I recently bought a US998 from B&H and had to return it due to a severe yellow-green color distortion on the bottom third of the screen. My V30 was manufactured in February. Inspecting my nearby carrier stores, I found one V30 with a similar but milder version of the problem and one that didn't appear to have it at all. Is this a common problem? Is there any way to avoid it other than buying V30s and returning them if they exhibit it?

I own three from B&H Photo and don't have that on any of them. Two V30 and one V30+.
Another V30 purchased from B&H. I don't have this issue either.
ALso purchased us998 from B&H back in early December, definitely no issues here.
Just checked mine,
Got a bit of the some yellowish on half bottom of the screen.
Is this a hardware issue?
If this is then the only solution is returning it to LG
Got a replacement from B&H and this one is imbalanced straight down the middle. Blueish on the left side and yellowish on the right side.

You're shooting it sideways, so yeah you'll see blue. Try again, shooting it straight on.

That is a "blue shift" present on every v30. Every OLED panel has it. Samsung's screen has a "red shift" for ex.

Gotta use a dark theme and get rid of that white background. Try the black and white theme in the play store along with the pitch black wall paper.

Please refer to the picture below. Do you spot any abnormalities with my SAMOLED+ display? The yellow tint is gone after flashing to 2.3.5, but the area in the lower left is still showing a lighter tone--like a right triangle; so does a small area on the upper left. Also, the brightness (as I've noticed in other S2's) is not evenly distributed across the screen. These problems are hardly visible in normal use, but it becomes visible in grey backgrounds, and notifications area, and lowest brightness in web browser. Please let me know, thanks.

so, what do you all think? Please let me know thank you.
Mine looks exactly like that: triangle in bottom left, splotch in top right, and whole left seems a little dimmer than the rest. I haven't installed any updates & bought mine in South Africa; where did you get yours? I was honestly under the impression that AMOLED was the technology to go for, but now I'm not so sure anymore.
At first I was going to ignore the lighting defects and the pink tint in the center of camera images as there aren't that severe, but now I've found my phone's earpiece probably has a problem too. It makes a crackly noise during calls that sounds like something's loose in the speaker, so I reckon it's time to send this one back...
Update: I got mine replaced today due to the speaker problem, and the new one has neither the triangle nor the splotch. It is still darker down the left side of the screen though, maybe even a bit more so than on the old one...
I had exactly the same issues (well, not exactly as mine were worse). I had to replace it twice. Now I have one without this issues, no yellowish border and little to no banding.
The guys at the service told me that if there is any problem now, I can get a new phone right away, but considering how many people have display problems, I would rather repair this one. It's display is suspiciously perfect...

Why is the upper right corner of the front protector cut off? To not cover the Nokia logo? I just dont see the point.

That pic does not represent what the actual zag looks like. I have the maximum body protector and it fits very well. I'll try to take a pic and post but I have no complaints on how the zagg is designed.
More likely there is a fold top right, but there's not enough detail to see it.
Here's the corner that you questioned. It's not cutoff like your pic illustrated. Zagg is holding up great so far.
Thanks for the replies guys. Bought Zaggs for front+back, and a kit from Martin Fields aswell to protect entire camera section on the back. Worried though as my Lumia 920 is White and apparently, Zaggs on White phones gets a blue tint from being in pockets (blue jeans) and in general wont appear "as white" as if its not on.

That's the reason why my phone is running around naked, now.

Put it on front and bought this for the back. But right now im replacing my phone (see this thread) so thats a nice waste of money, heh. Did however just get my martin fields, so that means I'll have a new screen protector plus protection for metallic Nokia logo+lens.
i know is preference but i can tell you that i returned the white version (after a week) and got the black version today because of the BLACK BORDERS around the phone. The black version DOES NOT HAVE IT. u might think because is black it does have borders and u can't see it because the bezel and borders are both black. This is not the case. the black bezel covers all around the screen, while the white bezel does not. it's noticeable both in direct sun light.
here is how a white version looks with black border, i tried to live with it and it was so annoying that i gave up on it.
I'm not a fan of white call me a phone racist

I'm taking a really close look at my black one and I'm pretty sure it has the exact same gap that just stands out more in the white edition
OP are you serious? I'm pretty sure all G2 phone have that border, its just the black phone would be obviously harder to notice.

Op can you post a picture of the black phone too?

True
I don't give a crap about this border, I am still going to get the white one. The black one does have a gap as well but it is just less noticeable because of the black bezel around it.
Wow. Good ol xda.
Just slap on a big and extremely chunky case that greatly overlaps the front bezel. Problem solved! Lol.
Hey, I just got the LG G5. I noticed the chin is really sharp, and there are just sharp edges throughout the whole phone on the sides, but not as bad as the chin. I noticed on the bottom right near the chin my lcd was slightly lifted off and could see the backlight. I pushed it in and it hasn't popped back out yet, but I am guessing it's going to do the same thing later. The sharp edges I am talking about are where the metal strip is, not the LCD so I don't think that has anything to do with this.
I also have an LG g2 and that phone and is extremely smooth and nice to hold. Is this normal for the LG G5 to be so sharp?

I might be exaggerating, but it just feels odd to me an expensive device like this isn't completely flush.
With the flash on, the seam appears bigger than in real life, but it does help show what I am talking about:
Also, I bought the phone from ebay claiming it was new and sealed. I bought the titan variant of this phone, does yours also have a sticker on the back like mine with the serial and imei info? There was also a 32gb microsd card from Kingston in here, but I do not recall this phone advertising it came with a microsd card.

Ok so here's my dilemma. I've had an LG screen for the past 3 weeks and it has a slight green tinge to it which can only really be seen if I sit in a dark room and turn the display grey and screen to low. In all other aspects I'm happy with it. I have also just bough a Mate 20 Pro with a BOE screen, this doesn't have any of the green to it and seems fine, just not as vivid and the white can appear slightly grey in some lights. I've also started to read on here about the screen scratching more easily and battery drain. Also that the BOE is not as good quality as the LG.
What do I do? Keep the LG or go for the BOE. Has anyone else had a problem after swapping and wished they'd stayed with the LG?
Go for BOE. LG screen is abit blueish, abit too vivid. I did the comparision between many devices included iPhone X, Xs Max, Note 9, M20P LG and M20P BOE. I'm happy with BOE right now!

Keep the BOE. Battery is exactly the same. I went through 6 LG screen's and every one had problems.
Stay with BOE, I had LG screen and gave it a shot even after having green tint all around the screen, with time green tint got worse. I tried to adjust the colours on phone but still, the screen was just too bad (was gutted when I showed it to my friends and they were like wtf is this? you spent this much to have this?). Finally gave up and got it replaced, so happy with BOE only problem I have with BOE is Black isn't completely black. I don't know I just feel that LG screen had got black on them nice and dark compared to BOE. Battery seems to be fine.
Another problem I had on LG screen was quality, I had the phone in my pocket with keys and i kid you not it got nicks and chips on the screen. My old oneplus 3t never had problems with keys, I was surprised with screen quality.
Display boe
Hello everyone I noticed that my display buo with the screen under the sun shadows of the. Instead of being normal, fingers have a light green Phosphorescent effect while on an LG display they are normal
