I have a Samsung S7 Active G891A running 7.0 and found what I thought was a good root for it. I ran Odin and flashed the G891A_ENG_ROOT_B2_QB2_7.0, everything went good and it restarted. I noticed it said Custom on the boot screen and it came up normal. I went to install Superuser from Google play store and it does not detect root access. I am also getting the Security Log Agent notice about Unaurthurized actions detected. When I reboot it says installing update and then boots on up. Am I missing something? I really need root so I can run my Hotspot with unlimited data since that is our current internet. It worked great with my S5 and I was getting 4-5mbps before I switched phones. Amy help would be greatly appreciated, I have been a Technology Director for local school district for 20 years so I'm tech savvy but Windows is a lot different than Android lol.
I figured out what the problem was!
I didn't have the OEM Switch on, I now have a rooted AT&T G891a S7 Active running Android 7.0. I also downloaded the tetherprovisioning.apk cracked and replaced mine so that my Hopspot is working with Cricket unlimited Internet. WooHoo

Hello
I signed up for this sole purpose since I simply cannot find the solution anywhere. (Either outdated, or I suck at googling).
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, GT-N7105. My data connection disconnects once I connect to a Wifi network.
I noticed this only two days ago, where I was on the custom rom Beanstalk 4.3.1 for the note 2. I contacted my telco (Singtel), they did what they could. Still the same. This is accompanied by deprival of google services, like youtube and the play store, where both say network connect error or no network. I thought this could be a problem with my rom, so I flashed a new one. (Clean!). On to ParanoidAndroid. No diff. Now I'm back on stock firmware, unrooted. I still have this problem. Is this normal and me just being stupid? I admit that I'm very new to the android scene having just converted from iOS. Still, I've done whatever I could. (Airplane mode, battery pull, stuff.)
I could live with the data connection thing, but it irks me when the said apps don't work, y'know? I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance
Hello all, I'm hoping someone can shed a little light on an "interesting" problem I'm having with my new phone. This may be my first post on here, but I have scoured this and other forums trying to come up with an answer but alas have found nothing, so here goes:
I am currently using Simple Mobile which operates on T Mobile's network. I have near-perfect signal at home but can't seem to use the damned thing for Facebook, Tapatalk, Zynga games, internet, etc without my interent connection timing out on me. I recently switched from Comcast to Dish Network and no longer have wifi at home so this is killing me.
This phone screams on wifi, and it seemingly works fine everywhere else via my data connection except at home. I normally show an H or an E at home. From what I understand T Mobile is replacing all of its edge circuits with HSPA+, so I'm thinking they just haven't got around to upgrading the tower closest to my house as of yet. I decided to get my girlfriend prepaid service on T Mobile with that $30 per month 5GB plan through Walmart and slapped the sim in my old Motorola Defy and it works great. However, if I put that same sim in my phone I'm back to square one with the same data connection problems, so I know this is not a problem with Simple Mobile (plus like I said as long as I am not at home my phone works well, too.).
So here's the real kicker -- if I use the PDANet+ app on my phone and turn on the wifi hotspot, it works just fine when I connect using my home desktop computer! This is so aggravating, why would I time out with my data connection for my own phone but as a hotspot it work flawlessly??? I'm pretty close to giving up on T Mobile because what good are they if I can't get a data connection on the phone itself at home?
Also I should mention that all of the APN settings are definitely correct. Perhaps there is a baseband selection that I can't find somewhere in the Blu Studio 5.0 d530 that may help (I know there's one in the Motorola Defy). Maybe it's because T Mobile recognizes that my phone is not a T Mobile branded phone (but the Defy IS), and if so, how can they push the whole "bring your own phone" thing so hard?
In any event, I may try just switching to Straight Talk but I really don't want to go through the hassle of porting my number and all that -- plus I'm not sure how good their signal is in my area. A search online for closest cell towers to my address results in T Mobile by a longshot.
Any help is appreciated, guys -- I'm frustrated to no end here.

Use Google Translate, if needed. Basically it just says that is the stock 4.1.2 rom with no carrier bloat.
I bought a note 2 running on us cellular but whenever you call out or do anything calling related verizons automated voice comes on. I bought the phone for 50 bucks and its 9/10 condition so i figured if i cant get it to work the phone its self works perfectly. But now that i invested around 8 or 9 hours trying to figure out why i cant do anything and why verizon comes on a US cellular phone. But If anyone could help me out it would be great. The phone is indeed rooted running 4.4.2 and i have acess to supersu and i have CWM 6.0 something. Any ideas?

Hi guys,
I know this is an old phone but I just got an old Verizon g2 off eBay to play with because it is easy to run the apps that I'm wanting to run with it. The only problem is that my service sucks now. I got an AT&T straight talk card and am using it but with it I will have 4glte one second and then it'll have no service whatsoever the next. Also when I loose service my phone number and everything disappears from about phone tab. I've tried as many different apns as I could find. What would be the best was of fixing this problem. I monitored my signal to see what happened when I lost it and it said possibly an escfb issue. The phone is a Verizon vs980, running 5.0.2, rooted and busybox. The only other things that I have done to the system besides install some root apps (mostly protesting) is change the system file on hotspot provisions so I can use the hotspot without Verizon. Thanks for the help guys
So the phone itself, as stated is a MetroPCS branded Alcatel One Touch Fierce XL, and according to metro it is in fact UNLOCKED. It is on the latest update of the stock rom from metro I believe (Android Lollipop 5.1.1 ). so that, as far as i can tell is not the complete issue however I'm wondering if it being from metro is contributing to the issue at hand. I am using Mint Sim/Mint Mobile, they have amazing coverage in my area that I myself experienced for a week, so I'm almost positive it is not a coverage issue. Now down to the bare bones of the problem:
I got this phone about two weeks ago now, bought it in "unlocked" "New, Other" Condition on eBay from the seller Cellfeee. Had to use the unlock app when I got it but it went through fine, with no issues. Fast forward I activate my new sim, put it in the phone and experience great coverage for about a week and a half. Phone was lovely. Fast forward more, around 8:30 pm on August 29 2018 I lost service completely. Start journey into google. I have done the following:
Taken out the sim
restarted the phone
tried the sim in other devices
factory reset the phone
rooted the phone, removed metro apps and apn
done *#4636# I don't know how many times
messed with every mobile and wifi setting possible
the only time I have gotten service back was last night around 10, the phone had no wifi connection and it seemed to pick up a very strong signal that faded while i watched.
I have determined that It is NOT the sim card, I have determined it is most likely not the hardware, the only thing left that I can think of is either the ROM or the modem firmware itself. My question is, do any of you think that flashing a custom rom onto the phone could cure this? is there a way to find the most recent stable firmware for the modem and update/downgrade it to that? I've already cut my losses and bought a new phone through alcatel on their amazon link so it's not like i'm completely screwed but honestly I'm so irritated with this phone and I just want concrete answers/results at this point. any suggestions welcome. thank you for your time.
Edit: The service provider in the top corner was mint while the phone was working. after it began to fail it switched to either no service OR metropcs, now it often says metropcs even when no service don't know if this makes a difference
