With my Max2 (with LineageOS 14.1) I recently realized when I was in an area where one could get B3 and B7 bands (screenshots taken in same area) that Network Signal Guru cell table shows only cells from the band phone is currently connected at. When I look at Network Signal Guru screenshots online, I see that there are screenshots where it can and should show mixed list of bands. It looks like the phone only makes a list of cells from the connected band, sometimes causing unoptimal results.
I tried the instructions from https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/how-to/enabled-4g-ca-p2-t3707584 and at RFNV LTE B3 CA BC CONFIG, RFNV LTE B7 CA BC CONFIG and RFNV LTE B20 CA BC CONFIG the original values were 0 and I changed them to 524356 with QXDM but it did not have any effect.
I am not exactly sure why this doesnt work? Is there another option to set at QXDM to enable this functionality? I think I should be able to see available cells because now phone stays connected to B7 until signal is very bad even when there are better cells available at B3.
Edit: I remembered that this works between bands B1 + B3 in this phone. But apparently not B3 + B7 and it does not appear that the usual RFNV LTE CA BC CONFIG is doing anything actually.
Thanks!
@kirtikhurana I know that LTE CA Matrix shows it but there is always "1 carrier". When you have CA, the LTE symbol turns into LTE+ I know this because I have a LeEco Pro3. Which works properly. I also tried to copy configuration from Pro3. It has B3 set 69 and B7 set 4. I should have 1800Mhz + 2600Mhz so that works perfectly with Pro3.
There must be something else wrong. Here is what it looks like when it works with Pro3
Well, I copied the whole RFNV folder with EFS explorer and now I can see more bands in Signal Guru but it still wouldnt connect to B3+B7 together. Trying to flash QCN of X820 was fruitless (my phone is an X829). Overalll, not a big problem but annoying. This is probably why people can't unlock B20 also, it just won't work because of something else.
Is there any progress on this? I have Le Max 2 X820 which by default aggregate only band 1+3 (working fine) so i downloaded all of the Qualcomm software and I tried do to 1+3+7(even tried 1+3+7+20) and 1+7, 3+7, 1+20, 3+20, 7+20, one by one, and literally nothing, the settings are saved properly but aggregation is impossible on other bands. Its very important for me but I ran out of ideas It must be possible because Snapdragon 820 supports all of this, but LeEco somehow stupidly set up the modem

Haven't seen any post on this, but I got AWS working on a Bell LG G2(D803)
Added band support using QPST and connected to Wind no problem.
Care to share your method?
I roughly followed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...ad-progress-please-leave-im-updating-t2871269
No need to root the phone, it goes into diag mode when you set the usb connection to PC mode.
I used 115868544 as my NV value. Not sure if you can add more bands but AWS was the only thing I was interested in.
Hi, I have tried Googling this but I still don't really know how this works.
I have a D800 that offers LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100.
However, I need LTE 1800 for 4G in New Zealand.
Since Snapdragon 800s have modems on board, can I flash the bands for D802 and get 4G?
I don't really know about this so please help.
Thanks
I didn't mess around with any of the LTE bands, only the WCDMA bands.
I have tried changing WCDMA and LTE bands on my VZW VS980 being used on ATT network.
After several attempts, under different Roms and Kernels, I have been unsuccessful in changing either.
1877 NV value can be changed but leaves phone unusable while 6828 NV value changes do not stick after reboot.
If anyone has been successful in getting VZW branded G2 activated on ATT, please let know.
Here is a thread that has lot of information... Most of the changes, I found are reversible. So go at it...

Anandtech mentions it is LTE-A Category 12 (600 Mbps)
Some sites mention it is Category 6 (300 Mbps)
So what is it exactly?
With the new Non-HLOS.bin shipped with 17 S, there ist no cat 6 LTE , only 150 Mbit cat 4. The + sign at 4G sign doesnt appear
So should I go back to Indian 16S ? I am aware Indian 17S or 18S is on the verge of getting officially released. I prefer the Chinese 17S because battery is absolutely brilliant after removing the bloat. Indian 16S has horrible battery and standby time.
How to check the LTE-A ? I'm on CN 16s, in Malaysia (CA Band_3_7).
Whenever my phone show 4G+, then phone signal will drop for total no signal, can't call or data (Searching mode)

CN 16s and older ROMS are worthless for LTE. Try with Indian 16S.

Cannot tell as my operator is going to start CA soon in my area. People are saying that Indian 16S supports CA while Chinese 17S and below do not support CA.

If you get a chance please post your modem version. Thanks.
Snapdragon 820 has X12 modem (category 12 LTE up to 600 Mbps). I have had 4G+ for ages (in Japan on OCN Mobile One, an MNVO on the docomo network). However, as it is an oversubscribed MNVO my speeds are never great and even when getting a CA (4G+) signal they don't really change. My current firmware baseband version is as per this screenshot:

Unfortunately even on the same base chipset some of the radio params are up to the OEM, depending on what band combinations LE have programmed CA may work with some networks and not with others (eg OCN might be using 20Mhz x2 in 800Mhz while ThreeUK might be using 1x 15Mhz on 1800Mhz and 1x 15Mhz in 800Mhz).

Yes, obviously availability of CA depends on carriers and on the LTE bands available to the device. Not all bands are turned on for our device so some people some places are going to be SOL. In the case of OCN the carrier aggregation is probably working with bands 1 & 3 I guess (the other bands OCN use are 19 & 21, which are not available on the LeMax 2).

Ok so far then:
272-05 Three Ireland B3, B20, B8 Not Working
272-01 Vodafone Ireland B3, B20, B8 Not Working
440-10 OCN Japan (NTT) B1, B3, B19, B21 Working
Probably should just google what bands CN Mobile use for CA, that'll be the only thing LeEco will bother to implement in the baseband.

CA is strange. My friend has a Moto Z Play he bought direct from Motorola Japan. He is using OCN, same as me. His Z Play has the same available OCN LTE bands as my LeMax 2 (B1 & B3) and Motorola say it is CA compatible, but while I get 4G+, he doesn't. And another friend has a Japanese version ASUS Zenfone 3 and he gets 4G+ on another MNVO using same docomo network with B1 & B3. So it seems to be a bit of a lottery depending on your device & your region & carrier.

Compatibility isnt straightforward as its also dependent on resource blocks or RBs. Some radios can handle CA 2x 2x20Mhz and some might only manage 2x 2x10Mhz. Thats why reading the RRC messages between tower and handset is useful as OEMs dont release the full config that their UEs broadcast.
Snapdragon 820 aggregates 3 frequencies (3CC). I never managed to force him to do it, but 2 can (2ca).
My MI PAD 4 LTE has this strange behavior:
- When WIFI is on and connected the tablet shows 4g connection indicators
- When WIFI is off I have "no signal" on the 4g connection
Some additional info:
1 - I'm on latest China Stable ROM (MIUI 9.9.26.0)
2 - I've tested the simcard in another android phone and 4g works flawlessly
3 - I've checked for IMEI blocking here in Brazil and my MI Pad 4's IMEI is or blocked
Any ideas or suggestions?
Hello fsworm,
I have a MI PAD 4 with LTE, too. There was a fake-Rom GLOBAL 9.6.7.0.0 installed (BANGOOD) to my PAD4.
Same effect as yours. SIM-Cards German O2 and German VODAFONE
Login to networks is not possible.
Same effect witch XIAOMI.EU - ROM 18.10.8 and MIUI stable China 9.6.27.0
Any Idea? Have you reached something?
Same problem, MIpad 4 LTE cannot access mobile network
I have the same problem. MI pad 4 LTE from China in use in the UK, it does not seem to register with the network provider, hence no access to mobile data.
The device comes from China and I have not unlocked it or changed the Rom.
Any idea?
Thanks!
Same here.
I AM in Portugal and i cant connect LTE without WiFi.
This is China ROM.
Stable version .
Any help?
mipad frequenties
I've the same problems. It seems that not all bands are covered like they should. When I go to another location I have connection, but it should also connect on my home adress.
The tablet came with the fake global rom and unlocked which I even didn't started. I've flashed first official chinese rom with fastboot - installed twrp - format data - installed eu rom MIUI 10.2 8.10.25. Everything works except the network. That's really the only thing I find really negativ on this tablet.
The used frequenties for mipad 4 plus should be :
4G LTE-64GB+128GB B1 (2100), B3 (1800), B5 (850), B7 (2600), B8 (900), B38 (TDD 2600), B39 (TDD 1900), B40 (TDD 2300), B41 (TDD 2500)
There is really something wrong with the software of this pad.
-deleted the other frequenties as they are wrong - information provided to me was wrong

So, with the EU ROM you also have problems with LTE network?
wtf, i think i will sell my Mi Pad
I am in Austria with China Stable Rom 9.6 and for me works Lte without enabled Wifi,no Problems with it
I have such a strange behavior last year with my Mi6 in Croatia.. As soon as I crossed the border to Croatia, I lost any signal.. Only with Wifi it showed connected.. But when we were at Zadar (~4hours) it suddenly had LTE connection.. I dont know why it didnt work before, but since that I have no problem

Related to mi pad 4 plus network not working
Its simple...since this mi pad 4 plus is LTE version... first u have to subscribe 4g in the sim card using ur phone (cellular device) . After that u can insert it in ur mi pad 4 plus...and it works.

So -just to be clear about what you say here- installing the Global Rom does not solve the issue of stability of mobile data? Have you also unlocked the device?
Because in that case I would spare myself the trouble of getting the Global Rom if it does not solve the issue...
Thanks

Correct - I was misinformed by a website that said that mipad 4 had these frequenties which was not correct. It is however really negative that there is no band 20.
Same problem, i have only signal with Wifi on (but can't use 4G), i use last xiaomi.eu rom
With wifi off, 4G is off
Someone can feedback xiaomi.eu team ?
Probably need upgrade for network driver
P.S : French network Bouygue Telecom, if i use huawei 4G router, the simcard work
@Asgardcfr 4g is off and you wonder why 4g is not working??? Really?
No you don't understand, when i switch off Wifi, i have no service in 4G but 4G is, of course, is ON.
It's probably a bug ...
After having plus model for almost two months and using it all over the country my conclusion is that LTE data does work when wifi is switched off. But.....
This tablet support only B3 band (1800MHz) and range and coverage of that band is usually worst than B20 band (800MHz). Everywhere. Add to that not exactly great reception of the tablet and the result is that with wifi on, tablet always shows network signal even if it actually isn't connected to a network. With wifi off, that is not happening and data does not work since it can't use B20 or 3G or anything else. But moving with it in area with 1800MHz coverage I do get signal and 4G label and data works again.
This was driving me crazy also, and I couldn't find an explanation why does it sometimes work and sometimes doesn't but after 1693758935 checks with Network Signal Info on different locations......
With wifi on but no B3 signal
a lot of bars but it's not even connected to the network
With wifi off but no B3 signal
zero bars, as it should be in the first case also. since it's not on the network
and outside of the house, wifi off but in range of B3 signal
......and connected to bonbon network

This is plausible, and makes sense, but the question is can it be fixed easily? Is it possible to modify the band?
Just to add: got my tab yesterday and put my Vodafone data sim in it - 4g/LTE worked perfectly well to download my apps etc, I got home and added Wi-Fi which was flawless.
Today I left my house with my tab in my bag and realised data is no longer working, after reading this thread it seems connecting to Wi-Fi has been a big factor.
Only adding this info as my data was working perfectly well before I'd connected to Wi-Fi initially.
I'd love a solution! Thanks
Ok as a pretty persistent person I may have found a solution - I am posting this response on LTE but this may be a premature shout!
I cleared all network settings using the usual menu, restarted the tab, connected to WiFi, turned wifi off then went to 'mobile networks', deselected the automatic network selection then manually scanned for and connected to Vodafone LTE. (Edit: wifi may have been on when scanning available mobile networks)
This seems to work. Since; I have reconnected/disconnected WiFi and restarted my Tab... LTE still working.
Hope this is a permanent solution for someone, so far so good here.
IMO, the only bug here is that with wifi on it shows network signal that it can't use while that does not happen with wifi off. But other than that, 1800 LTE works regardless of wifi status.
I got the H901 T-mobile locked off ebay about two years ago. I moved to India recently for work and will stay for a year. As a tmo customer i was able to permanently unlock it using the app it came with before i left the US. I bought a local sim card (Reliance Jio 4G) which uses 4G only (voLTE for calls and data). I checked the frequency bands before getting this sim and it supported 2 of the 3 bands. My problem is that it wont take to the network? (If there is a similar thread please link me to it).
Jio LTE Bands -
FD-LTE B3 (1800 +) (Supported by v10)
FD-LTE B5 (850) (Supported by v10)
TD-LTE B40 (TD 2300) (Unsupported)
I think T-mobile mostly used the 2100 band for LTE in the US. Does this mean that my phone is not taking to the 1800/850 bands or is the cell phone provided not broadcasting over them and just using the 2300 band which is unsupported by my phone?
1) Found the service code *#546368#*901# played around with the bands. (Bands 2, 3, 5 and 20 were a success on this network even though only bands 5 & 3 are supported that was weird) - No luck getting 4G
2) Then forced Band 5 & 3 cause those are my only true options and did rat selection as LTE only. - No luck getting 4G
3) Kept above settings same and went to APN. Saw missing APN and googled the settings. - Success! 4G but no text/calls active.
Trying to figure out how i can get voLTE on this now.
I found a work around with an apk from the service provider that handles calls and texts using LTE. But still cannot text or call using v10's voLTE feature. If anyone knows why i'd like to know. Otherwise, this thread can be closed.

https://www.electronics-notes.com/a...m-evolution/4g-lte-carrier-aggregation-ca.php

Mi 9 thread (I've started from):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/how-to/carrier-aggregation-mi9-t3909824
Captured CA Combinations as offered by Xiaomi Mi 9T modem, with Global/EU firmwares (probably, also Russian), while attaching to 4g:
https://cacombos.com/device?model=M1903F10G
Somebody with Chinese or Indian MIUI could also capture and upload to see a potential differences - HowTo instructions are priovided on the CA Combos site
Apps like Network Cell Info Lite, LTE Discovery, Net Monitor Lite, Net Monster could at best show if using LTE+ but cannot unveil Aggregated Carriers.
To see them, use Network Signal Guru:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qtrun.QuickTest
Root required, you don't need to pay for Ultimate Service but the app for free is of no use with dual SIM - disable SIM 1 or SIM 2
Screenshots below show three Aggregated Carriers: the so-called combo 20A2-3A2A-1A2 (Primary b3, Secondary b1 and b20), aggregating non-contiguous intra-band 20+20+15 MHz , on Mi 9T, stock QFJEUXM 11.0.5 (no QPST modding needed to get it working)
I have used SIM 2, and it was with the provider who supports exactly those three 4g bands: b1, b3 and b20.
For the test I disabled WiFi and SIM 1 (provider supporting only b3 and b20 - will test later), and for download started to play an HD movie by YouTube Vanced (to be able to push it to the background)
I don't know how would Aggregated Carriers work with CN or IN firmwares if used e.g., also here in Europe.
Also, if and how custom ROMs support LTE+ Aggregated Carriers - but one could test himself
Of course, it also depends on your 4g provider, potentially your Mobile Internet subscription and the available 4g bands at the given time and location
Another example with my SIM 1, different Mobile provider, providing only two 4g bands, b3 and b20
Here I got CA combo 20A2A-3A2-3A2 (Primary cell on b20, two Secondary cells on b3), aggregating non-contiguous intra-band 15+20+10 MHz
