Trying to find and upgrade with correct rom - AT&T HTC One (M8)

I've tried several zip files and RUUs with no success. I have an old ATT phone which I unlocked. I'm trying to get to Marshmellow.
Any help would be appreciated.
It looks like this:
c:\Users\Dan\Downloads>fastboot getvar all

The correct RUUs are in my Index thread, under the "RUU" section: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751432
Take note of the red text, since you are updating to MM, you will need to flash MM firmware.zip in fastbootRUU mode, before the RUU will install properly.
If the bootloader is unlocked, you will also need to relock it to RUU, with command: fastboot oem lock

For this statement to be useful in any way, we need specific details. If you don't list the file names or version numbers of the zip files or RUUs, then we have no idea what you tried. Also, you should list error messages or other specific results instead of just saying 'no success". The error messages will usually tell you why it failed. May or may not be AT&T RUUs, may have failed due to unlocked bootloader, etc.
Also don't know what you mean "several zip files". Are they zip format RUUs, or something else?

I got TWRP running. I then found a zip file using my cidnum. It is SkyDragon-M8ul-M8vzw-EYEul_v1.6.0_MM.zip. It failed the zip file check, but I installed anyway. It seems to be working fine thus far. Thanks for your response.

[Q] Trying go back to STOCK with RUU.exe Error 140

Hi there,
I came from CM 10.1.1 by Lloir and tried to get back to Stock.
I flashed the original boot.img the stock recovery, relocked the bootloader and used every RUU exe listed in the Device essential material section.
Everytime I get the Error 140 "Bootloader Version Error".
My version-main is 1.17.401.3. The latest available RUU exe has 1.17.401.1... is this maybe why it doesn't works?
Here is my data:
fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5a
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.40.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 3.1204.168A.32

... I have read other threads where people had the same error code, but all of their solutions didn't work for me and I was dumb enough to not do a nandroid backup having STOCK RUU.
As long it doesn't work I can use CM 10.1.1... I have only to flash the right boot.img for CM for that time, so I can use the phone.
Has anyone an idea how I can solve this problem and get back to stock?
Best regards.

[Q] Issue with unlocking bootloader after firmware update.

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue unlocking my bootloader after updating the firmware.
When preparing to install the newest version of Android Revolution HD I thought it'd be a good time to update my firmware before switching to the KitKat based ROM. I used the firmware and instructions from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823
All went well until I tried to unlock the bootloader. I can complete all the steps through sending the Unlock_code.bin to the phone, which is successfully sent via fastboot, but I never get the notice on the phone to unlock. Nothing happens.
I believe my best course of action is to flash an RUU but I can't find any that are 4.06.1540.2 or higher at the moment and with S-ON and a locked bootloader, I can't load anything earlier.
If anyone has any insights I'd be most gracious, I'm currently without a phone and have to lug around a Galaxy Tab 3 for mobile connectivity.
Here's my getvar:
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.56.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 4A.22.3263.14
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None

More info
I'll also note that I've tried two different computers, three different cables, and I've probably tried at least 20 different Unlock_code.bins.
I'm really at a loss here, I can flash both 4.06.1540.2 and 4.06.1540.3 to the device from Mike's firmware link; the device has no problems communicating via fastboot. It's just not asking me if I want to unlock after a successful code transfer.

[Q] HOX+ IMEI Unknown - Android Revolution 8.0

Hi, as title states, i purchased a HOX+ 64gb which did not boot, tried factory settings etc etc and always got stuck, tried finding an RUU and could not find for my version....
Anyway, been reading for 2 weeks on here and tried a few various things to get it to boot.
All failed until Android Revolution.
I put a custom recovery on, think its Team Venom Mod of TWRP
Unlocked The bootloader following instructions on here HTC Dev.
flashed boot.img extracted from AndroidRev8.0 zip (did not flash in fastboot so used a script that allows to flash from recovery on this forum)
Flashed the rom from recovery, and brilliant, the phone loads up, wifi bluetooth all work, just IMEI is unknown.
I've tried a few other roms from here, and they all do the same, only thing i have not tried is nandroid backup, but ive not read about them enough yet to trust myself in what im looking for.
I will post fastboot getvar all shortly, but at present im trying a locked bootloader with an RUU i just found while writing this....
Any suggestions for me to try??

You don't have to S-Off to install custom roms and kernels, it just makes it easier to install. To install while S-On, you must extract the boot.img file from the rom zip and install via fastboot while in bootloader mode. If you are trying to restore to stock with an RUU, you must relock the bootloader or the RUU won't run properly and fail.
Repy
I have re-locked and tried to install my ruu file but it always fails saying that my phone got disconnected .Also my "version-main" is blank.
I managed to fix it thanks for your reply es0tericcha0s you have finished my 3 day ordeal.

I have the .exe from T-Mo website. But I'd prefer the .zip as I still remember how to do that from my Mac.

ota update can't be installed using TWRP, only with the stock recovery and your /system partition must be 100% untouched.
The zip ruu can be extracted from the .exe file if you prefer to manually flash the zip file: Launch the ruu.exe file on a Windows pc, wait for the file to extract and once at the welcome screen, hit the "windows key" + "r", type %temp% and once the local temp folder is open, do a search for rom.zip (rom.zip is the ruu.zip without the long detailed file name). Copy/paste the rom.zip file from there your working folder. Once done you can close the ruu program (only close the program once you have the rom.zip, closing the program will erase temp files).
can't seem to extract the .exe in VirtualBox on my Mac.
It stops after a few minues.
Is there a link to the ruu.zip?
By "working folder" I assume on the M7?
Then how to install that so the update happens?
I have the stock recovery recovery_7.18.531.2..
what do you mean by 100% untouched and/or how to I get back to that?
I can't find my notes and don't recall.
is this the path?

Method 2 - flashing RUU (ROM Update Utility)
Boot your device in fastboot mode
In the Command Prompt type following command: fastboot oem lock
Flash RUU and follow on screen instructions.
this is from Process Monitor on VB W7 trying to extract RUU.exe to rom.zip
But there is nothing on the folder.
tried again from BootCamp.
Still no go.
Would someone please post or link the RUU.zip result from the RUU.exe for 7.18.531.35?
Thanks,
