Did you try the obvious solutions like using a different USB cable and a different USB port on your computer?

I am running Bamf 2.0 Android version 2.3.4, HTC sense version 2.1,with Imoseyon kernel version test 7.
I can not get my windows computer to see the phone. There appears to be a driver issue. I have tried everything I could find on this issue and nothing has worked. Please help!
Alan
Yeah I have been having the same issue installs everything when plugged in except MTP driver for the device which will not allow you to properly mount the phone to access sd card. Have been looking for hours and have not been able to find anything either.
Some people have proposed a solution in the BAMF thread of selecting the Internet passthrough when plugging in, letting it install drivers, then try to mount.

Still nothing still says I am missing MTP driver
I think its an issue with the kernel.

Where do we get kernals?
Try updating to the 2.0.4_1 release. It fixed the issue for me with not being able to connect to PC, then connect as internet passthrough let it sit for a good 3 min then switch to disk drive

Kernel Manager is one option. But there are various threads in Development that have kernels for flashing. Just download one of them and flash it.

Just to make sure you all know.. there are only a couple working GB kernals so dont go grabbing anyone and flash it.

Did this and I was able to connect as internet passthrough .... but when I tried to mount the sd card it still didn't work.
I really like to mount the sd card to change out the music on my phone, not a deal breaker but bummed I can't figure this out.
Alan
press intertnet passthrough and then immediately switch to mount disk drive

Hey guys,
I have been having trouble copying my music to my SGS2. I have been trying to copy about 2000 songs, but about 10-15% of the way through the files, something just seems to freeze up and nothing more will copy after that point. I thought that copying a smaller amount at a time might fix the problem, but it keeps doing it, and it's not a specific song that seems to be causing the problem.
So I guess my questions are what is the problem and what can I do about it? I'm not sure whether my SD card is borked, or whether my phone is borked (I hope not!) or whether my PC or Kies are at fault.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Just try to copy/paste the same file to your Internal SD and post back. Besides why are you using Kies for it, it can be done normally!
Tried to copy the "normal" way. Got an error message along the lines of "the device has been disconnected or stopped responding." I guess we know something is wrong now.
At what mode are you connnecting, Phone or Mass Storage? And is your PC too old and doesn't have USB 3.0?
Sometime when the screen gets locked by the "screen time out" this might happen
Generllay what I do is to set screen time out to 10 mins and then work with kies
Screen Lock time has nothing to do with Kies or PC connection IMO, mine is always set at 30 secs, and NO problem with connection with Kies, let alone with PC.
Regards.
Hmm, I think the problem is definitely with my phone. Have tried everything - USB mass storage option and what have you. Still always fails on meafter a few files are copied. I/O device errors and the like.
I think the problem is in your OS, not phone. Make sure it's running okay, try to connect other USB devices and see if you have the same prob or not.
Regards.

I have been using the USB ports on the front of my PC case. Should I try the ones at the back of my PC?
I am running Windows 7 (32 bit) if that helps.

instead of USB try MTP mode and see
same in MTP as well
Try ticking "USB debugging mode", that will make your phone storage recognisable by the computer as actual drives instead of virtual drives. If that doesnt work try mock locations, I heard that can solve some problems if theyre on the computer end.

Me too having the same problem ...Is it solved or yet to be solved ??
Are You rooted?
Give full info about phone...
Problem could be with your Cable or USB Port.
Try changing USB Ports.
If you are Confident about USB Port working well.
Then Try changing a Cable. Always Use original One. And Dont use large cable as it would just Decrease the data Speed.
Hope it helps, Cheers
Peace
Hit Thanks & It will Disappear

I am not quite sure but if you are on a custom rom sometimes some problems like this exist. But if the stock firmware donno whether its the Software error or the cable. So just try update cable with another one.
To help you more I need some more details. So that I can help u
Do you realise you just necroed a 9 mth old thread ?
hi. the problem im having is that i cant connect my phone to transfer files such as music and photos. i can use apps like airdroid and kies but want to discover the problem and have an easier way off organizing my files from computer to phone.
i recently flashed cm-9-20121209-NIGHTLY-galaxys2.zip then installed gapps-ics-201204929-signed.zip from internal storage.
thats the only two things i have done.
a window used to pop up when i plugged in the usb and it would also appear on 'MyComputer' folder. but neither happen now. I still get the connected sound when i connect the phone. I have tried different usb slots on my computer and have tried turning my phone off and on and rebooting it.
do i need a special driver for the cyanogenmod rom? thats the only thing i can think of!
anyone have any suggestions?
thanks
Hy everyone!
I have problem with my samsung galaxy tab P7500..it wont recognize my usb. in notification bar shows that is connected but it is not. there is no folder od something with my usb staff. it worked fine, and then just stopped. i dont know why
before, when i connected usb, tab opened a folder of usb, but now nothing..
did i miss something? where did i get wrong??
please heelp!!
P.S. sorry for my english
Switch to a different USB port. It seems like a stupid answer, but it is a common problem. Switching from the form factor USB ports (front panel) to the board mounted ports (rear panel) or visa-verse often works.
i know this may be an old post but here goes, i have the same problem, my PC tells me that the drivers for my tab are installed but i can not see it in my PC.
i connected it to different USB ports but still i can not see it.
i tried turning the debugging on/off still to no successes.
7500 tab, cyanogenmod 4.0.4 (9 nightly )

Try unistalling kies and the Samsung drivers, restart the pc and just install the driver. See if that works.

i don't have kies and i have uninstalled the samsung drivers, restarted my PC but still nothing.

Okay, I just googled your problem... Try removing the device from device management (sorry, it was a Dutch site, translation might be different) in Windows. Then reconnect it.

Then I only have 2 more options available before I run out of ideas.
1) did you enable mtp under the storage options on your tab?
2) your USB cable might be defective. Try a different cable.

Hi
Hope somebody could help me.
my tab is p7500. official ics and rooted. i try to connect usb otg and it working by showing "USB connector connect" .
I can connect it with 1gb flash drive. But when i connect with 2 gb flash drive or higher, the tab will show "High-power usb device connected. cannot access to this device".
why it show like that? is the tab only can access flash drive with 1gb memory and below? or there is some setting that need to be done if want to connect with higher than 1gb flash drive?
Please see the picture attach...

I can't believe that the p7500 wouldn't support flash memory over 1gb. I've heard of people using a USB hub that has it's own power supply for OTG.

I like to just share a PC drive or folder on my network, then us ES File Explorer to find the video on your network and stream it over wifi to MX player on the droid. It's a little technical to set up, but a good thing to know.
