Some video guide on how to develop the kernel 4. xx for our Le max 2? Or if someone already knows some ROMs with that.
Heyyo, that's an insanely huge undertaking. The closest thing I know of 4.4 kernel work being done is Sony Xperia GitHub.

can anyone help me to learn a bit more than android!
I heared about compile form source and biuld form source...And I can't understand what diferences between compile from source and port! can U explain easily?
for example should I want to bring superOxygen Rom in my x10 , should I port it with cm as base or compile form source?!
thx
for short:
porting means you are making rom to your device from another device, you will be just moving libs, editing ramdisk, etc.
compiling from source means you make a complete rom from scratch including programming own drivers, libs in some situations.
If source is avaiable fot superOxygen then you can try compiling it yourself, but editing, or adding your drivers is necessary, and anyway its harder than porting, but gives better result in fact because you can program everything to make it work and you aren't dependant on binary files like in porting.
When porting, hardware should be close to one you have in your X10, because most things will not work when processor differs, wifi modules, gsm etc. You take files from any X10 rom and replace ones that are with same name in another rom (oxygen here).
Thanks very much man!
I took your advices...it was good advices but what is your idea about this:
If I port Superoxygen from Nexus1 for my x10 and (use stable AOSP as base) , then can I say I make a superOxygen Rom?
compiling from source is how much difficult?! I'm 17...! , I have a link that teach compile from source... Is it need some Knowledges that is impossible for me?!
heh, im 17 too and I don't have much knowledge, but looking on pcfighter(a gt540 developer) im impressed, hes 17 too and does a great job, so it depends on time spent and interests
when you port oxygen, you can just say that you ported and not made it. credits go to the maker and you for just making it work on x10
I'm looking now how to compile for gt540 but can't find any idea how to make it strict for gt540 compiling from source tutorials are mostly for nexus s and nexus 4g because most of are just remade of what you can find on official android developer page and its easier. For unsupported device its even harder, you have to work with what you already have and add it first to sources then ... more things to do. I'm beginner with that too, just pulled sources yesterday and looking how to make it work :] so don't expect so much help in this way :]. Just telling you overall how this looks
For compiling you need to know Java and C programing language.

@mesaj! do you know c and gava programing languge?! ofcourse I worked c++ a little...
Thanks now I also know what the difference is.
In easy terminology. Compiling a ROM is building a ROM from the source code so it means you are building a ROM from the ground up. Porting a ROM to your phones means to take a ROM built for another phone and to get it working on yours. That's the simplest way to think of it. I have in my signature a guide for compiling a ROM. Oh and I'm newly 18

Hello.
I am very keen in getting the Ubuntu Touch ported to my Xperia Z2 phone. Obviously, I'll need all the help and guidance possible.
What I currently have? developer.ubuntu.com/en/start/ubuntu-for-devices/porting-new-device/
I'm using the official porting guide as checklist. Below are what I have accomplished so far with the guide
Setup my Development Environment
Have built for Nexus with success to see if my environment is up and running (the building threw no errors, so I assume it "works", since I have no means of testing because I don't have a nexus handset)
I have added repos regarding under how to enable a new device.
I have done the first part of the Device specific changes using the check-config script, the _defconfig file in the kernel (this is Sony Xperia Z2 kernel: CyanogenMod/android_kernel_sony_msm8974 , right?)
When I did the build ( just to test so far what I've done ) I got the error that, its using the pre-compiled kernel, or something like that.
Now my questions:
How do I tell it which kernel to use, and where?
Where is the pre-compiled kernel and which is the precompiled: the one from the vendor/ (which I got from extracted binary from sony official) OR the /kernel/sony/msm8974 ?
I've gone looking around to see if I could perhaps follow the pattern used in the porting to the Xperia Z, since they're in the same series. Yet, I hardly could follow what exactly the 'porter' did. I was interested in finding answers to the 'What?', and 'Where?' of the porting done, but couldn't get solid answers.
I ask this here with the hope that, a developer who's been through the porting process will be able to offer assistance. I've been in touch with Mamenyaka, and along the lines, he'll be assisting too. But since he isn't available all the time, I ask this here.
Concerning the above list of questions, please, any assistance will be appreciated.
Its understandable, yet unfortunate, that the official ubuntu porting guide has been made to be so broad and so generic its hard to streamline what it says with a specific device. With this thread, I hope to get very specific instructions precisely tailored to the Xperia Z2 and to accommodate being extensive, instructions for the Z line series.
thanks

Hello,
if you are still working on this project:
Your Problem was not that you used the prebuilt kernel, your problem was that the script doesnt use mkabootimg correctly. For sony device you have to use another command.
Friend i would love to see ubuntu on my z2
share a link which may be helpful
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices/minato
Is it right that the kernel sources were leaked recently by someone? they seemed to have disappered, did Mediatek/Xiaomi send a DMCA request? is anyone working with these sources?
Does anyone have any links to source code of people working on AOSP ROMs for the Redmi note 2?
The only sources I know of are on Github. Just search for mt6795 and look for BalcanGSM.
I read a news article from an Italian site. It said an incomplete kernel and baseband were leaked. They said " It's completely useless for ROM developers as it's utterly missing any userspace components. The kernel sources also look very incomplete Compared to normal MediaTek source releases."
So not much use I'm afraid.
Hope that of some use
Hi! I have the BLU Energy X 2, and I am looking into building CyanogenMod from source. I have asked BLU for the source code to the kernel, but they didn't have it yet. Is this because there is some sort of grace period (maybe 1 year?) before they can release it? The phone was released in February 2016. Also, would I be able to use the Energy X kernel for my Energy X 2 CyanogenMod build? They have the same chipset, same kernel version, practically everything except the camera. If not, where can I get a prebuilt kernel that will work?
Thanks!
Well, you could always try.. However camera would definitely not work... Has nothing changed? GPU? Android kernel version??
Yes, nothing has changed.
Hi! I've been trying to build Android N for my device Lenovo Vibe X3 (x3a40). So I've managed to build the ROM but I've been facing a kernel issue. Neither the kernel works nor the recovery.
I couldn't find any help online. So I thought of asking the devs here... Kindly help me with this..
My device specs are here
Kernel source
My device runs on Snapdragon 808 SOC(msm8992). Pretty much similar to LG G4 & Nexus 5X(bullhead). So I've seen that the kernel source for these devices are tweaked for every release.
I believe I need to do some kernel tweaking so I need help from you guys as much as possible.... Please let me know what are the possible changes I need to make in my kernel source.
Thanks in Advance!
