Hello guys,
i have a bricked rooted oneplus x
I had issues with the rooted rom so i flashed the newest stock rom via twrp
The phone boots up and showed the usual otimizing apps message. After the proccess is done it just the usual "let me helpt set up your phone page" and then restarts
I cant acces twrp anymore and when i try to acces the stock recovery it just shows a oneplus logo
I do have access to fastboot though (i hope that leaves some hope)
I have tried the MegaUnbrickGuide here in the forum but i wasn't able to install the drivers i need for that method
One more thing whenever i try
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
i get the "remote dtb not found" message
Does that have to do with developer options not being unlocked?
Any ideas on how to just get some form of working os installed on the device
(i dont care wheter rooted or not at this point have been trying stuff for hours now)
regards
Jan
First download Minimal ADB and Fastboot and install it.
Go into fastboot mode.
1. Re-unlock your bootloader using the command - fastboot oem unlock
2. After doing that, download the latest version of TWRP(which at the time of writing this is 3.1.0) and rename it to 'recovery.img'
3. Open a command window in the place you have downloaded the recovery by pressing the shift key and right clicking and then choosing the option Open Command WIndow Here... Flash the recovery using the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
4. Boot into it using the command fastboot boot recovery.img
5. If it still gives 'remote dtb not found' then follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/help/opx-remote-dtb-solution-t3480274
6. If it boots into recovery, your phone is now fine and go ahead and flash whatever ROM you want.
Cheers!
hi Guys,
3days ago, I decided to unlock my boot loader and root my phone via following the steps from www*youtube*com/watch?v=R4c0fO8Kr_Q[/url]
when i tried to flash TWRP - i was stuck in the boot loader warning screen. i am still able to got recovery but it is not being detected can you help me with this?
Normal TWRP has known problems...
You can try flashing Squid TWRP (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...wrp-squid-twrp-recovery-moto-e-lte-t3137649): is a unbloated and optimized twrp for our device.
This situation has appened to me and i resolved by installing that TWRP.

From the video you posted before i assuming you have already installed motorola driver and fastboot or mfastboot.
Here are the steps:
0- Download SQUID TWRP and place it in e.g. C:\ (last version is twrp-surnia-3.2.1-r1.img);
1- Shut down your phone;
2- Press Power Button + Vol Up until you see bootloader screen;
3- Now connect your phone to PC;
4- On PC, open a commad window pront (Start -> "cmd" on research bar, then enter);
5- Cmd prompt;
6- Type "fastboot devices". It should show a serial number: PC has recognized your device;
8- Then type "fastboot flash recovery C:\twrp-surnia-3.2.1-r1.img" last parameter is the path where you placed recovery so change it if you have choosen another path;
9- Wait for 3-4 seconds until the prompt shows something similar to "complete" or "success";
10- Type "fastboot poweroff" and your device shuts down.
Now you have installed Twrp Recovery, if you want access it, repeat steps 1-2 and select recovery from bootloader menu.
If you want install a custom rom i suggest SlimRoms : follow the instructions to download and install this rom.

Can't find any custom ROMs for this device. I guess it is too early. I'll probably have to get another phone. Can't even find a twrp for it. New to this. Any suggestions?

This might be a stupid question. But isn't stock firmware what the device comes with? I'm trying to "de-google" my phone.

You can root it and use Magisk to clean things up but no de-Googling. Check out the thread.
Any device that launched with Android 8 or newer is compatible with GSIs. Any device that launched with Android 10 or newer use super.img, which require the extra step of repacking rather than flashing directly. This is what I would recommend if you want ROM support on a brand new device.

You can use a Treble system Image! <See below for files>
To flash,
Step #1: Use the treble info app to see if your phone supports treble (Optional, I know the moto g play 2021 is compatible)
Step #2: Download any treble OS from here: https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases/ (Or use files below)
Step #3: Download 15-second adb installer (I Prefer this because its fast than searching for drivers) Download Here: https://androiddatahost.com/wp-content/uploads/15_Second_ADB_Installer_v1.3.0.zip
Step #3.5: I assume you enabled oem unlock and bootloader, but if not, instructions are below
Step #4: Unlock your bootloader
(Step #1: Enable OEM by going to about phone and tap build number 7 times (I'm sure you know the rest )
Step #2 Hold Vol down, (While holding Vol down) connect to PC.
Step #3: Go to https://accounts.motorola.com/ssoau...ct/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-b
Sign into google or moto id, and follow steps to get unlock code (For bootloader unlock))
WARNING!! DATA ON DEVICE IS GONE!! WARANTY NOW VOID!!
Step #5: Run the command in CMD (as admin): adb devices (Starts ADB service)
Then run: fastboot devices (Your device should be connected)
Then run: fastboot oem unlock <unlock code here> (From website provided)
Then: You should get a message saying: Warning Blah Blah Blah. Just read the message
DONE! (Should reboot to factory settings)
Step #6: Turn device off, then hold Vol down, and connect to PC
Step #1: Make sure to have put the <imagename>.img you downloaded earlier in the adb folder in your windows local disk (and renamed it to "system.img" to make flashing easier)
Step #7: Reboot to fastbootd by running: "fastboot reboot fastboot" in CMD
Then run: fastboot erase system
Then: fastboot flash system system.img (Might get error message!) (To fix, run "fastboot delete-logical-partition product_a" Then run "fastboot flash system system.img" again)
Then wait. . .
After, run "fastboot -w"
Then: "fastboot reboot"
DONE!!!!!! Enjoy

Now, if I were to download a rom from the site, would it be A only? B? A/B?
They are all A/B, just check the filenames. If you read the release notes, they state there is no A-only build yet.

Make sure you have the current version of fastboot, AND that it's the one that you're using. Ran into that problem mysself, updated my PATH incorrectly and had it pointing to the wrong fastboot.exe.
After doing a flash for new pixel experience PixelExperience_Plus_beryllium-11.0-20210823-0645-OFFICIAL, phone restarted and then no other option for access. Boots into twrp logo and stuck.
adb devices in command prompt show device and recovery.
When I do bootloader into fast boot,
fastboot devices shows
??????? fast boot
then disconnects. (after this it doesnt progress any further and disconnects from pc).
cant fastboot any files as it has error, my boot loader is unlocked and was on pixel experience 10 prior.
what are my next steps?
the teamwin recovery is 3.2.3-0

Use the latest Official TWRP since the one you have now is outdated and do clean install according the guide at POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides. (You need to format data not just wipe) You can find everything you need there.
first time i turned on phone today, i was able to to do command fastboot devices and it actually showed the device id, then when i tried to flash it stopped and then everytime i connect it wont even show fastboot devices without showing ???????? and shutting down again.
ive tried installing uninstalling the drivers and boot loader drivers, i believe its something to do with that, otherwise it has unlock symbol when it gets stuck on twrp logo, then when i put into fastboot it doesnt have unlock symbol before fastboot splash, what could it be? (im unable to flash anything without getting
1. running fastboot flash/boot/ any command really

fastboot: error: Command failed

Check AMD Ryzen Fastboot Fix at the thread I posted above. If you have Intel system just install the Fastboot Drivers which is there (at the thread) and check.
First time poster.... please go gentle on me. Not entirely new to custom roms and TWRP, but really stuck here. I am trying to install a CrDroid ROM. Phone is not networked locked and brand new. What I managed to do so far:
1. Reset the phone
2. reboot into Recovery (Mi Recovery)
3. Wipe data
4. Unlocked the phone (using offical Mi Unlock)
I then proceeded to boot into Fastboot and flashed the TWRP (twrp-3.7.0_12-0-onclite), renamed to recovery. But after flashing and rebooting I can only get into Fastboot, or boot it normally. Holding down the Volume+Up and Power button doesn't get me anywhere but Fastboot. (Same for Volume-Down and Power Up). I tried both un-pluggin the phone from the PC immediately after flashing is finished, and using Fastboot Reboot command, but all to no avail. Its Fastboot or normal boot only.
I also tried whats suggested here upto the vbmeta image, but didn't make a difference. When sending the 'fastboot boot recovery.img' command, I get the following error:
C:\adb>fastboot boot recovery.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.939s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: unknown reason)
finished. total time: 1.502s
Trying this guide for a 'custom' boot image from this page also didnt help
Really hoping there is a way to get this resolved. But totally stuck here. Have access to both Mac OS and Windows 10. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be wonderful!
Ok, small update - in hope to help others...
I went ahead and used 'XiaoMiTool V2'to see if it might help to load a different ROM. When starting the app, I choose the 'Bricked' device option, even it wasnt bricked. I choose the Global ROM 12. (The phone showed up as unknown and I didnt sign in with the Mi Account).
After the new ROM was on it, phone started normally and went through the setup. Had to re-enable Developer Options, USB Debugging, but even so it still didnt work - installing the TWRP just kept bringing me back to Fastboot.
However, the TWRP from this page did work: https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomi-mi439.html
I also took no chances and held the Volume up button pressed and with the Command window open and 'fastboot reboot'typed out, hit the Enter key at the same time as pressing the Power button on the phone.
Worked for me!
Try to install PitchBlack Recovery it's very compable PBRP-pine-3.1.0 _OFFICIAL

mi439 TWRP works for me as well & even successfully flash the rom/gapps. but when it comes to rooting with Magisk, i failed to flash nor install it properly. hope someone/somebody would make a tutorial for flashing/installing Magisk.
