[Q] Taking Better Photo's with the Photon...

I feel like the Photon has the capability to take decent pictures but with a higher rate of efficiency if maybe better software was written for it. Using the stock camera software I find it hard to take a good picture. Yes I know the photon doesn't have an amazing camera and it suffers whenever there isn't enough light.
But using apps from the market like :Camera360 and Camera zoom FX, I am able to take much better pictures.
Camera360 has a "stabalization Feature" which basically waits until you stop shaking the damn camera, which has been able to produce the least blurry pics but the problem is there is much much more noise in this mode.
Has anyone had any luck with apps that maybe I haven't tried yet. I don't mind paying for it so I am not limited to free apps. Or has someone come up with a way to take good pics with the photon that I haven't tried yet.
Also does anyone know of a way to adjust the focus when in video mode? Is there an app or a mod that would allow me to adjust the focus when shooting video?
Thanks for any help or advice.
im also interested on buying one of the app but still can decide which one work better on photon
the camera zoom FX
or
Camera 360
can anyone give input ?
Personally out of the 8 or so camera apps I have 360 and Vignette are the best overall apps for taking pictures
As for video idk
sample of 360 enhance effect when I was first trying out the Photons camera
sent from deep space on a random Photon

pls delete, wrong thread

Hi
im searching a camera which makes less noisy pictures.
I read, that the FV-5 Camera can make good pics with less noise than stock cams.
But the app doesnt work good. Everything is overlighted.
I tried ucam and others. But with the M8 cam i get noise pictures
For example on white walls
Can you suggest me some?
Thanks

The best way to use the camera

First of all, sorry for my english, its not my strong but ill do my best. There's no good forums in spanish who can help me.
Question is simple, should i use 23 mpx or 8 mpx for better quality?
I read before that 8 mpx auto is better for low light, but in good lights, or indoor, or rest of situations?
I'll be so grateful for the help or some tips. Thank you so much. :victory:
P/d: im using Camera stock, because i don't know how is the best way to root and i can't prove Cyberian or XZ Camera.
The 8MP will do some post-processing to you like denosie and sharpen. If you only run stock Z5 cam, low light is better to use 8MP and outdoor 23MP.
The reason is Sony didn't real finish the full resolution 20/23MP mode in the old days, so pretty much all guys suggested to use 8MP for indoor/low light. However, up to XP/XZ/XC the 23MP mode is very mature finally and no need to use 8MP again even in low light, in my opinions, but you will need root to replace the stock Z5 cam.

Thank you for answer, i would like to be root but there's so much ways and i dont know what is the best way with the minor risk, can you guide me with links or steps to have the XP/XZ/XC camera?. Anyways, again, thanks for answer :fingers-crossed: .
Hi guys. I am not going to make new post I rather use this one Because my question is camera related.
I used to use LGG4 for a while used to love camera and Manual mode. Now I own Z5C and looks like manual mode is very limited. Is there anyway to adjust shutter speed? Or other settings. I haven't try other camera apps but so far guys I really don't like Z5C camera once you try LG G4 camera with laser focus f1.8... Maybe i need more time to play with it

Ordered Pocophone, camera really that "bad"? + Other questions

Hi, guys.
I sold my Redmi Note 5 Pro and for about 120€ more bought a Pocophone 6/128gb. The phone will arrive in like 2 weeks.
I watched MKBHD's video where Pocophone placed 2nd in the blind camera test, right after Huawei Mate 20 Pro. So I thought it should have a good camera.
But then, I read a bit here and noticed that the camera isn't even that good.
So my question:
How good is the camera compared to RN5, if someone has experience with the RN5?
Is the gcam working without bugs? Or, is gcam even that much better than stock poco camera?
And, is there anything else I should know about the device? Like essential stuff I have to do when I get the phone?
I like miui so I don't want to switch to aosp. I guess the notifications lag is not persistent if you set up everything.
Is RAM management in miui like in aosp roms? Meaning apps in background not closing quickly?
I just want to make sure I made no mistake buying this phone and even if I did, I would sell the phone and get me something else in that price range.
That would be it I guess.
Thanks!
There is no 1080p 60 fps.
When you are using the camera in the afternoon you will get banding the antibanding doesn't work for it. Like 3 alternating opaque black rectangles moving up and down during recording.
Eis is blurry to even the slightest movement like no comparison to ois.
The only reason they think the photos are good is because of the stock image processing aka it's color filters.

Xiaomi Mi9T/Redmi K20 Photo & Video Thread

Hello,
First of all, we glad that xiaomi produced this completed package phone with budget price.
Lets share our photos and videos experiences using this lovely device.
Currently the downside that I found in video is lack shooting 24fps video and Filmic Pro wont open.
Feel free to share your photos guys
The phone is capable of taking great pictures with the Stock Camera if you have good light conditions like you see in my sample shots. They were taken with the main camera and just point and shoot. No fiddling around in the pro menu. However in low light I would recommend using the Google Camera port. The results are night and day compared to the stock camera and also selfies come out better with the Google camera.

maybe it's some little hand movement while taking the shot, you should try to take a picture with the phone fixed so you see the real result.

I'm not a huge photographer. I really need the camera only for point and shoot scenarios and for that the cameras in this phone are more than enough. And for low light and selfies I just use Gcam.

That's actually impressive that a phone can capture that much details!! I wonder how it looks with Gcam.
GCam result look better for me, even the Night Mode. Stock cam sometimes abit blur/miss focus, dunno why... but with GCam, the contras is more stunning than the stock.
Pro mode stock app can take longer shutter speed than Moment Pro Camera app that i have.
anyone tries the video? Moment Pro Camera app video still cannot shoot 24fps, Filmic Pro cannot open the app.
Any idea why the phone doesn't support 4k60 Video? Because it can take 1080p240 Video which uses the same bandwidth .
What version and settings of Gcam are you guys using?

The IMX582 doesn't take 4K60 but only 30 frames. If you go full HD then 60 fps is ok. It is the snapdragon 730 that can't and it's the only difference with the pro version (snap 855)
Here are from my "Redmi K20"

MIUI Sky Filter can help changes dull sky to a blue sky ? awesome
FilmicPro team still working on issue for Mi9T, just got invitation beta tester, they say will update it soon.
Do you guys have autofocus issues while recording videos? Mine aren't smooth at all, few sporadic lags and a lot of "bounce" effect caused by the lense that fails to focus.

yes, autofocus was or maybe still is broken, especially in 60fps mode - not sure how it is now on stable roms, as am using betas.
4K video are nowhere at 30 fps, more around 20fps.
I can see that EIS is working at 4K res on 9.8.8 beta
Honestly my Pocophone is much better in video recording than Mi9T.
Still photo wise - I have made many nice shots with pocophone in past, not a single one as nice with Mi9T so far...
pro mode, 32seg expó. beautiful night
Night mode stock cam.
