Hi, i've tried epic rom on my kenzo and i'm having some issues with the fingerprint.
I've installed epic_kenzo_stable_V9.1.2.0_v7.0_multi2 and epic_miui_v9_7.12.8_kenzo_7.0_global_final, and both roms only allows me to unlock via face unlock, but no fingerprint option.
My fp sensor y fpc 102x. Also tried installing agni kernel and the result is the same (in config i've selected first te option for fpc1020 and goodix)
Any help?
Download the original miui stable rom and flash it... Then again flash the epic rom..
Download the original miui stable rom and flash it... Then again flash the epic rom..
before flash, i suggest reformat data partition, and vipe dalvik/cache.

but when i flash stable rom, my bootloader doesn't lock again?
flash stable and initiate rom, or flash stable, then epic?
Bootloader will not be relocked... Just flash the stable rom in twrp... NO NEED TO BOOT IN THE ROM... THEN wipe data system and cache and flash epic rom
Or just flash the latest firmware before installing anything.

i've flashed stable miui rom, then wipe, then epic and fingerprint option doesn't appear. it's so frustrating, because i want epic but i don't want to lose the fingerprint sensor.

Hello, im having trouble getting any custom ics rom to boot after flashing any custom ics kernal, I can flash a custom kernal and load up stock ics rom but then as soon as I flash a custom rom I get stuck on the boot animation screen and the rom doesnt boot up. Does anyone have any suggestions why its doing this? its rather annoying being stuck on cm7 when ics is the way forward. Ive tried every custom ics rom and kernal and the only one that works is stock, my bootloader is unlocked, ive ran out of ideas.
if u wana flash a custom rom first flash kernel and then flash custom rom by cwm. and make a full data wipe-factory reset
and also Wipe cache and Dalvik cache before flashing the rom

Hey,man.
Since you've unlocked your bootloader,I think you are able to flash any custom roms successfully.
So,did you fully wipe after flash the kernel?
take FXP rom for example:flash boot.img inside the zip -> go to CWM and fully wipe , install the rom -> reboot and enjoy.
Before flashing a rom, you are supposed to wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache. If you are flashing roms like ExMIUI or MiniCmSandwich you will also have to wipe system.
Sent from my MiniPro using xda app-developers app
Im not new to installing custom roms, I know the procedure in installing a custom rom, the problem is no custom ics rom boots up using any custom kernal.

I do not know if this will work or not, but you can try flashing stock FTF file for your device and then go through the procedure of flashing kernel and rom again.
do wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache then go to mounts and storage and do format system
believe me I have tried everything and nothing works, cm7 works fine with a custom kernal so I dont know what the problem could be.

Did you follow the instruction:
1. flash kernel
2. go to cwm and do wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache then go to mounts and storage and do format system + delete from sd card all folders and files with dots
3. flash rom (if rom has the aroma installer follow the aroma instructions)
4. reboot phone (first boot is up to 10 minutes

Only flashing the firmware didnt do anything. Im on stock dev rom bro so the only rom flashing i know of is to flash the system.img which will delete every apps and its data and i dont want to do that. Is there any other option?

What you can do is, that you can clean flash miui,
This will take some time, but is actually much easier and somewhat fool proof.
Firstly make a back-up of data, to miui account,
Then, go to en.miui.com/download from there choose redmi note 4x and download the zip file of miui version you want. Transfer it onto an sd card or a location which can be accessed after the internal storage is wiped. Go to twrp, format data, wipe data, cache, system and dalvik. Now transfer the miui rom file to the device, or to sd card, and flash it, along with lazy flasher. Now reboot, it will say "no os installed" but just reboot. It will take some time to load, but it will boot. Now you can sign in with mi account and you can restore data.
My RN3 is still running MIUI 8.2.4.0. It has unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed. However it is not rooted.
I cannot get any OTA because of the TWRP that I have installed someone cause the OTA not to work.
I would like to now upgrade to latest MIUI which is 9.2.x.x. Can anyone advice what is the best way to do this WITHOUT losing data? Or perhaps if phone much be wiped, what is the best way to backup/restore?
Thanks.

Oh, I need to wipe data. That is what I am trying to avoid. If not other way then I just have to wipe the data. What is the best way to make sure my apps data can be restored? I know google will handle contacts, messages and whatsapp but what about apps data?

When u update the same rom then u dont need to wipe the data. Just dirty flash without wipe command.
But if u switching from miui global to xiaomi miui eu rom then u must use format data and then wipe data reset. And don't restore backup. Else u will experience crashes and bugs. Apps can be redownloaded from playstore.
Clean flash is always recommend when changing roms.

In that case, I would rather upgrade to latest MIUI global using dirty flash. Should I do this using TWRP or MIUI flash tools?

Miflash for fastboot roms. Twrp for custom roms or xiaomi eu.
Sorry for asking so many questions. I just wanted to make sure I don't brick the phone.
If I use MiFlash, will it override the TWRP that I have already installed on the phone? Will it be okay to flash using MiFlash when TWRP is already installed?

Remove your password pin pattern then wipe data system cache if you don't clean flash then you will get alot of force crashes. You can dirty flash on top of the same rom though if it's just a incremental update.
1. Remove pattern and pin. If you don't do this step then you will have to factory reset your phone with stock MIUI.
2. Wipe all except internal storage and external storage.
3. Flash vendor and rom.
4. Flash disableforceencryption with magisk 18.0.
5. Flash your twrp again so it isn't replaced by stock.

hey bro
search for MULTIROM thread
you can flash multiple roms and your primary one won't be touched or affected as long as you follow the instructions.
for me ,i always use one of miui roms as a primary ( some bugs occur if miui used as secondary )
& AOSip/ pixel experience/ ..... as secondary roms.. add as much as you want.
learn the procedure carefully then you are ready to go.

No, you are right. Only OEM ROMs which have recovery built in will replace TWRP. None of the custom ROMs to my knowledge have recovery built in. So no need to flash TWRP again unless you are flashing OEM ROMs.
Even when flashing OEM ROMs, if you flash Magisk immediately after the ROM before booting, TWRP will remain.
How to go back to MIUI A10 based ROMs from OSS Vendor based ROMs without losing decryption and data:-
* Requirements: Decrypted Storage (if not Decrypted Format data before doing those steps), MIUI A10 Stock ROM, Orange Fox Recovery (TWRP didn't work very well for me) and DFE (attached)

2. Flash MIUI ROM
3. Reboot recovery
4. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
5. Flash MIUI vendor based rom

Not fw you'll have to flash the whole rom.
You can flash any Android 10 MIUI ROM (Except Elite) . I used MIUI pulse in my case.
