Recovery is here. Roms will be here when they get here. It will be posted to this forum minutes after a custom ROM is released.

Matt4542, is working his ass off to have a surprise for you.
He probably would have it done already if he had his own phone....*hint hint (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=786576)

Sounds good, but no rush from me, would rather have good quality work. Glad you all work this hard for us.
Does anyone know if Miui Rom is in the works for the Atrix ATT?
Doubtful, solely on the basis that no actual rom can be implemented due to the locked bootloader.

Rooting 101:
Rooting Wiki
Custom ROM's 101:
Custom ROM
Okay I'm a noob and I've watched the noob video. I've tried but I just can't seem to find the answers to these questions...
I have a Bell locked SGS2. Do I have to unlock before I do any rooting?
What is the difference between flashing vs installing a custom ROM?
Are Cyanogen and MIUI roms? Are they firmware? What the heck is firmware?
Why does the Canadian guide tell me I have to download a firmware to root?
If I install this firmware (through Odin), then can I flash MIUI?
I thought I would be able to figure this out in afternoon. Guess not.
Thanks. If there's an FAQ for all this stuff that I missed, please direct me to it.
Ugh normally I would tell you to stop expecting things to get spoon fed to you, but I can't bother.
No you do not need to unlock before you root. Unlocking has nothing to do with android or system.
Flashing is the process of installing or copying a new system over to your phone. A custom rom is a rom derived from stock/manufacturer rom but altered. Be it apps removed, new kernel, or the source code was altered.
Cyanogen and MIUI roms are roms derived from google android source code but changed to make the system better. Firmware is software, it is the leader of the hardware, it tells the hardware what to do. In other words, without software, your phone cannot do anything.
Go search up on how to root, I stop spoon feeding you here. Get some independence, 13 yrs old? Great time to start developing independence. 16? Not bad, recommend you start developing now. 18? Woowhee kinda late, better late than never though. 21? Wow...
Go look at the MIUI guide to see how to install.
Google is your best friend. If you can't use it i'm sorry but this technological world is too much for you and I recommend you stick to a dumbphone or iphone.

The IMO better term for the OS running on your phone.

'cause they don't know better.
A root(able) kernel is enough already.
Just waiting on a custom kernel now that we have trwp and my phone is complete hoping dr87 will make a version of simple kernel for the g3
I believe this is just a work around so boot loader is still locked but you can flash roms

1. Yes, this is a true unlock. There is no other unlock mechanism on these phones. This is not a work-around, and calling it as such implies that there is any alternate method to use.
2. As for bricking, unfortunately we can't be held responsible for people that haven't done the legwork to verify that what they're doing is safe. We (Team Codefire) never released any mods for the G3 variants that were not unlocked in an effort to do our side of the responsibility to not make it easy for people to accidentally brick their phones. Now that recovery is released, if the end user does not ensure that TWRP functions on their device and ends up getting it in a state where the stock rom does not boot - this is 100% their problem as we were careful to ensure that all the information an informed user needs to make this work on their phones is out there.
2a. Regarding CrossDL, we actually will have a workaround for that here soon. As long as people don't touch their LAF or Factory partitions we can unbrick them from almost anything short of them editing sbl/rpm/tz partitions (which nobody should ever be doing!)
So are you implying boot loader is unlocked? Because this is similar to Loki like on the g2

This is from the Bumped thread
Is this similar to Loki?
No, you will not need to ensure your firmware version matches exactly with the ROM you have. You will only need to make sure that the ROM you downloaded is compatible with your carrier.

It's already been started by the devs that roms AND kernels will be able to be flashed as long as they are bump compatible. So yes there will be custom kernels.
As already stated here, and in other threads as well as the official Bump thread by the developers themselves, this has unlocked our bootloader. We are essentially free to flash ROMs, kernels, and other mods (provided they've been Bumped) as if this were a Nexus device. The past couple days have been a fantastic turn of events for our lovely device.
Now, am I the only one constantly checking the development threads hoping for one that has [ROM] in its title? I know we're probably weeks away, but I can't contain myself. I'll gladly donate $50 to the first developer who brings us a fully functional AOSP ROM.

Some devs were given the bump api early so they could get to working on ROM's.
There is a working CM with bugs in the works and should be released probably around the same time the bump api is released.
People are talking something as long as the developer "bumped, bumps" roms and kernels, what does that exactly means?

The roms have to be modified (aka bumped) to work with this method of flashing.

Roms don't have to be modified the boot.IMG has to be bumped so we can flash, cubed has said very simple and will share soon with the Dev so the end user has no worries.
so does anyone have anything to test yet. I am itching. I preordered a note 4 the other day now I am thinking I will be cancelling that

True unlock last time I checked the arthor of that did not have anything to do with it. Idk what makes them think its a workaround.
That's like LG saying thats an LG G3 & and your telling them no it's a fake (clone)
Who are you going to believe
Anyways it don't matter it's unlocked why are you stressing it so much? Lol
Are there any custom ROMs available for this device?

Feeling a little lazy or what? Look around. There is a custom ROM section. See anything there? We have not had a Dev who has been willing and able to take the time to make us a ROM. But please, by all means, feel free to get started. We will surely appreciate it.
