Exynos 9810 What Model Number Unlocked - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Hi,
Quick question:
Getting a S9 Plus either way but:
I'd like to get the Unlocked version with the Exynos 9810 chip.
Will I have any issues with bands etc. on T Mobile????
What exactly won't work with US carriers??
Also model numbers if you have them.
Thanks for any insight,
Ken

Also looking for this information.

As I saw on other threads there will be no issues for the Unlocked to work with T-Mobile.

SGH-I717 vs SGH-I717R : What's the difference?

Does R mean 4G LTE?
Mine only says I717, does that mean it's not 4G LTE capable?
If not, I might as well just return it and get the R version.
Or am I totally wrong?
Google/XDA search didn't provide any information about this.
Thanks
BTW, I have AT&T SGH I717

I'm pretty sure that the hardware is the same for all models, just the firmware is slightly different, so they should all be LTE capable, but I can't confirm that for sure.

Those however, run the Exinos chipset, and not the Qualcomm, and only support HSPA+ and not LTE. The chipset is faster, and the data is slower.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! The Rogers internals are different. Uses Qualcomm, the others don't. 1.5 Ghz processor compared to 1.4. The Rogers Note -r is a entirely different beast.

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! The ATT, Telus, Bell, and Telus versions have exactly the same internals. All I717 versions are the same except for firmware and cosmetic branding. All support LTE.
The N7000 and I9220 are physically different on the inside and the outside from the I717 Note version. They have a physical home button and run an entirelly different chipset.

I've read somewhere that AT&T version i717 came first, and then 'lettered' versions for Canada appeared. So they are slightly newer and better revision, but I have no idea to what extent.

Debranding and lte band issue

Hi folks, I'm planning to debrand my Chinese version UL00 to european L01 using Multitools, my concern is that will I lose TD-LTE band 38/39/40/41 since the above bands are not configured in any european models? Did anyone tried this before?
Cheers!

If you unbrand your phone, does that network unlock it? Sorry for the newbie question, but I genuinely don't know!

As long as the firmware you want to flash is bootloader version 2. Look at the last five digits of the version. You're running 2ARF7. So you can run anything that also has 2 there. For instance, 2ARBG.

T-Mobile ARC6 update

Did TMO pull the ARC6 update? I manually sideloaded the update since I could not get it and the phone info app shows the old one as the latest still...

We need carrier specific forums like the s8 and all previous Galaxies. I Wonder why no carrier specific forums for s9? It would for sure help with stuff being posted in the right places. I heard there was an ATT RC6, Where might one find that? Also need a U1 Unlocked section as well. At Least separate the exynos from the snapdragon since NOTHING is interchangeable. Two completely different phones.

I can see having forums for different model numbers, but from what I understand, all of the US carrier versions have the same model number, which means you can interchange the firmware. For instance, I'm running the ARC6 (TMobile) on my ATT device.
While I've had no luck on all of the other firmware out there, whether it's a Google Pay or Samsung Pay issue (I need both), it's nice to have options.

Yes, but you will be stuck on v2 bootloader. Once you go to ARC6, there is no going back.

G9650 on Verizon?

Hi, I've noticed that PhoneMore lists all the same bands for the G9650 as the US issued G965U, including the CDMA bands that are not present in international variants. Does this actually mean that the G9650 will work on Verizon in the US?

Curious as well, looking at this model and unfortunately im stuck with Verizon
Yes it will work. Just needs some fixing up to work. I know a guy that has done this on the s8/s8+ and the note 9 models.
I plan to get this model very soon as well to start working with.
I know several guys that will be getting it including @stang5litre
