My home button doesn't register all presses so I flashed a new ROM and enabled navigation bar. It takes some of my screen space but that's what I prefer instead of unresponsive home button. Now I want to completely disable to soft key because I already have those function at the navigation bar. Please help me.
If you are using aokp you can enable, disable and even resize the nav bar.

I don't have a problem with the nav bar I prefer the nav bar instead of the soft keys so I need to disable the soft keys.
Does anyone know how to completely disable the navigation bar?
I don't mean hide it so that it pops back up when you swipe up, I mean permanently gone.
Hiding the the navigation bar right now screws up my theme in Buzz Launcher.
Thanks
Nevermind I used Gravity Box to remove the navigation bar.
Hi guys i want to disable the navbar in my moto g4 plus and use gestures to navigate on the phone, the thing is, immersive mode is so intrusive with the gestures and i want to disable permanently the navbar softkeys of the phone, i've tried editing the build.prop with two codes without success, "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" and "ro.show.navigationbar=yes" rebooted after both and nothing happened. So i want to know if there is another method or app to do this?.
Thanks for all.

Edit your navigation_bar and/or navbar layout in SystemUI.apk. 0.0dip layout width and height instead of fill_parent.
Hi everyone!
I have a quick question from my daughter (she's the one using this phone):
What app do you use to hide navigation buttons? She likes capacitive buttons under the screen but this phone doesn't have them
Thanks!

As no hardware Button, we need soft navbar. But you can:
-Hide navbar depending on the app you are on.
It is called expanded desktop.
For example on launcher hide statusbar and navbar
-Use pie control to only show nav Button when needed.
It is called pie settings.
Here exemple crdroid, but dotos shall have it too.
Well, my phone, has already an option to add small 'v' symbol on the left side of navigation panel. Pressing it hides it. To show it again just swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
It is in Options > Smart Assistance > Navigation bar > Navigation bar (switch).
Thanks for such perfect reply!!!

I am using the T-820 Tweaked Rom and was wondering if there is a way to enable the on screen nav bar. I have tried turning on the option in GravityBox, but it does not work.
Not quite what you are after, but I use
