Hey everyone, welcome to my thread. I'm hoping to see some familiar faces around here so please pop in and give a quick hello! For those who aren't familiar with me, I've been designing themes for LG for a few years now and have supported devices from the V10, V20, G4, G5, G6, G7, V30, V40, G8, V50 and now I welcome the G8X! It's been quite a ride the past few years and I've really enjoyed this and would like to say thank you to everyone who has popped in to take a look or gotten involved with any of my threads. So the purpose of this thread is to provide support, feedback and have an open channel to communicate with everyone regarding updates, ideas, and give support to those who need it. The only rules are to be kind and do not start or engage in negative discussions. For the most part that seldom happens because that's just not how I do things around here so we shouldn't have to worry about any of that stuff. If someone does come in and rips on one of you or me just report the user and one of our moderators will send them on their way. I encourage people to post their screenshot setups or other things that come from using any of my themes. For example you may have set a custom dpi or something and found it looks really clean. Definitely share that with people here and mention what you set it to be so others can give it a whirl. Now the important part when using any of my themes is to actually read the app description when you're looking at it on Google Play. I often post important information there that you may find useful in order to get the best experience. Also I am very active on Google plus too so be sure to follow my LG themes collection there as I post things there too. This thread will hopefully grow over time, as will this page. I'm taking all the posts on it in the event that I need to post more information about various themes. That's just how I do things. Rain
This is Rain, an LG Home+ theme for your LG G8X UX 9. This theme is a premium quality theme like no other Home theme+. What you see is what you get and that is quality and attention to details! Rain is a dark theme with some bright gradient accents throughout. The Dark Notifications compliment the ui and battery life! The app icons have a slight gradient to them, with some more noticeable than others. This theme does not support adaptive icons as some of the key features of this theme are blocked by enabling the adaptive icons.
For best experience it is recommended to turn on Dark Mode in settings, display so that some of your third party apps will automatically take on dark mode. However it is not necessary if you'd prefer them to stay light. The theme will look the same if you leave Night Mode off
So enough chit chat already right? Let's show a few screenshots shall we?
One UI 2
So UX 9 does have a somewhat oneui kinda feel to it. But it's just not quite there and missing a few things. So I decided to go all the way on this one and go full on One Ui 2 and give us all the goodness that we wanted. Adaptive and dynamic icons are included. I highly recommend choosing the "round" option which can be accessed via settings app, display, home and selecting the icon shape. If you want you can change from light mode to dark mode as well and the notifications will change as well. A reboot may be required when doing this as some notifications may suffer slightly if you don't reboot. It's a very clean and minimal theme and as per the title and screenshots, what you see is what you get!

Yes it is. If you're having trouble finding it just click my name on google play and go through the list of all my stuff and you'll be able to find it from there

This is turning into a needle in the haystack rabbit hole treasure hunt . I just looked and don't see anything on Play Store that says LG G8X, so can you either post or PM me a link to the specific app of yours you're referring to please

This is awesome! Wil this work with the adrenaline rom also? Its based off of nusense so would it be compatible?
Is there any way you can do one the same but with silver instead of brown?

As long as it's the exact same rom base it should. If it doesn't the worst that can happen is a boot loop, so give it a go. Would like to know how it went, could you please post the results?

As far as Silver instead of Brown the answer is it's possible, but the more accurate answer is I wont do it These themes take forever to do, so you will have to be content with what you see :silly:

i really want something like onepagebook themes i.e. red/black that guy is simply a genius. now only theme for chinese people
you did an excellent job but too much of fancy so gets worn out soon.

A LOT goes into modifying the framework and every apk like he'd done which takes a good bit of time and often leads to burnout (not saying this is the case). If it's a simple color changing theme however (like in the theme chooser) I can make something up for you real quick like below:

I am a huge fan of the show "Person of Interest" and I've been looking for a theme for my phone that makes it look like the mesh phones from season 4. Unfortunately, I cannot find anything even remotely like that out there!
So here is my theme Challenge: use screenshots from season 4 of the show, starting with the episode "Panopticon" and create a homescreen series (3-5 screens) that are visually similar/identical to the ones seen in the show.

The resource files I just grabbed from various places across the web, because they most resembled the icons and indicators from the show. And sorry, but I don't have a gdrive of the resources to share. The thumbnails of the device from the show I screencapped myself, so you're free to use them. I captured them from the episode "Panopticon"
Also, feel free to use the attached images, I grabbed them off royalty-free sites.

Thanks for the flattering, I've created that theme long ago and I kept it mostly for myself for over a year. It was really not that difficult to make, moslty is a background image, some Zooper Widgets and an icon text app that i downloaded for free from the PlayStore. Awe man that sucks big time :crying: lol. I don't care about the contacts icon but the dialer and camera icon would be the perfect finish to the homescreen. It just looks super funny the way it is now. Oh and by the way i installed the black gmail and it didn't change the icon just the background color within the app. I was hoping it would theme the icon but it looks like none of them do from the TBO app.

@scmaDE thanks for the the thanks bro means a lot coming from you I appreciate all the work you've been doing on the theme especially with the damn dialer and contacts icons I know is got you banging your head but at the same time it pushes you to want to figure it out and that's the reason you're themes always turn out so SICK. So I've been up all night messing around using es file explorer to delete the apk for the dialer and contacts and then extracting the ones from your zip then I went and the data and cache as far as I can see all apks for the dialer are good but when I go and re enable the contacts it seems to be forcing The dialer icon to revert back to stock. But you know me very limited knowledge so is just trial and error I'll keep trying and keep you posted and again thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks for all your work and dedication here especially considering you don't have this phone. I've tried Theming that way and it gets very frustrating since you can't see the results of what you've done right away and waiting just sucks!

Finally i had the time to do this, i have added one more picture to the collection. This show's off the message layout, colors and such!
As last time, i need everyone to say what they think about this theme and come with ideas.
I have added a donation button, for few reasons.
This theme is going to be free for everyone and there will be a icon pack later for those who does not have the option to use this theme and of the apps that aren't supported using themes.

Worked on a custom rom for the Oneplus 3/3t phone, but it died and most of my work died with it.
I'll be getting the s8+ too, and i would love to see my own work on the phone. So while i wait, i'll be working on this theme

I cannot remember everything by mind, i am currently on ISO because my S7 phone died!
Why is it so hard to come up with name...
Was thinking something that has to do with dark/black.
But i am not really the only one out there that as made a theme named Dark something or black something.
So, i was thinking of calling it coal theme. But in latin which should be "Carbo Theme"

How many icons did you do? Can you only change Samsung App Icons or across the board i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Gmail... etc.

Anyone figured out how to change the messaging font and background? Was able to on the s8 but option isn't present on the 9 going it was just moved and not removed.

Have you gone messages>settings?
While in messaging there should be settings option
If not, try settings>apps>settings>default apps....
problem arises due to the fact it's not present in messages>Settings or messages> settings>more settings as it's been in previous versions.
didn't see anything under default apps from poking around quickly in it either.
Been wondering too... I have a purple phone with the purple infinity set up... But messaging is this baby blue bubble lol

I have a problem with some themes giving me Yellow Text on white background for the replies I get from my texts - makes it impossible to read - had to be careful about which themes I use - funny but when I looked at waht the theme said messages look like - it is not at all what I got (for the colors that is)
Forced me to use a messing ap from GoOGLE but then that doesn't get themed by the Samsung Theme I am using - oh the growing pains of using a new phone -

I'm not using a theme yet, just stock set up. I just have the purple infinity wall paper. And I wish I could make the text bubbles reflect similar color scheme

Found a work around. Turns out the theme I used on my s8+want updated. Developer however released a new version supporting the newer Samsung experience. So long story short I shelled out another buck fifty for a decent looking messaging app. Still though wish I could just change the background to a simple black or gray.

I found a free messaging app that offers lots of great themeing options including background - bubbles - and more. The ap is called "mood" on google play and it works great. no Ads, You are not forced to register with MOOD but you can - and it seems to work great. You can even customize text bubbles by contact or text thread -

Weave. Just had to go with the one posted 2018 vs the older one previously posted to the theme store.
I notice that resizing in conversations doesn't stick anymore. I'd use pinch to zoom to make a conversation bigger, but if back out and open conversation again the text resets

Also, my message app just updated and now the background is all white. What is that crap. I can't swipe a chat to call anymore? Why are the S8 tricks gone?
Good lock and theme park allows you to create your own colors for your theme.
