13 as it won't install the Xposed framework

Which is why Fullscreen Immersive Gestures - a Magisk module - is a better option than any Xposed crap. It at least works, if you set it up correctly.

I used "Navigation Bar for Android" from Wormhole Space, it works for me without rooting. IMO i like it because i use the back button more than the other ones, try it.
