Kernel for onyx oreo? - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any powerful kernel for oreo onyx? I am currently using aosip 8.1 if that helps....

Just change the gov int the "stock kernel" (which is arsenic's base).

I guess there is not even an option for it. Btw I keep it at on demand, which gives me around 3 hours of sot.

I´m building one let see how it moves...

MM Tesla was a rom with a very good battery life on the onyx and I heard Tesla N is extremly battery friendly on OP3. Maybe they have some draining bugs. I haven't time to try it (I'm on MM Validus)
edit:
If you have free time, try a custom kernel and report the battery life here

I was on Arsenic Kernel. I dont know why, but every 7.0 ROM has bad battery life on my phone. I tried CM14 by Sarthak, F-AOSP and Tesla N
Edit: I tried Stock Kernel on Tesla N and it was even worse.

OK, maybe it will be fixed. For comparison, did you use a MM rom before?

Mhm okey. For now I would go with a MM rom and the new BL with codsworth kernel (can't install the kernel, because validus can only be used with old BL)

I believe all those roms are not on xda development section.
Will someone be so kind to list me all other roms, which are not on xda.(MM andN).

Try Validus N or Tesla N. Both without bugs and very stable
Tesla N OMS 7.1.1 https://plus.google.com/+martincoulon/posts/HARzVbTK4EU
Validus 7.1.1 https://plus.google.com/+martincoulon/posts/HFPesmyHs9W

Which Kernel is best ?

I'm using LOS 14.1 (latest build) on my RN3 2GB.
I was thinking to flash a kernel but now confused with the variety of kernels present. So which one is better for Nougat: Franco, Radon or Agni ?
Stock LineageOS make 84k in Antutu, franco 74k...i stopped trying here and back to stock. No problem with it, fast and reliable.
Benchmarks mean NOTHING. Come on ... When will people realize it. Franco works great, if you want d2tw then radon. I'm on radon for several months and never had a problem and I have reliable d2tw.
I am using Elementalx, so far so good :good:

ROM for 2gb kenzo

Hello there! I am looking for the fastest rom for 2gb variant of kenzo. It can even be a marshmallow, nougat or Oreo. Every rom I tried was working poorly after a week or so.
What rom will be the most stable/fast working? Thanks!

My phone shuts down randomly while running AEX. This is the only rom that gives me such problems. Do you have any idea why? Or if there is any good rom you could recommend?

if you are using latest AEX, then please look at the version 5.4 which is stable for daily usage. 5.6 has some problem as it is based on new device tree .
Mcaosp latest + Agni 12.9 is also a very good option you can try it. mcaosp latest has very good battery backup. always clean flash the os . Use gaaps by Mcaosp also .

Thank you for your answers! I want to ask for one more thing. What settings do you recommend while installing agni kernel? I always wondered if I should just select default options or if there are better choices.
ABC. Default kernel. Been using it continuously for more than a month

Constant bootloop on flashing Franco Kernel over Oreo 8.1 ROMs

I wanted to flash a custom Kernel for the best battery life and buttery performance over my Nitrogen OS 8.1 ROM. After going through the xda posts and several kernel review videos, Franco Kernel was the best match.
So I tried flashing the latest version 'fk-r16-anykernel2.zip' over my clean ROM but it resulted in a bootloop. So I did a factory reset, flashed AOSP Extended (I thought probably Nitrogen OS and Franco doesn't go hand in hand), and tried Franco Kernel again but without success. I tried all the available versions of the kernel for Oreo ROMs but all resulted in a bootloop ultimately. Please help if anyone has faced the same problem.
I tried wiping the Cache and Dalvik Cache before and after flashing the kernel (although I don't see a point in doing that).
My device information:
Device - Redmi Note 3 SD (Kenzo)
ROM - AOSP Extended Oreo (June 10 official build)
Bootloader unlocked.
TWRP Recovery 3.2.1 installed.
No custom kernel installed.
FK is outdated and will NOT work with roms with the new device tree. This is already posted on that thread and AOEX too.

Ohh.. I didn't know that.. Thanks for your quick reply.. Can you please suggest any alternate Kernel that's as good and supports the new device tree?
Thanks in advance.
Agni kernel latest
The stock kernel is good enough for me, you can always use a kernel auditor to edit it. People use agni kernel.

I tried that too. But there were stutters everywhere. That led me on to Radon. Are you using it with AOSP Extended?
Im using it on bootleggers

NEED stock MIUI kernel or linux 4.x kernel flashable zip file.

I can't use Dark ages kernel. it makes my battery read go nuts. it goes up and down by itself all the time. my vince is only stable with stock miui kernel or linux 4.x kernel.
Can anyone give me links of those?

Extract boot.img from the rom that you are using, copy it to your sdcard and in TWRP choose flash images.

This won't boot, if you want to restore your kernel you have to use same boot from the same rom you are using

Ah ok, in this case you can try a boot from other rom of a same version.
Also I guess that the kernel was updated.
Same you can try other custom kernel but ever same version.
Miui boots don't match with AOSP roms.

I tried AOKP's boot.img with this rom. it wont boot. they are both 8.1 roms. aokp has linux 4.x kernel which seems stable with my vince. but dont like the rom.
I think my Vince has "static" processor which doesn't support any change in cpu frequency and dark age changes cpu frequencies.

There are roms that are builded with a specific kernel in order to work properly.
Did you see some updates in the kernel version? Or other dark ages version?
Also you can try a sort of "reverse engineering" tweak this kernel with some app.
