Hi, I have a Mate 10 pro (italy market) single sim.
I have downloaded Gboard but when i open the settings for activate the keyboard it is not selectable.
it appears in gray, while the other keyboards are selectable.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall several times but the problem remains.
can you help me?
I found a solution alone. I write it here for anyone who could have this problem. in the settings menu, in the search field I wrote "keyboard", among the results I selected "virtual keyboard" and from this menu I found in the list of entries again "virtual keyboard" and here finally I could enable gboard.
Worked perfectly. Thanks!!!
I'll revive an old thread.
What do you mean "download"? Do you have the Huawei keyboard with your phone? I'm in the USA, and here it COMES with Gboard, and i much rather use the Huawei keyboard, but i can't find it. Would you or anyone with the apk upload it somewhere? Thank you
Huawei keyboard is shiftkey
When I try to use voice to text it stops recording after about 2 seconds. No problem on my mate 9.
Crap. Any tips?

Does it at least transform the 2 seconds to text? Go to app settings and have a look if it has permission to use mic. Maybe just reset app by deleting app data....I had this issue before but can't remember how I fixed it.. I just remember it wasn't complicated.
PS: voice to text sends you voice to the Google server. Maybe your internet connection is weak or something in your Google account settings prevents this feature (maybe privacy settings you adjusted)

Thanks for the reply.
It will record for about 3 seconds then just stops typing. The "listening" is still displayed too, but just stops typing.
My internet connection is good.
I also have a Mate 9 and it works just fine.
I deleted the Gboard app all together, then reinstalled and it worked for about 3 times, then same thing.
I have the mic permission turned on. It's wierd. I live in Thailand and this is the dual SIM version BLA-L29.
Same here. Annoying AF

Hi, i've searched through tones of google pages and so on and have not come to a solution yet. Currently on the Omega v31. Awesome rom btw however i always hated the "Select input notification" and yes i do know how to get rid of it and all by removing the stock keyboard or freezing it with titanium. My issue at hand is Google voice typing which is awesome and should not be frozen or removed due to Google now or so i have read. the thing is this google voice typing auto checks itself after awhile and i have no clue why. so yes i have Smart keyboard as default and unchecked google voice typing and notification goes away till after using the phone for awhile google voice typing then enables itself again. So irritating .. can anyone share some light on this.
Same here, Google Voice Typing automatically checked.
DEAR GOOGLE, VERY STUPID FUNCTION.
Moving to Android for 3 weeks and this platform has TONS TONS TONS of BUGS.
I am also having the same issue but instead with my LG Optimus G. I have everything set up like the OP has by only having one input method set up. No matter what the Google Voice typing will check itself back on. It would be very helpful if someone has a method to keep it permanently unchecked or removed without removing google now as I as that feature, Thanks.
Hi, firstly sorry if it is not the forum for this specific phone, but I can't find it on XDA. So I suppose this is the most similar phone.
I have a problem with two apps:
- Lastpass
- A filter-dimmer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.ericytsang.screenfilter.app.android
Both use accesibility services in order for them to be displayed in front of every other app.
Both work OK but sometimes both of them stop working, and I can't make them work again sometimes too, even re-enabling accesibility services (This works for the dimmer but not for Lastpass).
Have you had any similar problem? Currently I have ColorOS 6.1
Thank you

I have the same issue with apps using accessibility services. I can't figure how to whitelist apps so they are not killed.
Let's collect our discovered bugs of this device. Here are mine:
Default Launcher setting is lost upon reboot. In my case I set Hypersion as default, reboot and the setting is gone. I have to reset and sometimes eben force close the stock launcher or I will still end up on stock when I go back from an app.
GPS coordinates are often wrong in exif of taken photos.
Android Auto freezes as soon as the phone goes into standby.
9gag stays empty and needs to be closed if it was in background.
Google Photos is super laggy due to scoped storage limitations in Android 11. Especially while deleting pictures. Maybe not an device specific issue.
Gboard overlays on places it shouldn't, in any app, only way to fix is to close the app completely.
Game Space app resets everytime I restart my phone, additionally, unhides games, meaning I've gotta flick the switch each time.
Oppo App Market, when I update a app and press install, the install prompt repeatedly refreshes even if the apps installed successfully, only resolve is to close the app completely, and refresh the update page.
Notification panel stays grey even with enhanced dark mode.
App drawer cannot be customized at all, not even row layout.
Swipe up gestures seem to have a hang when swiping up from the centre, also affects keyboard too.
UI glitches in certain apps.
Oppo App Market now persistently requests read app usage permission.
File Manager has a hang upon opening varies between 1-4 seconds.
Microphone volume on social media applications is ridiculously low.
I realize that app drawer customisation & notification panel colour, aren't bugs, however they're very annoying.
Where do we report bugs to Oppo? Cant find it anywhere
Pressing "Close all" disconnects Garmin watch, as it seems to shutdown Bluetooth in the process. Reported to Oppo. No response.

It does not shutdown Bluetooth but the plugin app that is running in the background and is needed to communicate with the watch. Same thing with Samsung active plugin - when I hit close all I get a notification that the plugin restarted itself.

I just sent them an email to their Australian support email address.
There are plenty in the Color OS 11 update. Here's another one... Using "Keep screen on while charging" in Developer Options to circumvent the annoying Android Auto issue, and Navigation pops up with no way of canceling it, even after the phone is disconnected from USB. The only way to get rid of this notification is to restart the phone. Oppo really shouldn't have pushed such a buggy update without proper testing.
Edit... Seems this bug doesn't even need to have android auto activated, just charging via my car's USB port will trigger the navigation bug. Any way to rollback to Android 10? More problems than this is worth.

Don't know about that but personally I don't see any reason to ever hit "close all" in the first place.
Good evening from France to the whole XDA community!
I have a problem on my Oppo Find X2 PRO: it often happens that when I call or someone calls me, no sound is picked up by the phone when I speak. My caller can't hear me.
I wonder if this is related to the use of a Bluetooth device (my speaker, my headset) before?
Has anyone experienced this problem and if so, how did they solve it?
I would add that a simple reboot is enough to correct the problem...
I have a problem with my Google Assistant on my Malaysian Set GT 2 Pro (Global Rom i suppose). Where if i call out 'Hey Google', Assistant will respond, even when the screen is off.. The assistant overlay appears, and mic is turned on ready for whatever I'm about to say next, but when i start speaking, it doesn't listen to me and no dictation of what i speak appears on the assistant as if i have not said a word. This only happen everytime after calling out the assistant with 'Hey Google'. If i start the assistant by long pressing home button, the assistant hears me and start dictating what i say and works normally.
I am not sure if this is mic problem or the google/assistant app's problem. For mic, i have given all required mic permission to the Google app.
I have a video of this, please have a look in the attachment and help me out. Thanks
same problem, mines was converted from chinese Rom to global from.
I have the same issue and its driving me crazy

Thank you that helped me resolve the issue.
Same issue on global European rom. I was crazy with this bug. Thank you so much for the solution. I disable accessibility services for "tasker" app and it work.
Another one who had the same issue. Thanks for the fix! For me was CCleaner!
Hi, I'm using BitWarden and I would like to keep accessibility enabled (it's very useful). Have you found a workaround to this problem?
Suddenly my Pixel 6 running Android 13 can no long use Google Voice. I have tried 2 different cars, 3 different USB cords, clearing cache and data, uninstalling and reinstalling the Android Auto App. All with no luck. About the only thing left I can think to do is factory reset. I hate to go to that extreme, but I drive a lot and need a functioning Android Auto.
Android Auto lets me answer calls. (It may actually be the car that is doing that). Any attempt to read incoming messages, ask directions, text a contact, ask a question, or place a call come back with "Oops, something has gone wrong, try again later". Once unplugged from the vehicle, everything works fine.
Do you have Ad Guard or some sort of adblocker installed?
I had the same problem and had to disable it for android auto, assistent, google apps and all other google apps I could find.
Problem solved

No ad blocker installed.
Another odd thing is this: On the Android Auto screen, You Tube Music is now at the top. I do not use it. I use Pandora instead. This is really strange.
You can disable YouTube Music on your mobile, it won't show up or in Android Auto select what should be on the screen.
As for your initial problem, this is not really related to the Pixel 6, the problem is related to the Google Assistant and the Google App.
Cheers
Yes, I suspected as much.
You should check your internet connection is working fine, update the Google Voice and Android Auto app, also make sure that DND is not enabled.

Perhaps using the beta versions of Google Play services, Google app and Android auto fixes the issue you're encountering. And make sure that all permissions are enabled aswell.
Ps : the beta versions can be downloaded from apkmirror.
Ended up having to factory reset the phone to fix this.
