I got a weird problem in my device 3/32GB.
No matter whatever nougat ROM I install, I am not able to send or receive SMS.
MIUI and Oreo ROMS are working fine
Tried flashing different firmwares with no luck
Any help from anyone would be appreciated
Add your number in SMS settings
On SMS settings, there is a option that must say "phone number". For me, it work put my number with the country code (like in whatsapp +1). Install Google messages too.

I've got a small feeling that this has something to do with your carrier. That's just pure speculation, however.

Don't know, but I am on AOSP Exended 5.2 and SMS is working great in all other oreo ROMS too even in MIUI9

I just installed KF1 and it seems the T9 smart dial / predictive dial function is gone??? Can someone else confirm?

Yes, it appears to be the case, I'm off back to KE7.
Might want to consider giving dialer one a try. More feature rich (searches contacts and call logs etc.) and you can back up your speed dial and other setup information before flashing.

That is strange. Are you sure it's working properly? It is recognising text patterns and not just numbers?

Numbers from any part of the phonenumbers. Text patterns, but only from start of names as listed, so punching 52 or 526 in dialer will display james from my phonebook. Typing lastnames will not find them.
it is present on KF1 and works normally for me too.
But I prefer the original gingerbread keyboard which is better.

I just reflashed and still not working. Where did you download your KF1 firmware from?
I flashed GT-I9100_TGY_I9100ZSKF1_I9100OZSKE7_I9100XXKE4.tar. Are you using something different?
I just did a factory reset and now it's working better than it ever did. It is now recognising last names too!
The problem I have with the T9 smart dial is the it recognises the NAME and not LAST NAME field.
For example, if I have a contact: John Smith
If I press: 564 (JOH) the contact John Smith appears
If I press: 764 (SMI) the contact John Smith does not appear!!!!
Any solution for that? (Apart of changing stock dialer)

Yes, you can update your firmware to KF1 and then do a factory reset. Worked for me.

Really??? Ahhh so it was a known bug from samsung (or google). Actually I have the same problem with an Samsung GT-i5500 which I use as second phone.
Thinking of upgrading then, although I was preferring to wait the 2.3.4 and not upgrade two times in few days.
BTW is there a release date for 2.3.4.??

I also installed liteghning 1.4 rom
Stock dialer still does not T9 with last names.....

With Light rom 1.5 still not working????
Majority incoming calls go to voicemail. web, mms, txt and outgoing calls work fine. I was on 2.3.x and now 4.0.3 ( custom rom based on leaked). I had issue on 2.3.x and still same problem on 4.0.3
Any advice?

That's what I was wondering. Because it sounds like an incompatible modded dialer. I always had this problem if i used one of gadget's dialers on BAMF when he hadn't updated them to the latest release.

Do you use Google Voice? If so, you might have "Do Not Disturb" enabled.

Incomplete information provided!! how can we know what firmware or rom you are using? Is your phone rooted or unrooted or have you made any recent changes?? make everything clear when you ask any question!!

For whatsapp. I believe u wun receive a sms for verification. Cos when i verified. It confirmed the number even though i didn't receive any sms. For google. Depends on wat. I dun use line or barclays

i got a new Sim card(Three) and thats when i started to get all the problems..my last simcard O2 worked fine

First of all, just so you know this a religious app, and I won't be discussing any religion on this thread so please don't
The app is supposed to download images and show them. but the problem is, when running MM I was able to use it perfectly but when upgrading to N after the splash screen the app shows a white screen.
Tried to downgrade to MM and use the app for a couple of house then upgraded to N and the same problem happens.
If anyone could help with this.
This sounds more like a problem with the app not working on N, so your best bet is to try and get in contact with the developers of the app and have them fix it.

that's what I thought, but when I had the P9 lite running nougat, it was working perfectly, I also asked a friend to test it on 7.1.1 and it did work
So I think the problem is with Vulkan API;
I can't see why you went through the trouble of downgrading for that app while there are plenty of way better alternatives.

Well not that much, on MM it was running perfectly, but because of the Vulkan API in N it didn't work
I know the Mi pad 5 pro doesn't have phone support which is probably restricted by software. I'm wondering if anyone has tried installing Dialer by google on the device, either by apk or from the playstore. If anyone has any experience making calling work plz share.

Yeah sms works. When someone calls the sim card number I get an sms from my carrier that someone tried to call me and I can call the number back. Much like a pager lol.
I use Line or Telegram to make calls over data.
