Hello, everyone!
So, I'm thinking about picking up a USA XZ1, but wanted to confirm that the device accepts group MMS on AT&T if the FW has been flashed (enabling fingerprint). I used to have an XZ Premium, and the stock Messages app did not allow group mms atfter it was flashed. Just wanted to see if this is still an issue, as I prefer not to use Textra or find another work around for such s a basic feature.
Thanks!

Hi!
This morning I flashed my Atrix 4G with U4_2.1.1 SBF and then installed GreyBlur 2.1. So far, great experience... except when I realised that all SMS I sent using Unicode (Chinese or French characters) were stripped down from all the non ASCII chars!
I can receive and type unicode... so what's going on?
Thanks for your help!

If its anything like "emoji" I use on Handcent, the other person receiving the message has to have it installed as well. For example, if you have emoji plugin installed you will receive the emoji, if not you will receive gibberish. I know anyone with an iPhone can get the emoji w/o plugin.
Thanks
Unfortunately, I am using the stock SMS application, hasn't gotten around to try things like Handcet yet... It used to work with the original ROM (French Orange), not sure if the culprit is 2.1.1 or GreyBlur.
I seem to remember there was a setting for the charset used in SMS, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Hey all,
I've been browsing around the XDA forums for quite a while now, and normally always have been able to find a solution if not at least some relevant information to any of my issues regarding my S2.
I'm currently on Vodafone AU and have the Skype pack on my account, which allows me to use Skype via the Vodafone network rather than over data.
The problem that I am facing is that after Skype was updated to the latest version, I can no longer connect. The app (Skype on Vodafone, not the Market one) tells me 'Couldn't connect to Skype'.
The previous version of it worked just fine, however I never anticipated this problem so I did not make a backup of the old app.
From testing I have been able to get it working on the stock Vodafone ROM, but not on a Custom ROM. I am currently running Cognition S2 1.15.
I assume they coded the app in a way to verify the type of ROM that you are using so you can only connect if you are using the Vodafone ROM.
Does anyone have any idea on how to get a workaround on this issue? or for that matter does anyone out there have the previous version of the app?
I do use Skype quite often, but don't really want to use the Market Skype since that goes over metered data; and I really do not want to go back to the stock Vodafone ROM.
I've uploaded the current version of the Skype App, if someone needs it or it proves to be helpful.

If there's any extra info I can provide that I might've omitted please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any useful information in the matter.

Hey mate do you still have the problem? I have installed LeoMar ROM, but my Skype on Vodafone app works fine, also I used to have the Lite'ning ROM in wich it worked perefctly as well... I have the last app update in a Samsung GS2.
How did you install the Voda Skype app on Cognition Rom? Find that source APK and install that over.
I'm hoping this is the right place to post this.
I've just got a new Galaxy S3 and am loving it so far, but there's just one thing I'm wondering if any dev's could help with. I came from an older HTC Desire I'd rooted and was running Sandvold's ICS Beta ROM on and one of the things I really liked was being able to apply a modded MMS.apk that stopped the stock messaging app from converting a text message into an mms after 3 text messages worth of characters. I'm just wondering if there's anyone on here that's willing to create a modded version of the S3's stock messaging apk (I believe it's called SecMms.apk?) that is able to be installed on a stock S3? I'd rather hold off on rooting my new phone for a while, that's all, and it gets a little annoying when I try typing a long text message and it converts to an mms.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Hi,
I've developed an application that send and receives encrypted SMS that is called "Private Messaging".
I'm having some trouble with this application as I got some bad reviews saying that it doesn't work. Obviously, this application works perfectly for me and the people that tested it.
I think some of the problems are linked by the way the local provider are handling SMS. As I'm french, I can only test my app with my mobile operators and it works well.
I only managed to find one cause that can break my app. It's that long SMS are splitted by the mobile operator (160 standard chars max) making it undecryptable.
I mainly got reviews from brasilian users so I'm searching for brasilian people with a Windows Phone to help me fix my issues. As these issues probably concerns other people, I'm obvisously interested by as many feedbacks as I can get to fix my issues.
Thanks in advance
Hi all, we have a Verizon G2 in the home and it seems to have software differences between it and the ATT one.
In ATT you can compress video to send as an MMS by picking a video in the video app and by sharing at as a MMS message. It will tell you it's too big and if you'd like to trim it. If you click yes but then just click done without trimming, it compresses the video and attaches it successfully. (thanks greyhulk!)
I don't see this option in the Verizon version and my wife badly wants this functionality. So, can I successfully install the video and MMS apks from the ATT version onto the Verizon version? And if so how do I go about doing that? Thank you everyone!
