Hey I recently installed RemixOS on my VMware but I struggle to change the resolution to FHD. I tried adding video=LVDS-1:d to the boot command and it wasn't working neither vga=886 or any other number as it would be too small or without a change. So I'm asking how should I do it the proper way ?

Hi all, first of all thank you for your replys.
I've got a problem with genymotion and virtualbox. When i try to change some parameters in VB such as 3d acceleration in an image downloaded from Genymotion the image never run again and show me this error.
"Unable to start the Genymotion virtual device.
VirtualBox can't run the virtual device.
Try to run the virtual device directly from VirtualBox to check for issues.
Check the log files for more information. For this, refer to: https://cloud.genymotion.com/page/faq/#collapse-logs"
I try it in VB and the image can be executed but i don't want to this... big screen resolution and not drag and drop feature. Anybody knows the solution?
thanks, regards :good:
Hi,
I used the VMDK file of Remix OS for PC to run the OS on a Virtual machine instance.
It looks as if they managed to fix the Opel GL 2.0 issue all Android-x86 suffers from.
I would like to know how to rotate the screen to portrait (phone) mode and / or change the resolution of the OS.
I have tried UVESA_MODE= XXX x YYY and DPI=xxx, DPI is applying but resolution doesn't. I tried a few apps that handles orientation and resolution they have no affect !
N.B
Can anyone port from the remix OS to android-x86 mainstream project the necessary elements to make OpenGL 2.0 work ?
Thanks.
Hello!
I have a tablet with UEFI 32bits (it's a Emdoor EM-i8080 with Intel® Atom™ Processor Z3735E) and I'm trying to install just RemixOS at the HDD, without Windows side by side.
The thing is, I tried many tutorials that I found here at XDA and nothing seems to work with my tablet. I understand that the process is the same as install the RemixOS in a VM, right?
I managed to format the HDD with GParted, install RemixOS with "INSTALL=1" but, after the install, it just doesn't boot. Then I tried another tutorial using a Linux USB Live, but the linux usb doesn't boot (tried with Ubuntu and Debian).
Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks! =D
Hi, I know this an old thread but if you have not fixed it yet then this might help. I got a similair tablet and got Linuxium 16.04 and 16.10 to boot on it, by using kernel parameter
nomodeset
then at least you can get to the desktop. I have only tried the 64bit and Gnome, Unity, Xubuntu, Kubuntu(don't use this one as it uses too much RAM).

I can't help you with the android as I have not yet got that to boot to desktop.
Hope this helps

I have tried many times with various versions of Remix OS, but I am still not able to get it to install properly on my Windows 10 Intel (Cherry Trail z8700) tablet.
The install process (to the C:} hard drive seems to fun fine (no noticeable problems/errors) during the install process. It also LOOKS like all of the proper files were installed to the hard drive. The problem is that the install process doesn't create a boot entry for RemisOS (in the Windows BCD).
I do have EasyBCD and a couple of other BCD editors. Does anyone know what the BCD entry SHOULD look like for Remix OS? Perhaps I could manually create it?
@mediawiz always add your tablet model please.
Your device has most likely UEFI booting, so using EasyBCD is not going to work for you.
You need EasyUEFI. Install it and show me what boot entries it outputs.
You can also PM me and we can set up Teamviewer to solve this quick

Hi all!
I'm new to Android x86 OSs, like Prime OS that I installed as unique OS on an old netbook. But now, how can I change GRUB_TIMEOUT to fast boot the PC without waiting? I think that menu.lst and grub.cfg files are hidden... there is a way to do it from booting command line?
Thank you very much
