Is there a posibility to install Android app that use barometric sensor to calculate altitude, because GPS altitude works slower with much more power used.
Thnx
use trial mode
Running mode uses GPS for altitude. trial run mode uses the barometer for altitude.

Interesting. Which one should be more precise - GPS or the barometer?

GPS if you're on flat open ground with no trees and clear sky. If not then trial run.

Do you know what the other sport modes use for measuring altitude?
So far my experiments show the following:
Climb - very inaccurate , shows wrong altitude with deviation of more than 150 meters;
Trail run - absolutely precise measurement :good: (does it really use the barometer instead of GPS?!);
Run - kind of strange, but the Altitude Graph is displayed this way in my activity reports, even when I'm in the mountains:

So no altitude information about this activity.
wrong Altitude
in which distribution the altitude is calculated correctely? on a flat path runnig I get change of altitude around 400m.
I get values completely wrong. I have Stratosfied now
Trial mode is accurate for me (on Stockified and Stock on Pace). Cycling seems to use the same method as running, they both give crazy results ( 400 meters below sea level when I'm on flat ground above sea level).
Pace has a known bug that the altitude gets "stuck" after an activity, restating the watch should fix it for the next activity. I'm not sure if it happens with Stratos as well.
I found the initial altitude value can be very inaccurate
Then during the activity the elevation gain is quite accurate (with an error less than 5%) but with an initial value completely wrong the current value is unreliable.
It's a pity to have both GPS and barometric altitude without the ability to see and calibrate them
I use it often in mountain and having a reliable value is important not only to see the difference in altitude but also to forecast weather change
any suggestion?

I don't know from where you have this info, I searched for it but couldn't find some more informations on it
.
My experience with altitude is, the first 30s of every outdoor activity the altitude is allways wrong. Later it gets better but I could not see a difference between trailrun or running or cycling.
BUT
I don't use the Phoneapp to have a second look at the activities but export it with python scripts and look at it with some other software. It can be, that the Phoneapp is using online altitude value models to correct wrong values, but that is just a guess.
The new Chinese beta ROM (CN BETA 2.0.6.0.12) has a "use 3D" setting on all the outdoor activities, which I'm not sure, what it is for. Maybe it is to activate the Altitude measuring via barometer.
Sometime I have the same problem of flat altitude with my pace on trial mode. I’m on 2.6.1.0.
In run mode I have inacurate result with 280m climbing instead of 80... since the beginning. I have my pace since 15 mounth
3D mode means that not just the horizontal distance is used but the vertical as well. So in steep area it will be longer.

3D data can be set and enabled in the sports settings. When 3D data is triggered, watch will
calculate distance using both your elevation change and your horizontal movement over
ground as shown above.

Found this nifty little diagnostic app, does a similar job to the "show CPU Usage" under the development options on our tabs, except with this one you can place it where you like.
So basically, this allows you to monitor in real time a few things, like CPU and RAM, and like the Development option, its stays displayed what ever you might be doing...want to find out how much cpu that game is using in real time, BAM, now you can
--------------------------------
Quick run down on the app shown on my screenshot (Lower left, on the taskbar)
N - Network, i love this. Allows you to view real time when data is being transfered over Mobile/Wifi, in this case wifi. Allows me to see if any apps are transfering data over wifi in the background,
Bar Graph - This gives a graphical representation of what you've chosen to display, in this instance i have it to display CPU Frequency, others include, available ram, battery level, wifi signal etc etc
102mhz -Pretty self explanatory, shows the current frequency of your tablet/phone
M - This bits the RAM
t - Temperature
com.android.systemui:screenshot - This bit displays the top process using the most of your, i belive, cpu, at that time
--------------------------------
You can change the update interval i.e. 0.5s, 1s, 2s
Theres also one or two other things you can display, which ive taking off through the app settings
Double cheked on cpu spy, and it doesnt seem to use any unsuall amounts of the higher clock speeds, time will tell, so, touch wood, its not a resource hog
Could always turn it off, and turn it on when you want to diagnose CPU or RAM issues

LOVE IT! :good:
Just received the gear fit 2 software update. Did you guys notice any difference?
FW: BPG3
There's an outdoor mode, may have been there before (didn't notice it).
I didn't read the changelog that popped up. I know they're supposed to push an update that puts in a tweaked Stairs algorithm. Not sure if this one has it or not.
I'll test it at the gym shortly and see if they addressed the calorie counting at all. I doubt they did. Will post back.
*Edit* Just tested some stairs and it's exactly the same. Walking up (and down) with normal gate for multiple trials resulted in it recording approximately 40% (5 trials up, 2 flights recorded). Same as when I tested the last firmware. And if you run stairs, good luck getting any, unless it's a really long stairway.
*Edit2* Calorie counting during exercise still doesn't work correctly.
I'm hoping this FW release was just to fix the inability for a lot of users to not update their Health Apps. Maybe a new version of those will be forthcoming and fix some of these issues.
Just have the Fit 2 for 2 days but stairs count do not works I have also a Fitbit One in the pocket and all stairs are counted right with my Fitbit but Gear Fit 2 never counted one stair in 2 days I know I have only 16 steps
I think this patch was just to fix the S Health Update...once updated, the App Store didnt register any more updates needed for the Gear Fit2.
As for the stair count, I always thought it was for climbing stairs, and doesn't work for going down stairs....lol, I could be wrong

Yes, i just noticed that there's is an outdoor mode in the display settings now which is nice. Although i dont climb much stairs but i climbed 4 floors 2 times and both time it recorded it correctly however it doesn't record climbing down. I think the screen scrolls a bit faster now.
Has anyone else had issues with the hidden weather app? I use the stock clock with the weather attribute at the bottom. Even a little while before the update, no information is displayed on the bottom of the watch face. Upon clicking on it, it opens the weather app. It's blank, and only displays the "add current location" button. My location is already ON anyway, but when I click this button it opens the screen asking to accept the terms of the location permission regardless. Then it hangs at "fetching current location", and will stay this way for hours without change. I can back out and continue to use the gear fit2, but when trying to view the weather again the same screen remains.
The samsung weather app is installed, I have an S7 Edge (AT&T SM-G935A) and it's set to auto update every 6 hours. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

No issue with the weather app. I select automatic location (GPS) in face parameter in Gear manager.
Odd. For some reason mine will not leave this screen after I try to open it (see image):

On the many faces wich provide an icon to launch the weather app.
You have also the standard integrated Fit face with a complication at bottom. User can choose : weather, steps, event......
Thanks I am thinking this might be a regional thing....=(
I have looked my FIT2, and if I try to add an additional widget, I can only add...CAFFEINE/TOGETHER/WATER...

It's just a hidden widget, that cannot be used directly.
You can only use watchfaces that open this widget.
The same thing is the hidden daily schedule.

Hi,
where can I find the firmware for Gear Fit 2 using Odin wifi?
I can't find that, I have the firmware for Gear S2 but not the firmware for sm-r360 (Gear Fit 2).
Can you help me please?

I've had a problem for quite some time where Google Maps on my OnePlus One displays the normal Map view in near-zero contrast (no matter the screen brightness). You simply cannot tell, looking at the screen with the human eye, the difference between roads and not-roads. In Satellite view it's fine (but of course uses much more data, memory, CPU, etc, and Satellite view is much busier on the screen, so that's not a long-term acceptable solution).
I'm running CM13 on my OnePlus One; there is no Contrast setting. (In Accessibility there are a couple of related ones, but they don't actually control contrast, and they don't solve this problem, and they're both marked experimental - may impact performance).
I found an app, Netman "Screen Adjuster", which works perfectly .. but has to be always running to hold the contrast adjusted, leaves a post in notifications (despite its option to not do so), is ad supported, etc - simply should not be necessary.
Why isn't there/ how can we add/ who do we beg/pay to add a Contrast adjustment to the normal Settings in CyanogenMod 13 ?
thanks!
Content of my post from CyanogenMod forums:
On my OnePlus One running CM13 [nightlies] - I'm not sure if this specifically started with my upgrade some months ago to CM13, or if it was this way on CM12 before also - the contrast in Google Maps is much too low. Basically it's impossible to see the difference between road and not-road in the normal Map view. If I switch it to Satellite view then everything displays fine. On some other forums I've seen similar complaints both from OnePlus users and from users of some other platforms. So it's a maps+contrast thing, not exactly specific to this model.
I've attached two screenshots and a camera photograph of the same Google Maps display:
One screenshot is of normal Map view, which viewed here displays perfectly, so it's not the actual graphic content, but how the OPO screen displays it.
The other screenshot is of Satellite view, which viewed here and with human eyeballs on the OPO's screen is fine.
The photograph is of normal Map view (I tested both with the screen brightness quite high and the also quite low, both show near zero contrast making the map view unusable to the human eye, so I'm only posting one photo here).
My guess is that either contrast or something about the graphics drivers for the OPO in CM13 are causing the valid underlying graphic bits to be displayed in very low contrast.
I'm not sure why I don't notice this in other programs, just in Google Maps.
Hm. It's definitely the OPO's Contrast setting. I found an app (which I don't like as it has to be always running to keep the contrast set properly) "Screen Adjuster" by "Netman" which makes Google Maps perfectly readable by setting Contrast to "-100" (exactly halfway between the default 0 and the maximum).
So, without using some dodgy app, how to control Contrast on OPO or more generally in CM13?
thank you.

Photo of Satellite view - looks fine
Screenshot of Map view (exactly the same thing in the first photograph) - displays fine on YOUR screen which has proper contrast, just not on a (my?) OPO:
Try to change the color temperature. It might do the trick. Settings>Screen>Color temperature
Now, that's interesting.
On my OPO with CM13 within Settings -> Display & lights -> LIVEDISPLAY, I had Display mode set to Outdoor (which seems to boost display brightness and whiteness, though in no place does it speak of contrast).
It has Color Temperature (which did indeed help .. at the expense of some need-to-get-used-to-that color variations; I've re-set those to the defaults of 6500K day and 4800K night), color calibration (100% for each of R/G/B, and changing that is definitely not what I was looking for ), Power consumption (no effect) and Enhance colors (no effect).
So while color temperature makes a difference it doesn't seem to be the ideal... but I played with Display mode, switching it from Outdoor to Automatic, and instantly Google Maps became readable.
This is in my home office, which is presently lit by subdued outside lighting on a clear sunny day. I need to go outside and stand in full direct sunlight to see if Automatic goes to Outdoor and again washes out Google Maps displays to zero-contrast unreadability.
It still seems weird that Contrast is controllable (witness "Screen Adjuster" and several others) but there is no Contrast control in Settings.
Many thanks!
Im glad that helped
Hi,

1 - Current time
2 - App start time or reset time (This is useful to know which time we start our training)
3 - Reset all numbers including the rest time list and the start time
4 - Start and Stop the chronometer without clearing it
5 - Chronometer numbers, when click it will start from 0 and send the value to the rest list
6 - Rest list with the numbers of reps made already, it's possible to scroll and it will go automatically to the last value set when is on other position...
Enjoy... Install by your own risk... Don't blame for nothing! It's FREE!

if you're using it for Gym, maybe you can call the intent of one of the indoor activities, like treadmill or elliptical, and control the actual activities as well?
that way you'll have the ability of controlling the times, and when you'll start or stop the activity via the GRC ( Gym Rest Counter ), you'll actually control the watch for the HR monitoring and the activities that will go into the application?
Just need to check the intents names from the watch itself.

For an example, if I'm doing an supine, I set to 10 repeats and when it reaches, vibrate the watch.

Hi, can you explain how to use this app for a basic gym use case, let's say bench press, 4 sets of 10 reps, with 2 minutes of rest between sets?
Thanks!

Is heart rate measurement synchronized? Congratulations on the App!
I stumbled across the below sensor (BSS_InDisplaySensorHelper) being one of the culprits for higher than usual battery drain.
It appears to be the fingerprint sensor displaying on the AOD. To stop the battery drain set show icon when screen is off to never. This appears to drain the battery regardless if you use AOD or not. I'm assuming this would effect all devices across the galaxy s21 range, maybe others can confirm?
You can use gsam battery monitor to check if you have the same issue on your device. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm
Hope this helps others as it worked for me.

Check to see if you have the same drain regardless if you use AOD or not. Possible sensor bug that needs to be corrected by Samsung with an update.

AOD probably is not be the issue. Other apks like Google play Services, Backup Transport, Framework and any other cloud apks will commonly run in the background with the screen off eating globs of power.
Worse, they're aren't always reported correctly ie another apk is actually the perp.

I've noticed the same. This wakelock has always been there. However aod off seems to improve battery drain.
Hi, I have the same problem here except the option to disactivate it is greyed out because of power saving (which means it's either no the cause of the problem or one of the many ways samsung is ****ing with the user with contradictory options)

I never have used the fingerprint sensor or screen lock on either of my Note 10+'s.
Not even tested it.
The amount of potential trouble it could cause is epic with nothing to gain.
Double tap on/off
If this is the cause the work around is simple, turn it off. I can almost guarentee you that isn't the only app running in the background though.
It may not be the worst offender.
Also keep in mind app usage is sometimes misreported by the phone.
I just bought my S21 (exynos) 1 week ago. One UI 4.0 installation was a clean one. My friend bought an S21 FE (exynos too) at the same time.
I have a battery drain problem. He has not. I know these are not the same phones but not so different though. He can get 7-8 hours of SOT but I can get 4-5 hours most.
Here's my latest graphs (in turkish but I'm sure you'll understand):
https://imgur.com/a/aG0gWoT
Is this a normal draining? I performed any tricks that I found in the internet. But nothing changes. Now I'm using BBS to get the issue but nothing is unordinary.
