Have you gone messages>settings?
While in messaging there should be settings option
If not, try settings>apps>settings>default apps....
problem arises due to the fact it's not present in messages>Settings or messages> settings>more settings as it's been in previous versions.
didn't see anything under default apps from poking around quickly in it either.

I have a problem with some themes giving me Yellow Text on white background for the replies I get from my texts - makes it impossible to read - had to be careful about which themes I use - funny but when I looked at waht the theme said messages look like - it is not at all what I got (for the colors that is)
Forced me to use a messing ap from GoOGLE but then that doesn't get themed by the Samsung Theme I am using - oh the growing pains of using a new phone -

Found a work around. Turns out the theme I used on my s8+want updated. Developer however released a new version supporting the newer Samsung experience. So long story short I shelled out another buck fifty for a decent looking messaging app. Still though wish I could just change the background to a simple black or gray.

I found a free messaging app that offers lots of great themeing options including background - bubbles - and more. The ap is called "mood" on google play and it works great. no Ads, You are not forced to register with MOOD but you can - and it seems to work great. You can even customize text bubbles by contact or text thread -

Weave. Just had to go with the one posted 2018 vs the older one previously posted to the theme store.
I notice that resizing in conversations doesn't stick anymore. I'd use pinch to zoom to make a conversation bigger, but if back out and open conversation again the text resets

hey I'm new here and I just got a Samsing Vibrant. first android phone and I'm loving it. I rooted it and it's just getting better and better... I just wanted to know if you could change the theme for the messaging app itself. I've been told to use handcent, but I like the stock messaging application better. I just wanted a red/white theme (nothing in particular, just some color change would be nice)

its in the wrong place... I dont know why it keeps doing that... open metamorph, go to existing, click red_mess, and find red_mess.xml, click it and press apply all
i did that, but it gave me some error. apparently it still applied cause it said so, but after that when i tried to open messaging it would force close. don't know if it's related but files would force close too and my app drawer would do this weird thing where it'd play the open animation like 3 times before actually opening up... i restored already so everything's good. did you try downloading it? or is it just my luck? lol
I applied it before I uploaded... I will DL and apply it to see if its the link...

EDIT: I just tried to download the new link with my phone and it didnt work again... downloaded with the comp and it worked fine... dont know what the deal is.. just download with a comp, unzip, and push to the Android_Themes file on the phones internal memory

I have a request..
The stock SMS thread color theme (yellow,blue) is a bit ugly to me. I would LOVE to see a change from Yellow to GREEN. Possibly a bit darker Blue as well.

I don't know if I am allowed to bump, so I chose to just do a second edit.
With version 1.1, this theme is nice. I have no complaints and it fits pretty well with the general feel of my phone so far. I will note that I am using a lower screen density (220) instead of the normal (240), but even with that change I have no issues. The theme looks as intended. Once you fix the Notification pull down title colors, this theme should be perfect
I do have one gripe though. Maybe it is just something that will only bother me. I don't like that it says 3G instead of H+ when it was showing H+ on kennethpenn's beta 4.5 before. If you could make it say either 4G or H+ (assuming that I am actually getting 4G/H+), I would be quite pleased.
I can change it to an H icon in the next update.
I'm also changing more of the Moto blue images.
Should have an update up tonite.

EDIT: Noticed one thing that you missed. At first, I thought it was just related to the keyboard. But if you move the cursor during text input, the arrow that pops up to easily drag the cursor has a blue outline.

Don't think so, I'm hoping somebody releases a full AOSP rom and not just a themed MotoBlur. Theming Moto's setup is a real pain.

It's now red in v1.3. BlurHome wouldn't recompile so it took some hex editing but it's for the best because that color showed up in other places too.

Was holding off on running gb for my daily rom just for your theme. Looks great!
I wish I had a GO SMS theme to match this. If anyone would be willing to make one, it would be AMAZING. This is my first time trying to completely theme out my Android and all of the GoSMS themes are either too colorful to go well with this or have a grey title bar instead of black (see "dark theme")
or if anyone knows of a way to just change those bars, that would be more than adequate

Finally i had the time to do this, i have added one more picture to the collection. This show's off the message layout, colors and such!
As last time, i need everyone to say what they think about this theme and come with ideas.
I have added a donation button, for few reasons.
This theme is going to be free for everyone and there will be a icon pack later for those who does not have the option to use this theme and of the apps that aren't supported using themes.

Was thinking something that has to do with dark/black.
But i am not really the only one out there that as made a theme named Dark something or black something.
So, i was thinking of calling it coal theme. But in latin which should be "Carbo Theme"

I would take a screenshot off how it looks unfortunetly screenshots dont show negative colours. The negative colours looks great in the settings as it's pure black.
"Why don't you just enable negative colours rather than a theme?" Well the negative colours only looks good when it's on the settings page as before the change it is white mea mmmking that it will be black when enabled, now the problem is that the menu is white like the app selection, which doesn't look good as the negative colours would invert darker colour into a brighter colour.
Hopefully you get what I mean...

Are u talking about this negative vision colour? All our themes work with negative vision colour setting. So negative color seem look like inverted color.... So if u have red theme applied.... then after negative vision colour setting applied it would change to blue or teal color theme..... u got the idea when u see screenshots below. Basically what I meant if you have the original theme then do the inverted colours the settings menu looks appealing as it's black and red. Somebody should create a theme just like that only for settings and notification and also possibly phone app red. Hopefully you get what I'm here after
Why not just upload it onto your pc and open paint, and then overwrite using inverted color.

There is one already called High_Contrast_theme, you need to be logged into your Samsung account first.
then goto "Settings" "Wallpapers and Themes"
Then "Themes" (at the bottom) "Search" (at the top) for "High Contrast" download and apply this...
It will look exactly like the screen shots of "negative colours" a few posts back.
Then its like someone cut your circulation - made your world will turn black !!
Its made by Samsung and is exactly what you are looking for (thanks please!)

So far great looking theme, except I'm not a fan of those style of icons (that's my opinion tho). Maybe you would possibly release one theme with the custom icons maybe other theme with default icons.

Hey everyone, welcome to my thread. I'm hoping to see some familiar faces around here so please pop in and give a quick hello! For those who aren't familiar with me, I've been designing themes for LG for a few years now and have supported devices from the V10, V20, G4, G5, G6, G7, V30, V40, G8, V50 and now I welcome the G8X! It's been quite a ride the past few years and I've really enjoyed this and would like to say thank you to everyone who has popped in to take a look or gotten involved with any of my threads. So the purpose of this thread is to provide support, feedback and have an open channel to communicate with everyone regarding updates, ideas, and give support to those who need it. The only rules are to be kind and do not start or engage in negative discussions. For the most part that seldom happens because that's just not how I do things around here so we shouldn't have to worry about any of that stuff. If someone does come in and rips on one of you or me just report the user and one of our moderators will send them on their way. I encourage people to post their screenshot setups or other things that come from using any of my themes. For example you may have set a custom dpi or something and found it looks really clean. Definitely share that with people here and mention what you set it to be so others can give it a whirl. Now the important part when using any of my themes is to actually read the app description when you're looking at it on Google Play. I often post important information there that you may find useful in order to get the best experience. Also I am very active on Google plus too so be sure to follow my LG themes collection there as I post things there too. This thread will hopefully grow over time, as will this page. I'm taking all the posts on it in the event that I need to post more information about various themes. That's just how I do things. Rain
This is Rain, an LG Home+ theme for your LG G8X UX 9. This theme is a premium quality theme like no other Home theme+. What you see is what you get and that is quality and attention to details! Rain is a dark theme with some bright gradient accents throughout. The Dark Notifications compliment the ui and battery life! The app icons have a slight gradient to them, with some more noticeable than others. This theme does not support adaptive icons as some of the key features of this theme are blocked by enabling the adaptive icons.
For best experience it is recommended to turn on Dark Mode in settings, display so that some of your third party apps will automatically take on dark mode. However it is not necessary if you'd prefer them to stay light. The theme will look the same if you leave Night Mode off

One UI 2
So UX 9 does have a somewhat oneui kinda feel to it. But it's just not quite there and missing a few things. So I decided to go all the way on this one and go full on One Ui 2 and give us all the goodness that we wanted. Adaptive and dynamic icons are included. I highly recommend choosing the "round" option which can be accessed via settings app, display, home and selecting the icon shape. If you want you can change from light mode to dark mode as well and the notifications will change as well. A reboot may be required when doing this as some notifications may suffer slightly if you don't reboot. It's a very clean and minimal theme and as per the title and screenshots, what you see is what you get!

Yes it is. If you're having trouble finding it just click my name on google play and go through the list of all my stuff and you'll be able to find it from there
Ok so this thread is too quiet so I'm gonna have to make something super buggy to get some action in here!

This is turning into a needle in the haystack rabbit hole treasure hunt . I just looked and don't see anything on Play Store that says LG G8X, so can you either post or PM me a link to the specific app of yours you're referring to please

I am not able to find it either in play store. I found the rain theme for UX8 but nothing for UX9. Could you please post a direct link to playstore?
Never mind. Found it.
Calender icon is not updated for dark theme. Could you please fix that and push an update to playstore?

Notification for https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.weather.Weather is impossible to read due to dark text on dark background. Is this something you can fix please?
