updated again..
also for those interested, G600S/K/L/V kernel source codes are already available on their website.
edit: seems almost all variants have kernel source now, including H870.
Any idea if bands supported on the various versions can be edited (i.e. if radios actually support all bands but operator had them locked down)?
Hi, i have the G600K, can i change the firmware to L/S/V version? @xpirt,

So...shouldn't AT&T's version have support for LTE bands 17, 29 and 30?

updated, but not sure about band 17
The H870DS does not support band 2 or 17. It supports:
GSM 850,900,1800,1900,
WCDMA 850,900,1900,2100
TD-SCDMA 1900,2000
LTE 1,3,4,5,7,8,12,20,26,28,38,39,40,41

It's so difficult to get accurate (and consistent) info, so thanks for your efforts to update the compatibility listing. For example, I read elsewhere that the 870DS supported LTE 17 and 2 but not 5. But just above, Adrift98 reports the opposite. Makes it difficult to pick up an AT&T compatible G6 with 64 GB storage. So it makes me want to skip the G6 altogether.
Band 17 is the main LTE band for AT&T, so I am sure it is compatible. At least, I hope so.

Band 12 covers band 17. That's why newer AT&T phones list band 12 instead of band 17.
I'm on AT&T (Cricket to be specific) here in Ohio, and I do not get band 17 (or any LTE for that matter) on the H870DS. Confirmed with LTE Discovery, and tested with a phone that does get LTE. I've only seen LTE briefly on the H870DS in a large town, and that was likely band 5. Lack of LTE on AT&T for the H870DS was also confirmed by another user living in California.
I've been researching 3 models. All the info I have is directly from LG's website. I really wanted to go with the H870DS to have 64GB and Dual Sim slots but it's missing LTE bands 2 and 66 which T-Mobile does use in some places. US997 is missing 66 so I'm just going to go with T-Mobile's version. Any idea why the T-Mobile version is the only one to list the bands separately as "roaming bands"? Hopefully it'll still function fine if I choose to use it elsewhere.

Hi I'm from México, I'm interested to buy H850, but some websites says, that H850 AND H850RT doesnt' support 4G LTE Band 4 AWS and it says they are the same phone, my question is: ¿Does H850 support LTE B4 AWS (1700 /2100)?, I'll buy it on Aliexpress. ***B4 AWS also works on U.S.A*** thanks for your time.
I just spoke to a Moto Rep face to face at a Verizon Location. I asked specificly when the G6 Plus would be available in the states and he said only 4 devices will be available in that price range, the E4, E5, G6, and G6 play.
Then in the 2 quarter they will announce the Z3 which he wouldn't comment on....
*EDIT*
I ended up purchasing a Moto G6 Plus Dual SIM International Model, because it has all the current GSM Carrier LTE Bands, but this model does not play nice on CDMA Carriers LTE, except TMOs 600mhz... Contacted Motorola in regards to turning the 600mhz band on, awaiting a reply.
Also, I contacted Moto Customer Care, they confirmed what i previously stated, in regards to NO USA G6 Plus Version.....
*EDIT*
The Moto G6 Plus Dual SIM variant will the Model # XT-1926-7 WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH AT&T WIRELESS AND T-Mobile, except for TMO's 600mhz band, which i am waiting for an answer from the Moto Gods above...
The dual Sim international version has same LTE Bands as US except 600mhz. I just ordered a G6 Plus International version from Amazon.

By the way, This particular model covers ALL GSM Carriers LTE Bands for AT&T and TMO, except for the 600 mhz band which i am waiting to find out if theres an ON switch for that...

Does this mean the 600mhz band only applies to T-Mobile, or would need to switch it on to use with AT&T as well?

I believe the 600mhz band is more for capacity issues, and im not sure if ATT will have Roaming Agreements with TMO on said spectrum... sorry
*edit*
But the model i ordered, the XT-1926-7, covers ALL ATT and TMO current bands...only a handful of devices are running 600mhz while other models will just require an OTA update to turn 600 to the ON position.
edit- just saw your edit. I just looked it up, and my current US market phone is not among the handful that support that band anyway.
Thank you. I live in a remote rural area where T-mobile reception was bad, and AT&T is acceptable with a normal USA phone, so I probably do need all those bands.
Disappointed to find out no G6 plus or Nokia 7 plus in USA. Maybe that will change. In the meantime it would be great if international versions works just as well- please update if/how you get that band turned on.
Mine should be here any minute
My luck USPS will run late today....
I don't understand their sales policy, don't know about US but example from UK:
G6 Plus exclusively sold by one company not available elsewhere. Amazon UK for some reason only sells G6 Play as well says "exclusive for Amazon" but lets say Amazon DE do sell G6 Plus. P.S. Why Motorola don't sell their phones directly on their website..? I'm confused...
Update on Activating/Enabling 600 mhz
fo use on t-mobile. Just ordered phone. Thanks
If I call Moto/Lenovo direct, could I buy one for use in USA? If I told them I will be traveling abroad? Maybe?

Don't believe what they say on the Amazon website about the LTE bands for the MOTO G6 Plus (XT191926-7).
They say:

since It doesn't list a -7 variant as the amazon ad does. If yours is a -7 variant it will be marked on the phones back bottom bezel. In the end i couldnt construct enough supportive data that persuaded me to buy the g6+. Probably the largest factor was that the G6+ didnt have a US warranty. Stop with the misinformation.
First, you say there is no XT1926-7, now you say there is. Yes there is:
https://fccid.io/IHDT56WL5/Test-Report/XT1926-6-XT1926-7-TestRpt-DXX-3754423
Secondly, no it does not say it on the bezel. Again, take it from someone who owns the device.
Third, as for TJ/The OP, great guy. Talked to him on many occasions in the Telegram dev chat. I don't recall him having issues with carriers, but maybe I am forgetting something. We had issues with the software channel setting being RETLA not RETUS, so that might be a factor if he did indeed have issues. In either case, the device works fine for me on Straight Talk(AT&T), Simple Mobile(T-Mobile), and Walmart Family Mobile(T-Mobile). I see in the OP he mentioned CDMA carriers. The FCC report states it only supports WCDMA not CDMA. So that's probably a factor to.
If you have passed on the device, please pass up this part of the forum rather then spreading misinformation and contradicting yourself about a device you don't own which contradicts your earlier post here.

1- So what is the designation of that -7 variant? Does it get all the US LTE bands?
2- My G6 had it on a sticker fixed on the back.....
3-WhoTH said anything about anything being your friends fault? Nice of you to stick up for him though. So..it had to do with the software channel as you mentioned. How did you fix it?

1. Answered in the Moto Forum Post you linked to, but It get's all T-Mo bands. I can't be asked to research other GSM based LTE Bands used in the US, but again, the phone works on AT&T and T-Mobile for me. I don't know what TJs issue was seems it is isolated or mostly isolated to him.
2. A sticker? Stickers come and go but I don't recall one being on my device.
3. Who said it was my friend? I said I have talked to him, and he's a good guy. No it was never determined to be software related. It was never confirmed what the issue was.
4. Again, you say you didn't buy it, but yet in point #2 you claimed yours had a sticker. If you didn't buy it then how did "your's" have a sticker?

What firmware model did you use as destination during Frankenstein?
If you're on US998 firmware, then you have the US998 bands. If you're on VS996 firmware, then you have the VS996 bands.
US998 bands are listed in the Frankenstein instructions (see below). Verizon VS996 bands are easily searchable.
http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-US998-Unlocked-v30
US998
CDMA: 800 MHz CDMA
2G GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G UMTS (HSPA):850/900/1900/2100 MHz
4G LTE Bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/12(17)/13/20/25/66
Compare the bands for Philippine carriers listed in the link below with the bands in Chazz' post. Then choose a local carrier based on coverage where you're going (and price/allotments, of course).

Its the F variant right? In his posting it states:
Chipset Exynos 9820 Octa (8 nm) - EMEA
Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) - USA/LATAM, China
He did ship you the Exynos without region lock?

Yup exynos. I have bought S8+ exynos from the same eBay seller.

The SM-G975F/DS is factory unlocked but it looks like it has limited LTE bands to be used on US carriers w/o problems.
The Exynos SM-975N is the one you need to have a global range.

you're right, it should work on AT&T, only the LTE band 30 is missing here but it'll work and that's pretty much it if someone tries to use it on other carriers, like Tmo etc...

Haven't set up yet. Just waiting for case and rooting. Don't want to start over after root and format data.
Didn't even think about eBay, thanks for the tip @cline2. Just ordered a S10e exynos from another seller for $697. Paid for the next day shipping and should have it Thurs.
Got my S10e G970F/DS, in the US today, currently working well on Mint Mobile, excited for rooting!

Where do you see the LTE Band coverage? I've clicked on that link and there's no information on LTE Bands.. might be because I'm viewing it on mobile. Are you stating that the G975 F/DS does not support band 12/66 like every eBay seller claims it does?

it's all there
https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s10-model-number-sm-g970-g973-g975-g977-differences/
and when you open that link you'll see 3 more links for 10e, 10 and 10+ with listed model variations/ltebands,etc...
G975F/Ds :
SM-G975F/DS (Dual-SIM Unlocked) Exynos 9820 Asia (India, Singapore)
2G GSM: 850/900/1800/1900
3G UMTS: 850/900/1700/1900/2100

Exynos 'N' has 12 , then all UK exynos models have 12 and 66 but aren't listed as F/DS but rather as "hybrid sim" F only, I guess that counts as a DS but isn't specified that way.

Damn, I'd be curious to see how this information was amassed.. either way, I'm hoping that the Exynos version that I'm getting is the UK version.. it's coming from a seller in Miami so I'm gonna say it's not lol - most likely from South East Asia.
