I used this to flash the nexus tv rom and now im having issues reverting back to the stock rom
I downloaded the image MECOOL M8S PRO SD 20170817.zip but when i try to flash it via TWRP i get an error: "this package is for "M8SPRO" devices l this is a "q201_N"" i saw one post that talked about reinstalling twrp to fix this but where do i get that image from? the m8s pro isnt listed in their devices list.
I also tried an OEM OTA updates with the fixed update script like this: http://freaktab.org/5d1306cce48f4c3b
but that just give me a new error
file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory
i just bought a new one then returned the bricked one, in case anyone else runs into this problem and wonders how i fixed it

Hey guys,
Running a rooted oneplus x with latest cyanogenmod (CM) nightly installed. I tried updating the latest nightly and got the following error:
updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/cm-13.0-20161101-NIGHTLY-onyx.zip'
- I had CM recovery installed, and was getting the same error.
- I tried to update the CM recovery but I get the same error.
- I managed to install TWRP 3.0.2.0 recovery, and still no luck. Same error.
- Tried installing the latest Oxygen OS (downloaded from their site) and still same error.
- As per other forums, I've tried editing the updeater-script and still no luck. I deleted the first line, then saved and zipped. When I try to flash with that it says "can not find updater-script" even though I put the file type back to the way it was, and in the same spot.
any thoughts?
thanks!
You can try to change ONE to ONEPLUS in updater-script, do not delete the lines just change one to oneplus & then try to flash with twrp.
Same answer as in OP forum :
Before flashing, you should have done that.

Now, if it doesn't work, it can be quite complicated....
Try updating the TWRP or use CM recovery

I have an ascend mate 2. I have unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP 3.1.1 and have updated my bios via Huawei site and currently have Android 5.1. I have tried uploading CyanogenMod 13 and lineage 14. Both times I get error 7 when uploading. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am experiencing the same issue. I did the advance wipe from TWRP 3.1.1 and install lineage 14. It stucks and gave this error message "This package supports bootloader(s) MSM8226C00B322_BOOT; This device has bootloader unknown. ". I had B322 built and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on my Huawei Ascent Mate 2. I read from other forum and even tried to modify the line "assert(getprop("ro.bootloader") == "MSM8226C00B322_BOOT" || abort("This package supports bootloader(s): MSM8226C00B322_BOOT; this device has bootloader " + getprop("ro.bootloader") + ".");" in the file updater-script under META-INF\com\google\android directory and still not working. Please help
I am getting the same error. Full wipe of the device except for internal storage as I do not currently have a microSD card inserted (it's being used in my new phone, an S7 edge). I bought a new microSD card and used that to restore the stock ROM.
Exact text, copied from recovery.log:

Edit: So, I just reinstalled the stock ROM, B322, with no problems. Then I flashed TWRP 3.1.0, again, with no problems.
But I keep getting error 7, and it keeps saying that "this device has bootloader unknown". What gives? I can't stand the ridiculously large UI elements of the stock ROM, so I'm not going back to that.
EDIT: Alright, so I think I fixed it. Simply remove the "asserts" line from update-script in the ROM zip that deals with the bootloader (leave the device line if you wish) and it should work.
I used the instructions in this thread.
I'm new to Android Boxes, got myself a MECOOL KI PRO box and I'm trying to get a new ROM onto it since the regular MECOOL one sucks.
I spotted a VITMOD ROM which is the Android TV OS for the KI, so I've got the .ZIP onto the USB and used the UPDATE app on the box to perform a local update. It sees the update and it reboots into starting the update. It takes me to the Android recovery screen and tries to update but it says:
Verifiying update package
E: Footer is wrong
E: Signature Verification failed
E: error: 21
Installation Aborted

I read that it may be because I need to use TWRP, so I found a recovery.img for S905X and attempted to put that on the USB and go into recovery, however it hangs on the boot up logo and can't get into TWRP, but goes into the regular Android Recovery fine.
Ah managed to work it out
My Mac was unzipping the file every time I downloaded it, so I was manually zipping it back up onto the USB.
I just figured that unzipping and zipping would break the verification and it's worked now!
Where do you found the recovery.img
Hello i have the same problem in Windows and i don't have unzip anything. Where do you found the recovery.img and how we do please ? Thanks
Hello,
I was wondering if some could help me please. I wanted to flash RR Rom 6.0 on my BLA-L09(I think that what's it is) phone.
I was able to unlock my boot loader, and flash TWRP my device but my dumb s*** flashed TWRP to my file system use FLASH SYSTEM instead of FLASH RECOVERY. Now, I can't fix it ?. I know I can use sideload so I'm not panicking just yet however I know I messed up the file system.
Could someone tell me what file system system I should be using (fat, exfat, ext4, etc...) and what to do to get this think to boot backup.?
I've tried and side loading "update_full_BLA-L29_hw_la.zip" stock ROM but no luck... I keep getting this error message:
"check_write_data_to_partition,write data error
Update_huawei_pkg_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed
Updated process ended with error: 9"
HELP.!!!

If you find anything, let me know.!
Just boot to fastboot, flash RR to system and TWRP to recovery_ramdisk?
I have a Chinese version MI Box. Model: MDZ-09-AA (AK). And I want to flash with US version firmware. I downloaded the rom and booted into recovery mode and when update, it showed me an error message with "signature verification failed". Then I tried to root it via RootKing, but after multiple tries, I still can't manage to install it successfully - it just ended with installation failure message. Am I missing anything here? Can someone give some pointers? Thx
The rom I used: http://en.miui.com/thread-323779-1-1.html
Can someone help?
