[AMAZFIT] [BIP] Black Screen after flash solution - Amazfit

Hello guys, after looking out a lot to find a solution to my problem I noted there there isn't any thread directly treating this problem.
So, yesterday I was trying to update my amazfit Bip, because it has been unable to connect with mi fit app for some time now.
I followed a guide on how to do it with gadgetbridge.
Unfortunately I installed .fw file before .res, the result is horrible, I've got my Bip in a black screen for 2 days now.
It appears as a Bluetooth device, but no app was able to pair with it, I've tried mi fit, gadgetbridge, notify and amazfit app neither my phone will pair with it.
Have anyone seen a solution!? Maybe a hardware one!?

Same here. I already sent an email to the support but they don't really seem to care. No solution so far.

I tried draining the battery until it was fully off (confirmed by "not showing up in the bluetooth device list on my phone")
Then I tried charging to full battery but the only thing that happened was, that the watch started showing up in the bluetooth device list again. Screen remained black/off.
I also tried various button press combinations if there exist any, such as holding the button for 30 sec. Short pressing then holding, etc. Nothing seemed to work.

I saw there is a Winbond 25Q64FWIQ flash onboard, so i'm wondering if anyone has a flash dump to try to reflash mine with a chip programmer

Front 3 buttons not responding

Hi,
I brought a pre-owned HTC radar off ebay. Overall the phone is in excellent condition, however the front 3 buttons, vibrate when pressed, but provide response from the phone interface. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a fault with the phone?

Hi, i'm having exactly the same problem , 3 front buttons doesnt react on software but they vibrates..
If anyone knows about this issue please let us know for the solution.

I had this issue some weeks ago after doing a hard-reset. Found the solution through some forums. Can't seem to find again. I remember i had to do something stupid and the 3 keys started working fine. Sorry dont have phone with me, so
I am not 100% sure, but try going to Settings > Connection Setup. There, you will either wait till your phone picks up your network settings or you select manually. Sorry I dnt have that phone with me either to verify exact steps.
Well, phone's soft kets started working again!!!

You have to get into settings, go to the thing where you can select your telco and get it of automatic. Once you can choose other telco's you have to select automatic again. If in the meantime you made a Windows Live account, you'll receive a text from Windows Phone.

I also had thsi problem. after numerous hard and soft resets the problem persisted. the next day i plugged my phone to charge it with another charger and the problem went away. don't know if this did the trick but that was the moment in which the phone recovered.

[BV9000 Pro] Setup Wizard Error Loop and the conniving practices of some companies

QUICK RANT:
There are people with similar problems on Blackview's forum website, so I thought to add another unsolved google result to the mix. Apparently every thread and comment are approved my their moderators, even with the promise that each one is answered within a day, all of my thread requests and comments have been blocked. I assume this has to do with maintaining product confidence. At surface level all the issues seem minimal and the threads all have answers. Someone even stupidly asked If the phone would get the Oreo update, now their lone approved post in the rom section is the poster-child for post release support "hope". I guess I am stupid for buying this inaccessible paperweight.
MY PROBLEM:
No matter what option I select at the startup, the device stalls on the connect to wifi and check for update screen. No amount of updating or even suggested OTA upgrade will fix this especially given that OTA requires access to the options/settings screen that is only found post startup. I have basic experience flashing a droid III to make it compatible with different carriers. I don't have experience flashing newer phones or custom roms. Please don't put my thread in limbo, you are my only hope frontier superusers! :angel:
Edit/Update:
I figured out a work around based on a YouTube video I watched that explained that you need to access the settings menu to force stop the "startup wizard" process. I accessed it through using the contact/feedback page feature of the third-party custom emoji keyboard that comes stock on the Android. Perhaps I shouldn't detail anymore in case seeing how this is a hole in the Android nougat security. PM me for more details if you want.
TLDR; there is a stock app on these phones that allow you to bypass a bugged startup wizard and resume basic setup and function of the phone as long as it has not been synced with a previous Google account no flashing required.
I had no issues with the setup wizard, it just needed some time. (I skipped it on the first start to perform a OTA update before make any more settings. After this update everything works like it should.)
Same problem
I have the exact same issue. The installation wizard keeps on quiting. Drives me nuts too. I does not matter what I do and what options I choose, with or without sim, with or without wifi. It has something to do with the android version, more android telephones are affected. However on other phones (see YouTube) you can still access the normal menu and work around the issue. With the BV9000PRO this does not work.
Hi. I'm having the exact same problem on my bv9000 pro, but when I access the boot menu, it's in Chinese. Are the menu settings in the same order as in English? That way, I may be able toggle/turn off that setup wizard and be able to use the phone. Thanks.

This worked on my phone: copied from a YouTube post:
Disable all the wi-fi connections in the radius of the Phone, skip the procedure for the SIM, at this point it will ask you if you want to continue without connections and yes, do not enter the name and surname to give the phone a name, accept the Google / Android agreements, at this point the phone will be activated, no update is necessary via OTA if you have the BV9000 PRO-F phone (full HD version). There are two versions of this PRO series phone, the BV9000 PRO (not full HD) and the BV9000 PRO-F (full HD). I hope this solution will work for you too. Let me know bye.
I had the same and trouble shooted through it all and the only issue I have left is finding a carrier for the USA and if or how to change parameters of Bv 9000 phone frequencies to work in the United States. Any advice from anybody in the world please send advice, Tony

After reading some forums, i understood that the new screens that are sell now are FHD+ and we need to upgrade our ROM so the new screen can work.
My questions are now :
1- where can i find this new rom that includes English and google play services.
2- if i install it, my old screen will still work?
3- this rom will let the new FHD+ screen to work?

Hi I know this is an old thread but I have issues with my second Blackview phone that is the BL6000 Pro.
To answer you: I have found several links to stock roms on the Blackview forum, they might even be interchangeable but I haven't tried.
I am currently seeking support to see if flashing with another "series" ROM will fix the Bl6000 pro hardware compatibility issues.

EMUI 9 and Google work profile Problem

Does anyone uses the work profile? cause everytime that i update the EMUI, the work profile stops recognize the security pattern. Last night before i update, i just changed to PIN number to test, same thing... it keeps telling me that the number is wrong after the update is finished. i have to delete the work profile and set up all again.

my last huawei device period .... they need to learn that doenst matter if you have top notch hardware if your software sucks a big time!
I catched the same issue with P20 Pro last week. Had to reset my phone, I could not unlock and delete work profile only. Pin was not accepted.

The is no option to set New Work profile, when you are locked. Only modifying sync properties, accounts inside work profile. You can disable work profile, but you will never able to enable it back.
Can You kindly demonstrate by screenshot how can you create New profile, while old still exist (even without profile lockdown)? I do not see such options.

I do this after every update !

In my case it requested PIN - I was not able to delete without confirmation. Which version of software you have? I had issue after update to 9.0.0.270, but I have P20 Pro.

I have to use Microsoft Company Portal for my working email, which create a google working profile. It has the same issue every time I update the Huawei software. Here is my workaround:
1. Go to Settings - Users & accounts - (Go to the bottom) Remove work profile. Be careful, at this stage, do not uninstall the Company Portal or change anything.
2. Open Company Portal app - choose delete the current profile (or something like that) and re-enroll your device.
If everything used to work, it should work now. The key is don't uninstall the Company Portal app, otherwise you may probably need to go through the lengthy App launch/Permisssions/Administrative privilege things to make it work.
Regarding who to blame on this issue, (1) the compatibility of Huawei (but since apparently US is banning US companies from working with Huawei, it may get worse); (2) Microsoft ( I really had bad experience with their company portal app and their recent software updates (aka office updates) in general; (3) Google? The working profile thing is not very intuitive. When download a pdf from my working email, I cannot even read it without having to install an app withing the working profile.

Stratos 3 altitude workout report on amazfit app

i'm facing a strange issue since 4.2.3 firmware (same with 4.2.4):
the workout report on the wtch is good (altitude is ok) but on amazfit app it begins at -20000m for 20/30 secondes then a drop to the good one after.
check my picture it is unreadable.
sometime the preview is good but if i click on + to get details i have the same begin at -20000m for 20s.
do you have the same?
i also noticed during a workout if the watch is unlocked i have an altitude (230m for ex) then when the screen locks i have another one (240m) then if i unlock the watch again it's back to 230m... there's always differences depending on the screen state
the report on the watch is good. Only in amazApp seems faulty (for Altitude) all other logs are OK but i can not decripte my workout altitude...
Do you have those bugs?
I have the same issue with the Amazfit app and the altitude with Stratos 3. I also own the Notify & Fitness app and there the altitude graph seems pretty accurate 100% of times.
I also notice the wrong value only happens sometimes and depending with the sport I did on my watch.

yeah but there's another bug: on your watch the elevation is begin at 16m up to 24m and ends at 2...
on strava/endomondo/amazapp the highest is 2m and lowest -17m ?????? and you begin at -5 m?
i have the exactly the same differences between wath the watch says and what is synched.... (anyway data of the watch are always good)

Yes I didn't pay attention to the actual numbers. There is indeed a constant shift in the exported values. The height values from the watch look more correct as there is only one area below sea level in town and I didn't run there

> Datas shown on the watch during the activity are OK
> Datas shown on the watch report (after activity) are OK
> Datas on the Amazfit App are wrong : Elevation is different from the watch (usually lower than the reality, compared with a "level line map"), and I have the "-20000" problem on the graph
> Datas exported to Strava are wrong​
I send almost everyday the reports to Amazfit using the app, I hope they will fix this very annoying issue !
I need to try in the Ultra Mode to be able to compare. However accuracy of the GPS will be much less (1 point per minute vs 1 point per second using normal mode)
Did someone tried on latest cn firmware? So many updates since my post but no for global fw for the moment

Thanks Winni21, however I haven't unlocked Bootloader on my watch, and I'm a bit afraid to do so regarding the warranty. Nevertheless, this ROM looks much more complete than the one we have !
Are you thinking about trying to install it ?

[Question] How to pack a rom and flash for smart display

Hi guys. Not sure if I'm in the right sub but I'm desperate for help.
I've had a Lenovo smart display 8 and it was working okay before. I did not use it for some time until I moved back to my country lately.
I tried to set it up and it seemed to update to the latest firmware. Voice works but I noticed that the screen isn't responsive. Thinking that something was wrong, I tried to reboot the device but it didn't get any better, so I tried resetting by holding +/- buttons. It went through the setup process again but now at the final step, it won't go any further. It looks like a bug that has disabled the touch screen imo. I've searched and found a lot of people having the same issue with not just lenovo but also nest hub. Do anyone have an idea how we can flash an older firmware to fix this?? (I'm not in the US btw, so I can't send it to service center. And the device isn't distributed in my country so I doubt whether local support could help. I don't want it to become a paperweight) It gets even more frustrating that the device is connected to wifi network and can receive audio cast, even youtube cast but the screen will only show Almost done! Finish setup.
I've tried to collect resources across the internet. There is open-source from lenovo website. File in tar.gz and I don't know how to compile it into an img file for flashing. There is another thread when someone posted a system dump in another thread, but it's not active. I wonder which one to use and further steps to make it work. Can anyone with expertise help me, please??
