Stock Nandroid Image

If anyone needs a stock nandroid image (with root),
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YWQJRO90
There is no need to flash this unless you messed up or just want to go back to stock (with root).
instructions:
DO NOT install it as update.zip . you are supposed to unzip the file after you download it and place the folder called 2010-09-21.18.31.12 in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup then you boot into cwm and goto backup and restore -> restore -> 2010-09-21.18.31.12
what is this nandroid ? stock image ? i mean im new to android and i keep seeing nandroid but im not sure what it does
+1 thanks easier then using oden

Nandroid makes a complete backup of your phone, all your data, apps, everything. It's like it takes a snapshot of your phone, and when you restore it your phone will be back to the exact state of when you made the backup.
The image i posted will take your phone back to what it was like when you pulled it out of the package, except with root. In order to use nandroid, you have to flash the cwm kernel and install the recovery for your phone through rom manager.

yeah, you will have to put the information for your gmail account back in, restore anything from titanium. It's completely stock, it has no user infomation on it.

Ok, so I am getting my Fascinate tomorrow (can't wait by the way). I have been cruising the forums doing my research before I attempt to root, flash CWM recovery, etc. I am completely unfamiliar with with using Odin, but have used nandroid via Amon's recovery on my Droid Eris (which is running Froyo by the way).
Here's my question: how do I apply this image? Do I have to be rooted first, or can I go ahead and apply this zip and never have to fool with Oden? I just want to be sure I don't make a mistake. Eris development was firmly established by the time I arrived on the scene, so I have not had to worry about these kinds of things. Sorry if this seems like a noob question?

nope, the update is not compatible with root right now. Wait for a dev to release the root friendly vzw update.

Everyone is a noob at first.
You need to root first
follow this:

then install cwmrecovery
follow this:

you won't need this nandroid backup.

I really appreciate the prompt response. I think I am going to wait until a dev develops a root friendly vzw update. Or I may go ahead and root and wait till then ..... decisions, decisions
I saw where you posted that some Sticky topics need to be compiled, wasupwithuman. I could not agree more. A couple more questions for you (maybe these will help someone else too) .... (1) How stable is CWM on the Fascinate? I read somewhere that it is a duct-taped together recovery that will do for now. Is this true??? (2) Should I just wait for a dev to develop a custom recovery (like Amon's on the Eris), or is CWM stable enough as it currently is? There seems to be some confusion about this from topic to topic. (3) This is unrelated, but has anyone confirmed Wireless Tether working on their Fascinate. I believe I read that it was somewhere else, but would like to know for sure. Thanks again!!!
P.S. - First link is down, but I found another guide on XDA and will probably just follow it (considering it uses adb which I am familiar with from my Eris).

undate fail (with red triangle)

i used SparkyRoot to root my prime and uninstall some apps. Now I have to send the tablet back to asus so I did a factory reset and unroot using SparkyRoot. however, the deleted apps are still missing and i still cant update my prime (with red triangle).
I have heard if i download the update file directly from asus will work but i dont know how to use the file. please help!
before you deleted anything
did you do any modification of the root directories? such as adding a boot screen animation? super charge? keyboard re-mapping?
if you did you have to restore those back to default manually or else it won't update your prime~

no i havent. i deleted asus music, library, google+ i think
any idea how to reset to original setting?
i think you're gonna need to find the apk to re-install the missing apps... cause i think the updater are seeing those apps being missing so its giving you an error
same thing happened to me bro. i was at awe as to why it didnt upgrade. what i did was i had to flash the factory image (.15) and then the ota worked. theres threads all over on how to do that. i upgrade to .21 but now my tablet wouldnt unlock. in terms of bootloader. did a factory reset and it worked.

A factory reset doesn't restore deleted apps. You'll need to reinstall the stock apk files that were removed as already mentioned.

[Q] Back to stock

Good night everyone I wanna return to stock my optimus g I used lgnpst but the phone freeze in AT&T logo if somebody help me that will be great
Sorry for my bad english its not my language Im still learning
Instructions say if it freezes at boot, then you have to let it restore to 100%, not just at the 68% when phone reboots.
Or you can just flash a nandroid, unless you want to remove toot and relock it? I have a TWRP nandroid of OTA I might be able to upload, its a big file.

Doing a factory reset when it hangs on boot after lgnpst usually works. It will wipe your though, any apps, photos, music, etc you have stored there. If you want try that power off phone then press volume down and power and hold both. It may take a few tries but a menu will come up for reset.

To expand on what to expect if you use stock/factory recovery. When wiping data/factory reset from stock recovery (vol down + pwr), you will just get a black & white ATT screen with factory reset/wipe data being your only option. Press volume up or down to exit or pwr button to wipe/restore.

Your English is fine. Maybe if you made a new backup with helium you would be able to see where it is stored on your phone. Then copy your old backup to that location.

OTA is failing for me after unrooting. I also restored the latest restore.img from the relevant thread before I attempted to update.
Anyone with root able to get OTA installed?

It's very simple, and the script does most of the work. All you have to do is hit Enter a few times, and let it run.
Back up your data to be safe, and worse case scenario, there is an MSM tool available that will restore the phone to stock.

Use Google Drive backup, but you should first temporarily turn off your password/fingerprint authentication. That's the only way to ensure a complete backup is run. That's been an issue with Google device backup as a whole since 9.0 began enforcing encryption on backups.
You can turn it back on as soon as the backup completes.
One thing I've noticed already on this update is idle battery drain with 5G enabled (connected or not) has improved dramatically.
I would suggest that anyone who re-roots after makes sure to use a freshly patched kernel pulled after the update.

lg logo infinite boot state. Help me

Can you try to factory reset it somehow? A factory reset would restore deleted apps.
If you relock or unlock the bootloader i think that will automatically factory reset.

The Japanese version is managed by softbank docomo, not by LG, so they keep the kdz private.
It will be possible to change the slot without unlocking the bootloader. I wish you success.
