[Q] How can I downgrade to 2.1? I need Backup and Restore

Well, I didn't know that Backup and Restore doesn't work on gingerbread (the damn SE software didn't tell me this), so I lost a deal of info that I want back
I don't know how to downgrade to 2.1, so I'd appreciate the help since I've no idea to do it, only thing I found is "yes you can downgrade", but doesn't say how.
I updated the x10i to official software. I searched a bit and it says that backup and restore data is encrypted, so no luck using another app I guess.
Thanks!
Download, install: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196908
v2.1's Backup & Restore is compatible.

Ota update while rooted?

Hey everyone. I tried searching around with no luck but i rooted a friends verizon fascinate and the ota update fails to install with the message "ip failed last update fail" or something like that after it downloads and restarts. Anybody have any ideas? Do I need to reinstall the stock apps? Thanks
You can't OTA while rooted. Just flash stock GB or a new ROM.
Is there a way to do it without wiping the phone? As in unrooting and replacing the apps?
I'm afraid not. The only way to unroot is to return to stock.

[Q] Can't update from HC to ICS

Hi guys!
I have a problem updating my Sony Tablet S from (rooted) HC to ICS. I always get the message Could update, errorcode seven. Now I have read a lot and I think it is because I have the wrong region. I have the german tablet with 3G.
I remember, that I along time ago changed to (I think) US (I don't remember why I did this). Now I wanted to changed back, so I changed to German region with 3g. However, Update failed. So I read, that I can press number 0, so I change back to original region. However, it failed again.
So now: I don't know what I can do... Do you have an idea for me?
My model is: SGPT114DE/S
Hoping, someone can help me
Thank you!!!

Thanks for your respond! I would do that, but I don't know how to backup all my apps and reinstall them when I am on ICS. I could use Titanium Backup, but if I don't get ICS rooted, I couldn't install the backup (I think...). Am I correct? Do you maybe have another idea?
Thank you very much!

[Q] Data loss on downgrade

Hey guys,
Do I lose all my data on a downgrade? (4.4.4 to 4.4.2) because I think it's just like a update, just the other way round.
Thanks in advance, _Heisenberg

yes you will lose all the data. it not exactly an update. its more like a factory restore. if you dont select system while flashing than you might retain the data but it'll create other problems i think like FCs and such. if you want retain the data, like game progress and such i suggest you use helium app, it can backup entire data and restore it when you have flashed anything else. but if you gonna unlock your bootloader and flash a lollipop ROM than its not gonna help as file placement is different in lollipop, i dont know whether even titanium will help in that case, you might have to start completely from scratch.

Okay, i just want to flash the downgrade for root and recovery, so I think there is no problem with it, is it? And if I downgrade, I think I am able to backup everything with Titanium Backup. Do you think that's possible?

You can root and then update using the PRFtool and you'll retain root, probably even after OTA you will retain root, but i've heard that it varies with different people, you may or may not retain root after simple OTA, also i'm not sure how much help titanium backup will be before rooting as it requires root for backup function, as i suggested, use helium app, no root required. keep the backup safe, flash the prf through recovery, the flash the baseband and kernel through the ftf, then you'll be on latest FW with root and then you can restore the data from helium backup.
Edit: just now understood, you meant use titanium after downgrading and rooting probably, you will lose all the data during downgrading, so nothing will be left after downgrading to backup. have to backup before downgrading.

How can I fully restore ?

Hi there,
In the past, I did some test of root and unlock the bootloader.
Now I would like to use it as stock and be able to use the software Xperia Companion to update, repair and everything on the tablet.
My issue is that I can't do anything on it.
Does anyone can help me to restore it as stock ?
Thank you
Select recover in Companion and then connect Z3. Follow the instructions and it's simple. It will wipe everything to factory default.
