Hello guys, when I receive a mail through Gmail application the LED doesn't turn on.
Am I missing an option or what? I have searched the settings but couldn't find anything related.
It's a bummer because on my other phone (S8+) works flawlessly a year now.
I have missed numerous important mails because of that.

Assuming you have the LED option turned on in the display settings and you are seeing the LED for other things then there should be setting in gmail. I'm using Inbox but I'm assuming the setting are the same or very similar. In the setting for Inbox under notifications I have a toggle labeled "Pulse notification light".

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately there is no option in the Gmail settings for led notification.
Of course in other apps (phone, sms, Facebook etc.) the led is working great.
Other Gmails users can clarify?

I was talking about the actual setting in the app. So click on the "more settings in app" option at the bottom of the screenshot you shared and check the notification settings inside the actual gmail app.
The screenshot is from inside the app. When you click more settings you go again to the same page. It's like you're in a loop.
anyone find a fix to this problem? I too cannot get LED notification when I get gmail notifications.

Just checked my s9+ though I don't use the gmail app. Might just be my phone but: It appears under Settings/Notifications-All apps; Gmail appears to be off by default.

Checked in that location and also in advanced notification, everything set to ON. Still no luck.
The light wasn't flashing for me either so I went to settings/apps and cleared data for g mail. I sent myself an email and the light worked. If you change the priority of the notifications it will stop working. I had done this to turn off sound. Instead I went to the app where you select what sound you want and choose none. This stopped the sound for each email and the light works for me now. Clearing the data didn't delete the 2 accounts I have set up so it wasn't a big deal to get going. I'm glad I saw your post & took the time to remedy this. Hope it works for you. I had changed the settings and disabled the light unknowingly. I don't think it should have stopped working but it did.

Awesome. I'm going to check a couple other apps, might have disabled the notification light there too. I use the aod but I'd like the light to work too. Will check the calendar and a couple sports apps.

Ok so my problem is every time I recieve sms I get 2 notifications, first one being white icon and it looks like notification from default msg app and second from handcent sms...
Now I know I know I disabled all possible notifications in default msg app and I even uninstalled it from the phone since its rooted to 023. I played with every possible option in handcent sms and still every time I get sms I get that first notification that looks like from original msg app followed by notification from handcent sms...
Plz help, I looked everywhere and I red all posts related to it, didnt find anything.
Usually ppl have this problem when not disabling notification in original msg app.
Thanx in advance for any tips

In stock messaging, switch off all (uncheck). That is SMS, MMS, Notifications settings. That should do it.

I think I'm facing this problem too. The following screenshot shows that there is a new SMS icon in the notifications bar (arrowed), even though I have read all of my SMSes in the default Messaging app, as well as Handcent. And when I pull down the notifications bar, I get a message saying I have an unread message (see bottom half of screenshot):

I eventually found out that the problem lies with the SMS widget in Beautiful Widgets. Either un-install Beautiful Widgets or disable the SMS widget.
has the problem been fixed op?
and also..is everyone with latest update facing this problem?
The problem is in app: Beautiful widgets - Pack 2
I uninstal it and now have no double notifications..
Yesterday I noticed this odd almost transparent circle object in my notification bar at the top of my screen. However when I pull down the tray nothing is there? I went to see what was running the the settings and nothing odd was there? I killed everything and it went away. Then it came back later so I had a friend text me and when I cleared the text notification only in the tray it disappeared? I have never seen anything like it before and unless you look it's almost hard to see. I thought maybe this was Sprint backdoor software and someone was trying to remote diagnose my phone or view my screen so I killed my Wifi and 3g but it kinda scares me they can take over whenever they want? I don't have many apps installed other than what came stock (Google Voice, Xfinity Channel Changer app, Flixster, PlayerPro and Dead Trigger. I've also disabled many of the stock apps like Google+, Facebook, Shopper, Gmail, Soundhound, twitter, etc... If someone could help me figure out what it is, as I have included pictures below.

Thanks for the quick reply but no it's not. Beats shows up in the tray too and this has no presence in the tray. Also I started beats with headphones in (when I took the pics there were no headphones in and no music apps running) and compared the icons and they are not close enough,

Are you using the Power Toggles app from the Play Store? If so that's what is causing it. I had the same thing happen when I was on Mean Bean and using Power Toggles. I forget how I got it to go away, other than playing with the settings in the app until it disappeared.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much

Nothing was in the tray, other than the persistant HTC power thingy. Any other ideas anyone? The goal and design behind this application were due to an element that I felt was missing from the Android Wear platform.
I felt that the platform needed a way to respond to/send SMS messages without using your voice only. To provide the best UX possible, the app uses an xposed module to add custom responses to incoming SMS messages. What that means, is for Hangouts SMS's (simply select Reply via SMS as you normally would, and you will see your saved responses in the list to choose from). Canned responses are supported in AOSP Messaging, 8sms, Hangouts (only SMS for now), and Evolve SMS.
This thread will be used as support for the app, available on the Play Store here.
More information will be added here shortly, as well as information regarding beta g+ group.
Great App! Been using it on my Moto 360 since Sunday morning and it works without a hitch.
Does this app need xposed or root?

Needs xposed to use the canned responses aspect of it. Xposed, in turn, requires root.
Hi,
Been using this app for a couple of weeks, and noticed that the app is causing the sms notification tone not to play / the screen popup not to display and the vibrate notification on my watch doesn't work at all, once i disable the xposed module everything plays nice, well except for not being able to use this awesome app..
Is anything in the works to overcome these issues.. I am guessing it has something to do with the way the sms is hi-jacked, But for now i can't really use the app which is a shame..
Thanks

phone notification issue
I am having the same issue. on my Nexus 5 I have tried Hangouts, 8sms, Textra, Hello Sms, and evolveSMS. They all have the same effect which probably has to do with the notification hijacking. Even with hangouts, when the module is enabled, when I receive a notification, my phone simply shows the notification icon. No sound, no vibration, and no notification text. The issue is when I receive a text when I'm using my phone, I usually don't notice the notification and end up missing the text. Otherwise, the watch portion of this app works great.
Samething for me.

My ultimate request : the support of mysms application
The best would be that wearresponses will be here everytime a notification has a bouton "reply", is it possible ?
Replies not being entered into message threads
With wear reaponses installed any reply made on the wear is being sent but not added to the conversation in hangouts. As soon as you uninstall wear reaponses the issue disappears.

Hi guys, after i updated to emui 9.1 I have some notification issues. To be more precise I noticed that my WhatsApp's messages previews that always showed in notifications line, now is gone. I can see the number of chats with new messages but I can't preview them anymore. I also noticed that this is an effect from app lock. If I unblock WhatsApp and leave it open in the background then I can see previews again. But when I have it blocked with app lock, I have first to unblock with password to see previews. Anyone else noticed it? Any solution for this? I want to see message previews no matter how and no matter if the app is locked or not.. it was like that on emui 9.0 and o was doing fine.
I have the same problem.

I have noticed this issue and it is so damn annoying
Did you find any solution to this?
Did you've tried to set the Autostart etc. to manual?
Settings - Akku - App Start - Whatsapp
Manuell for every 3 Things (Auto-Start, Second Start, Background)
I've done this for every App I need to get push-notifications and got no more problems with delivered notifications.
Does anybody has the Same Problem Like me . Since i Updated to 9.1 the notifications shows Eversthing in Lockscreen.
In 9.0 i get an notification on Lockscreen that was inviseblity . Mean First i have to unlock my Phone by Facescan then the notification Show it full.
Is this Feature disabled since 9.1 or does i need to activate it ?
Most people are not reading what is posted !!!
The contents of the WhatsApp messages is gone in notification after upgrading to 9.1.
Notifications work fine, but you cannot see from who are what message you expect to see when you are about to click on the notification. There is just an indication of how many messages you have received.

Don't have this issue at all. I see the message just by swipe down notification bar. Did you check notifications on WhatsApp? (setting, app, WhatsApp, notification). It look like it's just the way to see the message : in place of click notification you have just to swipe down notifications panel and see the whole message.
I think they've changed how notifications are "grouped".
If you get one WhatsApp notification, you still see the message in the pull down notification panel.
If you get more than one WhatsApp notification, it shows you "x number of messages"

Hi, i'm still having problem with notifications in WIFI connection only.
Currently i'm using GCM FIX(blue color icon) in playstore and set heartbeat to 1 minute and disable powergenie to have normal push notification.
But, if i don't use that, i got delay every 4 minutes notifications.
I'm just curious and if you guys can help me to send your FCM DIAGNOSTICS screenshot by dialing *#*#426#*#* (i really want to know if only me to experienced this or not just me)
the example of mine below, it's always shows Err:28 Time:xx every 4 minutes, this is not normal.
I also had the same issue, a simple restart fixed the issue for me, hope it does for you too.
Bumping this thread because my notifications do not have content previews anymore after the update to 9.1. I have tried the tips in exception for disabling power genie, what are the repercussions to doing this?
One observation I have is if app lock is on for the apps in question then then preview will not display even if the phone is unlocked. If the app itself is unlocked then notification previews work fine. I don't believe I had this issue with EMUI 9.0.
I have the exact same issue, it's not only WhatsApp but all the apps I use AppLock for. If the app is not locked I see them fine. If the app is locked, not only that I don't see the content but I cannot swipe it to dismiss it either...
It has nothing to do with killing the app in the background, since I DO get the notification but the content is blocked.
I'm having the same issue. Since upgrading to EMUI 9.1 last night, I can no longer see notification previews (e.g. WhatsApp). It just says WhatsApp and you can't expand the notification or see the preview like before. It's the same for other apps. It did briefly work but stopped ... I've tinkered with all the settings and restarted numerous times....I still have the issue.
Anyone else seeing this issue? Can anyone share a fix?

I have the exact same issue, it's not only WhatsApp but all the apps I use AppLock for. If the app is not locked I see them fine. If the app is locked, not only that I don't see the content but I cannot swipe it to dismiss it either...
It has nothing to do with killing the app in the background, since I DO get the notification but the content is blocked.

Thank you! So Huawei have changed the way App Lock protected apps display their notification. I guess what they've done makes sense from a security point of view...if you've chosen to lock the app then why should the phone display full previews with people being able to see what's in the secured app without passing validation....but I miss previewing WhatsApp haha
Does anyone know why I'm getting a Google Downloading notification so many times a day, and you can't clear them either, without disabling every notification in settings. It doesn't give any clue as to what's being downloaded. When I tap & hold it, it leads to a list of about 25 different notifications. I've tried disabling them in various combinations, to no avail. It's not updates to play services, or other system apps. I see those updates separately. I'm at a loss as to what it is for. It pops up many times when using Google keyboard, especially at times I'm typing in a search inquiry, on all kinds of different apps. But, it does appear at times I'm not using keyboard, though, less frequently.
Got a screenshot or something to help identify it?

I can't screenshot the notifications shade when pulled down. All it shows is two arrows in a circle one over the other, Google (dot) 1min which continues the count for several minutes. And under that, Downloading. I can activate or cause it to appear when I type in any search bar, in any browser app, or other apps, so, I'm thinking it has something to do with the Google keyboard perhaps. It's really starting to annoy, or frustrate me.
i was just able to take screenshots of notifications? ( Pressing at the same time POWER and VOL - ) you could also if you really wanted to help anyone figure out how to help you: screen record it then export photo, or even find the image online.
let me re-read what you have here and consider it further.

Hmmm. looks a lot like the sync icon for profile stuff like contacts and calendar etc.
Could be glitching while attempting to sync from the cloud? I would maybe turn that off and see if it does it.
If you turn off all google notifications does it still do?
to be honest i have not ever seen that before, so im wildly guessing and im not an expert lol. it sometimes takes a while to get a response here and sometimes no response is given at all. i would suggest posting your question here:

I mean tho that one says 23 notifications a day of "data download" turn that off. that is likely it.
Ok, I'll give that a try, thanks

That might have done the trick, as soon as I turned it off, the notification disappeared from my shade. I'll give it a day or so, and report back. I must have missed that in my earlier messing around. Hopefully, it's cured?
COOL
It is likely the speech services trying to download your language files. It could be easily solved if that is the case and you connect to wifi then do what would make it happen again and give it time to download what it needs.
As a side-note turning off the notification is just masking the issue. if you really want to get to the root of the problem what i would do is look at running the stuff running and close them one by one, while also clearing each of their cache, and when you find out which one is causing it such as the google speech language download (which is very likely) then clear data to that app and be connected to wifi because otherwise it wont download.
I can report that the notification is no longer activated when typing in a search bar. So far, that's a good sign.

I thought it might be speech services as well at first, but then I remembered just yesterday I was getting a download for speech services and the notification actually said "speech services".
well it is a 334 mb file so give it enough time maybe. but yeah likely be resolved from being connected to wifi for a while maybe reboot while on wifi. but yeah turing that off should make it just stop telling you it need to download something.

Speech services is one of the first things I nuked when setting the device up. I'm not a fan. Could be due to my interest, hence search terms activate the download, but, I've turned off most of that stuff in other Google settings.
