I deleted my previous Xperia Companion using Iobit Uninstaller. (Deleted the files in its folder and deleted some registry keys.) I installed Xperia Companion again using the installer from the Sony website. It claims that it finished the installation successfully. I see the below window.

When I click Launch, nothing happens. When I click Close, there is no icon for opening the program anywhere. There should be a fresh icon that appears on my desktop, right? Nope. Also, when I browse to the old location where the software used to be installed, it's empty:
So, what the hell? What can be done now?
programfiles(x86) ?
please check C:\Programfile\
i believe xperia companion is 64bit now....
Hmm I checked on my other PC (Win 7, 64x), which is the computer where Xperia Companion works just fine, and there are Sony folders in both C:\Program Files and in C:\Program Files (x86). But the main files are still in the (x86) directory. The shortcut to launch the app points there, and I can see the .exe plus a bunch of other stuff in that directory.

I have SDK Manager installed and I know it was working when I rooted. My guess is SDK Manager won't load now because I'm using 2.3.4 software on my phone and need to upgrade SDK Manager to that same version per say. I've gone to the following website: http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.3.4.html and it says I need to install SDK again and it prompts me to install Java SE but I don't see my windows version of XP Professional 32 Bit. Bottom line, how can I get my ADB running again.

My goal is to ADB push these files: htc_pin_asset_rest.png and htc_pin_asset_pressed.png to my phone which are the dialer png's. Any help would be great.
Here's a preview on dialer buttons I'm trying to push.
Isn't Windows x86 the same as a 32-bit Windows operating system? The files listed don't seem to care if its XP, Vista, or 7.

In the Firmware Selection dialog, check that the "Select source folder" option is pointing to the right folder:

I had the exact same issue. It was resolved for me when I made sure the ftf file was a complete download (it had interrupted and I did not notice)
Hi all. I have just bought an xperia mini pro sk17i (firmware .58) and i am trying to root it using this thread indications: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409269
I am defenitley stuck at point 1: 1. Make sure you have installed adb drivers (If you don't know ADB installation use any of these links LINK 1 , LINK 2 )
I did everything that was written in LINK 1 but no adb driver has been installed. I have currently the device connected to the pc through usb and the device manager of windows 7 is like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I tried to tell windows the driver is in the folder "google usb driver" (i downloaded this archive:www.mediafire.com/?xt1dmy3iz8humgb) but no way ... any help?!?!
EDIT: since the first time i have connected the device to the pc i did not launch PC Companion i re-did everything from the beginning but this time i told the phone to install PC Companion. The result is that now i can see the xperia mini pro in windows'7 device manager like this:
. I hope this is a good sign ...
Hello, I have .200 update available for my Z2, but I am rooted and I want to pack my own ftf and make my own flashable zip, as I always did(to keep my customization number because I don't want to install a firmware with another customization number), so, as always, I download the update from PC Companion and select to install it later when the download is done. Usually, the update is in C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\*some numbers*\blob_fs, but the problem is that I can't find the .200 update there. Did Sony changed the download location for the phone updates?
Yes, now the FILESET_XXXXXXX files are located on: C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\localstorage\13740280 or some number that may change.

Ok, thank you, I've found it a few minutes ago, and I've excluded simlock and the other two .ta files.
I'm wanting to try flash my Xperia 1 firmware to the generic uk as I don't seem to be able to enable WIFI calling on the phone,
I've been reading over tutorials etc and downloaded Flash tool, This loads fine execpt when I click on xperifirm to download the firmware.
The xperifirm part just opens and closes instantly:
Error log shows this:
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "org.system.ProcessBuilderWrapper.getStdOut()" because "<local4>" is null
at org.util.XperiFirm.run(Unknown Source)
at gui.tools.XperiFirmJob.run(Unknown Source)
at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:63)
I've downloaded xperifirm seperately and when attempting to open I get this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I click yes it says failed to get update location and errors out.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong here or why xperifirm doesn't like me ? I've tried it on two different computers (both windows 10 installs) but neither appear to like me.
Disabled windows defender / firewall etc also but to no avail. Tried installing latest JRE but also no dice.
Is there something obvious I'm missing ?
Thanks
